A policeman who testified against two left-wing extremists in a case involving drugs and bombs lives in the house in Gothenburg that was shaken early this morning by an explosion. Samnytt can now reveal that. According to Samnytt's information, one of the two left-wing extremists has recently been released from prison.
The policeman is in his 40s and works as a drug detective in Gothenburg. One evening in September 2019, he spied on a today 40-year-old man who is a well-known name in the left-wing extremist environment in Sweden. The 40-year-old was suspected of involvement in the city's drug trade.
When the man met another 44-year-old man during the evening, who was also singled out as a left-wing extremist, the police decided to strike. During a subsequent house search, drugs were found as expected; including cocaine, amphetamines and cannabis, but also detonators, detonators and advanced bomb disposal equipment.

Sentenced to prison
Last year, both men were sentenced to prison. In May, the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden sentenced the 40-year-old left-wing extremist to five and a half years in prison for, among other things, a serious drug offense. The 44-year-old, who was also convicted of a serious violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods, was sentenced to three years in prison.
Since the 44-year-old has been in custody since September 2019, and prisoners in prison in Sweden are released after serving two thirds of the sentence, the bomb-convicted 44-year-old must have been released as late as this month. However, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service does not want to comment on the information.
Due to confidentiality, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service cannot answer questions about detainees or detainees, or even confirm whether someone is detained or otherwise detained. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is prevented from answering your question ", writes the authority's publicity and secrecy lawyer Veronica Andersson in an email to Samnytt.
Threatened to life
The trial of the two left-wing extremists is not the only trial in which the policeman on Övre Husargatan was involved. He has previously testified in a gang-related trial, and was threatened with death six years ago by a man who later robbed an electric bicycle from a bicycle shop.
"I will look for his family tomorrow," said the robber in connection with his arrest by the police. For that, the robber was convicted of threatening an official.
The Gothenburg police do not want to comment on the information about the policeman who lives in the blast-hit property. Spokesman Stefan Gustafsson points out to Samnytt that they do not yet even know what caused the detonation.
- We have not carried out a technical investigation yet, we have not accessed the property, he says.
The spokesman also says that he can not comment on the preliminary investigation, but that no one has been arrested or brought in for questioning due to the detonation on Övre Husargatan.
- As far as I know, there is no suspect in the case, says Stefan Gustafsson.
