Native-Born American Labor Participation Slumps As Immigrant Labor Numbers Jump

The rate of labor participation among native-born Americans has slumped while the number of immigrants in the workforce has surged, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) indicates. The drop among native-born Americans was pronounced among men within their prime working years, the CIS study explains. “The share of working-age (16 to 64) U.S.-born men not in the labor force increased from 11 percent in April 1960 to 17 percent in April 2000, and to 22 percent in April 2024,” the report states. “Among ‘prime-age’ U.S.-born men (25 to 54), the group most likely to work, the share not in the labor force was 4 percent in April 1960, 9 percent in 2000 and 12 percent in 2024.” CIS found that 45 million native-born American men and women between the ages of 16 and 64 were not in the labor force as of April, marking an increase of 8.5 million since 2000. It also accounted for the aging of the population, explaining that “even the share of younger U.S.-born men (25 to 34) not in the labor force has increased over the last six decades.” “Focusing only on U.S.-born men without a bachelor’s degree and excluding teenagers still shows the share (20 to 64) not in the labor force increased from 7 percent in 1960 to 16 percent in 2000, and to 22 percent in 2024,” the CIS study says. The number of American-born men who are not in the labor force surged by a whopping 13.2 million from 1960 to 2024, CIS points out. Immigrant men’s participation in the labor force surged by 14.1 million during the same period of time, however. 50% OFF ALL DAILY WIRE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS FOR A LIMITED TIME! The lead author behind the report, Steven Camarota, contended that an over reliance on immigrant labor has harmed American workers. “Relying on immigrant workers has allowed our country to ignore the decades-long decline in labor force participation,” he asserted. “Reducing immigration would cause wages to rise, incentivizing work and compelling policymakers to undertake much-needed reforms in welfare and disability programs.”

UPS Worker Goes Out Of Her Way To Ensure Girl’s Christmas Gift Isn’t Ruined

While some of us get a break from our jobs around Christmas, for others, the holiday season is the busiest time of year. This is certainly true for those who work for the UPS. Now, more than ever, folks are ordering gifts for their loved ones. So much so, in fact, that UPS hires seasonal workers to help out. Aubrie Jones is one of those workers. While being a delivery driver is hard work, Aubrie absolutely adores getting to deliver presents. That said, she found herself in a predicament recently. She was set to deliver a Barbie Dream House to a family she remembered. The problem? The box wasn’t wrapped, making it easy for the gift to be spoiled, should the child see it. Luckily, Aubrie came up with the perfect solution. @aubrieina my santa spirit just could not deliver this to someones house + risk a little girl have this spoiled for her #barbiedreamhouse #santa #packagedelivery ♬ All I Want for Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey Before Aubrie made the delivery, she stopped by her home to use the bathroom. Here, she passed by a roll of wrapping paper — and that’s when she got to work on ensuring a little girl’s Christmas surprise didn’t get ruined. “I just kept imagining if this was my own family — if my sister ordered this, and this box was sitting on her step, and my niece were to walk right outside and see it, before Christmas Day,” Aubrie shares. “When you think about how something can affect your own family, if the shoe were on the other foot, you really get into a different mindset.” UPS Worker Gets Praise For Going the Extra Mile to Keep a Little Girl’s Christmas Gift a Surprise Since Aubrie’s video went viral, she’s gone on to show herself doing the same for other gifts. Because, while it’s true she can’t know for sure which ones are gifts, there are signs. Plus, if nothing else, she says she could “prevent a porch pirate from being enticed.” “So many comments were thanking me for doing this, saying I was doing the Lord’s work or I was saving Christmas, that I deserved a raise or a bonus, or that the video made them smile and believe in humanity again,” Aubrie says. “It was honestly a great feeling reading through all of the positive comments. It really felt like a sense of community.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here! Church of England reportedly urges clergy to alter Christmas carols to avoid offensive lyrics. But church has different view.

Church of England reportedly urges clergy to alter Christmas carols to avoid offensive lyrics. But church has different view.

