Tomb Raider developers uncensor content‚ claim it was removed by accident: 'This has been resolved'

Almost two weeks after fans noticed that a portion of a Tomb Raider video game was removed‚ developers have since reinstated the content but claimed it was removed by accident.Aspyr Media Inc.‚ a subsidiary of gaming giant Embracer Group‚ admitted to fans of the series that it was behind the removal of images in Tomb Raider III: The Lost Artefact.Previously‚ gamers noticed that developers had removed polygonal photos of its main character‚ Lara Croft‚ lying in provocative poses from the background of one of its environments. The original game's graphics made the images barely discernable‚ but in the remastered version‚ the animated posters were clear. This came more than two months after the release of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered‚ which came out on February 14‚ 2024.Fans were doubly mad at the fact that the remastered games were supposed to be presented in their original form‚ or so a disclaimer at the beginning of the games said.&;quot; The games in this collection contain offensive depictions of people and cultures rooted in racial and ethnic prejudices. These stereotypes are deeply harmful‚ inexcusable‚ and do not align with our values at Crystal Dynamics‚&;quot; a prompt in the game read.Aspyr Media chalked the removal of the images up to textural and graphical updates which caused an error.&;quot;Thank you to the Tomb Raider community for your continued feedback and support for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft‚&;quot; an employee named Daniel wrote.&;quot; In the recently released Patch 2‚ we made several texture and graphical updates to the HD version. As part of these updates‚ the posters in Sleeping With The Fishes (The Lost Artifact) were inadvertently removed in the HD version of the game. This has been resolved and these textures will be restored in Patch 3‚&;quot; he added. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered's second update removed pinup posters of Lara in Tomb Raider III. Updates should never be used to retroactively censor games‚ it's a form of theft. Any company that engages in this bait &; switch behavior should go bankrupt. — (@) Many fans were thankful for the decision‚ but some called the believability of Aspyr's claim into question.&;quot;I have a hard time in this day and age believing that the change was inadvertent but it's certainly possible. Thank you for restoring them‚ either way. My faith in Aspyr is restored. My only suggestion is to get the word out quicker should something like this happen again‚&;quot; one fan stated on X. @AspyrMedia I have a hard time in this day and age believing that the change was inadvertent but it's certainly possible.\n\nThank you for restoring them‚ either way. My faith in Aspyr is restored. My only suggestion is to get the word out quicker should something like this happen again. — (@) &;quot;I don't believe the change was 'inadvertent‚' but good for you listening to fans and fixing the poor decision‚&;quot; another user wrote.I don't believe the change was &;quot;inadvertent‚&;quot; but good for you listening to fans and fixing the poor decision.— FedUpMajority (@FedUpMajority) April 26‚ 2024 Yet another user pointed out that there remained another change in the game that has mostly gone ignored. A enemy character in the game who had a topless woman on the back of his jacket was shown to have it covered with a bikini in the new version.Credibility of the franchise has wavered among fans as Tomb Raider has suffered from horrible PR in early 2024. In addition to the alleged censorship and content warnings‚ a licensed board game for Tomb Raider also faced huge criticisms for saying that the series' main character‚ Lara Croft‚ was a &;quot;colonialist&;quot; while the games consisted of out-of-date and offensive themes related to stealing.Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Father of Christian singer Mandisa shares insight about his daughter's tragic sudden death: 'They found her on the floor'

The father of Christian singer Mandisa‚ who suddenly died this month‚ is providing new insight into his daughter's tragic end.The Grammy-award winning singer‚ whose solo career began after appearing on &;quot;American Idol‚&;quot; was found dead inside her Nashville-area home on April 18. Last week‚ the Franklin Police Department said the investigation into Mandisa's death was ongoing and confirmed there was &;quot;no indication the death was the result of suspicious or criminal activity.&;quot; On Saturday‚ Mandisa's friends and family gathered at Brentwood Baptist Church to celebrate her life. During the service‚ Mandisa's father‚ John Hundley‚ revealed that he has spoken with a detective about what he believes happened to his daughter‚ and that investigator &;quot;did not disagree with me.&;quot;&;quot; Here's what I think happened‚&;quot; Hundley began.&;quot;Mandisa fell down in her bedroom. They found her on the floor‚&;quot; he explained. &;quot; If you look from the rear of her bed‚ she was laying on the left side. It’s clear that's where she was laying‚ there was a couple of big rugs there and some clothes. On the right side of the bed‚ front‚ was this nightstand‚ and I found her phone on the right side of the bed. There was no way for Mandisa to get around the bed‚ go out there‚ and get a phone to call for help.&;quot; Mandisa's Father Tells What Led To Her Death During Her Celebration of Life | April 27‚ 2024 www.youtube.com An emotional Hundley then shut down speculation about Mandisa's death and provided insight into her health in the months leading up to her death.&;quot; She did not harm herself‚&;quot; he said. &;quot; As she said‚ Mandisa loved the Lord‚ and the Lord loved Mandisa.&;quot; There's one thing you may not have known: She told me some time ago that she had gotten COVID-19‚ and she had been weak trying to get over that. But she was trying to press through‚&;quot; he explained. Earlier in his remarks‚ Hundley said police will say more about Mandisa's death in the coming weeks. The Tennessee Department of Health‚ meanwhile‚ said a full autopsy report would be released sometime in the next 60-90 says‚ the Tennessean reported.Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. School board 'punished' middle school girls who protested biological male competing against them at track meet: Complaint

