MRC President Brent Bozell Blasts NewsGuard co-CEOs in Open Letter

MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell blasted the top brass at leftist internet traffic cop NewsGuard for once again trying to malign research exposing its bias rather than addressing its own shortcomings.  NewsGuard co-CEOs Steven Brill and Gordon Crovitz spear-headed their company’s “Social Impact 2023” annual report in which they whined about MRC’s third study exposing that the firm drastically favors leftist media outlets in its ratings. MRC’s latest analysis‚ using the AllSides Media Bias Chart‚ showed how NewsGuard blessed left-leaning media (e.g. The New York Times‚ The Washington Post‚ TIME‚ CNN and Vox) with a stellar average score of 91/100 while slapping right-leaning media (e.g. New York Post‚ The Washington Times‚ Breitbart and Washington Examiner) with an abysmally low 65/100 score.  NewsGuard panned the analysis as “fatally flawed” and arbitrarily accused MRC — AGAIN — of having “cherry-picked” the websites we researched and analyzed using its so-called “apolitical ratings.” That’s despite the fact that the MRC relied on another organization’s list entirely. Bozell blasted Brill and Crovitz in response: “Thank you for recognizing the work of the Media Research Center in your annual report‚ even if it was to mischaracterize our widely recognized study of NewsGuard’s bias.”  He continued‚ calling out the ratings firm co-CEOs for their blatant dishonesty: “Rather than address the obvious flaws in your system‚ you have again attempted to conceal from investors your firm’s demonstrable bias by falsely claiming that our reviewers ‘cherry-picked’ the media outlets analyzed in our work. As explained in the third study‚ which again exposes your organization’s broken ratings system‚ MRC Free Speech America relied on the data provided by an actual independent ratings firm‚ AllSides‚ to evaluate NewsGuard’s work.”   MRC didn’t pre-determine how the results of any of the analyses would turn out. And after three studies‚ the needle of NewsGuard’s leftist bias has barely budged. Bozell pointed out that Brill and Crovitz shouldn’t be in the business of complaining about how misinformation is supposedly threatening democracy‚ given that Brill himself notoriously spread misinformation of his own. Bozell wrote: “For example‚ contrary to your assertion that ‘there’s a high likelihood [the Hunter Biden laptop] story is a hoax‚ and maybe even a hoax perpetrated by the Russians‚’ even the Biden Justice Department now admits that the laptop is Hunter’s and its contents are his. Nevertheless‚ your ratings firm continues to prop up the legacy media outlets that maligned the New York Post’s bombshell reporting on this story while downgrading the firms that exposed the Biden bribery scandal.”  Read Bozell’s entire letter to NewsGuard.

HUH? Tapper Recalls 'Clinton Era' Being 'Somewhat More Reality Based'

CNN’s Jake Tapper traveled over to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday to look back at his career and proclaim that “the Bill Clinton era” was “somewhat more reality-based” than the current one. Kimmel asked “how long have you been covering politics in Washington?” and after Tapper replied “like a quarter century‚” Kimmel further wondered‚ “And it started-- it was a different job back then?”     Tapper affirmed that it was‚ or at least he pretended like it was‚ “It was a different job. I mean‚ it started during the Bill Clinton era. But yeah‚ it was -- it was somewhat more reality-based than it is -- than it is today‚ yeah. Clinton was impeached for being a perjurer and fought over the definition of “is.” If anything‚ the Clinton era set the stage for what Tapper and Kimmel lament‚ but Kimmel followed up as if Tapper’s observation was completely normal‚ “That is difficult‚ the fact that it is‚ like‚ that we're in a time now where somebody can -- you can have evidence‚ you can see it on videotape‚ you can hear it with your own ears‚ and people go‚ ‘No‚ that didn't happen.’” Tapper‚ who dated Monica Lewinsky at one point‚ focused on some recent internet silliness: It's bizarre. Like‚ I know you've commented a bunch of timed on this Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce insanity‚ this conspiracy theory and it's so bizarre and one of the reasons I think it happens is because the people on the far-right who come up with this nonsense‚ their incentive structure is‚ come up with nonsense for clicks and then the people downstream from them‚ the politicians‚ don't understand it's a completely different incentive structure. They're supposed to be grounded in facts and reality and things that matter to the American people‚ not deranged conspiracy theories about Tay-Tay.  It is easy to pick on the internet‚ but Tapper claimed in 2019 that “I don't know anybody [from CNN] who got anything wrong” on the Trump-Russia Collusion narrative. Does Tapper watch his own network? Here is a transcript for the January 31-taped show: ABC Jimmy Kimmel Live! 2/1/2024 12:26 AM ET JIMMY KIMMEL: Jake‚ how long have you been covering politics in Washington?  JAKE TAPPER: Oh‚ like a quarter century‚ something like that. KIMMEL: Quarter century.  TAPPER: Late '90s‚ yeah‚ yeah. KIMMEL: And it started-- it was a different job back then?  TAPPER: It was a different job. I mean‚ it started during the Bill Clinton era. But yeah‚ it was -- it was somewhat more reality-based than it is -- than it is today‚ yeah. KIMMEL: That is difficult‚ the fact that it is‚ like‚ that we're in a time now where somebody can -- you can have evidence‚ you can see it on videotape‚ you can hear it with your own ears‚ and people go‚ "No‚ that didn't happen."  TAPPER: It's bizarre. Like‚ I know you've commented a bunch of timed on this Taylor Swift--- KIMMEL: Right. KIMMEL: --Travis Kelce insanity‚ this conspiracy theory and it's so bizarre and one of the reasons I think it happens is because the people on the far-right who come up with this nonsense‚ their incentive structure is‚ come up with nonsense for clicks and then the people downstream from them‚ the politicians‚ don't understand it's a completely different incentive structure. They're supposed to be grounded in facts and reality and things that matter to the American people‚ not deranged conspiracy theories about Tay-Tay.

