The shadow was dark and ill-defined, despite the surrounding area being relatively in focus. Looked to be about 4-5 feet tall, roundish. Roughly human-shaped, but not quite right.I received the following account:"I have been working in the woods for a living here in the western US lately as a fire lookout in a remote location. I’m talking a 3-mile hike to a mostly abandoned dirt road, and another hour's drive before you even hit the pavement. This was last summer.It was around 11pm on a moonless night. Pitch black outside and the lights of the town 30 miles away have mostly dimmed. It was a relatively calm night, with very little wind. The tower sits atop a more or less bald spot atop a lower peak in the middle of a burn scar. There’s not much within the immediate area besides some long grass and a smattering of younger fir trees.At around 11pm, I’m sitting under the glow of a propane light out on the porch, finishing a book. I suddenly heard a rustling coming down the hill to the south, about 20 degrees to the right, where there’s less to see. It was just barely audible and sounded like it was approximately 300 feet away. It was very sudden and sent a shiver up my spine. I went back inside and grabbed my flashlight to have a look around from the catwalk. Nothing at all out there in that direction that I could immediately detect.And then I saw it.Well, saw something. To this day I’m still not certain what it was, but what I do know is that it wasn’t a trick of the light or of my eyes. I looked at that exact spot the next few nights and never saw it again. I know my home like the back of my hand. Every tree. Every shrub.Out in the distance, next to a lone boundary tree, was a vague shape. Dark and ill-defined, despite the surrounding area being relatively in focus. Looked to be about 4-5 feet tall, roundish. Definitely wider than the tree. Roughly human-shaped, but not quite right. Like it was some memory of what a human looks like from someone who hasn’t seen another in a long time. Hunched. I watched it for what felt like forever. It didn’t move. Not initially. After a bit, it shifted slowly to my right, behind the tree.And then it was gone. And I never saw it again. I would’ve been able to see it behind the skinny tree, and if it went down the hill or side hill. As I said, this relatively small snag was on its own, on a relatively gentle downslope.Now, this is an area with a lot of animals. Mostly whitetail deer and wild cows. We have some black bears, some elk, some cougars, and some wolves, but they don’t tend to let themselves be seen. And they tend to skitter off when they learn they’re being observed. I’ve seen the predators before, but never that close to my tower. The whitetails and elk come up, but there’s little in terms of food, and people are known to come here.We also have visitors and hunters, but my location in particular is only really known to locals and doesn’t exist on public maps. The “official” start of the extremely overgrown, hard-to-follow, and obviously abandoned trail is about 2 miles after a locked and unmarked gate. Hunters don’t tend to come up because the animals don’t tend to come close. Poachers wouldn’t because they’re aware we report to law enforcement.It still freaks me out a little to this day. The son of an important Ethiopian official suddenly disappears. Exactly 6 months later the boy manifests at the exact location and looks the same. This is the craziest phenomenon true story, and it came from my Dad. 1960s in Ethiopia, my Dad is just a child (10 years old) at the time playing with his best friend Gabriel after school. They were playing in the fenced backyard of my dad's house. My dad turns his back for a second then turns to look back at his friend and Gabriel is gone. It's important to note that my dad and Gabriel were from the top 1% of Ethiopia's ruling elite, my dad's father was the Minister of the Interior of Ethiopia, and Gabriel's father was a 4-star General of Ethiopia. The backyard Gabriel disappeared from had 10-foot bricked walls with armed guards patrolling on the outside.A couple of hours pass, and his parents, my dad's parents, and guards are searching but no Gabriel. 48 hours pass, and now there is a nationwide search for this important General's kid, it's on the news, and police are searching door to door describing him and what he was wearing when he disappeared (he was wearing his private school uniform, white shirt, brown pants). Helicopters even searched the countryside looking for him, but still nothing. A month passes, then 2 then 4, and people start losing hope that he would ever be found and think the worst.EXACTLY 6 MONTHS to the day he disappeared, Gabriel appeared back in my dad's backyard. He was wearing the same white shirt private school uniform and it was still clean, he looked exactly the same as when he disappeared. This is where it starts to get weird, once they confirmed he was okay they started asking where he had been. He said a couple of nice men took him on a trip, he was in a white room that glowed and other children were there from different countries, he said he was