Morgan Wallen’s Ex, KT Smith, Says Split From Influencer Husband Was Partly Because She Didn’t Want Him To Get Validation From “Women On The Internet” Like Her Previous Relationship
Morgan Wallen‘s ex is speaking out about not only her marriage to influencer Luke Scornavacco, but her failed relationship with Morgan too.
KT Smith is a guest on the most recent episode of Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast. KT shares a 5-year old son, Indigo, with the country singer, and the two were previously engaged during an on-again, off-again relationship between 2016 and 2019. KT dated Luke for two years before marrying him nine months ago, but the couple recently announced that they’re getting divorced, and KT told Bunnie it had a lot to do with the fact that she felt like the provider, and didn’t want to be the one holding it all together.
She also explained that Luke’s social media presence gave her “the ick,” and I honestly can’t say I blame her for that… it’s pretty cringy:
“First of all, we dated for almost 2 years. Oh yeah, he was absolutely amazing with Indigo. Indigo loves him, he loves Indigo and I loved Luke. I love Luke. I’ll always love Luke. Throughout our relationship, I just had issues with certain things, and like, we both did social media, and that’s basically I feel like impossible for two people to both do that career and for it to be lasting. For me, like I had said earlier, I want to be in a soft girl era and not feel like I have to take care of so much.
But I was taking care of the bills, all of the bills except for half the rent, and that’s just also who I am as a person. Like, I offered to do it, but then it gets to a point where it’s like, I don’t wanna have to hold everything together. Take care of the chickens and do manly things like that, lawn work and all that stuff. The social media thing was kind of an ick for me, and that was my fault for getting into it knowing that he did that.”

Bunnie then pressed her on if there was some past trauma from her relationship with Morgan that led to the issue she had with Luke and social media, and she was very honest in saying yes, it very much did. I think they had a bit of an age gap too (nothing crazy, but she’s in her 30’s and I think he’s still in his mid-20’s), so the maturity levels were so different too, especially considering she is a mom.
KT explained that she didn’t want to be part of Luke’s social media, and she didn’t want him to get his “validation from all these strangers and women on the internet” like what happened with her “prior relationship” with Morgan. I think we can all read between the lines there…
“With social media, yes, and I told him that. So like the whole relationship, he didn’t really understand why I had such an ick from it and neither did I. Because I was like, one, I did not like being in videos that were planned. I didn’t wanna act on social media, I just didn’t wanna be part of that.
And that drove a wedge in our relationship of like, hey you make your own content, I’m gonna make my own, don’t involve me in it. Well then he looks at that as not being supportive. And then it wasn’t until I started therapy after, because always gone to therapy, but I was like this time I need to work on me.
Okay, the ick does come from a past trauma and I didn’t want Luke to feel like, get all of his validation from all these strangers and women on the internet and then it turn into what it did in my prior relationship. And secretly, I guess I was scared of that. Guys hurt so much different, once they’re hurt once, they kind of build up a wall. So once we announced that we’re getting divorced, I was like hey, let’s work on things.”
Morgan out here catching strays… but it’s the first time I’ve ever heard her speak about him so publicly and directly, especially when it comes to her side of what happened in their relationship.
KT added that she wanted Luke to fight for their marriage and put the “ball in his court,” so to speak, to no avail. Of course, as the old saying goes, there’s always his side, her side and the truth, but this is what led to divorce from her point of view:
“We had talked about it multiple times, cause I would bring it out. I’m a runner, freaking trauma of being independent, like, nothing bad will happen if I’m myself… But I told him, I was like, I’m glad it happened the way it did though, because I wouldn’t have known that I needed to work on myself.
And I wouldn’t know why I hate social media so much, and you didn’t think I was supportive, I could’ve been a better wife, but with the social media stuff, how can I be attracted to you if I don’t see you as manly? And so it’s been, even now, very in between. We either go through the divorce, or we work it out. And the ball is in your court. It’s at this point where it’s just hard, because now I’m like is he just gonna cut off and not? So I’m also scared but it’s something that, I mean, we signed up for this, we made a Covenant.
It is what it is, we should be fighting for it and I wanted him to be like, hey we’re not gonna try to make it work we are going to make it work. And that let me down when that didn’t happen but I was like okay, I’m not gonna let my trauma affect that. I’m still going to attempt to fight, but if he doesn’t wanna fight, then I’m gonna let it go.”
It seems like they’re still headed for divorce after hearing this conversation, but it’s gotta be tough going through such a public divorce after you’ve shared so much of your life with strangers on the internet, especially when you have another ex as famous as Morgan Wallen.
