President Trump Takes Bold Move to Undo Biden’s Last-Minute Ban On Offshore Drilling

Drill, baby, drill! In a bold move, President Trump reversed Joe Biden’s last-minute ban on future offshore drilling by directing Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to open up 625 million acres of territory. Check it out: BREAKING: President Trump and Doug Burgum announce they are opening 625 million acres of offshore territory for drilling, reversing Biden’s last-minute ban before he left office. pic.twitter.com/Fl2kh3K0db — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) February 14, 2025 Trump just opened up 625 million acres of offshore drilling. LFG pic.twitter.com/Zv8VSsaRLU — Texas Patriot (@Texasbrn) February 14, 2025 Shortly before leaving office, Joe Biden signed an executive order to ban new oil and gas leases in these expansive 625 million acres of territory, which included the entire East Coast and a significant area of the West Coast. Per The White Case: On January 6, 2025, President Biden invoked Section 12(a) of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA) to take an executive action prohibiting new oil and gas leases in vast offshore areas. President Biden cited the environmental and economic risks associated with offshore drilling, particularly the threat to coastal communities, marine ecosystems, and local economies reliant on fishing, tourism, and recreation. This action builds on previous withdrawals, including prior protection of portions of the Northern Bering Sea and the Beaufort Sea in the U.S. Arctic Ocean. Scope of the Drilling Ban: The ban covers more than 625 million acres, representing the largest withdrawal in U.S. history. The affected areas include: The entire U.S. East Coast, from Canada to the southern tip of Florida, and the eastern Gulf of Mexico, totaling approximately 334 million acres. Nearly 250 million acres off the West Coast, encompassing the coastlines of California, Oregon, and Washington. An additional 44 million acres in Alaska’s Northern Bering Sea, known as the Northern Bering Sea Climate Resilience Area. But, President Trump has swiftly tossed out that Biden-era order. In addition to the reversal on Biden’s offshore drilling ban, President Trump established a National Energy Dominance Council to boost our nation’s oil and gas production. From AP: President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order formally creating a National Energy Dominance Council and directed it to move quickly to drive up already record-setting domestic oil and gas production. Trump’s administration also announced it has granted conditional export authorization for a huge liquefied natural gas project in Louisiana, the first approval of new LNG exports since former President Joe Biden paused consideration of them a year ago. And Trump said he has directed Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to undo Biden’s ban on future offshore oil drilling on the East and West coasts. Biden’s last-minute action last month “viciously took out” more than 625 million acres offshore that could contribute to the nation’s “net worth,” Trump said. E&E News added: The council formed Friday by the stroke of a pen was first announced by the president last year, when Trump named Burgum as his nominee to lead Interior. Trump has often praised Burgum’s smarts on energy policy, saying last year that Burgum “probably knows more about energy than anybody I know.” “Energy security is also national security,” Burgum said in a podcast earlier this week. “President Trump’s vision for energy dominance is that we’re selling energy to our friends and allies, not having them buy it from our adversaries.” The U.S. is currently producing more oil and natural gas than any country in history. Much of that is exported. Shortly after taking office, Trump lifted a pause on liquefied natural gas export terminal applications imposed by the Biden administration in a nod to his desire to export more U.S. energy. President Trump’s focus on energy dominance through boosting domestic oil and gas production will contribute to the prosperity of our nation as a whole. It should also bring those gas prices back down! I’m totally for it; how about you?

‘Who Will Kill Elon?’: Seeming Threat Against Elon Musk Scrawled On NY Overpass

Driving into work on Thursday morning, some residents in Rochester, New York, saw an apparent threat against billionaire and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Chair Elon Musk scrawled on an overpass. The Daily Wire spoke to two residents who saw the graffiti, photos of which have been posted online. The graffiti reads, “Who will kill Elon?” It was plastered on a 490 off-ramp bridge to Howell Street. Welcome to Rochester NY. pic.twitter.com/sqmj6AqgyC — Bob Lonsberry (@BobLonsberry) February 13, 2025 Barbara Pierce, Director of Bureau of Communications & Special Events for the City of Rochester, told The Daily Wire via email on Thursday that the “offensive graffiti” was removed “as soon as the city became aware of it.” The Daily Wire also reached out to the Rochester Police Department and New York State police about the incident, but has yet to receive a response. In recent weeks, Democrats have picked up their attacks on Musk, whom they suggest is causing a “constitutional crisis” as he finds waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. This past week, for example, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) called Musk a “d***” who is “harming the American public in an enormous way” and called for Americans to bring “actual weapons to this bar fight.” “What I think is really important and what the American public want is for us to bring actual weapons to this bar fight,” he said on CNN airwaves. “This is an actual fight for democracy, for the future of this country. And it’s important to push back on the chairperson of this committee.” PRESIDENTS’ DAY SALE! 40% Off DailyWire+ Annual Memberships With Code DW40 Other prominent Democrats have used similarly incendiary language when it comes to Musk. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed those attacks during a press briefing. “President Trump was elected with a mandate by the American People to make this government more efficient,” she told reporters. “He campaigned across this country with Elon Musk, vowing that Elon was going to head up the Department of Government Efficiency, and the two of them, with a great team around them, were going to look at the receipts of this federal government and ensure it’s accountable to American taxpayers. That’s all that is happening here.” “If you heard that type of violence-inciting rhetoric from our side of the aisle, from Republican leaders on Capitol Hill, I think there would be a lot more outrage in this room today.”@PressSec addresses Democrat leaders’ outrage over DOGE. pic.twitter.com/hsFyL2PnyF — Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) February 5, 2025 This post will be updated if we receive a response from police. Some Couples Will Be Cuddling Under The Northern Lights This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day falls on a weekend this year, which could mean extra romance for some couples. There will be plenty of roses, chocolates, and candlelit dinners on earth. You may even snuggle up for a rom-com to cap off the weekend. But for those looking for a little something extra, Mother Nature’s got you covered. Well, some of you. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Northern Lights may be visible in portions of Canada and the United States on Valentine’s Day. In order to get a good look, you have to be in the right place at the right time. Incredible View of the Northern Lights from the ISSNASA pic.twitter.com/6HTPZMAtO4— Black Hole (@konstructivizm) February 14, 2025 The Northern Lights Will Be Visible on Valentine’s Day Late At Night Per the Space Weather Prediction Center, the best places to see the northern lights are portions of Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, and Maine. Typically, the best time to see the northern lights is within a couple of hours of midnight. They shine the best between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. In order to get a really good look, the conditions must be clear. According to NOAA, “Go out at night. Get away from city lights. The full moon will also diminish the apparent brightness of the aurora (not the actual brightness). One caveat that people often neglect to think of is that the high latitudes where aurora occur are also latitudes where it doesn’t get dark in the summer. So combining a summer vacation to the Arctic with aurora-watching usually doesn’t work. The aurora may still be there, but it is only visible when it is dark.” Don’t worry if you don’t have a chance to see the northern lights on Valentine’s Day. Mother Nature loves to put on encore performances. This story’s featured image can be found here.