The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that the Church of England has urged clergy to change the lyrics of certain Christmas carols and Advent hymns so they can be sung "without causing unnecessary offense." But the Church of England on Monday told Blaze News in a statement that "no one has been asked to change words in carols or liturgies."The Daily Mail said a vicar shared with the outlet an email to Birmingham diocese clergy that reads, "Try to use language that won’t add further confusion or tension or take away anything from the good news of the Nativity."'If the Church cedes the line on this, what else?'The vicar added to the Daily Mail that the Church of England has "really lost the plot" and that even Russian dictator Vladimir Putin "doesn’t order Orthodox churches to censor carols at Christmas."The outlet said "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" has been targeted for depicting other faiths as being "outside of God’s grace" — and the hymn's "captive Israel" reference also rubs church higher-ups the wrong way.The Daily Mail also said "Lo, He Comes with Clouds Descending" — a favorite of Queen Victoria — has been called out as well, with clergy receiving a link to research noting that the second verse contains "problematic words" that state Jesus is the "true Messiah."What does the Church of England have to say?The Church of England on Monday told Blaze News that the Bishop of Birmingham, the Rt. Rev Dr. Michael Volland, issued the following Sunday statement in regard to the Daily Mail's report: No one has been asked to change words in carols or liturgies. Members of our team working closely with diverse communities in Birmingham invited churches to think about providing some context for people new to church who might be unsure why "Israel" is being discussed and whether this has any relation to the current conflict. The lyrics in some of our hymns, even those that have been sung for many years, are not always understood as having their roots in the Bible rather than current situations. The email from our team was an encouragement to help churches think about how they can tell the Christmas story authentically, without confusion, and in a way that makes all visitors feel welcome.Canon Chris Sugden — a former member of the General Synod and executive secretary of the Anglican Mainstream group — told the Daily Mail that hymns shouldn't be altered just because the Church of England "conforms to every progressive cause.""If one was attending a Jewish or Hindu festival, would you expect them to alter the lyrics or alter the liturgy because there are some who might find them difficult?" Sugden added to the outlet. "Who are the people they think are going to object to this?"He also told the Daily Mail that "people who attend Christmas carols ... will expect to have them sung properly. If the Church cedes the line on this, what else?"The outlet noted that diocesan officials on its "presence and engagement team" claim the hymns have a "strong emphasis of supersessionism" — a doctrine holding that the Christian Church has replaced the Jewish people as God's true covenant people. The Daily Mail added that the email reads, "Some of the language used in our liturgy, hymns, and readings could easily cause confusion."Sam Margrave — a lay member of the General Synod — told the outlet that his "advice to clergy is sing loud and proud. We have a great heritage of hymns in this Christian nation, and any clergy who don’t like what the Church has to offer needs to think whether they are in the right role."A Daily Mail op-ed published Monday noted in connection with the Church of England's reported Christmas carol email that "leftist, worldly preoccupations are displacing the divine. If God is disappearing from so many people's lives, it is at least partly because He is disappearing from our national Church."Readers may recall a 2022 Blaze News report noting that All Saints with Holy Trinity church in Loughborough, England, changed the lyrics of the 17th-century carol "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" to read "God rest you, queer and questioning" and "God rest you also, women, who by men have been erased."Like Blaze News? When Romanians went to work on Christmas Day

When Romanians went to work on Christmas Day

Most Americans get Christmas Day off, but it wasn’t like that for embattled Romanians back in 1989. Under Stalinist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu, Romania was one of the most oppressive states in the world, practically on the level of Enver Hoxha’s Albania. Ceaușescu bulldozed churches and banned the celebration of Christmas. In the city of Timisoara, Ceaușescu's Securitate attacked pastor Laszlo Tokes for criticizing the regime, and on December 17, 1989, the people organized an anti-government demonstration. Ceaușescu ordered his forces to fire on the crowds, killing nearly 100 protesters. Mass protests broke out across the country, and this time, the military sided with the people.Totalitarians believe they can get away with murder, but sometimes the people prove victorious.Ceaușescu fled in a helicopter, but the pilot forced a landing and soldiers took him into custody. Nicolae and wife Elena were swiftly tried for crimes against humanity and sentenced to death. On Christmas Day, an elite unit led the pair toward an outdoor toilet block in a courtyard. Nicolae sang the “Internationale” while Elena shrieked filth at a soldier, who hauled off and smashed her face. The troops then stood the pair against a wall, set their Kalashnikovs on full automatic, and opened fire. Unlike the bloody scene in Timisoara, the rifle reports came as tidings of comfort and joy.For the first time in decades, Romanians openly celebrated Christmas, and the next year, the nation held free elections. Too bad that the vile Ceaușescu was the only Stalinist dictator who got what he deserved.Josef Stalin, murderer of more than 20 million, died of a heart attack on March 5, 1953. According to “The Black Book of Communism,” Mao Zedong’s genocidal campaigns claimed more than 60 million victims. China’s “Great Helmsman” died peacefully on September 9, 1976, at the age of 82.Albania’s Enver Hoxha died of complications from diabetes on April 11, 1985, at the age of 76. Erich Honecker, communist dictator of the German Democratic Republic and builder of the Berlin Wall, died of cancer in Chile on May 29, 1994, at the age of 81.Khmer Rouge dictator Pol Pot, whose campaign of genocide took down nearly 2 million innocents, about 21% of the population, died in his sleep on April 15, 1998. Sado-Stalinist Fidel Castro, darling of American leftists, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2016, at the age of 90.Totalitarians believe they can get away with murder, but sometimes the people prove victorious. As Americans celebrate in freedom, they might recall Romania’s Kalashnikov Christmas, and in the new year take a lesson from Milan Kundera in “The Unbearable Lightness of Being.” In all nations, at all times, the struggle against tyranny is the struggle of memory against forgetting.

'Irony is not dead': A special Hanukkah message for AOC and Ilhan Omar

While many people, including politicians, will wish the Jews who celebrate Hanukkah a happy holiday, their beliefs aren’t exactly consistent with their well-wishes. Thankfully, Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” is here to set the record straight for those who don’t seem to know what they’re saying. “One of the things that we’re going to be seeing over the next couple days is a whole bunch of people wishing people a happy Hanukkah, including people like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar and AOC and the usual suspects, who don’t seem to want Jews to live in the ancient land of Israel,” Rubin says. “And yet, Hanukkah is the story of the Jews, the indigenous people of the ancient land of Israel, defending the Judean Hills in Judea and Samaria, which unfortunately now we call the West Bank, against their Greek invaders,” he continues. “So when AOC and Ilhan and Rashida wish people a happy Hanukkah, they are literally wishing the Jewish people a happy holiday for successfully pushing back the foreign invaders in the land of Israel, a place that they don’t seem to want Jews to live in these days.” “Irony is not dead,” he adds, “So happy Hanukkah to everyone who celebrates, especially Rashida, AOC, and Ilhan.” Want more from Dave Rubin? To enjoy more honest conversations, free speech, and big ideas with Dave Rubin, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.
