The Dark Relationship Between U.S. Universities and The Anti-American School Controlled By Terrorists

Birzeit University, located just outside of Ramallah in the West Bank, is home to an overwhelmingly Hamas-affiliated student government that holds on-campus terrorist parades. It also has relationships with some of America’s most prestigious universities, despite the fact that its leadership and faculty openly harbor pro-terrorist and anti-American sentiments. The chairwoman of Birzeit’s Board of Trustees denied Hamas’s brutality and rape on October 7, and the school’s official account called for “glory to the martyrs” days after the attack. Yet its relationships in the United States remain largely intact — it has active relationships with Harvard University, Rutgers University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and others across the country. Harvard University is set to host a “Palestine Social Medicine Course” next month at Birzeit, where students will learn about “settler colonialism.” Rutgers University affirmed its relationship with Birzeit in May amid student encampment protests and William Paterson University entered into an agreement with the Hamas-run university in 2022 for exchange programs, sharing curricula and joint degree programs. Other schools, such as MIT, have recently co-hosted conferences, invited Birzeit professors for speaking events, or had student groups visit its campus. Experts say the university has “gone off the deep-end” since Hamas’ October 7, 2023 terrorist attack, with leadership openly defending the actions and broadcasting lies about the conflict. Birzeit’s Terrorist-Sympathizing Leadership Hanan Ashrawi, the chairwoman of Birzeit University’s Board of Trustees, has denied Hamas committed sexual assault on Israeli civilians during its October 7 massacre, endorsed the lynching of Israeli soldiers, and defended Hezbollah, according to CAMERA UK. On October 11, Ashrawi wrote that Israel’s “spin machine” was “manufacturing horrific lies in an orchestrated smear campaign claiming rape, slaughtering babies, beheadings, burnings alive” and that the Western media “immediately swallowed & regurgitated such vile slander.” Ashrawi doubled down on sexual assault denial in March, calling a UN report finding grounds that Hamas committed sexual violence invalid because it included mostly interviews with Israelis. Jonathan Schanzer, Senior Vice President for Research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said he is not surprised that Birzeit’s radical views are expressed at the highest levels. “Ashrawi has had a forked tongue for decades,” Schanzer told the Daily Wire, pointing out that she was once part of the Oslo Accords. “While she was once seen as a woman of peace, that ship sailed a long time ago and she has since been a mouthpiece for radicalism for the better part of a decade.” In a January 2, 2024 post on X, Ashrawi voiced her frustration with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) killing Saleh al-Arourui, the founding commander of Hamas’s military wing, the al-Qassam brigades, who she labeled a “Palestinian leader.” Hanan Ashrawi, the chairwoman of Birzeit University’s Board of Trustees, has denied Hamas committed sexual assault on Israeli civilians during its October 7 massacre. “The long-distance assassination by drone of Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri is a typical Israeli pattern of murdering Palestinian leaders of all factions. Not only does it not bring security or capitulation, it provokes & produces a serious escalation with long-term ramifications,” Ashrawi wrote. Ashrawi also sat on the Honorary Editorial Board of the Palestinian Chronicle, the U.S.-based non-profit that employed Abdallah Aljamal, who was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza in June as three hostages held prisoner in his home were rescued. Previously a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, she was also a founding member of Miftah, an organization with a history of anti-Ssemitism, including publishing an article claiming Jews use Christian blood to make matzah for Passover before apologizing, according to the Times of Israel. Ashrawi was denied a visa to the United States in 2019, according to her Twitter though it is unclear if she was given one in the following years for trips.  “I think it is quite revealing that she has been supportive of Hamas and other extremist groups after being part of the peace process for so many years,” Schanzer said. “I think she has gone well past the tipping point and there is no return for her. I suspect she knows that.” Celebrating Anti-Semitic Protests On American Campuses Birzeit itself has a troubling social media history since October 7, including calling for “glory for the martyrs” just three days later, praising terrorists, and declaring support for U.S. student encampments that caused turmoil on campuses, led to the harassment of Jews, and resulted in the cancellation of some commencement ceremonies. In a post on X, Birzeit mourned “with great pride the martyr,” Aysar Safi, a student killed in a combat mission against the IDF, according to the U.S.-designated terrorist organization, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which claimed him as a member. In another post, Birzeit shared an image from Safi’s on-campus funeral with attendees holding flags of the student wing of the PFLP and Hamas’s al-Qassam brigade. “Birzeit has gone off the deep-end since October 7 like other universities,” Schanzer said. “Like just about every faction within the Palestinian arena, Birzeit has expressed appreciation for the intimidating anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist encampments.” https://x.com/BirzeitU/status/1790751996607119706 In multiple posts, Birzeit called the encampment activists “a live example of the importance of academic liberty and justice” and said their “voices are heard and appreciated from Birzeit University.”  “From Birzeit University, we appreciate the stands where the students showed support to Palestine in MIT, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, NYU, PennU, and more,” Birzeit’s website states. “We reiterate our unwavering support for the Student for Justice in Palestine (SJP).” In a joint-letter with other Palestinian universities, Birzeit said the protesters in the encampments “are emancipating the university from structural racism and complicity with power and colonialism.” Birzeit, which describes itself as a “thorn in the side of the occupation,” and says it is making an impact through “resistance” has openly honored terrorists. The school has a Kamal Nasser Hall, named after the leader of Black September, the terror organization responsible for kidnapping and killing 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. Birzeit was under controversy in 2014 its policy of banning Israeli Jews from campus was exposed when it removed a left-wing reporter for Haaretz from a conference. Birzeit’s Anti-American Professors Birzeit shared a letter from its faculty and employee union which praised the “global intifada,” called for an Israel boycott, and refrained from calling the United States by name, instead opting to use “Turtle Island,” a term used by so-called “anti-colonialists” to suggest that the United States exists on stolen land.  “From their inception in the early part of the twentieth century, Zionist academic institutions have been the catalyst for the military plans to ethnically cleanse the entirety of Palestine,” the letter reads. “The global intifada will no doubt continue to grow and campuses across the world, including in the Arab world, will gather and scream in the face of fascism.” Birzeit University’s teacher and employee union praised the “global intifada” and refrained from calling the United States by name, instead opting to use “Turtle Island,” a term used by so-called “anti-colonialists” to suggest that the United States exists on stolen land. Birzeit’s faculty includes notable terrorist sympathizers, including assistant professor Basil Farraj who wrote a eulogy for Walid Daqqa, the leader of a group that kidnapped and killed an IDF soldier.   Philosophy professor Abdaljawad Omar appeared at a PFLP-linked conference attended by Rep. Rashida Tlaib, where he praised the October 7 attacks for opening “so many doors of political possibility” and said the “promise of liberation it holds would not have manifested in our conference without the capacity to resist.” Omar also denied accusations of rape and criticized the IDF for refusing to allow Israel to be taken over by the “Palestinian military” in an op-ed shortly after the attack. “Israel chose not to engage in negotiations with any groups within its borders, leading to substantial collateral damage in numerous hostage situations,” Omar wrote. “The Palestinian military strategy aimed to delay Israel’s retaking of the area around the strip. In contrast, Israel was intent on swiftly reclaiming the territory, seemingly without regard for the safety of its own citizens.” Hamas-affiliated students celebrate, or commit, terrorism A majority of Birzeit’s students are radicalized, as evident from its student election last year where a Hamas-affiliated student bloc won 25 of the 51 seats in a race with a 77% voter turnout, according to the Jerusalem Post. The PFLP-affiliated group won six seats.  PFLP parade at Birzeit University where participants had mock rockets and mock explosive belts, according to MEMERI. (T.me/kataebabuali, Facebook.com/aysha.taweel.92, December 13, 2021) At the Islamic Bloc victory celebration, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh called in and claimed the win shows Hamas is “unbreakable” in the West Bank, Middle East Monitor reported.  In a December 2022 annual on-campus parade, students with military uniforms, mock suicide belts and rockets celebrated the 55-year anniversary of the PFLP while chanting “Oh, PFLP member, mobilize, blow up the settler’s head,” reported Memri. At the 2021 rally, photos of participants making Nazi salutes were shared by PFLP’s military wing on Telegram. A day later, the Islamic Bloc held their own rally where a speaker said “salutations to the body parts that were scattered on the streets of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv,” a video by Memri shows. The Islamic Bloc is so proud of Birzeit’s list of terrorist alumni that it featured many of them in a 2022 article on its website for their “jihad work.”Notable mentions include Ayman Halawa, which the group credits for killing 23 Israelis at a Tel Aviv night club, and Yahya Ayyash, nicknamed “the Engineer,” for revamping the production of suicide bombs and helping kill nearly 100 Israeli civilians. Hamas student parade at Birzeit University where a child with a Hamas headband carried a toy rifle.(Facebook.com/aysha.taweel.92, December 14, 2021) The group honored Ayyash in a reception for new students, titled “Ayyash’s Army,” on November 24, 2022, hosted the day after terrorists detonated bombs at a bus stop, killing two Israelis. Current students have also been arrested for terrorism, including student government president Abdulmajid Hassan, and seven other students who were arrested by the IDF and accused of planning a terror attack to which some of the suspects confessed, according to the Times of Israel. The director of a Harvard University public health program heading to Birzeit this summer with students condemned the raid, claiming it violated “the right of Palestinians to education, freedom of speech, and freedom of association,” the Daily Wire previously reported. A Harvard representative downplayed the Birzeit elections and their impact on their summer program at the time, claiming they are “not germane to and have not affected the FXB Center’s work with the scholars and students at Birzeit’s Institute