The third-ranking House Republican, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), introduced a resolution on Tuesday that would have the House condemn Vice President Kamala Harris for her inability as “border czar” to quell the migrant crisis. Stefanik, the chairwoman of the House GOP Conference, unveiled the measure after President Joe Biden ended his re-election bid and Harris gathered the support of enough delegates to win the Democratic Party’s nomination. The resolution “strongly condemns the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris’s, failure to secure the United States border.” It further “affirms that the American people deserve elected officials who understand the gravity of the crisis at the border and who will execute the policies to fix the border crisis.” The resolution also “clearly and firmly states that the continuation of the Biden, Harris border policies would be disastrous for both the United States and the American people.” Biden tasked Harris with leading his administration’s efforts to deal with Mexico and other countries to stem the tide of migration to the southern border in March of 2021. At the time, Harris said the government “must address the root causes…that cause people to make the trek.” Stefanik’s resolution accuses Biden and Harris of instituting “far left Democrat open border policies” and making the border crisis “significantly worse” by formally ending former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” program in August 2022. Other clauses in the resolution reference how the VP waited 93 days before visiting the border, officials recording millions of illegal immigrant encounters since Biden and Harris took office, murders of Americans committed by illegal immigrants, people on the terrorist watch list trying to cross the border, costs on taxpayers, and other issues. C-SPAN’s Craig Caplan reported the House Rules Committee was scheduled to meet on Tuesday to prepare the resolution for debate later this week. “House Republicans will vote on my resolution to condemn Kamala Harris’ failure as Joe Biden’s border czar,” Stefanik said in a statement. “Kamala Harris’ failed leadership led to the most catastrophic open border crisis in history.” She added, “Biden’s open border czar Kamala Harris, and every elected Democrat is responsible for this border crisis and they must all be held accountable for their role in jeopardizing our national security and turning every community into a border community.”

In his announcement, Trump touted his administration’s work with Israel, including the signing of the Abraham Accords, bilateral agreements between the Jewish state and its Arab neighbors. “Just as I have said in discussions with President Zelensky and other World Leaders in recent weeks, my PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH Agenda will demonstrate to the World that these horrible, deadly Wars, and violent Conflicts must end,” Trump posted. “Millions are dying, and Kamala Harris is in no way capable of stopping it.” Netanyahu’s office has not officially confirmed the Mar-a-Lago meeting. The White House canceled Netanyahu’s planned Tuesday visit with President Joe Biden after the latter was diagnosed with COVID. Biden is now scheduled to meet with Netanyahu on Thursday. Netanyahu will address a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, the main purpose of his visit. Vice President Kamala Harris, now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, will not attend Netanyahu’s speech, opting instead to attend a convention for the historically-black Zeta Phi Beta sorority, the Times of Israel reported. Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Ben Cardin will preside over the joint session instead.
