Uber Driver Picks Up Passenger and Realizes it’s His Long-Lost Friend – (WATCH)

When it comes to virality on the internet, the absurd and obtuse tend to win the greatest share of attention, but with 10 million views and counting, a clip of two long-lost friends running into each other in an Uber shows how the genuine is often the most appreciated. In January, Uber driver Danny Blanton, […] The post Uber Driver Picks Up Passenger and Realizes it’s His Long-Lost Friend – (WATCH) appeared first on Good News Network.

Law Firm Calls for Investigation Into Company Responsible for Friday’s Global Tech Outage for Alleged Discrimination

A conservative public interest law firm filed a civil rights complaint against cybersecurity technology company CrowdStrike on Wednesday for racial and sex discrimination. America First Legal said that CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. allegedly discriminated against white men by segregating them, forcing them to complete trainings, and limiting their promotions for the sake of diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI. On Friday, CrowdStrike was responsible for a global technology outage that canceled and delayed thousands of flights, disrupted businesses, and disabled Microsoft Windows computers. CrowdStrike blamed a bug in an update that allowed its cybersecurity systems to push bad data to millions of its customer’s computers. “Companies across the country, including CrowdStrike, appear to have forgotten about their obligations under federal law,” an America First Legal spokesperson told The Daily Signal. “AFL is committed to bringing unlawful DEI policies to the [Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s] attention for appropriation action. These divisive and illegal policies must be stopped.” America First Legal asked the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to investigate CrowdStrike in a letter, citing the company’s commitment to hiring diverse employees. “As part of our commitment to building a diverse workforce, we champion inclusive recruitment initiatives like our Return to Work Program, which values the diverse skills people acquire in many contexts,” the CrowdStrike website says. “Through employee resource groups, internal development programs, allyship training, speaker series, networking opportunities, and more, we are empowered to come together to create a workplace that reflects the diverse communities around us.” CrowdStrike is failing in its duty to create shareholder value and comply with applicable laws by prioritizing DEI, America First Legal said in a letter to the company’s board of directors. “The company has unambiguously emphasized diversity, equity, and inclusion at the expense of shareholder value,” the letter says. “Further, the company has infused its hiring, promotion, and recruitment practices with unlawful racial considerations. This conduct indicates that the company lacks effective internal controls and suggests an inappropriate disregard of your fiduciary duties to CrowdStrike and its shareholders.” CrowdStrike has a number of employee resource groups for various identity groups, including women, LGBTQ people, black employees, and Hispanics, but America First Legal noted that white men fit into no group. The tech company’s public proxy statement includes a “Board Diversity Matrix” that tracks the sex, gender identity, race, and ethnicity of its current directors. This is used for accepting future board members, according to America First Legal’s news release. “By openly hiring to ‘build a diverse workforce,’ instituting race- and sex-based development resource groups and creating a ‘Board Diversity Matrix,’ CrowdStrike’s actions patently violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,” America First Legal argues. In a statement, CrowdStrike’s chief human resources officer, J.C. Herrera, said a “diverse and equitable organization” is “key” to the company’s success. “In fact, innovating through inclusion is a big part of our lives at CrowdStrike,” he said. California School District Partners With LGBTQ Center That Recommends Transgender Surgeries for Minors