of Community and Public Health.” According to Schanzer campus elections are a barometer of the political sentiments held by Palestinians in the West Bank considering elections have not been held in many years and its president, Mahmoud Abbas is entering the 19th year of his 4-year term. “U.S. universities should be concerned about partnering with Birzeit while Hamas is in control of its student body and there are open displays of radicalism on campus,” Schanzer said. “This should be a sign that perhaps it’s not the best time to be sending students to Birzeit.” In April, a mob of Birzeit students attacked the German ambassador to Israel on campus with stones, forcing him to flee, i24 News reported. In June, students called on Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah to burn Kiryat Shmona, an Israeli town near the Lebanon border that has been evacuated and faces near-daily rocket attacks. Birzeit students were caught helping launder money for terrorist attacks from Gaza to Hamas members in Turkey in 2022, The Jerusalem Post reported. More than 140 students and 4 staff members were in prison in April, Birzeit posted to X. In 2022, the school’s sports education club hosted an athletic competition named after one of its many prominent terrorist alumni, Marwan Barghouti, who is considered a leader of the First and Second Intifada and was convicted of killing five people.  Birzeit University Ties With U.S. Universities And Students While Schanzer said all U.S. universities should reconsider partnering with Birzeit, he stressed that Harvard should pay extra caution due to the Congressional Education and the Workforce Committee revealing its former Antisemitism Advisory Council noting pro-terrorist influence on campus. “We know from the internal deliberations that they are worried about the influence of Hamas at Harvard,” he said. “But the Harvard administration has already shown it’s more eager to appease the woke masses than they are concerned about antisemitism, Hamas influence or the potential danger of exposing students to radicals abroad.” Students of Birzeit University, supporting Hamas, Fatah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), gather for a debate held prior to the Student Council Elections, in Ramallah, West Bank on May 23, 2023. (Photo by Issam Rimawi/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images) Rutgers University caved to anti-Israel student protesters in May, saying it would “revisit and follow-up” on its relationship with Birzeit University, which was created in 2022. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-PA) asked Rutgers University president Jonathan Holloway if Birzeit is “really an institution Rutgers should be partnering with” before a Congressional hearing in May. “The information you just shared with me is new to me sir, and I will commit to reading it,” Holloway said after Smucker informed him of Birzeit’s terrorist sympathies. In 2001, UC Davis joined a consortium of Arab region universities — that includes Birzeit — and consists of “collaborative research and training projects.” Other schools draw upon Birzeit professors to educate their own students, represented by a 2021 conference co-organized with the UC Santa Barbara and Birzeit University. MIT co-hosted an April 2023 conference at Birzeit on “Education Innovation in Palestine Academia.” Georgetown enlisted Birzeit Associate Professor of History Rana Barakat for a “Gaza in Context Teach-In Series” in June. Student groups have taken trips to Birzeit, including 43 UC Berkeley students in 2019 who met with BDS Movement co-founder Omar Barghouti. In a Birzeit blog post, the university says it met with students from the University of Michigan, University of Virginia, New York University, and Harvard University in March 2023. As Birzeit creates ties with new schools, it also appears to boast outdated relationships with U.S. schools from nearly 30 years ago. Its website features a map of eight “international partners” including Illinois State University, Kent State University, California State University San Bernardino, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Harvard, University of California, William Paterson University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Palestinian students from Birzeit University hurl rocks amid clashes with Israeli security forces during a demonstration near the Israeli settlement of Beit El, close to Ramallah city in the occupied West Bank, on August 17, 2021, protesting the killing of four Palestinians a day earlier in Jenin in clashes with Israeli security forces. (Photo by ABBAS MOMANI / AFP) (Photo by ABBAS MOMANI/AFP via Getty Images) A spokesman for Cal State San Bernardino told The Daily Wire they have not had a relationship with Birzeit since 1995. Kent State told The Daily Wire it has not had a relationship with Birzeit for “several years,” Illinois State said their relationship ended in 2015, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville said their relationship is not active. The University of California Office of the President said they have no relationship with Birzeit, but did not comment on if its universities do. Schanzer believes that apart from the radicalism on Birzeit’s campus, visiting the West Bank is not safe for American students. “Israelis have arrested more than 4,000 terrorists in the West Bank since October 7 and have disrupted many plots and confiscated thousands of weapons smuggled through Jordan,” he said. “All of this is part of a plan enacted by Hamas and its key patrons in Tehran to ignite a third front in this war.” “We’re five minutes away from a massive confrontation in the West Bank and we have Harvard sending students,” he added. “This is the wrong time.” Harvard University, MIT, William Paterson University, Georgetown University, UC Santa Barbara, Rutgers University, and Birzeit University did not respond to a request for comment.

