The book is the first in Weaver’s Ruinous Love trilogy, which has sold over one million books in eighteen countries. According to Variety, the adaptation already has Chris McKay on board as director. McKay’s previous credits include The Tomorrow War, the 2021 Prime Video movie starring Chris Pratt; The Lego Batman Movie, which is arguably one of the best Batman films; and Renfield, the vampire comedy starring Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult. Here’s the official synopsis for the film, per Variety: Butcher and Blackbird follows two competing killers who target other serial killers as they attempt to one up each other. As their unlikely bond grows into something deeper, they start to wonder if a future together could ever be possible. The pairing of McKay with this premise suggests that the movie may be on the lighter side of serial killer fare, not surprising since the books are dark romantic comedies. The adaptation currently doesn’t have a writer attached to pen the script, so the project is still in its early days. No news yet on casting, nor on if/when we’ll see the killer romance on screen. CNN has been paying the market price for its unwavering leftist media bias. Recent reports indicate the cable network is trying to reform itself—to become a more nonpartisan, reliable news organization. Anyone who’s sane, sober, and informed knows that Jake Tapper and Dana Bash are going to be loaded with tough questions for former President Donald Trump. Based on their past behavior, they are going to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at him. I say fine—do it, so long as it’s based on demonstrable evidence, and not on surveys or conjecture or rumor. But if Tapper and Bash are sincere about proving CNN is acting without partisan bias, they should also ask some serious questions of President Joe Biden.  Here are three of those questions:  1) Why are you the No. 1 global financial enabler of the Iranian terrorist regime? Iran played a material role in helping al Qaeda to perpetrate the 9/11 attack, and had been providing it with aid and assistance at least 10 years prior to, and 10 years after the attack. Iran’s rulers have openly declared that their highest duty is to wipe America and Israel off the face of the Earth, and are building nuclear weapons with which to do just that.  Further, Iran is the paymaster of the Houthis that are attacking U.S. and other nations’ ships, Hezbollah, the world’s largest anti-U.S. and antisemitic terrorist gang, and Hamas, which perpetrated the slaughter of Jews on Oct. 7. Knowing all this, President Biden, why have you decided to become the No. 1 global financial enabler of the Iranian terrorist regime? To summarize: In February 2022, you unfroze $29 billion and released it to Iran. In September 2023, you gave Iran $16 billion in what amounted to a ransom payment. What is democracy if black men are being killed in the street? What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leave black — black communities behind? What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot? You must know that this is completely untrue. You must know, as president, that each year, individuals with black skin arrive (legally) on America’s shores with nothing or all their possessions in shopping bags, and in a few years, own their own homes, have built small businesses, or work in skilled professions, right here in this supposedly racist nation. They achieved their dreams by working hard, in a focused and resilient manner, and took advantage of the unlimited opportunities that America offers—which is why, of the 196 nations on Earth, America is the No. 1 emigration destination, year after year, decade after decade.  Knowing all this, why would you say such a thing, that you know is both untrue, and can only serve to help incite hatred of America, our government, our law enforcement officers, and our entire culture? And speaking of inciting racist hatred against America’s police officers, a follow-up: On Oct. 26, 2019, you gave a speech at Benedict College, in which you were asked: “If I were your daughter, what advice would you give me the next time I am stopped by the police?”  You responded, “If you were my daughter, you’d be a caucasian girl and you wouldn’t be pulled over.” Again, you know that this is untrue—and can only serve to help incite hatred of, and racist violent against our law enforcement officers. Why would you say such a thing—and will you commit here, tonight, to never do that again? 3) Why do you keep claiming that “Hamas doesn’t represent the Palestinian people,” when every reliable metric shows Palestinians support Hamas by overwhelming margins? President Biden, since Hamas’ Oct. 7 campaign of murder, rape, torture, and kidnapping against Israeli Jews, you and Secretary of State Antony Blinkin have repeatedly said, in public, some variant of the claim that “Hamas doesn’t represent the Palestinian people.” And it is on this basis that you say once the war is over, you are going to use billions of U.S. tax dollars to create a Palestinian state, that will not be ruled by Hamas. You’ve done this even though every reliable survey of Palestinians, by Palestinian research organizations—both before and after the Hamas’ Oct. 7 slaughter of Jews—shows the Palestinian people overwhelmingly support