FIRST IN THE DAILY SIGNAL—A California high school refers students to an LGBTQ nonprofit that helps minors get transgender surgery referrals, documents obtained by The Daily Signal reveal. The high school in the Newport Mesa Unified School District in Southern California has scannable QR codes in its hallways that take students to a number of “LGBTQ+ Resources,” including the LGBTQ Center of Orange County’s website, according to photos shared with The Daily Signal. The resources, compiled by the Newport Harbor High School, include a link to “LGBTQ Affirming Therapy” provided by the LGBTQ Center OC. The link takes students to a form that helps them connect with a therapist who can write a referral letter for transition procedures. The LGBTQ Center’s website also has a form that connects minors with doctors who prescribe sterilizing hormone-therapy regimens and perform irreversible gender-transition surgeries. The form asks the person filling it out to select what kind of transgender surgery they are interested in. Options include “top surgery/chest masculinization,” “breast augmentation/chest feminization,” “facial feminization or masculinization,” “tracheal shave,” “body contouring,” “hysterectomy,” “phalloplasty,” “vaginoplasty,” “metoidioplasty,” and “orchiectomy.” Stories of children undergoing transgender procedures then regretting it have become increasingly common. For example, Chloe Cole—now a detransitioner—started identifying as a boy at 12 years old and got a double mastectomy at just 15, only to regret it a few months later. Newport Mesa proposed a Memorandum of Understanding with the LGBTQ Center OC in 2022 to counsel LGBTQ students, but parents persuaded the School Board to withdraw it, a local mother who asked not to be identified told The Daily Signal. In the memorandum, the district would have agreed to provide the LGBTQ Center “a list of student referrals, upon request of LGBTQ Center OC staff.” The LGBTQ Center would have agreed to help students start Gay-Straight Alliance clubs, conduct LGBTQ training and workshops, and more. Employees of the LGBTQ Center have spoken to the Newport Harbor High School’s LGBTQ club during the lunch period. A presentation in the spring of 2022 obtained through a California Public Records Act request and shared with The Daily Signal discussed “Trans Health and Wellness” and advertised the center’s LGBTQ groups for children. Those include the Rainbow Group, a “social drop-in group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied youth ages 13-18″ facilitated by three adults, and Inbetweeners, which “provides a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQIA and allied youth (or ‘tweens’) ages 10-13.” Youth Program PresentationDownload After the lecture, the speaker emailed a district employee a list of resources to share with students, including a “Linkage to Care” form for LGBTQ kids to find doctors. The LGBTQ Center offers monthly “Trans Orientation” sessions in cooperation with the University of California-Irvine Health’s Gender Diversity Program. Topics discussed include immigration, hormones, referral letters, getting insurance to cover transgender procedures, and changing one’s name, according to a video on the district website. “Then we move on to hormones, the exciting part that most people kind of want to figure out,” Miliana Singh, health care and transgender services coordinator at the center, says in a video describing the “Trans 101″ course. “Strengthen[ing] youth” is one of the LGBTQ Center’s strategic priorities. Later this month, the center will host a “prom” for a wide range of ages, 13 to 20. The LGBTQ Center OC provides “education, resources, and referrals” to “undocumented migrants.” The center works with “LGBTQ, immigrant rights, and social justice advocates to fight for the dignity and rights of immigrants and refugees.” The Newport Mesa Unified School District is largely funded by property taxes. As such, whether or not families who live there send their kids to Newport Mesa schools, they fund them with their tax dollars. A mother in the district who asked to remain anonymous due to concerns about threats to her family told The Daily Signal she doesn’t want to pay for the district to help kids transition. “I’m in several chats with a lot of moms, and we have had a lot of people pull their kids from the district after finding out all of this stuff, but the district doesn’t care, because they still get your money either way,” she said. “They don’t care if your kids are there or not.” The mother pulled her kids out of the school system after the COVID-19 pandemic and now homeschools them. “There are a lot of parents that are like, ‘Oh, it won’t happen to my kid. It could never happen to my kid’— until it does,” she said. Neither the school district nor the center responded to The Daily Signal’s requests for comment. Trump Campaign Files FEC Complaint to Block Biden’s $91M War Chest From Going to Harris

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—Former President Donald Trump’s campaign filed a Federal Election Commission complaint Tuesday alleging President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are in violation of campaign finance laws after transferring $91.5 million to Harris’ presidential campaign. The complaint, which was first reported by The New York Times, was filed by Trump’s campaign’s general counsel, David Warrington, and comes after Harris announced her confirmation of delegates to be the Democrat’s new presumptive presidential nominee. “Kamala Harris is seeking to perpetrate a $91.5 million heist of Joe Biden’s leftover campaign cash—a brazen money grab that would constitute the single largest excessive contribution and biggest violation in the history of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended,” Warrington wrote. Trump’s general counsel called out Biden, Harris, and the campaign treasurer for “flagrantly violating the Act by making and receiving an excessive contribution of nearly [$100 million], and for filing fraudulent forms with the Commission purporting to repurpose one candidate’s principal campaign committee for the use of another candidate.” Harris announced the confirmation of taking on the presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention in August as she has received more than 3,000 delegates’ pledges, exceeding the needed 1,976 delegates, according to The Associated Press. The change in the Democrats’ nominee comes after Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 race on Sunday. The president posted a letter to X (formerly Twitter) stating while he had intended to continue with his reelection bid, he believes it would be best for the party and country if he focused on the remainder of his term. In a second post, Biden notably endorsed Harris as the next nominee, calling for Democrats to “come together and beat Trump.” Since the announcement, the vice president has received an onslaught of support from both lawmakers and Democratic donors, topping more than $100 million since Biden’s withdrawal, according to the BBC. The White House, the Trump campaign, and the FEC did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment. EXPOSED: Evidence suggests that Trump shooter may have met with the FBI