Woman Catches Strawberry Thief Red-Pawed — Meet The Adorable Culprit

When this woman’s strawberry crop kept getting ransacked, she decided to try to catch the thief in the act — little knowing that the offender would be her own dog! In a hilarious video on social media, the frustrated gardener placed a hidden camera in front of her plants. However, the footage showed her that the fruit bandit was none other than a four-legged family member. Oh, the betrayal! “Someone was stealing my strawberries, so I set up my phone to catch the culprit,” wrote the dog’s owner in her clip. Sure enough, within a few moments, the strawberry thief returned to the scene of the crime to claim even more ill-gotten gains, and there was no mistaking the dog’s identity. Ipo, the woman’s rescue, sneakily walked up to the plant and started sniffing around. At one point, she appeared to be chewing on something! @imalineraway Strawberry thief! #caughtoncamera #waitforit #dogsoftiktok #labradorretriever #fyp ♬ original sound – imalineraway Although this dog mom believes the mystery of the strawberry thief has been solved, commenters on the video jumped to Ipo’s defense. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” joked one user. “I didn’t see anything.” “Ma’am that’s the strawberry inspector,” wrote another. “Didn’t you see the badge?” A third added, “Nope. Strawberry tax collector.” There’s more to this strawberry thief than meets the eye! All jokes aside, Ipo really is a good dog, despite being an occasional strawberry thief. In another video, the pooch’s owner gave some backstory on how this adorable rescue became part of the family. Apparently, she was only supposed to be there for a short time. However, she formed an incredible friendship with their son, Ivan, who is disabled and often has seizures. @imalineraway A story of a boy & his dog #doglove #dogsoftiktok #labradorretriever #rescuedog #servicedog #endanimalabuse #fyp ♬ Afterglow – Ed Sheeran “Ipo immediately decided it was her job to take care of Ivan,” the amazed mom wrote. “She’s never had any training, she just knew what to do.” At the end of the day, we’re sure this family doesn’t actually mind sparing some strawberries for such a sweet girl! Mummified Fossil Forest Shows How Walnuts Once Thrived In The Arctic

Far above the Arctic Circle, the stumps of old trees are so large they were first spotted from an aircraft, looking completely incongruous on an island where little grows, let alone great trees. A study of these trees' nuts has offered insight into the world 45 million years ago, when the Arctic was a much more appealing place, as well as revealing three species of walnut unknown anywhere else. The trees are located on Axel Heiberg, Canada’s seventh-largest island. The reason few people outside Canada have heard of it is that it’s further north than almost all of Greenland; it’s so cold even the Inuit had abandoned it by the time European explorers got there. Today the main reasons anyone visits include practicing surviving on Mars, along with studying Global Heating. The other primary attraction is a fossil forest of what were once mighty trees, the stumps and roots of which have been preserved from 45 million years ago.“When you walk into the site, the first thing you notice are these big stumps, a meter or more in diameter, and they're still rooted in the soil that they grew in. It’s completely out of place. The closest living trees are 3,000 kilometers [1,864 miles] away,” said Professor James Basinger of the University of Saskatchewan in a statement. Looking at the Axel Heiberg's landscape it's hard to believe there were ever forests here.Image Credit: James BasingerThe stumps are remnants of trees that thrived there during the Eocene epoch, when the world was a great deal warmer. Average annual temperatures just 11 degrees from the pole are thought to have been more than 10°C (50°F), thanks to high atmospheric carbon dioxide. Nevertheless, Arctic winters were just as dark. Consequently, the island provides an indication of what forests could look like under conditions when summers are warm enough to allow them, but there is no sunlight for months at a time. It’s something we might see again in not too long. The early Eocene was one of the warmest times in the history of the planet, thanks to much higher, but not precisely measured carbon dioxide levels.Image Credit: GLEN FERGUS, CC BY-SAWe have evidence that dinosaurs made their home in forests in Antarctica tens of millions of years earlier, but much less information about what those forests were like.