surprised that the nice men who looked like white guys could speak Ethiopian and he could understand what the other children were saying even though they were not Ethiopian.The white glowing room had no windows and the doors disappeared into the walls, there were buttons on the walls and if a kid pushed them a bed would come out of the wall. He said he was then all of a sudden in a city, that was glowing, clean, and cars were flying around him. He said there were people there but they looked strange, like us but different. One nice man was still with him and took him to a tall building, where he said he had to stay there for a while, but showed him a room that he could use for entertainment. Gabriel said, he could push a button and the room itself goes places, an open field, the beach, the room itself even flies. He said after a couple of hours he was taken back to Ethiopia and appeared in the backyard, he thought he was only gone a couple hours total. No one believed him, and Ethiopia being a super religious country, most adults around him thought he got possessed by the devil. Gabriel even was forced to see a priest to get the evil spirits out of him. My dad still kept in contact with him throughout their lives, Gabriel got a doctorate in Physics and I believe works in Holland." A Wisconsin resident details an unexplained sighting and a few other oddities associated with a fishing cabin that his family owned when he was younger.I received the following account:"Hello. Thanks for reading this. When I was 12 years old my family bought a fishing cabin in Chippewa County, Wisconsin about 70 miles from our home. On our first visit to stay in this cabin, it was kind of a work vacation, meaning we were painting and fixing stuff as well as fishing. One of the people who lived near this cabin came over to say hi and introduce herself. During her visit, she told us, "Don't be afraid of the purple glowing mist you will see. It's just from the UFOs and it won't hurt you." All of us kids snickered at this while elbowing each other so my mom chased us off and apologized to the woman. She later yelled at us for being rude.Two nights later we were out night fishing with our dad. The stars were amazing-looking without the urban light pollution and we were all pointing at different constellations and challenging each other to name them. My youngest brother pointed to a perfect circle of about 8 bright stars and asked, "What are those called?" We all kind of froze and stared because, well, there is no such constellation, yet here it was. While we were looking at it all the 'stars' took off silently in different directions and vanished over all the surrounding horizons.We ran. Looking back it was stupid to run. I mean the things were already gone. But we were spooked and we ran as fast as we could back to the cabin where mom was sleeping. About half the way there our dad overtook us and ran straight into the cabin ahead of us, slamming the door. When we got in the cabin he told us, "Just shut up and go to bed." He sounded angry so we did just that. The next morning at breakfast when we tried to talk about it Dad angrily said that 'he didn't remember any of that and to stop with the stupid stories.' My sister asked, "Why did you run then?" He said that he was 'tired' and wanted to get to bed was all.He was 'tired' so he ran? My dad could be a real naive sometimes. This wasn't the only time we 'saw things' in the sky while staying there, but it was the most interesting. We tried on a few occasions to get pictures, but it was the early 60s, and camera's sucked half the time back then. At least the cheap kid cameras we had did. We were afraid to ask to use Dad's good camera for that. We only had that cabin for a few years when my dad suddenly sold it. We never could get him to talk about that night. The SS Ourang Medan was a reported ghost ship from 1948 near Indonesia. The vessel was supposedly discovered adrift after briefly broadcasting an SOS.In February 1948, macabre distress calls were picked up by numerous ships near Indonesia. The chilling message was, "All officers including the captain are dead lying in the chartroom and bridge. Possibly whole crew dead." This message was followed by indecipherable Morse code then one final grisly message... "I die."Through triangulation, the ships identified the vessel as the Dutch freighter SS Ourang Medan and located its approximate position within the straits of Malacca. Of the two American merchant ships that heard the Ourang Medan’s grim message, the 6,507tn Silver Star was the nearest and she raced to the aid of the stricken vessel.When the rescue vessel arrived on the scene a few hours later, they tried to hail the Ourang Medan but there was no response to their hand and whistle signals. A boarding party was sent to the ship and what they found was a frightening sight that has made the Ourang Medan one of the strangest and scariest ghost ship stories of all time. All the crew and officers of the Ourang Medan were dead. As a May 1952 report of the Proceedings of the Merchant Marine Council put it: “Their frozen faces were