House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) is looking into whether GoFundMe and Eventbrite cooperated with federal law enforcement during their investigation into the financial transactions of supporters of former President Donald Trump.  Jordan wrote to executives at both companies on Monday‚ asking them to provide any communications with the FBI and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network‚ a bureau of the Treasury Department. He noted that FinCEN emailed banks about flagging “MAGA” and “TRUMP” transactions.  After the January 6‚ 2021‚ breach at the U.S. Capitol‚ FinCEN asked banks to help federal law enforcement identify transactions of Trump supporters and others who purchased religious texts or visited certain outdoor stores‚ such as Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. FinCEN provided the banks with documentation on various typologies‚ suggested search terms‚ and also pointed them to crowdfunding sites‚ according to Jordan. The congressman previously said‚ “FinCEN warned financial institutions of ‘extremism’ indicators.”  Jordan said in his letter to GoFundMe CEO Tim Cadogan that FinCen “emailed financial institutions a list of ‘crowdfunding sites’ that included GoFundMe‚ Eventbrite‚ and Anedot‚ among others‚ and explained how financial institutions could use a ‘transaction reference’ to identify customers making certain transactions on crowdfunding sites.” “For example‚ in the email‚ FinCEN alerted financial institutions to customers’ use of Eventbrite‚ noting that ‘people have been observed using this site to post an event and sell tickets including bus tickets to the demonstrations‚’” Jordan added.  Jordan noted how transactions for individuals who “purchased tickets to events in support of President Trump” were flagged by FinCEN as potential targets for investigation.  “Despite these transactions having no apparent nexus to criminal activity — and‚ in fact‚ relate to Americans exercising their First Amendment rights — FinCEN seems to have adopted a characterization of these Americans as potential threat actors‚” Jordan wrote. “This kind of pervasive financial surveillance‚ carried out in coordination with federal law enforcement‚ without legal process‚ into Americans’ private transactions is alarming and raises serious concerns about the federal government’s potential abuses of Americans’ fundamental civil liberties.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP In his letters‚ Jordan requested any communications from the FBI or FinCEN to either GoFundMe or Eventbrite. As voters head to the polls on Tuesday to choose their preference in the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries‚ many Americans will also vote in important down-ballot races. Here are some down-ballot races to keep an eye on as the results start pouring in on Tuesday evening: California Senate Primary Numerous Democrats and Republicans are running for the seat of the late Sen. Adam Schiff‚ Katie Porter‚ Barbara Lee‚ and former MLB player Steve Garvey‚ a Republican‚ are expected to be in a tight race for the top two spots. Roland Gutierrez are the favorites in a crowded field to win the party’s nomination. In 2018‚ Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke lost to Cruz by more than 200‚000 votes. No Democrat has won an election for statewide office in Texas in 30 years‚ according to the Associated Press. The most recent polls on the Democratic primary in Texas show Allred leading Gutierrez by double digits‚ with one poll showing the former Tennessee Titans player ahead by 38 points. If one candidate doesn’t get a majority of votes in the primary‚ the top two candidates will head to a runoff election on May 28. Texas GOP House Primary Another Texas race‚ this one for a U.S. House seat‚ could be a close contest as 11 Republicans look to move on to the general election. Brandon Gill‚ the son-in-law of conservative documentary filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza‚ is endorsed by both Trump and Cruz. He is considered the frontrunner in the race with John Huffman‚ the mayor of Southlake‚ Texas‚ being his most prominent challenger. The Republican candidates are looking to win the seat of outgoing Rep. Michael Burgess‚ who announced in November that he would retire at the end of his current term. A candidate must get more than 50% of the vote to win the primary. The top two candidates will move on to a runoff in May if no candidate reaches the majority threshold. Alabama GOP House Primary A primary in the red state of Alabama is pitting two incumbent Republicans against each other after the state redistricted. Reps. Jerry Carl and Barry Moore‚ both second-term congressmen‚ must now fight for the 1st District seat. Moore is backed by House Freedom Action‚ a group tied to the conservative House Freedom Caucus‚ of which Moore is a member. Since Alabama’s 1st District is safely Republican‚ the winner of Tuesday’s primary is expected to win the general election in November easily. A recent poll from the University of Auburn Montgomery shows Carl leading Moore 43% to 35%. North Carolina Gubernatorial Primaries Both Republicans and Democrats will vote for a nominee in the North Carolina gubernatorial primaries on Tuesday. Democratic Governor Roy Cooper is term-limited after this year‚ serving in the governor’s mansion since 2017. On the GOP side‚ Trump-endorsed candidate Mark Robinson‚ who is currently the state’s lieutenant governor‚ is facing two other Republican candidates‚ Bill Graham and Dale Folwell. For Democrats‚ state Attorney General Josh Stein is widely expected to win the party’s primary as he looks to fend off four challengers. The general election for North Carolina governor is expected to be competitive and expensive. According to polling‚ Robinson and Stein are neck-and-neck in a potential general election matchup.

I also learned that the Veterans Hospitals were treating more and more injured service members each day. I knew I wanted to do something to help my peers who were facing the greatest challenges of their lives and to support the hospitals caring for them. I also wanted to honor the service of my late Grandfather who had honorably served in WWII. Pin-Ups for Vets is Born I had always loved the aesthetics of the 1940s and the old-time pin-up girls of that era. I also admired the wonderful nose art of women painted on the WWII bombers. These ladies boosted morale for the Troops and helped them remember the girl next door who they might return to after the war. I put the calendar together in 2006 and printed a few hundred of the fundraiser calendars to try to sell. I sold all the calendars. Then‚ I donated all the money to my local Veterans Hospital for a program treating the Iraq War Veterans. The Calendars Prove to be A Massive Success I thought I’d do the one calendar and make the single donation. But‚ surprisingly‚ people started to ask when next year’s calendar would be ready. I posed in the next five calendars‚ always trying to look like different old-time pin-up girls. Thank you so much for that visit‚ and I’m looking forward to sending the 2015 calendar out to a few patients in the hospital.