“There aren't really that many places around where you can go to see fossils that are preserved that well,” said Dr Steven Manchester of the Florida Museum of Natural History. The trees and their nuts are so well preserved because they have been mummified, rather than undergoing more common forms of fossilization. No ancient Egyptian intervention was required; the forest was buried beneath a swamp before bacteria or fungi could decompose its trees. The researchers found nuts eroding from the soil, making it very easy to identify the genus of the trees, even if they couldn’t be matched to known species. In a testimony to the extraordinary preservation, Basinger noted; “In one case, the walnuts are concentrated at one spot, possibly cached there by animals.” Some arctic proto-squirrel was really not ready for the multi-million-year winter to come.Although CT scans allowed botanists to look inside without damaging them, some were so brittle they broke open anyway.Image Credit: James BasingerAxel Heiberg’s forests reveal is now Canadian tundra and the Greenland ice cap had forests like the mighty redwoods of the American west coast, along with representatives of other familiar families like hickories and pines. Trees there did not grow to the epic size of modern giant sequoia, but at up to 40 meters (130 feet) they were doing pretty well, and may have achieved great ages.Manchester performed CT scans on nuts collected from the island’s Buchannan Lake Formation, without needing to damage the nuts as traditional methods would. He identified them as members of the genus Juglans, better known as walnuts, but identified three species that have not been reported before. These are the most northerly walnuts ever found, and among the oldest. The species have been named Juglans eoeoarctica, J. nathorstii and J. cordata. The work backs up recent theories that walnuts originated in North America or Europe in warmer times, before developing in Asia, previously thought to be their birthplace. The study is published in The International Journal of Plant Sciences

Why Do Doctors Say “STAT” In An Emergency?

Why Do Doctors Say “STAT” In An Emergency?

Pop on a medical drama and it won’t be long before you hear the dishy protagonist yelling something along the lines of “give me 100 of epi, STAT”. That they want the medication administered quickly is usually easy enough to pick up, but why are they saying stat? Is it a word, and if so, where does it come from?Like much medical jargon, doctors say stat because it comes from a Latin word: statim. The Latin means “immediately” or “at once”, and so when doctors say they want something stat, that is precisely what they mean. While jargon can be confusing to those out of the loop, it can be useful in professional settings for helping you say something quicker and clearer. Hearing “stat” immediately communicates that the doctor is trying to say they need something done at once, or right now, without giving them the opportunity to screw up clearly stating the two words needed to communicate the point.Latin has become a prominent feature of medical terminology across diagnoses, medications, and pathologies, particularly in English-language medical case reports. A 2018 paper that looked into the use of Latin in such journals concluded that there are some benefits to using the old language when it comes to universal understanding.“The adequate use of Latin terms in medical case reports is an essential prerequisite of effective sharing of one’s clinical findings with fellow researchers from all over the world,” wrote the authors. “Therefore, it is highly important to draw students’ attention to Latin terms and expressions that are used in medical case reports most frequently. Hence, the analysis of structural, thematic, and contextual features of Latin terms in case reports should be an integral part of curricula at medical universities.” Furthermore, improving response time with short words like stat can be crucial in clinical settings where medical emergencies require prompt intervention to save lives. Plus, it sounds kinda cool. And while we’re on phrases we never thought to question, ever wonder why people say “Roger!”?

