Smartmatic Brags About 'Integrity and Transparency' Hours After President Indicted for Fraud, Doesn't Bother to Deny Charges

Teen Mom with Triplets Had Nowhere to Turn, but Then a Special Angel Stepped In

Nurse Katrina Mullen's story of how she adopted four children will bring you to tears. When a teen mom with triplets had nowhere to turn, Katrina, a special angel, stepped in. Katrina's story is one you might relate to. Perhaps you were a mom at a young age, or maybe you found yourself in a situation when you had nowhere to turn. Her story is a powerful example of how deep compassion and empathy can change lives. Her decision to adopt triplets and support 14-year-old Shariya Small reveals a remarkable dedication to love and care. RELATED: 3 Siblings Up For Adoption Love Jesus And Long For A Home Together That Supports Their Faith Katrina Was a Single Mother Herself Katrina's own journey into motherhood began at just 16, and as a single mother herself, she understood the challenges and fears of young parenthood. This experience gave her a unique perspective and the ability to offer genuine support to others facing similar struggles. When Shariya Small, a young 14-year-old mother with three infants-Sarayah, Serenitee, and Samari-came into Katrina's life, she saw an opportunity to make a significant difference. Guided by a profound sense of love, Katrina mothered and supported Shariya and her triplets, welcoming them into her home and her heart. Beyond providing for their needs, Katrina also became a surrogate grandparent, offering emotional support and a deep connection. She knew from personal experience how overwhelming it could be for a young mother. "I wanted her to know that I was a teen mom, and that I knew how scary it was," Katrina said. Her own experiences allowed her to offer valuable guidance and comfort to Shariya, helping her navigate the challenges of early parenthood with a compassionate hand. The Nursed Adopted Shariya and Her Children As Shariya left the hospital with Sarayah, Serenitee, and Samari, she did so with the reassurance that she had a steadfast supporter in Katrina. But life took a turn for the worse, leaving Shariya on the verge of losing her children as social services stepped in. When Katrina learned that Shariya and her triplets would be placed in multiple homes in the foster care system, she volunteered to take them all in, even though she had five children of her own. That's when Shariya received a simple text message from Katrina that read, "I can't wait for you to come home." RELATED: Couple Reunited After 50 Years Then Hunted For The Child They Put Up For Adoption So Long Ago Katrina's involvement was more than just providing a home for the triplets; it was about being a reliable presence during a crucial time. Her understanding of Shariya's fears and struggles made her an exceptional source of support because she had been in Shariya's shoes. Through her actions, Katrina showed that love is not just about adopting children but about creating a nurturing environment where both parents and their children can thrive. When the nurse adopted them, she became the hands and feet of Jesus to Shariya and her children. They Found a Loving and Supportive Family The triplets found not only a new home but a loving, supportive family. Can you imagine what a relief it was for Shariya and her three children to find a forever home? She is now graduating from high school and getting ready to attend college to create a better future for her triplets–all because Katrina opened her heart and home. ALERT: World Health Organization Will Determine This Week If Outbreak Is Considered ‘Global Public Health Emergency’

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergency committee will meet on Wednesday to determine whether a mpox (monkeypox) outbreak in Africa is considered a ‘global public health emergency.’ The committee, which consists of ‘independent experts’ appointed by the WHO, will meet virtually and advise WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus whether mpox is a ‘public health emergency of international concern’ (PHEIC). “In light of the spread of #mpox outside #DRC, and the potential for further international spread within and outside Africa, I have decided to convene an Emergency Committee under the International Health Regulations to advise me on whether the outbreak represents a public health emergency of international concern,” Ghebreyesus said last week. “The committee will meet as soon as possible and will be made up of independent experts from a range of relevant disciplines from around the world,” he added. In June, Bavarian Nordic sent 15,000 doses of its vaccine to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), where the majority of cases have been detected. The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has called for “global solidarity”, pointing out that the region needs 10 million vaccine doses but currently has access to just 200,000. The agency confirmed it will also consider whether to declare a continental emergency this week. The virus has now been reported in at least 13 African countries this year. In the past month, four countries — Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda — have reported mpox cases for the first time. There have been 517 deaths from 17,541 confirmed and suspected human cases in 2024 so far. Pay attention to the WHO on Wednesday. What happened? Your vaccine didn’t work? — Informed NJ Nurses (@InformedNJNurse) August 12, 2024 “I am convening the Emergency Committee regarding the upsurge of #mpox on Wednesday 14 August 2024,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. “The Committee will provide me with its views on whether the outbreak constitutes a public health emergency of international concern — and if so, it will advise me on the temporary recommendations on how to better prevent and reduce the spread of the disease and manage the global public health response,” he added. The disease causes fever, muscle aches and large boil-like skin lesions. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is the country currently most affected by the latest outbreak, with 14,479 confirmed and suspected cases by August 3 and 455 deaths, according to the African Union’s health agency.

