CNN Panel Imagines Images of Crying Mothers to Battle Trump On Birthright Citizenship

Find me a crying mother: STAT! It's a classic liberal-media tactic. Want to combat a conservative policy? Find individual instances that will play on the public's heartstrings. In a segment today on Trump's executive order banning birthright citizenship, CNN This Morning provided a classic example of the strategy. Former Biden communications director Kate Bedingfield teed up the scenario: "I think Trump seems, uh, sometimes to be quite gleeful in pursuing policies that are, you know, hurting young children or hurting young families. You'll continue to see, I would imagine, more and more images of women with young children crying because they don't know what is going to happen to their kid." Thompson echoed that thought, that Democrats will have every incentive that we will "start seeing these images, potentially of families being split up, potentially, you know, this gleeful nature." Then reverse the thought: relatives of people victimized by criminal migrants will not be newsworthy anecdotes. Only the visuals that please a Democrat will be used. Remember TIME magazine's phony 2018 cover placing a crying little girl in front of President Trump to underline family separations. There was only one problem: this child was never separated from her mother. They were apprehended at the border. TIME's editor said never mind the accuracy stuff, this cover still "captures the stakes" of Trump's border policies.  Host Kasie Hunt was only too happy to make Thompson and Bedingfield's predictions come true. Quoting from an article in The Independent, a British newspaper, Hunt relayed the story of "Monica," a pregnant Venezuelan migrant who has been in the US for six years. According to The Independent, as a result of Trump's executive order, Monica "is stressed, anxious and 'depressed, facing a 'reality that my child might not be able to become a U.S. citizen.'”  The Independent article claimed that Monica and her husband are “trying to do everything to make their home here." Apparently, one thing Monica isn't doing to make America her home: learning English. After being in the US for six years, Monica still had to speak through an interpreter.  Hunt claimed that Monica and her husband are "in the process of seeking asylum." Six years in the US, and their asylum claim hasn't been adjudicated one way or the other? Sounds like Monica is "seeking asylum" about as diligently as she has been learning English. And with Biden in office for the last four years, why bother?  Here's the transcript. CNN This Morning 1/24/25 6:08 am ET KATE BEDINGFIELD: The point of immigration enforcement should not be cruelty. I think this is where Democrats can really split, um, with the Trump administration. I think Trump seems sometimes to be quite gleeful in pursuing policies that are, you know, hurting young children or hurting young families. You'll continue to see, I would imagine, more and more, uh, you know, images of women with young children crying because they don't know what is going to happen to their kid. I mean, there are, um, human and painful images that emerge that Trump, I think, sometimes comes across as seeming gleeful about. And that is where I think Democrats can very aggressively split with him.  . . .  ALEX THOMPSON: There is every political incentive for a lot of Democrats to end up, to try to stand up to the Trump administration when they start doing these orders. And when we start seeing these images, potentially of families being split up, potentially, you know, this gleeful nature.  And so I think you're going to actually see a bunch of Democrats, not even just Denver, I think you're going to see a bunch of Democrats across the country try to actually stand up to some of these actions.  KASIE HUNT: Yeah, Elliot, let me ask you about this, just because the one pregnant woman talked to The Independent, the newspaper The Independent, and her name is Monica. Monica and her husband arrived in the U.S. from Venezuela six years ago. They've been building a life, trying to do everything to make their home here. They're in the process of seeking asylum.  Obviously, Venezuela has had so much political violence and challenges. "'Working, paying taxes. We were able to buy a home', she said. 'We had reached a point of stability in this country and wanted to have a child.' She's now 12 weeks pregnant. 'I should be worried about the health of my child. I should be thinking about that,' she said. Instead, she is stressed, anxious, and 'depressed,' facing reality that my child might not be able to become a US citizen."  ELLIOT WILLIAMS: It was quite deliberate that some of the immigration groups that filed suits named pregnant women as plaintiffs, knowing that this sort of legal limbo was going to come up and they could present to the courts that, you know, look at the mess that this has created for people who plainly, by any reading of the Constitution, are citizens and will be citizens of the United States.  You don't have to like it. If you don't like it, amend the Constitution, get, you know, two-thirds of the states to agree to it. But this is the law. It has been since the founding of the nation. Make it work.