Hamas and its genocidal terrorism: If a presidential election were held, Ismail Haniyah, the head of Hamas, would soundly defeat Mahmoud Abbas, the head of Fatah. By 3-to-2 margin, Palestinians say Hamas deserves to represent them. 83% of Palestinians in the West Bank, and 64% in the Gaza Strip, say they support Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack. More than 70% of Palestinians in both regions reject any “two-state solution,” and instead want Israel destroyed, to be replaced by a Palestinian nation. Why do you keep repeating the false claim that “Hamas doesn’t represent the Palestinian people,” when you know it is not true—and that any U.S. taxpayer money you give them will be used to enable Hamas to continue its terror campaign against Israeli Jews? Monday, June 22 marked the second anniversary of the Dobbs decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. MRCTV visited 'The Hill' in Washington D.C. and witnessed various pro-lifers and pro-aborts stand firm in their stance. We encountered one man, Thomas Kearns, who shared the emotional story of his deceased daughter, Clementine. She would’ve been born around Jul 20, 2024, but was tragically killed through abortion. Her mother, who Kearns confesses is grieving and in so much pain, was manipulated into thinking that aborting her baby was the only option when she doubted her skills as a mother. “They ripped my daughter’s limbs off,” Kearns told us before adding, “It took her a minute to bleed to death. They ripped off her first leg and then they ripped off her second leg.” You could hear the pain in his voice when telling the story. “I talked to an abortion doctor and they told me that they [the babies] do make facial expressions, they open and close their mouth while their heart slowly dwindles,” Kearns said, “they suffer as they die.” As a call to action, Kearns pleaded with society, “I’m begging society; please understand the developmental stages of a pre-born baby,” before noting how babies don’t deserve abortion.  It was heartbreaking to hear Kearns and his daughter’s story, but hopefully the pro-aborts who protested for the mass destruction of babies, like Clementine in the womb, will hear it, understand what actually happens during an abortion and stop advocating for such an evil thing.

According to CNN’s Reliable Sources newsletter, moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will be pushing back against Donald Trump’s “dishonest talking points” during Thursday night’s debate, effectively making the contest a 3-on-1. But how can a network like CNN, which has aired enough fake news to fill a library, deign to crown itself the arbiter of truth? From the Thursday newsletter: What’s more, while CNN has said it will not fact-check the candidates’ claims in real-time, Trump’s propensity to spread dangerous lies and corrosive conspiracy theories will put some onus on Tapper and Bash to make sure the Republican does not abuse the platform to peddle some of his favorite dishonest talking points… In cases of fact versus fiction on critical matters, a he-said, he-said dynamic would not serve the audience well. CNN will need to account for that. If this is to believed, then we can expect Bash and Tapper to interrupt Trump a lot. Calling out the Biden DOJ’s political prosecutions, correctly describing the border as open, speaking ill of the economy, mentioning President Biden’s influence peddling — all of these and more will likely result in obnoxious pushback from the moderators. But let’s not call those interruptions fact-checks. CNN may have crowned itself the “facts-first” network, but that title has absolutely no bearing on reality. Indeed, the network has pushed so many false stories and partisan narratives that it’s hard to keep track of them all. House Republicans have inched closer to halting the Biden regime’s censorship schemes. The House debated on Thursday a spending bill to effectively shut down the Department of State’s censorship initiatives. The bill is part of House appropriations for Fiscal Year 2025—and comes after House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made free speech a central issue in the House. H.R. 8771 prevents the Department of State from exploiting taxpayer funds to censor Americans. This marks a significant victory for free speech, especially in light of a recent Supreme Court decision that allows the Biden administration to continue to coerce Big Tech platforms into censoring Americans in the lead-up to the pivotal 2024 general elections. MRC President Brent Bozell hailed the bill’s introduction in a statement thanking Johnson and House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK), writing on X: “Let’s continue to defund the censorship regime!” The bill—introduced by Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), the chairman of the State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee—specifically targets four aspects of Biden’s censorship efforts in the State Department:  It blocks the agency from attacking U.S. media companies based on mis-, dis- and mal-information. It defunds initiatives that advocate for censorship. It prohibits activities that influence consumers or advertisers toward U.S. companies or social media platforms. It orders the State Department-led Global Engagement Center to re-focus on