Blaze News exclusive: LGBTQ activists harass, intimidate couple determined to protect kids from genital mutilation in NH

Last week, Blaze News introduced you to New Hampshire Peace Action, an NGO with Soviet roots and alleged terrorist ties that has already been criminally referred to the state AG's office for alleged charity fraud and RICO violations. In addition to its foreign policy activism, this group also trains a corps of volunteer "peacekeepers" who then provide private security services at local public events. In Part II of this two-part exclusive series, Blaze News reveals that rather than keep the peace, these NHPA peacekeepers attempt to help far-left organizations bully into silence anyone who might dare oppose them. Stephen and Beth Scaer are two such people. With the help of body cameras affixed to their clothing, the Scaers have captured multiple instances of physical intimidation, verbal harassment, and yes, even criminal violence from NHPA peacekeepers and other pro-trans activists. NHPA did not respond to Blaze News' requests for comment. 'We couldn't stand by and do nothing': The Scaers' activism By the hostile reaction they repeatedly incite from NHPA peacekeepers and other leftists, you might think that the Scaers are a physically commanding, formidable power couple, imposing their will without mercy. Instead, they are a pair of 61-year-old grandparents who simply want to keep children in their community from forced sterilization. The Scaers then began making regular trips to the statehouse, often wearing cardboard signs denouncing the attempted legal erasure of sex differences and the gender-related medical misconduct imposed on vulnerable people. Their political involvement began years ago, when they joined pro-life advocacy groups as an expression of their Christian faith. They were so passionate about the cause that they even traveled to the New Hampshire statehouse in Concord — about 35 miles north of their home in Nashua — to provide a pro-life witness to participants at some local women's marches that popped up across the country in early 2017 in response to the election of former President Donald Trump. It was there that the Scaers first encountered NHPA peacekeepers, though back in 2017, these peacekeepers did actually provide some security, they told Blaze News. "They made space for us in their permitted area," Beth Scaer said. "I looked forward to their presence." That same year, the Scaers learned through a Christian organization that bills permitting men to enter women's bathrooms and play on their sports teams were under consideration in New Hampshire. So the couple decided to expand their activism and publicly protest these measures on behalf of women and children. "We couldn't stand by and do nothing," Beth Scaer explained to Blaze News. Photo shared with Blaze News. Used with permission The Scaers then began making regular trips to the statehouse, often wearing cardboard signs denouncing the attempted legal erasure of sex differences and the gender-related medical misconduct imposed on vulnerable people, especially children. Stephen Scaer also began a social media account, @Sidewalk_Steve, to share his work and expose the bullying nature of those attempting to impose their radical agenda on the rest of the state. — (@) During their protests against the transgender agenda, the Scaers once again began interacting with NHPA peacekeepers, but this time, the peacekeepers were not nearly so accommodating. In fact, they had become overtly contentious. Beth Scaer has been shocked by the rapid change. She told Blaze News that one of the peacekeeper leaders "started out as very helpful, but in the last couple of years she has been taking sides against us." "It's very weird." Though he has not had any personal interaction with NHPA peacekeepers, New Hampshire Republican state Rep. Mike Belcher reported their actions to the state attorney general, describing them as a "private paramilitary-type group" that assumes "false authority" and issues "unlawful orders" in an effort to prevent conservatives like the Scaers from exercising their First Amendment rights. He believes NHPA's ultimate purpose for its peacekeepers is "to usurp police powers of the State on behalf of far-Left partisan public demonstrations." What's more, the NHPA peacekeepers apparently have no legal right to pose as a security force in the first place. Blaze News confirmed with the permits and licensing division of the state Department of Safety that the NHPA has never had a state-issued security guard license required of anyone or any group "soliciting" security-related "work" in New Hampshire. Earlier this month, New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella pledged to submit relevant materials about NHPA to the appropriate state investigative agencies to assess for probable cause, Belcher told Blaze News. Formella did not respond to Blaze News' request for comment. 'Antifa tactics': Peacekeepers' actions caught on video Undeterred from advocating on behalf of children, the Scaers estimate they have engaged in political activism at the statehouse about 50 times, interacting with NHPA peacekeepers and other trans activists on at least a dozen occasions. Their experience led them to wear body cameras during these outings in case they need to share video evidence with law enforcement and/or the media. The videos of NHPA peacekeepers' interactions with the Scaers shared with Blaze News evince a group eager to engage, frequently addressing the Scaers or blocking their path, even as they profess that they want the couple to leave. They also surround the Scaers, infiltrate their personal space, and issue orders that do not correspond to any local, state, or federal law. They even threaten to sic law enforcement on the Scaers for taking pictures or simply walking about public property. 