Charlamagne Demands Dems Stop 'Frolicking With Fascist Bull****,' Treat Trump Like Hitler

As Donald Trump began his second term, some Democrats expressed a willingness to work with him on certain issues, which struck radio host Charlamagne Tha God as odd considering they ran on treating Trump as a threat to democracy. However, instead of realizing that maybe all the Hitler and fascist comparisons were hysterical, Charlamagne demanded on Thursday’s episode of The Daily Show on Comedy Central that Democrats stop “frolicking with fascist bullshit” and act like he really is a fascist. After a montage of Democratic governors claiming they will work with Trump where they can, Charlamagne condemned the idea, “Collaboration, really? Like, you called him Hitler, but now you're saying that "Hitler has some good ideas?" That's the same thing Kanye said, and we don't even let him make sneakers anymore! What are you even gonna collaborate on? Are you gonna make sure the immigrant concentration camps run on solar power?”     Charlamagne then introduced another montage that included CBS’s Jericka Duncan and a trio of GOP politicians, “Listen, man, Donald Trump won this election by a little over two million votes, and Democrats are acting like he's unstoppable. Do you remember how Republicans acted when Biden won by seven million votes?” The clips included the following: JERICKA DUNCAN: Republican senators are vowing to use the filibuster to derail President Biden's legislative agenda. SEN. MITCH MCCONNELL: One hundred percent of my focus is on stopping this new administration. SEN. JOHN BARASSO: I want to make Joe Biden a one-half-term president. REP. MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: On January 21st, I will be filing articles of impeachment on Joe Biden. Each one of those four can be rebutted. First, after years of labeling the filibuster a tool of Jim Crow, Democrats are already using it to stop conservative legislation. Second, McConnell was clearly talking about areas where he and Biden would disagree, but not blind contrarianism because he ended up voting for Biden’s infrastructure bill and is still one of the party’s biggest Ukraine supporters. Third, just because The Daily Show is a comedy show does not mean it can get away with hatchet journalism. Here is Barasso’s full quote: "I want to make Joe Biden a one-half-term president. And I want to do that by making sure they no longer have House, Senate, White House.” Does anyone really believe Democrats don’t desire the same thing? Finally, Greene’s impeachment efforts went nowhere, even when the GOP retook the House, a stark contrast to Democrats during Trump’s first term. Facts may be stubborn things, but they are also things Charlamagne ignores for the sake of his narrative, “You see that? That's what you call being space laser-focused. Okay? Okay? They tried to impeach Biden on day one for the crime of getting elected. I like that energy, though. I like it. They weren't worried about alienating Democrats, they said, ‘[Bleep] Democrats.’ They riled up their base, and it worked. Today, Democrats are patting themselves on the back for allowing a peaceful transfer of power. And I have no problem with conceding the election, but don't concede the Constitution.  Charlamagne then pleaded, “Democrats, I am begging you, for once, treat Republicans the way they treat you. And treat Trump as if you believed everything you said about him is true! The four days we've just seen shows us where all this is going. When there's a train speeding toward a cliff, people don't want you going, ‘I'm gonna work with the conductor to fix the Wi-Fi.’ They want you to stop the damn train!" Finally, he concluded by expressing that, “I'm mad at the Democrats for acting like they're the ones too high to remember anything they said in the campaign. Democrats better get focused. Midterms are 21 months away. So y'all need to take that frolicking with fascists bullshit and drop it like it's hot.” Here is a transcript for the January 23 show: Comedy Central The Daily Show 1/23/2025 11:17 PM ET CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: Collaboration, really? Like, you called him Hitler, but now you're saying that "Hitler has some good ideas?" That's the same thing Kanye said, and we don't even let him make sneakers anymore! What are you even gonna collaborate on? Are you gonna make sure the immigrant concentration camps run on solar power?  Listen, man, Donald Trump won this election by a little over two million votes, and Democrats are acting like he's unstoppable. Do you remember how Republicans acted when Biden won by seven million votes? 'Who's got ahold of my son?' Liberal parents panic over losing their sons to MAGA