Brent Bozell Calls Out Big Tech Execs’ Bluff: ‘Yes‚ Mark Zuckerberg‚ You Can Be Sued’

MRC President and Founder Brent Bozell lambasted Big Tech executives over their inexplicable failure to take decisive action against sexually exploitative content all while censoring conservatives. On Thursday‚ Bozell joined WMAL radio host Larry O’Connor to weigh in on the headline-making testimony from five Big Tech CEOs before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Bozell hailed the bipartisan senators who grilled the executives of TikTok‚ Snap‚ Discord‚ META and X (formerly Twitter) over their reluctance to back legislation that would protect children from being exploited on social media platforms. “Josh Hawley pointed out something‚ which is marvelous‚ which was that Facebook has no problem at all censoring conservatives‚” Bozell told O’Connor‚ later recounting how Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act has broadly shielded social media companies from legal liability for criminal acts perpetrated by their users. The senators proposed amending Section 230 to allow victims of exploitative content to file civil lawsuits against Big Tech companies.  You May Also Like! ‘Agreement on The Hill: Bipartisan Senators Grill Big Tech CEOs Over Child Sexual Exploitation’ There was a “lot of chest-thumping” about Section 230‚ Bozell said. “If you amended Section 230‚ you could do it in such a way that they would have all the protections they have right now‚ provided‚ provided they did the most basic things stopping sexual exploitation [and] stopping violent crime‚” Bozell later added. X CEO Linda Yaccarino‚ Snap CEO Evan Spiegel‚ Discord CEO Jason Citron‚ TikTok CEO Shou Chew and META CEO Mark Zuckerberg faced probing questions from senators on what actions – if any – they have taken to protect children from being potentially introduced to drugs and sexual content online. While the CEOs voiced willingness to back legislation to curb some potentially harmful content‚ their openness fell short when discussing amendments to Section 230. “The First Amendment is not all-inclusive‚” Bozell said‚ referring to sexually exploitative content. “If you amended Section 230 to say‚ ‘We'll give you those‚ those protections provided you provide free speech with these‚ these walls that you put up. If you do that‚ then nothing changes. But if you don't do that‚ by gum‚ you lose that 230 protection — and yes‚ Mark Zuckerberg‚ you can be sued.’” Conservatives are under attack! AMERICAN HOSTAGE CRISIS: ABC‚ CBS‚ NBC Spend Only 28 Seconds (In a Month) Blaming Biden

AMERICAN HOSTAGE CRISIS: ABC‚ CBS‚ NBC Spend Only 28 Seconds (In a Month) Blaming Biden