Battleground State Announces Voters “Won’t Always Know The Final Results Of All Races On Election Night”

Pennsylvania, arguably the most crucial state in the 2024 presidential election, issued a cryptic message that made readers ponder election integrity concerns. “Pennsylvanians won’t always know the final results of all races on election night. Any changes in results that occur as counties continue to count ballots are not evidence that an election is ‘rigged,'” the Pennsylvania Department of State announced. Any changes in results that occur as counties continue to count ballots are not evidence that an election is “rigged.” See the full explanation at https://t.co/viVtWSw4HL. pic.twitter.com/gbaDh8lJpX — PA Department of State (@PAStateDept) August 8, 2024 * Image from Pennsylvania Department of State X Post * Is Pennsylvania prepping voters about the potential calamity on election night this November? Although other states and countries can tally election results the same night, the battleground state told voters not to expect prompt results in all races. “Florida elections have millions more votes cast than in PA elections, yet we count the votes and report the results on election night — and do so in an efficient and transparent manner. There is no reason why this cannot be done in every state in America,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis commented. Now, when people vote on Election Day and the six weeks prior, we are told it takes weeks to count — but mysteriously only in the deep blue areas, who conveniently will know the exact margin needed for victory,” Stephen Miller said. So when everyone voted on Election Day we got the results in 1 night. Now, when people vote on Election Day and the six weeks prior, we are told it takes weeks to count — but mysteriously only in the deep blue areas, who conveniently will know the exact margin needed for victory. https://t.co/5T19r4NdbF — Stephen Miller (@StephenM) August 11, 2024 From the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania: While we would all like to go to bed on election night knowing who won in every race, determining unofficial results is a days-long process because county elections officials must follow the careful, deliberative process and timeline prescribed by Pennsylvania’s Election Code to achieve a thorough count of every eligible vote. An accurate count of all votes cast by eligible voters is paramount to our democracy and cannot be rushed. County election workers must be given a reasonable amount of time to do their jobs and follow the law. Even after the initial rounds of unofficial vote tallies are recorded and published, county canvass boards must continue the elections work. Those boards must meet no later than 9 a.m. on the Friday after the election and must continue canvassing and counting through the eighth day after the election. Among other work, these boards adjudicate provisional ballots — ballots that are cast when it’s unclear if the voter is in the correct polling place or when a voter who applied for a mail ballot decides to vote in person instead but doesn’t have their mail ballot to surrender. It’s important to note that at every step — during in-person voting at the polls, pre-canvassing and canvassing of mail ballots, and adjudication of provisional ballots — representatives selected by each candidate and political party may be present and observe the process to ensure the integrity of the vote count. While news media “call” races on election night when there appears to be a wide and seemingly insurmountable margin between candidates, it’s important to note that they are basing their calls on unofficial results. In close races, every vote must be counted before the outcome can be known. TIME called Pennsylvania the “biggest prize on the board right now and the most important piece of Democrats’ firewall against Trump.” Several X users have noted Pennsylvania’s importance in the 2024 presidential election. I’m glad people are excited about New York, but this is about winning. Pennsylvania remains the priority. — ThePersistence (@ScottPresler) April 17, 2024 Pennsylvania IS the key! That’s why of every battleground state resources, volunteers, and lawyers for election integrity must laser focus on the Keystone State! https://t.co/HGFoNtAtOr — Paul Ingrassia (@PaulIngrassia) August 6, 2024 Pennsylvania is Trump’s most important state assuming he flips GA and AZ https://t.co/kmF73Xjf2O — Brendon Leslie (@BrendonLeslie) August 12, 2024 From TIME: A combined $211 million of White House-focused messages is set to air in Pennsylvania alone, according to Axios’ analysis of ad spending, and it’s the one state where there’s relative parity in spending. Democrats’ campaign and super PACs are set to cover $109 million of it while Republicans’ efforts will power $102 million in the window between the end of the GOP primary and Election Day, both sides hoping to snag the state’s 19 electoral votes. Put plainly: it’s a rare fair fight where Republicans are matching Democrats’ ad spending, and it’s the most expensive sandbox for either party. Polling, too, shows a fierce fight. Trump is ever-so-slightly ahead there by about 2 points, but well within the margins of error in the surveys. Democrats outnumber Republicans in the state by about 4 points, but independents still claim about 11% of voters. Essentially, the state remains a jump ball, and one that is tough to catch and even tougher to hold. To wit: at this point in 2016, Hillary Clinton was up 8 points over Trump and four years later Biden was up by 5 points. Come Election Day, Clinton lost the state to Trump by less than 1 point, and Biden carried it by about the same margin. No one from either party should feel cocky about Pennsylvania.
