House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) blasted the Biden administration over the weekend for its weakness toward Iran‚ warning that the administration was emboldening and empowering Iran’s terror throughout the Middle East. Turner made the remarks during a Sunday interview on NBC News’s “Meet The Press” while talking about Iran’s unprecedented attack on Israel Saturday night‚ which included 185 one-way suicide drones‚ 110 surface-to-surface missiles‚ and 36 cruise missiles. “Unfortunately‚ the Biden Administration’s view is that if you use missile defense‚ an attack didn’t happen‚” he said. “That’s the way they reacted to the over 100 attacks that have occurred on U.S. troops from terrorist groups and organizations in Iraq and Syria‚ resulting in three deaths of American troops in Jordan‚ all by – by Iranian-backed groups and organizations. I think the administration needs to take seriously that this attack has happened. It’s unprecedented. And certainly‚ it needs to be viewed as an escalation. This is an escalating conflict.” Welker repeatedly interrupted throughout the interview to defend the Biden administration and claimed that it carried out “more than 100” counterattacks on Iranian proxies throughout the Middle East. “That’s not necessarily true‚” Turner fired back. “So they – what the Biden Administration said is‚ if there are deaths‚ if American troops are hit‚ they’re going to respond. Over 100 attacks on American troops‚ they did not respond.” “Israel has been under attack – under attack by Iran‚ for decades‚” he said. “They fund and train Hezbollah. They fund and train Hamas‚ Hamas which undertook the October 7th attacks into Israel that were just‚ you know‚ vicious in a number of deaths in the manner in which it was executed‚ all as a result of they were trained‚ funded‚ and given weapons by Iran. So this has already been an ongoing conflict‚ where Israel understands that they have been under siege and under attack by Iran. It’s the first time‚ though‚ that they have attacked directly from Iran. And certainly‚ this is an escalation.” “It is already escalating and the administration needs to respond‚” Turner said. “Over 300 weapons were shot from Iran at Israel. This is an escalating conflict. The administration – because we were successful‚ because we invested in missile-defense technology with Israel‚ the administration is acting like‚ ‘Well‚ you know‚ done. We defended Israel against these attacks. CNN's legal analyst Elie Honig writing in a Cafe Brief newsletter that was reprinted in New York magazine on Friday presented both the pro and anti Trump ways of looking at the Alvin Bragg case that takes place on April 15 in Manhattan. It is obvious which of the two point of view that Honig thinks is most realistic in &;quot;Donald Trump’s Trial Is a Rorschach Test.&;quot; ...The crime is a paperwork offense relating to how Trump and his businesses logged a series of perfectly legal (if unseemly) hush-money payments in their own internal records. The prosecution’s star witness is a convicted perjurer and fraudster who openly spews vitriol at the defendant‚ often in grotesque terms‚ essentially for a living. The famously aggressive feds at the Southern District of New York passed on the case years ago‚ and current Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg’s predecessor could have indicted before he left office but did not. The charges are either misdemeanors or the lowest-level felonies (depending on how the jury decides the case)‚ and the vast majority of defendants convicted of similar offenses are sentenced to probation and fines‚ not prison. Having presented the POV favorable to Trump‚ Honig then presents what appears to be a rather lame way of looking at the trial from someone hostile towards Trump presenting it as a desperate payoff scheme in 2016 to keep his campaign from collapsing: ...To keep his listing campaign from capsizing‚ Trump and his team paid off porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged extramarital affair and then labeled those payments “legal expenses.” Already the first American president or former president to face indictment‚ Trump could soon become the first to sustain a felony conviction‚ and it’s possible he could lose the 2024 election — and eventually wind up behind bars — as a result. It's not hard to discern which of these viewpoints Honig thinks best reflects reality. This is also reflected in what else he wrote: ...Paying hush money is not a crime. In fact‚ a hush-money agreement‚ though seedy‚ is legally no different from any other contract between private parties. So Trump knowing about the Daniels payoff — and he clearly did — is merely a starting point here and insufficient to prove anything criminal. The charged New York State crime here is falsification of business records. The DA alleges Trump had the hush-money payments fraudulently recorded in his internal books as “legal expenses” (rather than‚ I don’t know‚ “hush money to porn star”). If proved‚ that’s merely a misdemeanor‚ a low-level crime virtually certain to result in a non-prison sentence. For comparison‚ under the New York code‚ falsification of business records has the same technical designation as shoplifting less than $1‚000 of goods. ...But it’s not entirely clear whether Trump was involved in the actual logging of those payments in the internal records of his business — remember‚ that’s the crime. In fact‚ when Cohen secretly recorded his then-client talking about a hush-money payment to another woman in 2016‚ Trump seems clueless about the accounting mechanism. ...The received wisdom is that the Manhattan case is the least important‚ and will be the least impactful‚ of the four pending Trump indictments. The first part of that proposition is beyond reasonable dispute. One has to wonder if Donald Trump is guilty of so many massive crimes as those who oppose to him allege‚ why do the cases against him such as the Manhattan case appear to be so incredibly weak and prosecuted by either corrupt or highly biased or flawed officials while being surreptitiously aided by the Biden administration&;#63; Hopefully‚ Elie Honig won't be shunned by his CNN colleagues for his observations about the Manhattan case.

A teen girl went on a date with a 33-year-old man‚ and a day later‚ her dismembered remains were scattered around in Milwaukee. The mother of the murder victim is passionately demanding justice for their slain daughter. Sade Carleena Robinson went on a date with Maxwell S. Anderson on April 1. A building secretary informed police that Robinson told her on April 1 that she was excited for a date that night.Robinson's phone records showed that she made plans to meet someone at the Twisted Fisherman restaurant in Milwaukee at 5 p.m.Restaurant staff told investigators that Robinson dined at the establishment with Anderson – a former employee at the restaurant. The pair left the restaurant and then went to Duke's on the Water bar around 6:30 p.m. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the couple went to Anderson's home after 9 p.m. After 9 p.m.‚ they went to Anderson’s home on the 3100 block of South 39th Street.Police tracked Robinson's phone to Pleasant Valley Park and then Warnimont Park after midnight until the phone died around 4:30 a.m. Robinson's Honda Civic was set on fire and discovered at 7:32 a.m. on April 2. Law enforcement determined that Anderson's clothing was inside the burnt vehicle. By utilizing video and witness accounts‚ investigators concluded that Anderson was the person who set the car on fire. He then allegedly took a bus back to his home. Around 5:30 p.m. on April 2‚ police discovered a severed human leg in Warnimont Park. At approximately 9 p.m. on April 2‚ a friend reported Robinson missing after she didn't show up for work. On April 6‚ police found a human foot that appeared to be from the same body as the severed leg.In the early morning of April 4‚ sheriff’s deputies stopped Anderson’s vehicle and arrested him.On Friday‚ Anderson was charged with first-degree intentional homicide‚ mutilation of a corpse‚ and arson. His bail was set at $5 million. Anderson‚ of Milwaukee‚ has a criminal history that includes misdemeanor convictions of disorderly conduct and domestic violence across three cases from 2014 to 2019.Preliminary test results found blood on the severed leg determined that the severed leg belonged to Robinson. At Friday's court hearing‚ Assistant District Attorney Ian Vance-Curzan revealed that a significant amount of Robinson's remains have yet to be located. He noted that the suspect appeared to go to &;quot;tremendous&;quot; lengths to cover up the &;quot;abhorrent&;quot; murder.&;quot;It's the highest level of violence imaginable‚&;quot; Vance-Curzan proclaimed.The victim's family is demanding justice for Sade Robinson‚ and hope that the killer suffers significantly.