'Aren't Christian men supposed to control their women?' Stephen Scaer explained to Blaze News that the NHPA peacekeepers employ these kinds of "Antifa tactics" — crowding, swearing, and taunting — "to get a reaction." "They want to trap you and ... get you on an assault charge," he said, citing an unnamed cop as his source. Though the timestamps on the following videos show an array of dates and times, all were filmed at a Pride event called Rainbow Recess, sponsored by the New Hampshire ACLU and held on the statehouse lawn on June 2, 2024. The peacekeepers are easily identifiable by the yellow lining and peace signs on their vests. One male peacekeeper, covered in tattoos, threatened to unleash his "unkind side" because Beth Scaer took pictures of one of the booths set up at Rainbow Recess. "They are not giving you consent," the man asserts, though New Hampshire law does not forbid taking photographs of others in public, with or without consent. — (@) Several peacekeepers then seem to get into a camera war with the Scaers, with both sides snapping photos of the other. "I'm just taking pictures," said one man before adding, "Don't take my picture." "I'm asking you not to take my picture," he reiterates. "Doesn’t work that way, buddy," Stephen Scaer retorted in the attending X message. — (@) On other occasions, the peacekeepers physically obstruct the Scaers' movements. In the video below, the tattooed man attempts to prevent Beth Scaer from accessing literature freely offered at a nearby Pride tent. — (@) Another video shows Beth Scaer attempting to escape to a different area of the statehouse lawn as the peacekeepers shadow her movements, sometimes even strangely waving or flapping their arms, perhaps to create a larger barrier between Beth and the Pride participants. "Don't touch me!" Beth warns one of them. "I'm not touching you. Don't worry, I'm not," the tattooed man replies. "How do you like my hand right in your camera?" "You have to be back eight feet!" the older male peacekeeper insists at another point, prompting Beth to reply in exasperation, "You're following me! How can I step back when you're following me?" At various times, one of the female peacekeepers calls Beth Scaer "hideous" and Stephen Scaer a "crybaby" and a "coward" and even ridicules the couple's Christian faith. "Aren't Christian men supposed to control their women?" she mocks at one point. Meet TRA Eileen Ehlers who with her husband Bob st@lk3d @BethRS62 outside of the Rainbow Recess event at the State House. She called me a coward, but note how quick she turns her back when I confronted her. She preys on the weak. #NHPolitics — (@) Though the Scaers are Christians, they told Blaze News that they do not make their faith a regular feature of their political activism. "We work with people from all beliefs to protect women and children," Beth said. One of Rep. Belcher's Democrat colleagues in the state House, Rep. Tim Horrigan, claims to be a member of NHPA. When asked about the treatment the Scaers received from NHPA peacekeepers during the Rainbow Recess event, Horrigan told Blaze News that he did not witness anything personally, but based on videos he has seen, "nothing ... supports the accusations" made by Belcher, the Scaers, and others. "To repeat what I just said four sentences ago: I WAS NOT THERE!" Horrigan's statement to Blaze News concluded. 'I watched the footage': The Scaers document other trans activists The peacekeepers are not the only LGBTQ+ activists who have harassed or attempted to intimidate the Scaers. The couple have chronicled other instances of bullying committed by individuals with no known ties to NHPA, though they often followed a similar playbook. Earlier this year, dozens of transgender activists lined a hallway inside the state Legislative Office Building in anticipation of protesting a bill to protect women's sports. Beth Scaer attended the legislative hearing as well, taking pictures of the activists and their signs, much to the activists' chagrin. Paolini yelled, 'F*** you!' and grabbed Beth's phone and yanked it down, ostensibly in an unsuccessful attempt to knock it out of Beth's hand. The radicals attempted to block Beth's way and ordered her to stop taking pictures, insisting that taking pictures of them was somehow unlawful because two adults had brought along their child. Impervious to their demands, Beth continued her trek, so the activists began crowding around her in a menacing manner and requested that she stop taking pictures, even as several of them had whipped out their phones to take pictures or video as well. "Could you be a bit more polite to people?" one woman in a face mask passive-aggressively asked Beth as she tailed along beside her. Brave Beth repeatedly reminded the group that she had not done anything wrong since "this is a free country." However, when the activists stepped too close, Beth ordered to them to "stay away." — (@) One trans activist late last summer even resorted to violence to keep the Scaers from recording her public activism. At an alien event called Exeter UFO Festival in August, Beth was attacked by Laurie Paolini, a 61-year-old woman whose adult child identifies as transgender. Almost from the moment the Scaers arrived at the festival, wearing their signature anti-transgender sandwich signs, Paolini, who was then a stranger to the Scaers, showed signs of hostility. She repeatedly approached the Scaers, asking heated — though civil — questions and even once stopped to snap a selfie with