If Donald Trump or George W. Bush had a continuing hostage crisis that had lasted well over 100 days‚ you can bet the leftist media would plaster their shows with criticism of those administrations‚ probably punctuated with on-screen graphics counting how many days the Americans have been held captive. Something like: “Americans Held Hostage: Day 117.” So with six American hostages still being held captive by Hamas how much time (in just the month of January) have the networks aired blaming President Joe Biden and his administration for not having brought them home? Just 28 seconds.  MRC analysts looked at ABC‚ CBS‚ NBC evening‚ morning and Sunday roundtable shows coverage of just the Hamas terrorists holding Americans captive and found the networks spent a total of 18 minutes‚ 6 seconds on the crisis.  Of those 18 minutes‚ only 28 seconds of criticism of Biden or his administration was aired. Even then the critiques weren’t very strong.      [It should be noted that MRC analysts focused on the coverage that mentioned the Americans. Any coverage that only focused on Israeli hostages wasn’t counted.]   On the January 9 edition of NBC Nightly News‚ correspondent Andrea Mitchell gently prodded Secretary of State Antony Blinken for in the following 22 second exchange: “I met with some of them [families of American hostages] after they met with you. They’re angry. ‘Where is the big stick?’ they said. ‘Why can’t you save our six children?’ How do you answer that?” Blinken responded: “Well first‚ no one can put themselves fully in the shoes of the families of the hostages. The hard part is the enemy gets a vote‚ Hamas.” The January 18 edition of NBC’s Today show aired six seconds of the father of one of the Americans putting pressure on the Biden administration: “We are pressing for action‚ from anybody that we see‚ whether it’s State Department or FBI.”  That’s it. That’s the sum total coverage of anything resembling criticism or putting the onus on the Biden administration for the hostages still not being returned. There was no criticism aired on ABC or CBS.  In terms of coverage devoted to the American hostages overall‚ NBC aired the most in January (13 minutes‚ 8 seconds)‚ ABC spent 3 minutes‚ 53 seconds on the captive Americans. CBS only spent 1 minute‚ 5 seconds on the American hostages and their families’ pleas for help.  The ordeal is horrific‚ but make no mistake — if a Republican was in the White House the networks would be exploiting the hostage crisis for partisan reasons. The fact that they’ve been reluctant to criticize Biden demonstrates how much they are in the tank for his re-election.

‘Do Not Count Her Out’; CBS‚ Lefty Authors Gush Over ‘Badass‚’ ‘Tough’ Fani Willis

‘Do Not Count Her Out’; CBS‚ Lefty Authors Gush Over ‘Badass‚’ ‘Tough’ Fani Willis

Monday’s CBS Mornings featured longtime journalists Michael Isikoff and Dan Klaidman‚ the co-authors of the new anti-Trump book Find Me the Votes‚ focused specifically on the Trump-Georgia case.  Not surprisingly‚ the authors and co-hosts not only reassured viewers the case against former President Trump and his co-defendants won’t fall apart if Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis and Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade are forced off the case due to their rumored relationship‚ but swooned over Willis as a “badass‚” “force of nature‚” resilient‚” and “tough” woman.     The first half of the interview focused on the case itself and playing yet another phone call between Trump demanding his team call then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to demand he help them overturn the vote in Michigan. After Michael Isikoff claimed Georgia‚ however‚ “was ground zero for what was arguably the greatest anti-democratic plot in American history”‚ co-host Tony Dokoupil pivoted to Willis‚ noting “the book is really a profile of” her as “a force of nature‚ widely respected‚ but at this particular moment is also under a cloud of doubt because of an apparently improper relationship.” Klaidman argued that she had remained silent was unfortunate given the “void you know you’re getting this feeding frenzy” when no one is saying anything‚ but stemmed from “a classic tension between the PR-minded people in her office and the lawyers.” After the stimulations that Willis is certainly telling herself‚ “what in the world was I thinking” and it “was a serious lapse of judgment if it happened‚” Klaidman did his best to reassure his fellow liberals both at the table and watching that the case won’t be going anywhere: [B]ut that said‚ it has no bearing on the underlying case itself. These 19 people were indicted for conspiracy crimes to overturn the election. And the fact that she was maybe having an affair with someone or an improper relationship with someone in her office has no bearing on the case. And nor should it I think in the end disqualify her because there isn’t really a conflict. Co-host and Democratic donor Gayle King had a natural reaction‚ which was boasting she’s “fascinated by Fani Willis” seeing as how “she’s described as a badass who really knows her stuff” and “vowed to enforce the law without fear or favor.” King even touted her relationship with Wade‚ claiming he “was a well-respected judge when she was getting prosecutors” who agreed “to take this case” when “[n]obody wanted” it. Based on The Washington Post’s reporting‚ Wade’s resume isn’t exactly expansive and solid. Isikoff had to add his praise and assurances Trump will still be prosecuted before Klaidman interjected to swoon over how many times and for how long the two interviewed Willis‚ whom he hailed as a “complex” and “very human” “force of nature” who was robbed of glory on the night the indictment was announced by a death threat that required a body double for her to leave her office (click “expand”): ISIKOFF: Oh‚ she is the prime expert in Fulton County for prosecuting RICO cases. She’s done it before. She was the star litigator in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. We’ll see how this plays out. But so far‚ there’s nothing that suggests it. KLAIDMAN: Let me just say one more thing about Fani Willis. You know‚ we interviewed her a half a dozen times over many hours over the two years of reporting this book. She is exactly as Tony said‚ a force of nature. She is also complex and she is very human. One thing I will say about her is do not count her out. She is tough and resilient and she has been through a lot even before this happened and one of the most dramatic stories in our story in our book‚ which has not come out until now‚ I’ll let Isikoff tell us‚ illustrates this. ISIKOFF: Yes‚ it was the night of the indictment. And she does this midnight press conference. The entire press is there. Then she goes back right before the indictment. They had picked up a threat‚ a possible assassination threat on a MAGA website. The best time to shoot her is when she’s leaving the building.  BURLESON: Mmmm. ISIKOFF: Fani Willis goes back to her office‚ takes off her business suit and pearls and puts on t-shirt — KING: Sweatpants‚ a baseball cap. ISIKOFF: — sweatpants‚ a baseball cap –  KING: Yes. ISIKOFF: — a body double — KING: Yeah. ISIKOFF: — then with a Kevlar bulletproof vest — DOKOUPIL: Yeah. ISIKOFF: — puts on the Fani Willis suit‚ goes out. Fani Willis is smuggled out the back door of the office. BURLESON: Mmmm. KING: That’s how intensive for her team‚ yeah. DOKOUPIL: She’s safe. ISIKOFF: — for her safety. Three times going to break‚ King had gush over this anti-Trump screed‚ telling Isikoff and Klaidman their book is “so good.” To see the relevant transcript from January 29‚ click here.

