Our 10 Favorite Rock Singers With The Widest Vocal Ranges

Our 10 Favorite Rock Singers With The Widest Vocal Ranges presents a list of rock singers who could hit those super high notes with full resonance while sounding wonderful on the low end.  It’s not a list of the best rock singers of all time, as there are so many with killer voices, but their ranges were limited simply because of their biology. There are so many factors that define a great singer as an artist. Soul, style, originality, and more are all determining factors that fans love. Some people love the voice of Tom Waits, and others cringe. What The post Our 10 Favorite Rock Singers With The Widest Vocal Ranges appeared first on ClassicRockHistory.com.

Boos and Hisses From Intolerant Left for NFL Kicker’s Traditional Values

NFL Kansas City Chiefs placekicker Harrison Butker on May 11 gave the commencement address at Benedictine College, a Catholic school in Kansas. Within 48 hours, the media elites were ablaze with outrage. There’s a “growing uproar,” warned NBC’s Hoda Kotb. A Catholic speaker talked about Catholic issues to Catholic graduates. But the Butker critics who aren’t Catholics pulled out little snippets they could not abide. First, they hated that Butker paid tribute to his wife, Isabelle, for making him successful, for assuming “one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.” That is like a curse word to the feminists. They can’t allow the notion that children might benefit from having a parent in the home. He said to the female graduates that “some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.” He didn’t say they shouldn’t have careers. He did suggest that many women—especially Catholic women—put motherhood first. Butker also inflamed the Left with a brief allusion to “the deadly-sin sort of ‘pride’ that has an entire month dedicated to it.” None of us should have pride in our sins, but the libertine Left is allergic to the entire concept of sorrow for sin. Personally, this was my favorite political passage: “Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.” Lapsed Catholics and non-Catholics have no grasp of how the Catholic Church defines “scandal.” Catholics like President Joe Biden, who aggressively support the exact opposite of church teachings, confuse both religious and nonreligious people about what Catholics are called to believe—like abortion is by its nature a deadly sin. But simplistic reporters don’t want anyone calling Biden a phony, any more than they want you to proclaim he’s a divider, not a uniter. Jonathan Beane, the chief “diversity” officer of the NFL, put out a statement that “Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity. His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.” The Kansas City Chiefs’ Harrison Butker kicks the ball during Super Bowl LVIII between the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11. (Photo: Patrick Fallon/AFP/Getty Images) It never stops being comical to tout “inclusion” when you’re telling a conservative Catholic to shut up about “Pride Month.” One can never dissent from the “diversity and inclusion” cops, who blatantly imply only the leftist side of the cultural debate defines their most precious words. Bobby Burack at OutKick pointed out that the NFL had no public statement of objection for Butker’s Kansas City teammate Rashee Rice, who was recently arrested on eight felony charges concerning a hit-and-run accident “while drag-racing his Lamborghini at 119 mph on a Dallas highway.” Reckless Rice is also under investigation for allegedly punching a photographer at a nightclub in Dallas, “leaving the accuser with noticeable swelling in his face.” The NFL has no comment. Butker’s speech predictably prompted a Change.org petition calling for him to be fired by the Chiefs. Once again, it’s the Left that claims conservatives will “end democracy” and crush freedom of speech, while they demonstrate their absolute intolerance of an opposing point of view. They can’t achieve true “progress” until dissenters are heckled and banned. COPYRIGHT 2024 CREATORS.COM The Daily Signal publishes a variety of perspectives. DOJ’s Kristen Clarke Celebrates Prison Time for Pro-Life Activists