upturned to the sun, the mouths were gaping open and the eyes staring…” Even the ship's dog was dead, found snarling at some unseen enemy. A trip to the communications room revealed the author of the SOS messages, also dead, his hand still on the Morse sending key, eyes wide open and teeth bared. When nearing the bodies in the boiler room, the rescue crew felt a chill though the temperature was near 110°F. Strangely, there was no sign of wounds or injuries on any of the bodies.The decision was made to tow the ship back to port but before they could get underway, smoke began rolling up from the hull. The rescue crew left the ship and barely had time to cut the tow lines before the Ourang Medan exploded with such force that she "lifted herself from the water and swiftly sank”.To this day, the exact fate of the Ourang Medan and her crew remains a mystery. Some say that pirates killed the crew and sabotaged the ship, others claim that she was transporting an illicit cargo of chemicals such as potassium cyanide and nitroglycerine (both of which become dangerous when combined with sea water). The condition of the bodies found aboard and the haunting distress call, however, has led to more rampant speculation...ranging from the inhalation of carbon monoxide to some kind of nefarious UFO intervention. In the end, nobody really knows what happened.Then again, did the Ourang Medan ever concretely exist? The first mention of the Ourang Medan was in a publication put out by the US National Coast Guard. One would think that meant sources were well documented. But perhaps this isn’t the case.Several authors note their inability to find any mention of the case in Lloyd’s Shipping Register. Furthermore, no registration records for a ship by the name of Ourang Medan could be located in various countries, including the Netherlands. While some investigators of this case state that the identity of the Silver Star, which was reported to have been involved in the failed rescue attempt, has been established with some certainty, the lack of information on the sunken ship itself has given rise to suspicion about the origins and credibility of the account. Other researchers have put forward the possibility that accounts of, among others, the date, location, names of the ships involved, and circumstances of the accident might have been inaccurate or exaggerated, or that the story might be completely fictitious.What really happened to the Ourang Medan? Did the ship ever exist? No record of it anywhere would certainly seem to indicate that it didn’t. Was there a cover-up because of top-secret cargo? Make the Trump Tax Cuts Permanent As JFK, Ronald Reagan and others have proven throughout history, lower tax rates lead to more growth, more investment and more jobs. The Trump tax cuts meant that a typical family of four earning $75,000 a year saw their tax bill fall by half—a benefit valued at more than $2,000. And the corporate tax rate fell from 35%—the highest in the world—to 21%, bringing jobs and capital to America. Trump has promised to make all these tax cuts permanent. Why? Because they worked almost exactly as we anticipated they would. 3. Replace Welfare with Work Growth will require more able-bodied Americans getting off welfare and into jobs. Welfare—which includes cash assistance, public housing, food stamps, disability payments, unemployment benefits and Medicaid—needs to be a hand up, not a handout. 4. Use America’s Abundant Natural Resources America has well more than $50 trillion of natural resources that are accessible with existing drilling and mining technologies. This is a vast storehouse of wealth that far surpasses what any other nation is endowed with. We can use the royalty payments and leases to reduce our national debt while creating hundreds of thousands of jobs. 5. Cut Medical Costs by Demanding Health Care Price Transparency One of many ways to bring health care costs down to consumers (and taxpayers, who pay half the costs) is to require hospitals, pharmacies, doctors and health clinics to list prices for what they are charging. The Committee to Unleash Prosperity estimates that $1 trillion to $2 trillion could be reduced from health care costs, with no reduction in the quality of care, by allowing consumers to shop around on the internet for the best price—just as we do when we buy groceries, a home or a car. This will foster free market competition and lower prices. 6. Allow School Choice for All Families Test scores in America have been plummeting. Kids are graduating from high school—if at all—without even being able to read the diploma. America no longer ranks in the top 10 in many academic achievement ratings. A child can get a better education at half the cost in the Catholic school system and in many charters. Trump has endorsed universal school choice for all children regardless of income or ethnicity or race. This is the civil rights issue of our time. 7. Implement a Pro-America Immigration Policy Trump is committed to securing our border, but we also need legal immigrants through a merit-based immigration system. This visa system would select immigrants based on their skills, talents, investment capital, English language ability and education level. These characteristics all presage success in America. 