Libertarian Party Rejects RFK Jr. Bid For Nomination, Rules Trump Ineligible

Libertarians voted on Sunday against selecting independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the 2024 presidential nominee for the Libertarian Party, and ruled former President Donald Trump ineligible. Despite urging from Trump for Libertarians to rally behind him, and RFK Jr.’s bid to be selected as the party’s nominee, Libertarians selected Chase Oliver, a former Georgia Senate hopeful whose candidacy helped push the contentious 2022 Georgia Senate election to a runoff, POLITICO reported. The Libertarian Party vote came after Trump spoke at the party’s convention on Saturday, asking Libertarians to support his bid for a second term in the White House. The presumptive Republican nominee was booed when he told those at the Libertarian Party convention to “combine” with his campaign. He also pledged to place a Libertarian in his cabinet and senior posts. Trump received just six write-in votes in the first round of voting, and the Libertarian Party chair said the former president was ineligible to be the party’s nominee. “We cannot give Crooked Joe Biden four more years,” Trump said, adding that the party should join forces with his campaign. “Only do that if you want to win. If you want to lose, don’t do that. Keep getting your three percent every four years,” Trump said. Trump just bodied the nerds booing him at the libertarian convention lmao “Maybe you don’t want to win … keep getting your 3 percent every four years” pic.twitter.com/16J6GsMQRd — johnny maga (@_johnnymaga) May 26, 2024 Trump posted on Truth Social on Sunday afternoon that even if he were selected as the Libertarian Party’s nominee, he couldn’t accept it since he is set to be nominated by the Republican Party in July. “Regardless, I believe I will get a Majority of the Libertarian Votes,” he added. “‘Junior’ Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat, who’s destroyed everything he’s touched, especially in New York and New England, and in particular, as it relates to the Cost and Practicality of Energy. He’s not a Libertarian. Only a FOOL would vote for him!” Kennedy, who dropped out of the Democratic primary to run as an independent, also spoke at the Libertarian Party convention and was on the ballot for the nomination. He was eliminated in the first round of voting on Sunday after receiving just 2% of the vote from the delegates, The Hill reported. The independent candidate’s loss at the Libertarian Party convention comes as he seeks to gain access to ballots across the country before the 2024 election. Oliver won the nomination after seven rounds of voting, clearing the required 50% threshold over his final opponent being “none of the above,” Fox News reported. Past social media posts from Oliver show that he opposes Republican legislation that stops boys from competing in girls’ sports. Oliver has also said that he supports an “open border” and has called to “abolish ICE.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP The Libertarian nominee won 2% of the vote in the 2022 Georgia Senate election between Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican candidate Herschel Walker, which pushed the election to a runoff that Warnock ultimately won. “I will continue to bring a hopeful and positive message of liberty to both those who consider themselves libertarian and those who don’t know they are libertarian yet,” Oliver said in his Sunday victory speech. Libertarian candidates usually receive around 1% of the vote in presidential elections. Gary Johnson received an unusually high number of votes in 2016 when he took 3% of the national vote.

