The program follows the Queen guitarist on his decade-long opposition to the controversial badger cull, implemented to curb the spread of the disease in cattle. May and his team have organized marches, protests, and a petition to end the practice. The culling of badgers in England began over a decade ago to protect cattle. It has caused a divide between wildlife activists and farmers, whose livelihoods depend on the health of their cattle herds. A Kurt Cobain plaque at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle has generated a debate over the wording describing the late Nirvana frontman’s death in ’94. The exhibit covering the “27 Club,” musicians who perished at the young age, stated the Cobain had “un-alived himself” at 27. The term is an alternative to using “died by suicide,” to avoid censorship on various social media platforms. The museum added a placard that discussed the social context of the word “un-alive” in speaking about mental health.
