Alex Jones to SELL Infowars — what's the main takeaway?

There are some big changes coming for Infowars. Alex Jones has dropped his efforts to declare bankruptcy and has agreed to liquidate his assets in order to pay the $1.5 billion in damages he owes families of the Sandy Hook mass shooting. The victims' families had asked a bankruptcy judge in Texas to liquidate Jones’ media empire and Infowars parent company, Free Speech Systems. One attorney representing the families explained that “speech is free, but lies you have to pay for.” “There’s really no avenue out of this,” Jones said on Sunday. “I’m kind of in the bunker here. And don’t worry, I’ll come back. The enemy can’t help but do this attack.” Pat Gray is not happy with the outcome. “It’s unconstitutional, and more people need to be pissed off about this,” Gray says. “You can’t fine a man who doesn’t make anything like that, won’t make that in a lifetime, you can’t fine him 1.5 billion dollars.” “I don’t like that he thought it was a hoax,” Gray adds, referencing Jones’ previous claim that the Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax. “I think it was silly that he thought it was a hoax, but to drive him out of business over it, to sue him for 1.5 billion dollars over it.” Jeffy notes that there seems to be an ulterior motive here — which is silencing Jones. “They’ve already done a pretty good job of it,” Gray agrees. “If there is one case you can point to and say, you can only pick one, ‘this is un-American,’ it’s right here. You are going after a person’s voice with this ridiculous amount of money,” Keith Malinak says. “I don’t care if he told 500 lies about fill in the blank. It’s free speech man.” “It’s agonizing that America just doesn’t exist in its foundational form anymore,” Gray adds. New World dev explains why the MMORPG needs a huge relaunch

Amazon Games' MMORPG New World is about to go through a massive presentation change. Since launching in 2021 it’s been a PC-only MMO through and through, but later this year it’s coming to consoles and undergoing a relaunch. There are new ARPG elements thrown in, and solo and co-op play have a renewed focus. With such a potentially turbulent time on the horizon, we spoke with some of the team behind New World while at Summer Game Fest, and learned more about what this relaunch means for the game and its players. AMD’s new Ryzen 5 9600X CPU just got benchmarked in this leak

It looks as though Zen 5 CPUs are already appearing in the wild, and a new AMD Ryzen 5 9600X engineering sample has reportedly just been put through its paces in a couple of benchmarks, including CPU-Z and AIDA64. The results appear to back up claims made by AMD when it first announced the new Ryzen 9000 series at Computex, as well as revealing some of the specs. The new CPUs are scheduled to be released in July 2024, with Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs reportedly coming a few months later, and we’re expecting them to make a big splash on our best gaming CPU guide when they’re finally unleashed. In this case, a six-core Granite Ridge AMD Ryzen CPU is shown in comparison to a Ryzen 5 7600X, showing a near doubling of the cache performance. New puzzle game is unlike any other, and the Steam demo is live now

Blue Prince is a masterpiece. I could just leave it there and this could be a very short preview. After all, it’s hard to pin down exactly why Blue Prince is so wonderful. It’s hard to pin down what Blue Prince even is, but I can guarantee it’s unlike anything you’ve ever played and you won’t want to put it down. You’ve read about it? Cool. Watched the trailer? Good for you. Forget everything you think you know. Blue Prince needs to be played. Continue reading New puzzle game is unlike any other, and the Steam demo is live now

There’s a problem with iPhone AI that might hurt Apple more than it’s willing to admit

The iPhone is the only product in Apple's lineup where Apple goes out of its way to avoid mentioning the amount of RAM. Apple has continued to upgrade the capacity and speed of its iPhone RAM over the years. Also, iOS is optimized to work with more limited memory availability. Often, the iPhone beats rivals with much more RAM in speed tests thanks to Apple's ability to control the hardware and software experience like that. As a longtime iPhone user, I've never felt like the iPhone had trouble handling what I throw at it, even when using iPhones that were several years old. But no matter how fast and smooth the iPhone is, Apple probably doesn't like to mention RAM capacity for marketing reasons. Android phones used to have (and need) much more RAM. However, most recently, some vendors have tempered the memory upgrades, with Samsung being one example. But now that the age of AI is here, Apple's RAM strategy for the iPhone might hurt the iPhone more than the company is willing to admit. The language models that power on-device AI — which is the kind of private AI that Apple wants to offer users in iOS 18 — might come with minimum RAM requirements. That likely means that older iPhone models won't get the latest and greatest AI features from Apple. After all, the only way to upgrade the RAM will be to have an iPhone 15 Pro or to buy an iPhone 16 this fall. Continue reading...
