Western intelligence officials are reportedly growing increasingly concerned about Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons as new activity has been spotted at facilities that it used in the past when it was working to develop its own nuclear weapons. The activity comes as G7 Foreign Ministers condemned Iran this week “in the strongest possible terms” for supplying Russia with missiles for its illegal war in Ukraine. The U.S. says that in exchange for the weapons, Russia is giving Iran “secret information and technology that could bring it closer to being able to build nuclear weapons,” Bloomberg News reported. During recent talks between the U.S. and the U.K., top officials said that Iran’s nuclear program “had never been more advanced.” Iran has continued to rapidly increase their stockpile of enriched uranium, in direct violation of the the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which would shorten the amount time needed to build a nuclear weapon to about a week if they decided to build one. The Institute for Science and International Security said in a report last week that Western intelligence officials had provided it with information and satellite images showing new activities that are taking place at two former Amad Plan sites, which were key to Iran’s development of nuclear weapons back in the early 2000s. “The two sites, Sanjarian and Golab Dareh, were central to the Amad Plan’s development of a sophisticated multipoint initiation (MPI) system to initiate the high explosives for spherical implosion in a nuclear weapon, to develop and test high-speed diagnostic equipment or their subcomponents, and to conduct a range of tests to ensure that the MPI system and diagnostic equipment worked,” the report said. Officials said that the new activity was being conducted by experts who participated in the Iran’s previous work to develop nuclear weapons. The new activity at the facility reportedly included “high explosive tests and technical research and development of a sensitive nature.” Satellite imagery shows a significant increase in activity at the facilities throughout the course of the Biden-Harris administration as the U.S. has reversed course from the Trump administration’s hardline policies toward Iran. Activity at the site has picked up dramatically over the last year and a half, the report said.

I first learned about this phenomenon while researching a haunting in a Kona, Hawaii firehouse. One of the clients informed me of the legend, mentioning that many of his relatives claimed to have witnessed the procession on the nearby beaches.He believed the firehouse was haunted by a restless phantom warrior from the 18th century. The structure was fairly old and needed a lot of renovation. In fact, some parts of the structure were in total disrepair from what I gathered from witnesses. Despite the effort, the strange activity never really ended until the firehouse was eventually razed for a new building. So far, I am not aware of any reported activity.Anyway...or the last century or so published and unpublished accounts have surfaced of people encountering the marching apparitions of chiefs, chiefesses, dead relatives, gods, and goddesses, along with their entourages on roads they had once ceremonially traveled to attend to ritual ceremonies. Hawaiians call the phantom parade huaka‘i po.The legend evolved from a cultural matrix that encompassed information passed on orally or from writings about non-phantom Hawaiian daytime and nighttime processions of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries following Captain Cook’s arrival in 1778. Foreigners continued writing about the traditional and transitional culture into the 19th century. In the marches were living human beings, some of whom were led by a man or woman of such high rank as to be considered divine, and by men carrying images of gods of both sexes. Hawaiians believed that marchers might include gods, goddesses, family guardian gods, and spirits of dead kinfolk who assumed either material or spectral forms visible to human onlookers.Here is a story told in 1970 by a Hawaiian fisherman of Pepe‘ekeo, Hawaii, about the time he and his companion heard the phantom night marchers and saw their torches. The limpet picker related his story as follows:"One night when I was fishing for ulua Mahu-kona side, I was sitting listening to the waves crash on the rocks. I was with Keoki. We started talking story after sliding fresh puhi [eels] down the line. It was about ten o’clock. Suddenly I heard the sound of a conch shell blowing in the distance. Keoki heard it too. I thought it was the wind. Then a little while later we heard it again. This time it was a little louder. It was spooky because we didn’t see anything, Then we heard it again. We looked toward Ka-wai-hae side and then we saw it. It looked like a procession.At first we saw a line of torches in the distance. The procession was moving along the coastline. The conch shell blew again.I took out my knife and Keoki got the rifle. We went seaward and laid down on the lava rock. We knew about night marchers from other fishermen. We knew you aren’t supposed to look upon the marchers and to lay on the ground face down. We did this. The marchers passed about fifty yards in front of us on the sand path. As they passed we could hear the sound of a drum pounding beat by beat. We didn’t look up until they were farther down the coast. All we could see now was the line of torches, and all we could hear was the far away sound of the conch shell.We didn’t know if they were going to come back that night, but we didn’t want to stick around and see. We got our sleeping bags and made it to the car and went to Spencer Park to spend the rest of the night. In the morning we went back and picked up our rigs and equipment we left behind."More recent observers note that phantom processions frequently appear on anniversaries and at places of important national or local events that took place in the marchers’ lifetime. In 1970, a great-grandmother in Hawaii explained that the spirits of dead chiefs and their followers still traveled