Spin Cycle: Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

For those who don’t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week’s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed. Sunday’s media spin took aim at the 2024 presidential election — which is looming ever closer as the Memorial Day weekend will kick off a summer replete with campaign events, major party conventions, and more. And based on the tone of the Sunday political shows, the narrative the mainstream media networks plan to carry into the election season is a simple one: Be afraid. Be very afraid. For former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, the message on her MSNBC show “Inside with Jen Psaki” centered around former Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) and her decision to endorse Donald Trump after months of criticizing him and even running a campaign against him that lasted through Super Tuesday. Psaki compared Haley to other Republicans who had chosen to turn on Trump, saying that she had “seen this movie” before — and that she had come to expect Republicans to “fall in line” even after the former president attacked them because they feared being ousted from the party altogether. “Republican speaks the truth about Donald Trump… Trump smears, attacks, and belittles them… Republican falls in line rather than face excommunication from the party. How many times have we seen this movie?” she said. .@jrpsaki: “Republican speaks the truth about Donald Trump… Trump smears, attacks, and belittles them… Republican falls in line rather than face excommunication from the party. How many times have we seen this movie?” pic.twitter.com/Ob6tr2oCZl — Inside with Jen Psaki (@InsideWithPsaki) May 26, 2024 Psaki’s guest Sarah Matthews took it a step further, arguing that in Haley’s case, the former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. was also likely forfeiting any leadership role in the Republican Party once Trump was no longer leading it. “She could’ve – maybe in a post-Trump Republican party – been the leader. Instead, she chooses to bend the knee, kiss the ring,” she said. “She could’ve – maybe in a post-Trump Republican party – been the leader. It’s not too little too late.” WATCH: Arizona Secretary of State @Adrian_Fontes (D) says “threats against elections officials in the United States … is domestic terrorism.” “We’re working with law enforcement across the country to really start to address these things. It’s not too little too late.” pic.twitter.com/tO5plcKtgZ — Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) May 26, 2024 Welker framed the conversation — with Fontes and three others — around the upcoming election and polls that suggest a majority of Americans believe that “democracy in the U.S. is under threat.” Good Sunday morning — In just over five months, voters will pick 11 governors, 34 U.S. senators, 435 members of the House and choose thousands of local and statewide officials. It comes as more than 80% of voters say democracy in the U.S. is under threat. pic.twitter.com/rPUnQI6NK7 — Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) May 26, 2024 What Welker did not mention was that the same Georgetown University poll that revealed 81% believed democracy was in danger — and 51% thought Trump posed a risk — also stated that 47% believed the mainstream media was a threat to democracy. ON CNN’s “State of the Union,” anchor Dana Bash fomented fear of another January 6th when she continued to beat the same dead horse so many network hosts trot out every time they interview a Republican senator: “Will you vote to certify the election no matter who wins?” Senator Tim Scott was on the receiving end of that question on Sunday, and his answer was simple: “Well, certainly, we expect a fair and honest election. And as a result of that expectation, we will certify the election and certify President Donald Trump as our 47th president.” BASH: “Will you vote to certify the election no matter who wins?” SCOTT: “Well, certainly, we expect a fair and honest election. And as a result of that expectation, we will certify the election and certify President Donald Trump as our 47th president.” pic.twitter.com/x43PncK8uu — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) May 26, 2024 As the election draws closer — and it becomes clearer that the multiple court cases against Trump have either failed to sideline him or won’t be decided prior to the election — media appears ready to pull out all the stops to make sure they keep telling people to be afraid of the former president.

Uncovering the Devastating Effects of a Notorious Email Scam: A Shocking True Story

A seemingly innocent email lands in the inbox of an elderly woman, promising a chance at a fortune. Excited and hopeful, she eagerly clicks on the link, only to find herself on a downward spiral that almost costs her $25,000. This is the true story of how a notorious email scam preyed on the vulnerable and almost left a devastating impact on an unsuspecting victim. As technology continues to advance, so do the tactics of scammers. With just one click, they can access personal information and manipulate their victims into falling for their devious traps. In this case, the scammer pretended to be a representative from a legitimate company, enticing the woman with a promise of a large sum of money in exchange for a small fee. Little did she know, this was just the beginning of a harrowing experience. SCAM ALERT BY PREPLADDER I have sent multiple emails from past 3 months regarding my Gold Benefits on Prepstar portal,There’s no update from your side,Stop scamming with students if you can’t provide the benefits which you’ve listed. On tweeting this, they blocked me pic.twitter.com/yeHpAkv1o4 — Manish Aman (@manish__aman) May 23, 2024 As the woman began to communicate with the scammer, she was reassured that this was a legitimate opportunity. The scammer provided her with instructions on how to wire the money and even convinced her to share her personal information. With each passing day, the woman became more invested in this false promise, unaware of the danger that lurked behind the screen. Days turned into weeks, and the woman's excitement turned into fear when she realized she had been duped. She immediately reported the incident to the authorities, but it was too late. The money was gone, and the culprit was nowhere to be found. The woman was left with a heavy heart and a huge financial loss. I thought I was about to finally secure a Job but it turns out to be Scam.. A Thread. Last night around 10 PM, I received an email with the subject line "Employment Verification." I was out getting noodles, and you should have seen the joy on my face—finally, a job! Or pic.twitter.com/6B45ip2D3S — Dimeji of BUJ' (@dimejiofbuj) May 25, 2024 This heartbreaking story is just one of the many examples of how email scams continue to prey on the vulnerable, especially the elderly. These scammers use various tactics to manipulate their victims, often targeting those who may be less tech-savvy or more trusting. It is a reminder to all of us to be vigilant and cautious when dealing with unsolicited emails, even if they seem legitimate. In response to this incident, many experts are urging individuals to be more aware of the signs of a potential email scam. Some of the red flags to look out for include urgent and unsolicited emails, requests for personal information, and promises of large sums of money in exchange for a small fee. These are all warning signs that should not be ignored. While the woman in this story was fortunate enough to only suffer a financial loss, email scams can have far more devastating consequences. Many victims have reported identity theft, loss of life savings, and even emotional trauma. It is crucial for individuals to educate themselves and their loved ones on how to stay safe online and avoid falling victim to these scams. In conclusion, this eye-opening incident serves as a reminder to always be cautious and skeptical when dealing with unsolicited emails.