Some liberal parents have discovered that their sons aren't simply disinterested in their woke worldviews but are actually leaning hard in the opposite direction, donning MAGA hats and turning their backs on land acknowledgments, climate alarmism, fake pronouns, DEI, depopulationist rhetoric, and attacks on masculinity. The New York Times ran a sob piece Sunday titled, "When Your Son Goes MAGA," detailing progressives' increasing difficulty speaking to the young men in their lives who voted for President Donald Trump. Alex Behr, for instance — a 59-year-old Democrat in Portland, Oregon, who "voted enthusiastically" for Kamala Harris — figured her son for a "thoughtful college junior who had a serious skateboarding phase" until she and her ex-husband made the "appall[ing]" discovery that 20-year-old Eli, whom they adopted from China, had a mind of his own. Apparently Alex Behr's strategy of tossing her son's "Make America Great Again" hat, telling him "facts don't matter to you," and badgering him over his views on guns, immigration, and abortion was ineffective. Eli Behr voted for Trump. Alex Behr, concerned over her son's exposure to political views besides her own, told the Times, "I've had to do a lot of soul-searching and reading about it to not feel like I've failed as a mom." Whereas his mother is working to displace blame for her domineering reflex in therapy sessions, Eli is apparently maintaining a level head. "I love my mom," Eli told the paper, which indicated that he refrains from wearing his MAGA hat around his mother as a nicety. "I want her to stay a part of my family." The Times told the tale of another leftist couple's perceived bereavement — that of Chris and Melanie Morlan of Spokane, Washington. Everything was apparently working out nicely for the Morlans back when their son would still parrot their political views. However, around the time that Black Lives Matter rioters and other leftists started tearing coastal cities apart in 2020, their son reportedly began listening to YouTube channels that disparaged feminism and diversity, equity, and inclusion and, even more troubling, signaled support for Trump. Their 24-year-old son was ultimately drawn to the Republican Party "as a defender of more conventional notions of manhood" — an appeal CNN talking head Dana Bash alluded to during the Democratic National Convention in August when she suggested that whereas the Republican Party courted the "testosterone-laden, you know, gun-toting kind of guy," Democrats were courting the Doug Emhoff and Tim Walz variety, "a man comfortable in his own skin who supports a woman." Realizing she was losing her son to traditional conventions of manhood, Melanie Morlan, a family therapist, asked herself, "Who's got ahold of my son?" Although keen to patronize her son, who voted for Trump in 2024, Melanie Morlan took a more diplomatic approach than Behr. 'Everything you're doing is destroying the planet. You've got to eat your peas.' "I always tell him, 'I might get worried about you and I might feel sad because I don't think you understand some things that maybe you will down the road,'" Morland told the Times. "'But I'm going to love you more when you're struggling, because it's just politics.'" In 2020, 41% of men ages 18-29 voted for Trump. Four years later, that number jumped to 55% — a spike that should have surprised no one. Democratic strategist James Carville noted in a Times interview several months ahead of the election that the left was doing a great job of alienating red-blooded American men. "'Don't drink beer. Don't watch football. Don't eat hamburgers. This is not good for you,'" said Carville. "The message is too feminine: 'Everything you're doing is destroying the planet. You've got to eat your peas.'" While "feminine" browbeating coupled with the left's "faculty lounge" attitudes and "woke stuff" proved to be ballot-box poison, as Carville indicated, there were motivators besides the leftist chatter in the nation's capital. The same month, the Guardian noted that young men's shift rightward was not just prompted by the society-wide feminism that painted them as monsters but by their corresponding push out of higher education and into financial uncertainty and depression. Richard Reeves, head of the American Institute for Boys and Men, said, "This is less about young men being pulled towards the right than it is about them being pushed away from the left." "Economically [men under 30 are] getting shafted, politically they're getting shafted, culturally no one's looking out for them," Daniel A. Cox, director of the Survey Center on American Life at the American Enterprise Institute, told the Times in August, indicating that Trump represented a remedy and another way. Alex Behr and Melanie Morlan have wondered what exactly about Trump and MAGA attracted their sons. They might be better served asking what about their leftist worldviews wouldn't harm or repulse them in the first place. Like Blaze News? Car stolen from Ottawa Senator's forward Claude Giroux for second time this season

