THANKS! Joy Reid Promotes Anti-Grooming Provisions of Project 2025

MSNBC’s bitter race essentialist Joy Reid has crafted a recurring segment wherein she provides material assistance to the (now) Harris campaign’s efforts to disinform people into believing that Project 2025 is somehow an official product of the Trump campaign. In so doing, she exposed the generalized degeneracy of the left. Watch as Reid decries the Project 2025 proposals dealing with the rollback and repeal of statutes and regulations that facilitate the sexualization of children and/or grooming into a potential gender transition: MSNBC THE REIDOUT 8/12/24 7:37 PM JOY REID: They plan to rescind any regulations prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, transgender status and sex characteristics. Including by rescinding moves by the Biden Administration to extend Title IX protections. That’s the civil rights law that prohibits educational institutions receiving federal funds from discriminating on the basis of sex or gender, to include LGBTQ students too. They want to create a national version of Florida's “Don't Say Gay” policy. They want to criminalize educators who create safe environments for all kids. And finally, while they do not explicitly say they want to reverse the Supreme Court ruling that made marriage equality a constitutional right, they do explain how Republicans can undermine it by eliminating any federal policies that promote LGBTQ equality, or policies that exclusively assist single moms. After building up tonight’s boogeyman, Reid then had a transgender ACLU attorney on to further talk about the imagined horrors of the policy proposals outlined in the anti-grooming section of Project 2025. But in trying to create revulsion and horror for Project 2025 in service of a Harris campaign narrative, Reid’s bleatings may well end up accomplishing the exact opposite. I, for one, was blissfully unaware of the full contents of Project 2025, or of its provisions calling for repeal of the Biden Department of Education’s catastrophic rewrite, under Secretary Miguel Cardona, of Title IX. Title IX, as enacted by Congress, famously banned discrimination in federal educational programs on the basis of sex. Cardona’s rewrite obliterates the text of the statute and now bans discrimination “based on sex stereotypes, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics.” This rewrite of Title IX facilitates the ongoing erasure of women from women’s academic sports, and imperils girls by forcing them to share once-private spaces, such as bathrooms and dressing rooms, with boys. Under penalty of withholding federal funding, such as is allocated for such programs as school lunches- just to cite an example. Furthermore, Reid decries both the proposed nationalization of Florida’s Parents’ Rights in Education Act, which bans children from exposure to inappropriate materials and the potential prohibition of such practices as “transition closets”, wherein students can act out their gender dysphoria in school without their parents’ knowledge.  In attempting to aid and abet the Harris campaign’s efforts to misrepresent Project 2025 as a Trump campaign product, Joy Reid may have brought its more appealing aspects into broader public view. She has also cemented opposition to these anti-grooming provisions as support for the sexualization of children.  Talk about unintended consequences.

Ghost of medieval gauntlet found on Oslo seabed

An excavation of Bispevika, a neighborhood in Oslo that was once part of the city’s harbour, has uncovered the remains of a rare medieval iron gauntlet. Archaeologists from the Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (NIKU) found the piece of armature with a metal detector, but only a fragment of metal actually survives. Most of the gauntlet disintegrated leaving a remarkably clear imprint of the iron plates (lamellae) it was composed of. An unusual quantity of arms — daggers, swords, axes — have been found since excavations at the site began in 2019. Weapons and armature like the iron gauntlet were very expensive and are unlikely to have been lost or discarded carelessly in such large numbers. One hypothesis is that customs officials confiscated weapons and tossed them in the water to destroy them. There is no documentary evidence to support the hypothesis. Many medieval documents were burned in Copenhagen in the 18th century, that includes all of Oslo’s municipal laws. If customs officials did confiscate weapons and throw them into the sea, there are no records of it. How the glove ended up in the sea remains a mystery. “I find it very difficult to imagine someone losing their gauntlet during a battle. If there had been an arm in it, it would have been much more interesting, but there wasn’t,” he says. Hegdal also does not believe they will find anything more to explain the discovery. “If there had been anything else related to the gauntlet, we would’ve already found it. It’s an archaeologist’s dream to find remains of some of the battles that took place out there in the fjord, but we haven’t. So the best explanation we have so far is simply that someone lost it. You could call that bad luck,” he says.