from village to village to attend festivities such as they had enjoyed in life. She also noted that a very high chief had heralds to order people to prostrate themselves off the trail; anyone failing to do so risked being instantly killed by the chief’s guards.In the old culture, a chief and his followers marched to battle arrayed in feather cloaks, helmets, and other finery. In the chief’s personal party were his wife, closest friends, and bearers of stick images representing his gods. Also in his procession were his general, priests, astrologers, as well as variously trained, equipped, and specialized ranks of warriors. Observers of phantom marchers frequently identify them as the spirits of a chief and his warriors.The phantom night marchers have been seen frequently along the entire Kona coast including Kealakekua Bay and along The Pathway of the Gods, Kamehameha’s birthplace, and other sacred and historical sites. In 1970 the great-grandson of the woman who described the march of chiefs to festivities conjectured that the night-marching spirits might on occasion be connected with the Makahiki. In 1931 a Maui woman interpreted a phantom midnight festival as a reenactment of a Makahiki fertility rite.Among adult observers are farmers, fishermen, ranch hands, U.S. soldiers, youth camp counselors, schoolteachers, a former interpreter in King Kalakaua’s court, a plantation owner, a physician, a tourist, a prominent politician, and the sister of another politician.Most observers, in relating their experiences, state that they were not alone at the time, and their companions, in all but one instance, saw and heard what they did. Occasionally a whole family, a community, or a group of people see the marchers.Opinions differ as to whether children can see or hear night marchers. A young Oahu girl whose mother aroused her during a procession was able to hear but not see it. Another heard the drums although her young companions could not, and as an adult this same girl heard, saw, conversed with, and marched alongside of the spirit of an ancestor. In Hawaii, a family sat up with their children to wait in a safe place for the procession. As an adult, the daughter recalled that she had heard the marchers distinctly but had seen them only rather dimly. One evening two young boys at South Kona heard the marchers’ drums and saw their torches before their mother did, And a young Kohala girl, playing during the day in a forbidden field, was terrified when she heard a whistling wind, drums, heavy footsteps, and voices, and was knocked off the marchers’ path by a protective spirit who whispered a name in her ear which she later learned was that of a dead relative. A Moloka‘i family was happily excited when a son heard the spirits’ drums. On the other hand, a Maui woman as a child could not hear, and presumably could not see the marchers, but as an adult, she heard them so clearly that had she been able to record musical notation she could have put down the sounds of their chants, flutes, and drums. In the 1960s, an O‘ahu man stated flatly that only adults could hear and see the spirits, for as a child he had been unable to hear them although his parents and grandparents could.There are hundreds of traditional and more modern accounts of the phantom marchers. Regardless of an intended or unintended motive, stories of experiences with night marchers or beliefs about them are told for many reasons: to entertain; to discuss a puzzling, inexplicable, perhaps frightening phenomenon; to pass the time and relieve boredom; to dispense knowledge about the phenomenon and proper behavior regarding it; to frighten children into obedience and fear of night-wandering spirits; to endow sacred and historic sites with supernatural protection and value and protect them from further damage; to communicate oral history; or a combination of several of these things. But most importantly such stories function to express the storyteller’s sense of cultural and personal continuity with old Hawaiian culture.NOTE: Over the years I have received several very odd anecdotes from Hawaii, most are related to legends and beliefs. For example, I received a witness report that stated phantom wild pigs were seen throughout a macadamia nut grove. It was so bad that the owner couldn't keep workers, they considered it as a bad sign. I referred the case it to a local investigator who later confirmed that she had witnessed the phantom pigs herself. It's a long detailed story that I may cover one day, but a good example of some of the weird activity that comes from Hawaii. In August of 2012 my wife and I took a long awaited trip to the big island, Hawaii. The trip there was un-eventful. Left from Oklahoma City, stop in DFW, then LAX, and finally we arrived at Kona International Airport. We picked up our luggage, grabbed a rental and headed to the resort. Upon arrival we found the resort to be absolutely lovely, it was just as we pictured it. Check in went smoothly and we were walked up a small path to our condo. Two beds, two baths, a living room, a huge lanai, full kitchen and a two-person garden tub.After unpacking I noted it was around 2pm. We were exhausted (as our flight left OKC the previous night). We decided to take a nap before starting our adventuring. My wife laid down in bed and I adjusted the AC. I walked into the bedroom from the hallway thermostat. Just as I stepped into the room I heard a noise from the living area, it sounded like somebody dropped a stack of magazines. I grudgingly walked into the living area to pick up a mess. I couldn't find anything askew. There were a stack of magazines on the small coffee table, but they were on the table not the floor. I looked for a minute then just shrugged it off. I laid down in bed.I was almost asleep when I heard the bedroom door close. I figured my wife needed a drink, I turned over to see her lying in bed next to me. I immediately went into attack mode. It was 2:15pm I jumped stealth-fully out of bed and grabbed my pocket knife from the dresser. I was trained to use a knife a time ago, so I was confident I could stop an attacker unless they had a gun. I approached the door. It opened silently. I peered out ready to strike. Nothing. I systematically searched the condo. Nothing. I am a reasonable fellow, my is wife very reasonable herself. We decided the pressure from the AC switching on had closed the door.I laid down again. Before my eyes the door began to close. It silently and gently shut until the mechanism was in contact with the door jam. I laughed to myself, thinking of how I over-reacted. The door violently slammed itself shut. I shot out of bed and promptly opened the door. I stood and watched it for 5 minutes, it didn't budge. I walked back to bed and sat down. The door rapidly closed slamming itself shut! I remember getting chills, my wife leaned in behind me and peered at the door. I stood and blurted out loud "IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST BE GONE FROM HERE! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME GET OUT!" I immediately felt the room begin to warm. Things were normal once again. It was 2:23pm. My wife and I prayed for protection and finally slept peacefully.We are both people of great faith, we knew whatever it was had been forced out. I believe that our faith was keeping it at bay. We were there 14 days. Nothing further occurred until the last day of the trip. It was around 10pm I was packing and watching a series called "Haunted Highway." My wife was already asleep. I finished up packing and laid down. The television was kept concealed inside a large built-in wardrobe. The door in front of the television would open and lay flat against the wall. There was even a small latch that kept it in place. It had not moved the entire time we had been there. I watched it slowly close and shut and latch. I calmly got up and opened the door so I could finish my program. I stood back and the door began to rapidly close! I jumped forward caught the door and said "GET OUT." I pushed the door open latched it in place and laid down. I prayed again and went to sleep.I had very violent and frightening dreams all night. I woke exhausted and found the wardrobe was still open as I left it. We loaded our car and left that place behind. I was glad to be on the plane homeward bound. I still break out in wild goose bumps and my hair stands on end each time I tell and relive this experience. My wife and I believe in the supernatural, but this was a first for us. I absolutely believe that which was in our condo was demonic in nature. It's whole purpose was to rock our faith, all it succeeded in doing was making it stronger. On a side note I have been to Oahu many times BECAUSE my sister used to live there. I never experienced anything like this there. When I relived the experience for my sister she just sat there silently. She looked at her husband and they both said that they had similar experiences when they first moved to Oahu. They hadn't told anybody because they were afraid of ridicule. Native Hawaiians have long believed in spirits that would attack 'howlies' that were visiting the islands." DNOTE: 'Howlies' is a corruption of the word Haole, Hawaiian slang for foreigner. Usually applied only to Caucasian people. Not necessarily derogatory, depends on context. I have heard similar stories from people who have traveled to Hawaii. In fact, an NFL player who was in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl several years ago related to me encounters that he and another player had with less-than-friendly spirits in their hotel suites. To make a long story short, they didn't get much sleep during their stay and vowed to never return to Hawaii. Maybe the vengeful native entities are getting a little 'payback' for past atrocities. I received this account from a reader named Sheri. She is searching for answers to the strange encounters she had with an unknown entity. She would appreciate any information that anyone can offer:"In my late teens and early 20's, several other people and myself saw weird, hairy, monkey-like hands scrabbling beneath the space between the floor and the bottom of the door leading to the basement of our family home. That is where my bedroom, my brother's bedroom, a games room and a bathroom was. We lived in North Battleford, Saskatchewan at the time, definitely not a tropical area as Saskatchewan is smack in the middle of Canada and our winters are long and freezing cold. It is a small prairie city without a zoo of any kind.This phenomenon was seen on more than one occasion and was always witnessed by several others. I remember it occurring in late summer or early fall always in the late afternoon or early evening, never late at night. The hands were small, sort of like a spider monkey's would be but different, more human looking. They were covered with dark brown to black hair and had long jointed humanoid fingers with long darkish human-like fingernails. The small arms were visible from just below where the elbow would be, the forearms of the creatures I guess. Both times I saw them they reached beneath the bottom of the door and scrabbled back and forth across the floor aggressively.There were two of the creatures. They made loud scratching noises. It scared the hell out of everyone causing pandemonium with everyone screaming and freaking out. I would feel compelled to calm them down. So gathering every ounce of courage I could muster, I would whip the door open but nothing would be there. As I said, each time I saw these things I was with other people. The first time it was me and three of my girlfriends and the next time, me, my little brother and three cousins. I was always the one to open the door even though I too was terrified.There was never any evidence of wild animals being in the house. No scat, hair or destruction that surely would have occurred had wild animals somehow invaded our premises. We had a dog and a cat that most certainly would have reacted if wild animals were inside. The creatures we saw...well, partially saw, felt "wrong".... weird and unnatural. The experience was extremely frightening and definitely had a sense of evil attached to it.I am wondering if anyone else out there has ever had a similar sighting.