The Justice Department’s Kristen Clarke issued a statement this week celebrating news that seven pro-life activists would spend time in prison for attempting to stop abortions from taking place. Clarke, who heads the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division and is responsible for enforcing the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, painted the pro-life activists as violent radicals in her remarks: “Violence has no place in our national discourse on reproductive health.” The activists’ actions were nonviolent, and the DOJ’s release on the matter even notes that they “passively” resisted “their anticipated arrests.” “Using force, threatening to use force or physically obstructing access to reproductive health care is unlawful,” she added, before referring to the 1993 murder of a Florida abortionist. “As we mark the 30th anniversary of the FACE Act, it’s important that we not lose sight of the history of violence against reproductive health care providers, including the murder of Dr. David Gunn in Florida—tragic and horrific events that led to passage of the law.” The FACE Act is a 1994 law that supposedly protects both abortion clinics and pregnancy resource centers, but has been heavily enforced by President Joe Biden’s DOJ against pro-lifers since the June 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade. “The Justice Department will continue to protect both patients seeking reproductive health services and providers of those services,” the DOJ official concluded. “We will hold accountable those who seek to interfere with access to reproductive health services in our country.”    U.S. Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke attends an event honoring the anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision at the Justice Department on May 14, 2024, in Washington, D.C. (Photo: Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images) Lauren Handy is the pro-life activist who received the longest sentence. She will spend 57 months in prison and was the first person sentenced for violating the FACE Act. The enforcement of the FACE Act is led by Clarke, who, following a report from The Daily Signal, recently admitted that she hid an arrest and its subsequent expungement from investigators when she was confirmed to her Justice Department post. The president’s critics have accused Biden and the DOJ of weaponizing the FACE Act against pro-lifers while failing to charge pro-abortion criminals for the hundreds of attacks on pregnancy resource centers since the May 2022 leak of the draft Supreme Court opinion indicating Roe would soon be overturned. Some, among them Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, have called for the repeal of the FACE Act, arguing that it serves no purpose but to target pro-life activists. “The Biden administration is using the FACE Act to give pro-life activists and senior citizens lengthy prison terms for nonviolent offenses and protests—all while turning a blind eye to the violence, arson, and riots conducted on behalf of ‘approved’ leftist causes,” Lee told The Daily Signal in a Tuesday statement. “Unequal enforcement of the law is a violation of the law,” he added, “and men and women who try to expose the horrors of abortion are being unjustly persecuted for their motivations.” The DOJ’s release on the seven pro-lifers who were sentenced to prison time this week describes how the pro-life activists, motivated by a desire to protect unborn babies from abortion, planned a “blockade” at Washington Surgi-Clinic in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The pro-life activists describe this type of activity as a “rescue,” hoping to stop mothers from aborting their unborn. Under the FACE Act, such activity is considered a crime. The FACE Act prohibits use of force, obstruction, or property damage intended to interfere with “reproductive health care services.” Since 2022, the year the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the Justice Department has hit at least 40 pro-life activists with FACE-related charges at five different rescues or blockades. The DOJ describes the D.C. event as a “clinic incursion,” noting that “the defendants met with other co-conspirators to plan their crime, which included making a fake patient appointment to ensure the group’s entry into the clinic, using chains and locks to barricade the facility and passively resisting their anticipated arrests to prolong the blockade.” “The clinic invasion was advertised on social media as a ‘historic’ event that was live-streamed on Facebook,” the DOJ said “The defendants’ forced entry into the clinic at the outset of the invasion resulted in injury to a clinic nurse. During the blockade, one patient had to climb through a receptionist window to access the clinic, while another laid in the hallway outside of the clinic in physical distress, unable to gain access to the clinic.” The case was investigated by the FBI’s Washington Field Office. Assistant Director in Charge David Sundberg pointed to the matter as evidence that “the FBI and our judicial system will not tolerate the obstruction of civil rights.” “The FBI will continue to investigate FACE Act violations in all jurisdictions, so patients and providers can exercise their right to receive or provide lawful reproductive health care without the threat of violence or intimidation,” he added. Trump’s Attorney Makes Swiss Cheese Out of Michael Cohen’s Testimony, Raising Questions of Perjury