A West Virginia school board &;quot;punished&;quot; a group of middle school girls who protested a biological male competing against them at a track meet earlier this month‚ according to a legal complaint. What's the background&;#63; Cellphone video showed girls from Lincoln Middle School staging a protest in the shot put ring at the Harrison County Middle School Championships on April 18; one by one‚ they stepped into the ring and then quickly stepped out without making attempts. — (@) While the video in the post from female athlete advocate Riley Gaines appears to show six separate protests by Lincoln girls in the shot put ring‚ AthleticNet indicated that five Lincoln girls posted &;quot;ND&;quot; (no distance) in the finals. Gaines also wrote that five girls refused to participate. Blaze News reported that the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals just days prior to the meet ruled in a 2-1 decision that a West Virginia law requiring every student athlete to participate in accordance with their biological sex violates the Title IX rights of Becky Pepper-Jackson — the student against whom the girls protested. Pepper-Jackson — a biological male — has been living as a female and taking puberty blockers for years. AthleticNet said Pepper-Jackson of Bridgeport won the shot put final at the meet with a toss of 32 feet‚ 9 inches‚ easily besting the second-place finisher by more than three feet. What happened next&;#63;Parents of four of the five protesting girls filed the legal complaint against the Harrison County Board of Education. The complaint states the girls attended an April 24 press conference addressing their protest. Attendees included Gaines and state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and Auditor J.B. McCuskey‚ along with several Republicans from the state Senate and House of Delegates‚ the complaint states. The complaint also states that the next day — Thursday — the father of one of the girls &;quot;spoke with Lincoln Middle School principal Lori Scott‚&;quot; who told him that the girls who protested &;quot;would not be permitted to compete in a scheduled track and field meet on April 27‚ 2024.&;quot; The complaint also states that a father of another girl spoke with coach Dawn Riestenberg‚ who &;quot;informed him that his daughter would not be allowed to participate in the scheduled track and field meet on April 27.&;quot; The complaint adds that Riestenberg told the dad that the girls were barred from the meet because it was her job “to score points for the track team‚” which the complaint says correlates to &;quot;the minor student athletes’ protest and subsequent appearance at a press conference to the decision to ban them from competition.&;quot; The complaint states that the protesting girls &;quot;are being punished&;quot; by the school board &;quot;for exercising their rights to freedom of speech and expression under the Constitution of West Virginia.&;quot; The complaint was filed Friday — the day before the April 27 meet from which the girls allegedly were barred — and seeks no monetary damages‚ only &;quot;injunctive relief.&;quot; State Attorney General Morrisey filed an amicus brief Friday in support of the parents' complaint. “The only thing this decision does is teach these children to keep their mouths shut and not disagree with what they saw as unfairness‚” Morrisey said in a news release‚ according to WBOY-TV. “That is outrageous and it tramples these students’ rights to freedom of speech and expression.” Apparently‚ the complaint and even support from the state attorney general were not enough. AthleticNet records show that none of the Lincoln Middle School girls listed in the complaint took part in the shot put competition at the Mid Mountain 10 Championships on April 27. In addition‚ while it's been reported that the protesting girls were barred from competition for a longer period of time‚ all the girls in the complaint are listed on the shot put stat sheet from a Monday invitational meet. The school board on Tuesday didn't immediately reply to Blaze News' request for comment on the complaint. Campus Agitators and Their Supporters Distort the Nature of Free Speech

Free speech does not require schools to exempt anti-Israel students and faculty from preexisting policies the protesters knowingly violate.