8. Revive America’s Great Cities Our once-great cities in America—from New York to Chicago to Detroit to San Francisco to Seattle—have come to look like war zones. Crime has run rampant. Businesses and people and capital are fleeing and leaving the poorest Americans—mostly minorities—stranded with tragically limited opportunities other than working at Walmart or McDonald’s for minimum wage. Since 2020, our major cities have lost nearly 1 million residents. And tens of thousands of businesses. Trump wants to revitalize our cities and abandoned rural areas through deregulation, reduction in tax rates, changes in zoning policies and infrastructure investments. 9. Pull the U.S. Out of the Paris Climate Change Treaty and Other Anti-America Agreements We must end American participation in globalist treaties that hurt America most. This includes the Paris climate accords—a treaty with which most other nations have failed to comply, yet which places huge burdens on American companies and workers. Trump also has pledged to end global taxation—such as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s global minimum tax. Do we even need a United Nations? 10. Finally, Drain the Swamp There is a reason why three of the five wealthiest counties in America are in or around Washington, D.C. Washington is getting rich at the expense of the rest of us. Fewer than 10% of overpaid federal workers (of which there are more than 2 million) are working full time in the office even though COVID-19 ended three years ago. These are swamp employees that often get paid $150,000 or more a year. Fire them if they don’t show up. And relocate federal agencies in other cities. These are admittedly bold aspirations for an economic transformation toward freedom and free enterprise. But the one person who can get it done is Trump. The 2024 presidential election dragged on for what seemed like forever and was certainly a rollercoaster of emotions for Democrats. During all that time, the liberal ladies of ABC’s The View had made several proclamations and predictions about the state of the race that didn’t age as well as they hoped. From high-pitched declarations that “the candidate is Joe” to claims that Democrats would cure America of their Trump amnesia to conspiracy theories of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. trying to “buy” the election, their attempts to manifest a Democratic victory fell flat. But in other instances, their worst fears came to be realized. Presented here in chronological order are some of The View’s poorly aged and worst manifestations from the 2024 presidential election cycle. ‘The Candidate Is Joe!’ Hostin SCREAMS at View Cast to Shut Up, Get Behind Biden In responding to comments by former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) about President Biden being “past his sell-by date,” co-host Sunny Hostin lost herself. “You know, I do not like when Republicans tell Democrats what they need to do in their house,” Hostin indignantly chided. “Why don’t Republicans sweep their own Trump trash first in this house and then give Democrats advice.” She eventually took to screeching about how there wasn’t going to be another Democratic candidate and how Biden was supposedly such a great president: HOSTIN: There isn't going to be another candidate! The candidate is Joe Biden! GOLDBERG: So, suck it up! HOSTIN: He has run this country well! He has so much to run on! He's got a better economy, inflation is down, job growth, more job growth than any other president in the past couple of decades! We all know who eventually became the Democratic nominee, but even in the short term Hostin’s declaration didn’t pan out.     Sunny Hostin Hatches Plot: Ditch Mentally Failing Biden at Democratic Convention Just three days after telling everyone to shut up and get behind Biden, the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur released his report had Hostin back peddling on Biden’s candidacy. In the report, Hur explained that he wasn’t going to charge Biden for taking classified documents with him after leaving the Obama administration because of his severe mental decline. With this new information, Hostin was desperately trying to cook up ways to replace him. Interestingly enough, she wanted to ditch him at the convention and install a Gavin Newsom/Kamala Harris ticket (Click “expand”): HOSTIN: But there is an off-ramp here. And I think one of the off-ramps we need to think about is: once all of the delegates are received, the DNC will be certifying the delegates, right? And the count and Gavin Newsom can be swapped out if Joe Biden decides to step aside. FARAH GRIFFIN: Or another candidate. It can be done. I think it’s important the public knows. HOSTIN: I think Gavin Newsom can win. BEHAR: I know, I don't think Kamala Harris will be so happy about that and I think the black community might turn. HOSTIN: I don’t think they’re going turn if she remains the vice president of the United