Former President Donald Trump’s defense attorney rebutted Michael Cohen’s testimony during a brutal cross-examination Thursday, which has legal commentators raising the possibility Cohen again committed perjury. Defense attorney Todd Blanche confronted Cohen on his past lies under oath, including to Congress and a federal judge, asking him whether he took the same oath before testifying then as he did to testify in this trial: a pointed question aimed to raise doubts about his current claims. Cohen’s prospects took a turn for the worse in the final few minutes before lunch break, when Blanche point-blank accused Cohen of lying when he testified Tuesday that he had called Trump’s bodyguard, Keith Schiller, on Oct. 24, 2016, to discuss the matter of paying porn star Stormy Daniels. “That was a lie,” Blanche nearly shouted at Cohen. “You did not talk to President Trump on that night,” Blanche said. “You talked to Keith Schiller.” Blanche pointed to text messages Cohen sent minutes before the call asking how he should handle a 14-year-old’s harassing phone calls to him, to which Schiller responded “call me.” Cohen said he believed he also spoke to Trump. Blanche pushed back, asking how that was possible on a call that only lasted a minute and 36 seconds. George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley noted the portion of Cohen’s testimony was a possible point of perjury. Blanche: You did not talk to President Trump on that night. You talked to Keith Schiller.Cohen: I’m not certain that’s accurate.Blanche: Now you’re saying you’re not certain it was accurate?Cohen: I believe that I also spoke to Mr. Trump.— Katelynn Richardson (@katesrichardson) May 16, 2024 Blanche pressed Cohen on a number of inconsistencies, large and small, in his testimony and prior statements. Cohen stated while thanking Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on his podcast in 2023 that he spent “countless hours” with him laying out Trump’s crimes, though he admitted to Blanche that he has never met Bragg. The jury heard a portion of the podcast, where Cohen also said that “picturing Donald Trump being led through the booking process, getting fingerprinted, having his mugshot taken” fills him with “delight.” This week, Cohen testified he’s never met with Bragg.Today, Trump’s attorneys played this audio in the courtroom, where Cohen thanks “Alvin Bragg, with whom I spent countless hours laying out how Trump directed those hush money payments and countless other financial crimes.” pic.twitter.com/OqOzZ6t2Ag— Vince Coglianese (@VinceCoglianese) May 16, 2024 Blanche pressed Cohen on his desire to work in the White House, which Cohen denied he wanted, stating he only wanted to be considered for the position “for ego purposes.” He highlighted text conversations with his daughter and others where he complained about being overlooked, asking if he was embarrassed he was left being “nothing more” than Trump’s personal attorney after all the work he did for Trump. “That’s the role that I wanted,” Cohen said. Keith Davidson, the former attorney for Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, testified earlier in the trial that he thought Cohen would “kill himself” after he received a call from him airing frustration about not having a spot in the Trump administration. “‘Jesus Christ, can you f—ing believe I’m not going to Washington, after everything I have done for that f—ing guy, I can’t believe I’m not going to Washington,’” Davidson recalled Cohen saying. Cohen testified Thursday that he did not recall telling Davidson that he wanted to be the attorney general. In the afternoon, Blanche walked chronologically through the testimony Cohen gave on Monday, exposing inconsistencies with each point. A major point of contention was a June 16, 2016, phone call with Trump Cohen testified about. Cohen told Blanche he had “no specific recollection” of the call but said later that documents he had looked at “jogged” his memory. Blanche questioned how Cohen could possibly remember the contents of specific calls from 2016, given he was, as Cohen agreed, receiving around 14,000 a year. Cohen said the phone calls he testified about were things he has been talking about for six years, noting they were “extremely important” and “all-consuming.” Though he did not remember exact times, he said he remembered their content. Blanche asked Cohen how often he recorded conversations, including with reporters, and whether he told them about it. He pressed Cohen about whether he remembered “on several occasions” being asked if he was recording and saying no on the recording. “I don’t remember that specifically,” Cohen said. “It’s not illegal in New York.” Blanche also pointed out it is unethical for a lawyer to record his client, referencing a recording Cohen made of Trump related to the purchase of former Playboy model McDougal’s story of an alleged affair. “Just so I understand, you surreptitiously recorded your client so you could play privileged recorded communication … with a third party?” Blanche asked. “That’s correct,” Cohen said. Blanche finally turns to the $130,000 Stormy Daniels payment.Blanche: When you met with the DA, do you remember saying that you believed that Mr. Davidson, on behalf of Ms. Daniels, was engaging in extortion?Cohen: Yes, I recall making a statement like that.— Katelynn Richardson (@katesrichardson) May 16, 2024 Blanche concluded Thursday with questions about a statement Cohen issued in 2018 following a Federal Election Commission complaint about the Daniels payment, in which Cohen said he used his personal funds for the payment and that neither the “Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign” were party to the transaction. He told the judge he anticipates finishing his cross-examination with Cohen by the morning break on Monday. Judge Juan Merchan told attorneys to be prepared for closing arguments on Tuesday.