foreign propaganda and disinformation acts by “foreign state and non-state actors abroad,” rather than American individuals. The funding bill comes after free speech advocates scolded the U.S. Supreme Court following its outrageous decision in Murthy v. Missouri, a crucial case that sought to block the Biden administration from unleashing its attack dogs to coerce social media platforms to censor Americans ahead of the 2024 presidential election. In a 6-3 decision, Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote on behalf of the majority that the pro-free speech plaintiffs lacked standing to proceed with the case against the Biden administration. Echoing Bozell’s sentiments, MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider said, “Because the Supreme Court came down with a disastrous opinion, essentially greenlighting Biden's censorship efforts, it is more important now than ever that Congress defund these unlawful practices.” He added, “All credit to chairmen Cole and Diaz-Balart for fighting for our First Amendment rights.” Conservatives are under attack. The Alameda County Prosecutors' Association threw its support behind the recall effort against George Soros-backed District Attorney Pamela Price, the San Francisco Chronicle recently reported.According to an email obtained by the news outlet, the union "overwhelmingly" voted to support recalling the soft-on-crime DA. The union's email read, "Our support for the recall reflects the unfair and hostile work conditions that we face everyday [sic], as we try in good faith to implement the policy directives that Pamela Price has created.""Put different, our support for the recall is based on labor issues, not policy," it added.During her time in office, the county has experienced an increase in crime and an exodus of businesses. Price has recently led an investigation into past misconduct in her office, which she believes prompted the union to support the recall effort. The DA alleged that prosecutors in Alameda County between the mid-1980s and 2007 prevented black and Jewish residents from participating as jury members on death penalty cases, according to a CNN report.During a Tuesday press conference, Price addressed the union's support for her removal from office."The prosecutors' union has always supported the recall. The prosecutors' union contributed $125,000 to my opponent's campaign and then fundraised an additional $75,000. The prosecutors' union, at this point, represents a very small percentage of our employees," Price stated.According to the San Francisco Chronicle, 85% of the union's members participated in the recall vote. However, it is unclear how many ballots were cast supporting Price's removal. "Unfortunately, the timing is indicative of the fact that this office has had a legacy and a history of unethical behavior, and it's obviously something that no one wanted us to uncover or certainly to expose to the public," Price continued. "We're aware that [the prosecutors' union] has been consistently opposed to our efforts to try to reform this office and to expose prosecutorial misconduct."She called her office's investigation of the death penalty cases a "final straw" for the union. "I do believe that they are threatened by our review of past prosecutorial misconduct. I believe that too many prosecutors in this office were raised with very different values than the values that this community holds today," Price added.California Justice and Public Safety PAC, which received funding from Soros, gave $700,000 to Price's 2018 campaign. In March, the groups behind the recall effort submitted approximately 123,000 signatures, Blaze News previously reported. To force a special election, they only needed roughly 73,000 verified signatures. During Tuesday's press conference, Price announced that Chief Assistant District Attorney Otis Bruce Jr. had announced his resignation effective July 13. "I can confirm that Otis Bruce Jr. has resigned," Price stated. "He was part of the transition team. We had a great experience with him. Comedian and podcaster Adam Carolla revealed that he is finally going to leave California and compared staying in the state to excusing a drug-addicted family member.The 60-year-old has faced questions about a potential exodus from the state for several years and told host Sage Steele that it is finally "time to move."The move coincides with his twin teenagers graduating high school, after the comedian citing for years that he didn't want to uproot his kids."I have twins, and they're in their senior year of high school, and I couldn't — I didn't want to pick up and, you know, tear up their roots, you know? So people always go, 'When are you leaving?' And I go, I will be attending their high school graduation in a U-Haul," Carolla joked.'We get what we deserve, and we deserve it.'Carolla, one of the first podcasters in America, said that California has been circling the drain in recent years and compared that to decades ago when leaving Los Angeles was the last thing on his mind."That's a sad testimonial about California and sort of recent downturn in L.A. as well, because growing up out here, nobody left. And you go 'because his heart hasn't stopped yet.' And it's like, 'Yeah, I know, but why do we have to bottom out?' We know where we're going. Let's reverse course.