Canadian hockey player Claude Giroux is only in his third season with the Ottawa Senators, but he has already been the victim of two auto thefts. The 37-year-old former NHL All-Star rarely posts on social media, however, his wife, Ryanne, likes to keep fans updated when they are victims of crimes ... which happens all too often. For the second time in the 2024-2025 season, Mrs. Giroux said the hockey player had his car stolen."Good morning to everyone except the people who stole our loaner car ... lol," Ryanne said on X just after 10 a.m. on Thursday.According to CTV News, the car was a loaner, but the theft happened in the driveway of the Giroux family home. — (@) Canada's capital indeed has an auto theft problem, and the Giroux family knows about it firsthand. In September, the hockey wife noted online that her family had been unable to get help from police despite their car being stolen and tracked as it drove. The car was later identified as a Land Rover."Good morning Ottawa! [Claude Giroux's] car was stolen last night and is currently actively driving ... unable to get ahold of Ottawa Police until 10am," she wrote at 8:19 a.m. She added, "Looking for other suggestions/to hear from other people in Ontario who have sadly had to deal with this recently."About 30 minutes after her post, Ottawa Police replied online and said they were "sorry to hear" about the crime and suggested calling 911 to report any crime in progress."We understand an officer has been dispatched," they added.A local radio station, for some reason, also wrote, "We're being told with any crime in progress, call 911." — (@) Giroux was on a three-game road trip with the Senators at the time of the crime and is once again an example of a professional athlete who was targeted while away playing a game.Four illegal immigrants in Ohio were recently arrested after a robbery at NFL quarterback Joe Burrow's house, while robberies of Kansas City Chiefs players Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes and NHL player Evgeni Malkin have also occurred.Ottawa's car thefts totaled 1,705 in 2024, with 951 vehicles reportedly recovered. There have already been 103 vehicle thefts in Ottawa from Jan. 1-23 in 2025.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Immigration attorney — once illegally in the US — resigns as judge following FBI raid

Judge Joseph Molina Flynn for the Central Falls Municipal Court in Providence County, Rhode Island, abruptly resigned on Thursday after the FBI conducted a raid on his law offices.Molina Flynn, an immigration attorney in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, was appointed as a judge in January 2021. 'I was deeply concerned to see the reports of an FBI search.'According to his law office's website, Molina Flynn was "the first gay person to hold that seat and the first formerly undocumented Judge in Rhode Island."Molina Flynn was born in Medellin, Colombia, and arrived in the U.S. on a tourist visa at 9 years old. He remained in the country illegally for another 15 years before he obtained lawful permanent residency, the law office website states. Molina Flynn obtained his U.S. citizenship in September 2014.His law practice, founded in 2015, specializes in immigration, family, and criminal cases. "These three areas of law have been the focus of Joseph's legal career beginning with his time in law school. He often works with other practitioners as a 'crimmigration' consultant," the website read.As a judge for the Municipal Court, Molina Flynn hears "various cases," including "traffic and parking offenses, violations of the minimum housing code statute, and the violation of any ordinance," according to the city's website. His court has the authority to impose a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of $500. Upon his appointment in 2021, Molina Flynn told the Providence Journal, "I'm just extremely overwhelmed with gratitude that I live in a world where I can live my truth and still be able to achieve something like being appointed to the Municipal Court.""It wasn't that long ago that all of this would have been unheard of," he added. On Thursday morning, FBI agents raided his law offices on Dorrance Street in downtown Providence, according to the Providence Journal.Jim Martin, a spokesman for U.S. Attorney Zachary Cunha's office, told the news outlet, "There is court authorized activity at that location."A spokesperson for the FBI repeated a similar statement to the Providence Journal.Sources told the news outlet that the office was the focus of the FBI's investigation. The reason for the raid is not immediately clear.Footage of the raid captured by WJAR showed FBI agents carrying several boxes of files out of the law office.Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera announced Molina Flynn's resignation following the agency's search."I was deeply concerned to see the reports of an FBI search at the law office of Joseph Molina Flynn," Rivera stated. "As the Central Falls community knows, transparency and accountability are priorities of mine. In an effort to uphold the integrity and focus of the Municipal Court, Judge Molina Flynn has officially resigned his position."Rivera, elected in 2021, appointed Molina Flynn, who was responsible for overseeing the city's traffic calendar.Sources reportedly told WPRI that the FBI's investigation began under the former Biden administration and was not tied to President Donald Trump's immigration-related executive orders.According to the sources, the FBI is investigating allegations that Molina Flynn defrauded individuals seeking his counsel on immigration matters.Molina Flynn is not currently facing any charges. He did not respond to a request for comment from WPRI.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

ChatGPT Operator is brilliant, but it’s not worth $200/month

OpenAI surprised the world on Thursday when it announced Operator AI agents for ChatGPT. Given the latest leaks, I knew the Operator launch was imminent, but I thought OpenAI would want to make a bigger deal about releasing its first AI agent that can do things for the user. It turns out Operator doesn't need much fuss, and a short livestream was enough to demonstrate this evolution of ChatGPT that I've been dying to see. After watching the demos on OpenAI's website and the full live stream, I'm absolutely convinced OpenAI is onto something here. Operator appears to be a brilliant tool that could change how people use computers. But I also know for certain that I wouldn't pay the $200/month ChatGPT Pro subscription needed to access it.