The Heritage Foundation, the same group behind Project 2025, has begun investigating some suspicious activity related to Thomas Matthew Crooks, Trump’s would-be assassin, using readily available cell-phone tracking technology. The initiative falls within the Oversight Project division. “This is not just law enforcement or government agencies that do this. ... When you walk into a boot store in Nashville, they're going to track you, and then you start getting these ads,” explains investigative journalist and Blaze Media correspondent Steve Baker, noting that this kind of technology is referred to as “ad-ID.”“Every single one of our cell phones have essentially what is the ... equivalency to your social security number, and so once they identify that phone, then they can pretty much track that phone wherever it goes,” Baker explains. While being tracked rubs a lot of people the wrong way, the technology may prove helpful in discovering more information about Crooks, who had no detectable motivation for his actions, according to reports from federal investigators.Unfortunately, we can’t trust those reports to reflect truth, which is likely why the Heritage Foundation has picked up the magnifying glass. “Here is the gist of what [the Oversight Project] has discovered through their own tracking,” says Baker. EXPOSED: Did the Trump Shooter Meet with the FBI? youtu.be “They were able to ping and identify about nine different phones at the home of the shooter.” Next, “They were able to identify which of those phones were then going to ... where he works at the nursing home.”Once “the right ID” had been identified, the team was able to track wherever Crooks went. “What they discovered was that this kid was basically doing recon at [the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally] site on July 4th and July 8th” and then “turned his phone off after the 12th, or at least shut down all of the apps on his phone, so he couldn't be tracked on the day itself,” Baker says. But it gets even better. “In the process of looking at all of these phones that visited [Crooks’] home and visited the nursing home where he worked, they found a phone that actually pinged seven-eight times in D.C. at a building called a Gallery Place, which has a very large footprint of FBI offices and where source meetings and interviews regularly take place.” “Obviously, there are many, many non-nefarious reasons why somebody would be at that building in D.C.,” Baker admits, “but it is very curious.” “Do they feel as if they've mined everything when it comes to looking at the comings and goings with cell phone data?” asks Blaze Media Editor in Chief Matthew Peterson. To hear Baker’s answer and more about the Oversight Project’s investigation, watch the clip above.

Catholic school teacher sent sexually explicit videos, photos of herself to 14-year-old student, police say

A Delaware Catholic school teacher sent sexually explicit videos and photos of herself to a 14-year-old student, New Castle County Police confirmed Wednesday to Blaze News.Detectives discovered that 24-year-old Alanis Pinion — an 8th-grade teacher at St. Mary Magdalen School in Wilmington — frequently communicated with her students via Snapchat and had sent sexually explicit photographs to one of them, police said in a news release. Blaze News confirmed with police that "erotic" videos also were sent to the student. When the teen asked why Pinion was sending the videos, she reportedly replied, 'Because I'm bored,' the paper said.Pinion was taken into custody Thursday, police said, and charged with one felony count of sexual solicitation of a child under 18, one felony count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one misdemeanor count of first-degree indecent exposure. Police added that Pinion was taken to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to pay $46,000 cash bail. The News Journal said detectives began investigating after being contacted July 12 about videos that had been sent two days earlier via Snapchat. The paper, citing an arrest warrant, said Pinion — a Spanish teacher — had been communicating with the teen for several weeks, and it wasn't until July 10 that the "erotic" videos were sent to him.The News Journal, citing court documents, reported that over a 30-to-45-minute span that night Pinion sent him 10 to 15 videos. When the teen asked why Pinion was sending the videos, she reportedly replied, "Because I'm bored," the paper said. The teen added to police that Pinion also said, "I'm going to be your favorite teacher forever," the News Journal reported. The paper reported that the teen recorded the Snapchat videos on his phone while playing them on an iPad. The victim's parents allegedly instructed him to delete the videos and block Pinion, the paper said.More from the News Journal:By the time police got involved two days later, most of the videos had been deleted, though one was recovered on the teen's iCloud account. When detectives later searched Pinion's home, they found clothes that appeared similar to what she wore in that video, as well as bedroom furnishings that matched those recorded. A search of her cell phone showed she had since deleted Snapchat, but phone notifications indicated she had received messages on the app from the teen at the time that she was sending him videos. Detectives also saw that the phone's camera was used during the same timeframe, the warrant says.Police said the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington was contacted, informed, and fully cooperated with the investigation.Father James T. Kirk Jr. — pastor of St. Mary Magdalen parish — sent a letter to parents, staff, and parishioners regarding the allegations against Pinion, whom he described as a "former" part-time, contract employee, the News Journal said."The contractor had successfully completed the required background check process prior to her employment," wrote Father Kirk. "Please be assured that all of us at Saint Mary Magdalen Parish and School, along with our partners at the Diocese of Wilmington, always keep the safety of our children and youth as a primary goal."Police added that they are "concerned" there could be other victims who haven't yet come forward, and police said they're urging anyone with information about this case to contact Det. Daniel Watson at 302-395-8030 or by email at Daniel.Watson@newcastlede.gov.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox.