Jon Stewart’s most condescending moment ever

Beloved comedian‚ television host‚ and political commentator Jon Stewart is best known for his sarcastic political takes on "The Daily Show‚" which he hosted until 2015. Stewart passed on "The Daily Show" legacy to his successor Trevor Noah — but now‚ he’s about to be back in the saddle as the host again on Comedy Central. But that’s not the only reason Stewart’s name has been gracing the headlines. In a recently resurfaced interview with Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge‚ Stewart revealed his more condescending side regarding child genital mutilation — and conservatives like Dave Rubin aren’t pleased. “Why would the state of Arkansas step in to override parents‚ physicians‚ psychiatrists‚ endocrinologists who have developed guidelines?” Stewart asked Rutledge. “Well‚ I think it’s important that all of those physicians‚ all of those experts‚ for every single one of them‚ there’s an expert that says we don’t need to allow children to be able to take those medications‚” Rutledge shot back before Stewart interjected‚ “But you know that’s not true.” “I don’t know that that’s not true‚” Rutledge says‚ before adding that 98% of those with gender dysphoria are able to move past their issues without medical intervention. “Wow‚” Stewart mocks‚ “that’s an incredibly made up figure.” “You’re suggesting that protecting children means overriding the recommendations of the American Medical Association‚ the American Association of Pediatrics‚ the Endocrine Society‚” he continues. “What an absolutely smug‚ unlikable person‚” Dave Rubin comments‚ disgusted by Stewart’s display. “Why is Jon Stewart so smug about chemically castrating children?” he asks. El Salvadoran president coolly brushes off Ilhan Omar's election meddling‚ then flips her critique