states. The View Demands Trump Be Censored During Debates Since They Endanger Biden Long before the infamous debate that led to Biden’s swift removal from the top of the Democratic ticket, The View was demanding that former President Trump be isolated and censored in debates because it would be a danger to Biden’s chances. Sara Haines suggested that “normally my gut would tell me it's good for democracy” to allow the candidates to debate freely, but she wanted so one to control Trump’s mic and limit his ability to move around the stage: The problem is, for the reasons you just spelled out, Donald Trump comes on and without -- I wish they would put him in phone booths and cut mics after a certain amount of time, because in addition to the fact-checking, he overtalks, gaslights, and everything else. So, oftentimes, the comparison to Donald Trump makes anyone look less-than on some level. You know? Little did she know that Biden was his own worst enemy on the debate stage.     Karl Reassures The View: Dems Will Cure America’s ‘Collective Amnesia’ of Trump Being under the ABC News umbrella, they have easy access to the network’s stable of anti-Trump journalists. So, when chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl was on the show in early March, he tried to reassure everyone that the Democrats were going to cure the American electorate of their “collective amnesia” and misremembering of what it was like under a Trump presidency: There's been a collective amnesia about what it was like when Trump was president. It's why I wrote Tired of Winning; I wanted people to be aware of what really happened, particularly at the end (...) And look, you do have that collective amnesia that we talked about. Democrats are going to be spending the next eight months making sure people know exactly what Donald Trump is all about. And, you know, he's been kind of off in the shadows. I mean, there has been coverage of his criminal cases and everything, but we're at the beginning of a very long presidential campaign, and, again -- I'll say it again. Don't put much stock into that polls tell you today about how people will vote in November. The View's Low IQ Conspiracy Theorists: RFK Trying to 'Buy' Election In March, when Biden was still their nominee, moderator Whoop Goldberg and Hostin lived in fear of RFK Jr. upsetting the balance of the race. But not in the usual way partisans fear third party candidates nibbling at the edges and costing a candidate. No. According to them, Kennedy was trying to “buy” the election by picking a billionaire to be his running mate: HOSTIN: Didn't he just choose a billionaire vice president? Who can help him get on the ballots in different states in battleground states. GOLDBERG: Here's the thing. HOSTIN: That's pretty smart. GOLDBERG: Yeah, it's one more bad message for folks that says you can buy the election (…) You're not supposed to be able to buy a message -- you're not supposed to be able to buy an election. HOSTIN: Buy your way onto a ballot. GOLDBERG: You’re not supposed to be able to do that. The View Cheers Debate Limitations: Having an Audience ‘Doesn't Serve’ Biden When Biden and Trump finally settled on a pair of debates and the rules, the liberal ladies of The View were excited to hear what some of the decisions; particularly their decision to not have an audience and the mics cut. Hostin actually proclaimed that “Biden clearly has the edge.” Haines cheered the decision not to have an audience because “it doesn’t serve him” to get their reaction. “It was smart of Biden to get ahead of this by challenging Trump and I think it's a recognition that they're neck and neck in the polls,” boasted faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin. Joy Behar also seemed to struggle with understanding that Trump had already agreed to the rules, but repeatedly insisted that he would “stack the audience with Trumpers.” The View: Biden Needs to Show ‘Vitality’ at Debate, Trump Must Be Sane In the days before the first infamous debate, Farah Griffin said in order for Biden to look good “he needs to take head on the issue of age and vitality. He needs to show up. He needs to look forceful and commands of facts.” Meanwhile, “Donald Trump needs to appear not crazy…” Fake Republican Ana Navarro chimed in to hilariously claim that the Trump team’s deposition of Biden as a bumbling, decrepit old man were false and fabricated: But you know I think Republicans and Trump and his minions have done themselves such a disservice with all of these edited cut and spliced videos that they’re spreading around of Biden seeming lost and decrepit. Because it’s -- they've made it so they've lowered the bar so that if Joe Biden shows up, and doesn't keel over on his way to the podium, he's had a good night. And, you know, and I also think that it's part of the reason that you now see Trump saying, oh, he's on drugs. Which, by the way, I can't believe we have to say this, but it's patently false. Everything you just saw in that video, there is no evidence for, it's absolutely false. He's making it up.     But we all know how that debate turned out.
