Longtime MSNBC Anchor To Depart Network

Andrea Mitchell will step down this week as a full-time anchor on MSNBC. Friday will be Mitchell’s last day as host of “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” ending a 17-year stint. #BREAKING: MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell has confirmed that she will be leaving the network this Friday after 17 years of reporting. pic.twitter.com/7EGbc6D0Tx — R A W S A L E R T S (@rawsalerts) February 5, 2025 According to The U.S. Sun, Mitchell is the network’s “longest-running daytime host.” Andrea Mitchell to leave MSNBC anchor chair this Friday after 17 years https://t.co/JutohMCwh7 pic.twitter.com/pp7wrvvhQN — New York Post (@nypost) February 5, 2025 The U.S. Sun reports: The Andrea Mitchell Reports host confirmed that her last day will be Friday at 12 pm. In October, Mitchell, 78, announced that she would be quitting, but didn’t give a concrete date. At the time, she said, “After sixteen years of being in the anchor chair every day, I want time to do more of what I love the most: connecting, listening, and reporting in the field.” Her departure comes in the midst of a massive network-wide shakeup, as viewers snubbed the programming after Donald Trump handily won the 2024 presidential election. In January, MSNBC President Rashida Jones announced she would be stepping down after four years, and just last week, big-hitting political reporter Chuck Todd announced his departure. Longtime talent is slipping through the cracks as the network attempts to break away from NBC News and create a spin-off with CNBC under new corporate leadership. The network has yet to announce what will replace the program. Mitchell’s career spans over five decades at NBC News, where she has covered every US presidential campaign since 1980 and has reported on major global events. NBC executives praised Mitchell’s contributions in a memo, stating: “Andrea remains one of the country’s foremost and most trusted experts on foreign policy and domestic politics.” “Her deep sourcing and ability to land the biggest-name news-making interviews are unmatched,” the network said in a statement, adding that “we are so pleased that she will remain an essential part of the News Group for years to come.” Her departure comes at a time of flux at the Peacock Network and its sister channel MSNBC. Chuck Todd, the former “Meet the Press” moderator, left NBC News last week after nearly two decades. His last day was Friday.

Vivek Ramaswamy Receives Good News In Expected Political Move

Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is expected to officially announce his bid for governor of Ohio sometime in February. In the meantime, Ramaswamy has a commanding lead in a poll among Republican primary voters. According to Axios, the biotech entrepreneur polled at over 50% and has a 30+ point lead over his nearest competitor. BREAKING: Vivek Ramaswamy is leading the Ohio Governor GOP primary by 31 points, per WPAi poll. — Leading Report (@LeadingReport) February 5, 2025 Per Axios: Ramaswamy, 39, has brought on key members of the political operation of Vice President JD Vance, formerly a U.S. senator from Ohio, to run his campaign and super PAC — Tony Fabrizio (Trump’s pollster), Andy Surabian and Jai Chabria. “Not only does this signal that Vance is on board behind the scenes with Vivek’s run, but Vivek is already winning endorsements from influential pro-Trump senators Rick Scott [R-Fla.] before even announcing,” a source familiar with the operation told Axios. The poll by Fabrizio, Lee & Associates “makes it clear that Vivek is the unquestioned favorite to not only win this primary, but to dominate it,” the source added. “Since news about his run began leaking, there’s been an avalanche of interest from donors wanting to raise money for his run, and big-name political figures offering to endorse.” Looking good for Vivek Ramaswamy in the future Ohio gubernatorial race. pic.twitter.com/iqZmM37xAF — individual1st (@individual1st) February 4, 2025 Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague has thrown his support behind Ramaswamy. “I believe @VivekGRamaswamy is the leader we need to lead Ohio forward with a bold vision of conversation reform. Should he run for Governor, he will have my full support!” Sprague said. “Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague is spot-on here. We were at the bleeding edge of the Industrial Revolution & patriots flocked to live here. Ohio can be that state again. Robert was a top contender for the upcoming Governor race & he’ll be a major player in shaping our future,” Ramaswamy commented. Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague is spot-on here. Along with Sprague, Ramaswamy has also pulled in early backing from Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.). His team has also brought on some of Vice President Vance’s top political advisers, a strong indicator that he could grab a key endorsement from Vance or President Trump. Ramaswamy, a top ally to the president, recently departed Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency commission, focused on cutting federal spending, as he readies to run for elected office.

Nancy Mace Snaps At Democrats For Trying To Censor Her Speech: ‘Tranny, Tranny, Tranny’

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) taunted Democrats during a House hearing on Wednesday after they reprimanded her for saying the word “tranny” during the hearing. Mace made the remarks during a Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing. “Um, the gentle lady has used a phrase that is considered a slur in the LGBTQ community and the transgender community,” said Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA). “Let me please finish without an interruption.” Mace interjected: “Tranny, tranny, tranny. I don’t really care. You want penises in women’s bathrooms, and I’m not going to have it. No thank you.” Connolly responded: “To me, a slur is a slur, and here in the Committee, a level of decorum requires us to try consciously to avoid slurs.” “You just heard the gentle lady actually, actively, robustly repeat it and I would just ask the chairman that she be counseled that we ought not to be engaged — we can have debate and policy discussion without offending human beings who are our fellow citizens,” he said. “And so I would ask as a parliamentary inquiry whether the use of that phrase is not, in fact, a violation of the decorum rule.” Mace said that she refused to be counseled by a man on the issue of having men in women’s spaces or men who have mental health issues dressing as women. Chairman James Comer (R-KY) dismissed Connolly’s concerns in a joking way, saying that he was “not up to date” on his “politically correct LGBTQ terminology.” WATCH:
