Red Pope: Deportations, a “Calamity,” Supporters, “Not Christians”

Pope Francis called Donald Trump’s planned mass deportations, describing them as a ‘calamity’ and ‘disgrace.’ He commented during an interview on Italian TV. It’s interesting how he cares about illegal migrants but not about the people who are robber, raped, sex trafficked, murdered. He called the deportations a “disgrace.” It’s a “calamity,” he said. “It […] The post Red Pope: Deportations, a “Calamity,” Supporters, “Not Christians” appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Elon Musks Says Now Is The Time To Make ‘Significant Changes’ To Federal Government

Elon Musk said Sunday during a victory rally for President-elect Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., that now was the time to make “significant changes” that would set the stage for centuries of American strength. Musk made the comments after he was introduced by Trump in front of thousands of supporters at the Capital One Arena in D.C. Musk was a strong backer of Trump during the 2024 campaign and has been tasked with running an initiative called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). “We’re looking forward to making a lot of changes, and this victory is the start,” Musk said. “What matters going forward is to actually make significant changes, cement those changes, and set the foundation for America to be strong for a century, for centuries, forever.” Musk was joined on stage by his 4-year-old son X, who Musk described as “a very enthusiastic supporter” of Trump. Shortly after he won the election, Trump announced that Musk would be heading up DOGE, to help cut federal government waste. “I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency,” Trump said in a statement. “Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement.” “To drive this kind of drastic change, the Department of Government Efficiency will provide advice and guidance from outside of Government, and will partner with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive large scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before,” Trump added. There have now been some reports that Ramaswamy will step away from DOGE in the coming weeks to focus on a run for Ohio governor. CELEBRATE #47 WITH 47% OFF DAILYWIRE+ MEMBERSHIPS + A FREE $20 GIFT With DOGE, Musk hopes to cut the annual federal budget by $2 trillion and to slash regulations to free the American economy from onerous or duplicitous rules. Other speakers at the D.C. Trump rally included Dana White, Stephen Miller, and actor Jon Voight. Trump will take the presidential oath again and be sworn into office around noon on Monday. Officials have moved the inauguration ceremony into the Capitol building because of frigid weather expected on the day of the event. The traditional parade for the inauguration has been canceled, though officials are reportedly considering having Trump take his first actions as president, signing a slate of executive orders, from a stage set up in Capital One arena.

WATCH: Trump Dances On Stage As Village People Perform ‘YMCA’

President-elect Donald Trump performed the “Trump Dance” on stage at his pre-inauguration rally in Washington, D.C., on Sunday as Village People performed their hit song, “YMCA.” The viral moment happened at the end of his more than two hour rally that included performances from numerous conservative figures ranging from actor Jon Voight to UFC CEO Dana White to Trump adviser Stephen Miller. WATCH: Elon Musk, who is leading Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), also attended the rally and spoke during Trump’s speech. Musk said that what matters is that the administration “make significant changes, cement those changes, and set the foundation for America to be strong a century, for centuries, forever.” Trump touched on a wide range of issues ahead of his return to the White House on Monday, including his day one agenda, which he said will feature a flurry of executive orders aimed at everything from securing the border to getting wokeness out of the U.S. military. The president-elect addressed the devastating wildfires in California at the rally, saying that he would soon travel to the state to survey the damage. “We’re paying for you all. We love you all. We’re going to be there very soon. I’m going out there on Friday to see it and to get it moving back,” Trump said. “We’re going to get some of the best builders in the world.” He said that he was committed to restoring trust in the U.S. government after four years of abuse from President Joe Biden. One of the ways that he proposed to do that was to make a massive push to “reverse the over-classification of government documents.” “And in the coming days, we are going to make public remaining records relating to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” Trump said. He added that he was going to gut DEI mandates and would make a decision regarding the January 6 defendants that he said would make his supporters very happy.

A Triumphant Trump Celebrates Victory in Washington

Donald Trump delivered his last rally before the second term of his presidency at Capital One Arena Sunday, promising a historic first 100 days to a crowd of 20,000 supporters who braved snow, sleet and rain to see him in Washington, D.C. With a Kid Rock concert to kick it off, and a Village People performance to conclude it, the rally was a party to remember.  Supporters came from across the country to attend the rally, waiting on the barricaded sidewalks, suffering harsh winter weather starting early in the morning. “It is such a blessing to me, just something that wasn’t even on my radar,” said Lori Mendoza, an attendee from Chicago who had been treated to an inauguration trip by her friend. “I’m grateful. I’m going to stand out here as long as we need to, but I’m told that we may not even make it in there.” DC right now outside Trump’s Victory Rally:@DailySignal pic.twitter.com/GDTEWRBova— George Caldwell (@GCaldwell_news) January 19, 2025 One attendee from Fort Worth, Texas told The Daily Signal, “It’s cold, wet, miserable, windy. I mean, we’re just kind of embracing the suck out here, trying to show our support for our future president … We’ve been out here since about 7:30 this morning.” When Trump took the podium, he treated his supporters to one last speech full of campaign rhetoric and pride in victory. “Our incoming administration has achieved all of this in three months without being president,” said Trump in celebration of the ceasefire deal reached in the Israel-Hamas war.  “We’ve achieved more without being president than they’ve achieved in four years with being president.” Visibly emotional, Trump also meditated on the historical meaning of his victory. “And someday 30 years from now, 40 years from now, 50 years from now, some of these young people are going to say ‘I remember Donald Trump, he did a good job. He sent us on his way, he sent us, he gave us a path.’” In his celebration, the president-elect vowed an aggressive push to fulfill his campaign promises in the first days of the administration. “The American people have given us their trust, and in return we’re going to give them the best first day, the biggest first week and the most extraordinary first 100 days of any presidency in American history,” said Trump. “You’re going to see something tomorrow. You’re going to see executive orders that are going to make you extremely happy. Lots of them, lots of them,” he told the crowd, adding, “By the time the sun sets tomorrow evening, the invasion of our borders will have come to a halt and all the illegal border trespassers will, in some form or another, be on their way back home.” Scenes from before Trump’s Victory Rally.Thousands waiting for hours in the snow, sleet and rain, a line stretching across about a mile of the city. pic.twitter.com/rTEnr5x2WA— George Caldwell (@GCaldwell_news) January 19, 2025 Throughout the speech, Trump embraced both the humor and the willingness to forge alliances with other popular personalities that characterized his 2024 reelection campaign.  The president-elect invited billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk onto the stage to a thunderous applause from the arena.  When Musk had finished speaking, Trump quipped, “His son’s name is X! He’s the only guy who can get away with the name X.” "YMCA": Donald Trump and the Village People dance to the iconic song. pic.twitter.com/pbj62FmuRU— NEWSMAX (@NEWSMAX) January 19, 2025 To conclude the victory rally, Trump invited The Village People on stage to perform “YMCA,” his signature song. The president-elect indulged the crowd with his signature dance moves, which have become viral in recent months. Sunday’s concert marked the end of an era, as Trump reflected on three hard-fought campaigns and promised to fulfill the promises he made when he first came down the escalator at Trump Tower  in 2015.  Elise McCue contributed to this report.