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) took a break from Somali politicking Wednesday to call on the Biden administration to meddle in El Salvador's domestic affairs ahead of its national election. El Salvador's hugely popular president thanked the radical congresswoman for sparing him from her endorsement ahead of his likely re-election Sunday. After indicating precisely what her "attacks" meant to him‚ President Nayib Bukele flipped the script on Omar and other concern-mongers. A 'threat to democracy' supported by 90% of voters Bukele‚ 42‚ has transformed El Salvador from a blood-soaked gangland into a nation with the second-lowest homicide rate in the Americas — all inside a five-year window. There were 51 homicides per 100‚000 in 2018‚ the year prior to Bukele's initial election. The homicide rate fell to 7.8 in 2022 under his leadership‚ such that El Salvador saw fewer homicides that year (495) than were reported in Chicago during the same period (695). The homicide rate in El Salvador last year was reportedly 2.4 per 100‚000. To achieve this end‚ Bukele's administration has taken extreme measures‚ admittedly overstepping and cracking down on some civil rights. His administration has also allegedly thrown over 2% of the adult population behind bars‚ most of whom are supposedly suspected or known gang members. Bukele's crackdown on crime‚ selective suspension of civil liberties‚ and warrantless arrests have earned him the loathing of both Democrats and liberal publications — the Economist said he was poised to "become Latin America's first Millennial dictator." However‚ his ability to bring relative peace to El Salvador has also won him the support of his countrymen. According to Reuters‚ Bukele's approval ratings hover around 90%. The South China Morning Post indicated that a January 2024 opinion poll from the University of Central America's Public Opinion Institute indicated 82% of voters supported Bukele. By way of contrast‚ the latest Economist/YouGov poll put President Joe Biden's disapproval rating at 54%. Tyler Mattiace‚ Americas researcher at Human Rights Watch‚ characterized Bukele as "one of the biggest risks for human rights and for democracy that we see in Latin America right now" but acknowledged the president is popular because of his perceived efficacy. "Bukele is incredibly popular‚" said Mattiace. "We see a growing number of people in countries across Latin America who are supporting this kind of authoritarian populism because they believe that it could be the only way to address rising levels of violence." Bukele's approach might be appealing to those nations that observed the utter failure of leftist Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's "hugs not bullets" approach. Omar gets involved in another foreign election Just days after supporting the re-election of Said Abdullahi Deni‚ head of the northeastern Somali state of Puntland‚ Rep. Ilhan Omar led other leftist Democrats in urging Secretary of State Antony Blinken to "address ongoing threats to democracy and human rights in El Salvador." "President Bukele is amassing power and establishing authoritarian rule in El Salvador. The Members of Congress are urging the State Department to review its relationship with El Salvador and use America's diplomatic influence to defend democratic values‚" said a statement accompanying the letter. Democrats and the liberal media have in recent weeks increasingly conflated democracy and its well-being with electoral results they find preferable. "President Bukele has also‚ during his first term‚ overseen the militarized harassment of the legislature‚ a significant erosion of judicial independence‚ and the de facto criminalization of civil society‚" said the letter. "Much of this persecution has been done with the active complicity of El Salvador's judicial system." While Omar's letter suggested that "it is not the place of the United States government to determine who is eligible to run for President in a foreign country‚ nor to pick winners‚" she nevertheless suggested that the United States lean on El Salvador ahead of its election. The letter tells Blinken to "restrict security assistance and other support for the Salvadoran police and military"; rework aid mechanisms to ensure direct funding to NGOs and "Salvadoran civil society" rather than through intermediaries; denounce the legal mechanism by which Bukele has curbed gang violence; and send "an unequivocal message on the importance of respecting constitutional and democratic norms." "The State Dept must review its relationship with El Salvador and defend democratic values‚" added Omar. "The Salvadoran people deserve free and fair elections without fear of repression." The congresswoman's post was quickly slapped with community notes highlighting that Bukele was democratically elected with a clear majority in 2019; his party secured a majority in the legislative assembly; and a "president can be re-elected in El Salvador if in the 6 months prior to taking office he was not in charge." Bukele thanks Omar Bukele responded to Omar Wednesday on X‚ writing‚ "We are HONORED to receive your attacks‚ just days before OUR election." "I would be very worried if we had your support‚" added Bukele. "Thank you." In addition to retweeting Omar's post‚ ostensibly as a badge of honor‚ Bukele turned Omar's critique around‚ writing‚ "I think the United States should have free and fair elections." I think the United States should have free and fair elections. — (@) The El Salvadoran president continued trolling Omar‚ sharing a critic's comment noting‚ "Democrats ask to interfere in El Salvador's elections so that they are 'clean.' The joke tells itself." Bukele also shared a comment stating‚ "Considering recent history‚ perhaps [Bukele] could send some Salvadorian electoral officials to the US to help ensure free and fair elections." — (@) Milena Mayorga‚ El Salvador's ambassador to the U.S.‚ added‚ "Then they say they do not interfere in our elections." Soon‚ others piled on‚ ridiculing Omar and celebrating Bukele's response. Former Rep. Mayra Flores Vallejo (R-Texas) wrote‚ "We need more Presidents like [Bukele] in the world. @Ilhan doesn't represent America. She has not love or respect for our country." Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) noted that Bukele "is bringing peace and prosperity to El Salvador. He's doing a fantastic job of ridding their streets of violent cartel thugs and fighting for his people!" Roger Kimball‚ editor and publisher of the New Criterion‚ stressed that Bukele‚ "along with Javier Millei‚ is the most impressive leader in the Western hemisphere." Like Blaze News? House Republican silences Jake Tapper with obvious fact after he accuses GOP of 'walking away' from border legislation

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) shut down CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Wednesday for accusing Republicans of "walking away" from a bill that supposedly will address the border crisis. A bipartisan group of senators have spent weeks ironing out the details of legislation that a majority of Republicans say will not make any meaningful difference to alleviate the border crisis. One of the more controversial proposals of the bill would still allow tens of thousands of migrants into the U.S. each month‚ placing any migrant who enters legally with legitimate asylum claims on a pathway to citizenship‚ according to NBC News. The bill‚ moreover‚ would mandate a border "shutdown" if Border Patrol "encounters" an average of 5‚000 migrants per day over a seven-day average. One of the obvious problems with the shutdown trigger is that it may incentivize migrants not to be encountered at all‚ thus becoming "gotaways." Meanwhile‚ President Joe Biden says he will "shut down" the border only if Congress passes the bill. So Lawler did not take kindly to Tapper's accusation on Wednesday that House Republicans are "walking away from this compromise." "First of all‚ Jake‚ nobody's actually seen the final details. And I think that it is necessary for everyone to actually see the details before making a definitive statement on it‚" Lawler told Tapper. After Lawler explained why the border needs to be secured‚ Tapper asked Lawler if he sees the "disconnect" between a yet-to-be-written bill and House Republican opposition to it. Lawler's response ultimately silenced Tapper. "With all due respect‚ you haven't seen the bill. And interestingly‚ over the last few weeks‚ the media has been trying to pressure everyone to agree to a deal that hasn't actually been produced. Why don't we see what the final bill is? And then let's see if they pass it‚ and then we negotiate‚" Lawler told Tapper. "President Biden and the Biden administration actually have authority right now to start to enforce our laws‚ and they're choosing not to. And that is a big part of the problem here‚" he added. Democrats and the media are claiming that Republicans increasingly oppose the Senate bill because former President Donald Trump doesn't want Biden to receive credit for alleviating the border crisis. But the truth is that critics of the bill simply think it will do little — if anything — to solve the crisis. Additionally‚ the bill doesn't provide any accountability for Biden's policies and the president's apparent refusal to use existing authorities to stymie the crisis. Like Blaze News? 'Our purpose is bigger than just football': CJ Stroud responds to NBC Sports editing out his religious remarks

NFL quarterback C.J. Stroud has responded to questions surrounding NBC Sports editing his faith-based remarks following a playoff game victory. The sports network removed Stroud's comment praising God after a win against the Cleveland Browns and posted an edited version of the interview to its social media channels."First and foremost‚ I just want to give all glory and praise to my Lord and Savior‚ Jesus Christ‚" Stroud said in the interview. That sentence was later cut in subsequent posts to focus on remarks about fan support and the city of Houston‚ Texas.Following his team's elimination from the playoffs‚ Stroud spoke to Fox News to address the controversy surrounding the edit."I just really wanted to show love and show people what I stand for. I pray for everybody. I don't really have any feeling towards it‚ I just pray for everyone‚" the quarterback said.Stroud generally took the high road when answering questions and declined to point any fingers or address the issue head-on. The 22-year-old instead opted to signal to a higher purpose that was bigger than football."I feel like of course football is amazing‚ but one day this sport will be done‚ this is our passion‚ and our purpose is bigger than just football‚" he continued. "It's cool to see people use their platform to show their purpose and the Lord. I think we have a really good community of a lot of believers in the league‚ really around the sports world."Watch the latest video at foxnews.com"The more we can do with our platform‚ the better we can make this world‚ and hopefully ... help people if they want the help to find Christ and really understand that God loves you no matter what‚" Stroud added.Stroud is in the running for Offensive Rookie of the Year in the NFL and was recently named an All-Star and will play in the Pro Bowl. The young star also received awards for both the city of Houston's Athlete of the Year and Newcomer of the Year at the Houston Sports Awards. He became the fifth rookie quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 4‚000 yards and was also the youngest quarterback to win a playoff game. His playoff victory marked the first time a rookie had won in the postseason since 2009.Like Blaze News?