Stephen. — (@) Then, suddenly, Paolini lost her cool. According to an arrest report, she gave Beth Scaer the middle finger, then proceeded to walk toward her until her middle finger was pressed to Beth's raised phone. A moment later, Paolini yelled, "F*** you!" and grabbed Beth's phone and yanked it down, ostensibly in an unsuccessful attempt to knock it out of Beth's hand. The entire incident was, of course, caught on Beth's body camera: (Warning: Language) — (@) Paolini later told an Exeter police officer that Beth had "shoved a phone in her face" and then "started following her around." Another woman gave the officer a similar version of events. But Beth's bodycam tape didn't lie. "I watched the footage," the officer wrote in the report. "... When Scaer took out her phone, at no point did she shove her phone in Paolini's face as she claimed and Scaer did not approach Paolini with her phone, it was Paolini who went up to Scaer." Paolini was arrested and charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor. In March, she pled guilty and was issued a fine of $372, which was immediately suspended, provided she has no further contact with Beth Scaer and otherwise has one year of "good behavior." Blaze News left a message at a phone number believed to be Paolini's but did not receive a returned call. 'I know you provoke them': NH officials apparently refuse to help The Exeter police officer who investigated Beth Scaer's run-in with Paolini helped secure the Scaers some measure of justice in the face of constant physical threats and harassment from NHPA peacekeepers and other trans activists. But in most cases, cops have not been very helpful for the couple. The Scaers have contacted New Hampshire State Police — the law enforcement agency in charge of policing the statehouse and its grounds — to report the NHPA peacekeepers for following them, barring their path, and engaging in other acts of aggression and intimidation during the Rainbow Recess event cited in an earlier section. Beth even furnished the agency with video evidence to support their claims. 'It is beyond parody that so many Democrats and so-called "moderate Republicans" are letting themselves be dictated to by a small histrionic group of far-left ideologues.' To date, no official report has been filed with the agency. Trooper Chris Rollston even reportedly insinuated that the Scaers got what they deserved. "I know you provoke them," Rollston allegedly told Beth, referring to the peacekeepers. The Scaers have likewise interacted with another security official, Chris Vetter, who is reportedly in charge of protecting the New Hampshire House. As with Rollston, those interactions have not led to any appreciable results. In fact, Beth believes Vetter might harbor resentment against her for some reason, perhaps because of her activism. She even suggested to Blaze News that he may have been "spreading rumors" about her, though she did not elaborate on the nature of those rumors. "My only guess is that Christopher Rollston was possibly counseled by Christopher Vetter about me not being someone he likes." Neither the Department of State Police nor NHSP Troop D, the troop to which Rollston reportedly belongs, responded to Blaze News' request for comment. The troopers are not the only authorities in the state who seem ambivalent about the cause of protecting kids against the transgender agenda. The state's most powerful political leader has thus far refused to take action, even after the legislature passed multiple bills related to protecting women and children against transvestic men. One bill, H.B. 396, simply gives businesses and localities the option of preserving sex-segregated spaces, including bathrooms, locker rooms, sports teams, and correctional facilities. Yet Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican, previously threatened to veto the measure. Sununu has since walked back some of his prior statements and has suggested more recently that he may be more amenable to signing H.B. 396 and others like it. He can even opt not to take any action on the measures, which would mean they would become law after five days. Cornerstone, a Christian advocacy organization in New Hampshire, hopes that Sununu will not prevent a tepid bill like H.B. 396 — which simply permits the possibility of sex-segregated spaces — from becoming law. "Only the most far-left 10% of our state opposes biological sex separation in our locker rooms, restrooms, and jails," said a statement from executive director Shannon McGinley. "It is beyond parody that so many Democrats and so-called 'moderate Republicans' are letting themselves be dictated to by a small histrionic group of far-left ideologues." Sununu did not respond to Blaze News' request for comment. With so few people in their state willing to take a stand to protect women and children, the Scaers believe they must continue fighting, no matter what torment befalls them. They even view the fight as personal now that one of their loved ones has died after first falling victim to the transgender agenda, though they asked Blaze News not to disclose further details about this private tragedy. As part of that fight, Stephen Scaer is running as a Republican for the state Senate in district 13, which includes the blue city of Nashua. While winning would be nice, he told Blaze News the real purpose behind his campaign is to bring more awareness to the horrors of the transgender movement. "I'm just using it to promote my cause of protecting boys and girls from this medical scandal and getting boys out of girls' sports and private spaces," he said. "I just want to give people a choice." Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!
