Engoron Monitor Charges Trump’s Organization Millions of Dollars

The media isn’t bothering to report‚ at least not accurately‚ Trump’s concerns about his court-appointed monitor during the civil trial in New York City‚ which claims he committed fraud in acquiring loans. Retired federal judge Barbara Jones charges him millions of dollars‚ only to conclude there was no fraud. President Trump’s attorney today blasted the […] The post Engoron Monitor Charges Trump’s Organization Millions of Dollars appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Issa Rae Complains People Don’t Care About ‘Black’ Stories After Several Of Her Shows Are Canceled

Writer‚ producer‚ and actress Issa Rae made some complaints about her projects getting canceled.  “You’re seeing so many black shows get canceled‚ you’re seeing so many executives — especially on the DEI side — get canned. You’re seeing very clearly now that our stories are less of a priority‚” the 39-year-old reportedly said during a cover interview with Porter. “It’s made me take more steps to try to be independent down the line if I have to‚” she added of any potential new projects. Max canceled her comedy “Rap Sh!t” after two seasons earlier this year‚ per The Hollywood Reporter. “A Black Lady Sketch Show‚” another of Rae’s efforts‚ was axed last summer. The TV series creator mentioned the comedy-drama film “American Fiction‚” which follows a black writer named Thelonious “Monk” Ellison who writes a satirical memoir that winds up becoming a best-seller. He copies the work of a bestselling author who wrote “We’s Lives in Da Ghetto‚” seemingly to pander to white audiences and play up black stereotypes.  “When [the HBO series] ‘Insecure’ came out‚ I was very clear: ‘This is not a story about all black women. This is a very specific story‚’” Rae told the outlet. “I’ve been [‘American Fiction’ character] Monk‚ and I remember in the ‘Awkward Black Girl’ days — and even prior to that — feeling so enraged about what wasn’t being made‚ and being mad at who was in the spotlight at the time because I was like‚ ‘I know we’re so much more than what’s being presented here.’ I recognize that hunger‚ of just wanting your work to be seen and attacking the wrong targets.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “I agree with [Sintara’s] point that [Monk’s] ire should be directed towards the white audiences that put very specific work about black people on this pedestal‚ as opposed to more diverse representations of blackness‚” she said. “I don’t think it’s a secret that many white audiences and critics tend to reward traumatizing depictions‚ or their own biased perceptions of what blackness is‚” Rae added. Rae also said she’s working on some other projects. “I’m writing a couple of different projects — one for myself and one to produce and create with others — and I’ve been feeling so inspired and excited to get back at it‚” the actress said. “The industry is in flux‚ so it’s really inspired me to focus and hone in on what stories I want to tell. I’ve been laser-focused on getting these projects up and running.”

Second Escaped Arkansas Inmate Captured

The second inmate who escaped last week from an Arkansas county jail has been captured‚ authorities said on Monday. Jatonia Bryant‚ 23‚ was walking in Pine Bluff‚ Arkansas‚ on Monday when nearby officers conducting surveillance saw him. Captain Yohance Brunson of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) identified Bryant by his clothing‚ the sheriff’s office said in a press release. Bryant walked near Brunson’s vehicle‚ and the captain called for additional personnel who assisted in taking Bryant into custody “without incident.” Last Thursday‚ the other inmate who escaped‚ 22-year-old Noah Roush‚ was apprehended after the Metropolitan Emergency Association (MECA) received a 911 call from someone who said a person fitting Roush’s description was inside an abandoned home in Pine Bluff‚ Arkansas‚ the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. At that time‚ Brunson arrived to find Roush‚ who attempted to flee. Brunson chased Roush and was able to apprehend him with the help of Captain Brad Vilches and Officer Aaron Torres of the Southeast Arkansas College Department of Public Safety (SEARKDPS). “We appreciate the brave citizen who made the decision to get involved and call MECA as well as the outstanding efforts of our own Captain Brunson‚ as well as SEARKDPS Captain Brad Vilches and Officer Torres‚” the JCSO said in the press release. “Over the last three days numerous hours were worked by our own Deputies as well as the Pine Bluff Police Department Vice and Narcotics‚ Arkansas State Police‚ and Arkansas Department of Correction. We appreciate all of their time and effort they have put in to make this happen.” Roush and Bryant were discovered missing Monday night‚ around 10:30 p.m. local time‚ the JCSO said in an earlier press release. Bryant was being held on probable cause of capital murder‚ while Roush was being held on probable cause for residential burglary and theft of property. He is also the suspect in a homicide. The sheriff’s office said on Monday that an internal investigation of the escape revealed that jail personnel had not conducted an accurate head count‚ leading to Roush and Bryant escaping 36 hours before they were discovered missing. “While both Noah Roush and Jatonia Bryant have been returned to the detention center our investigation does not end. Our Investigators will continue to work bringing criminal charges against all the people who assisted Roush and Bryant in evading apprehension‚” the JCSO said. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP The sheriff’s office also said that “the actions of our jailers” would not be excused and that an investigation continues into the escape. “We are committed to transparency and accountability throughout this process‚ recognizing that the trust of our community hinges on our ability to effectively safeguard our community and those under our care. As Sheriff‚ I assure you that every resource will be mobilized‚ every protocol reviewed‚ and every effort exerted to prevent such incidents from occurring again‚” Sheriff Lafayette Woods‚ Jr. said in the press release. “Let there be no doubt: the safety of our community and the integrity of our detention center are non-negotiable priorities‚ and we will spare no effort in upholding them.”

Terrorist Caught At Border Released Into Country‚ Not Caught For Nearly A Year: Report

In March 2023‚ according to an internal federal memo‚ federal authorities caught a terrorist illegally crossing the southern border‚ then shortly thereafter released him into the country‚ where he stayed before he was arrested recently in Minnesota. The terrorist‚ who was determined in mid-January 2024 to be a “confirmed member of al-Shabaab” by the Terrorist Screening Center‚ was initially considered a “mismatch” after his name was examined through the terror watchlist‚ The Daily Caller reported. On January 20‚ he was caught in Minneapolis‚ Minnesota. “People have been released prior to completed records checks being returned on a subject‚” an ICE official admitted. “Which would not allow proper processing and placement of a potential terrorist once those results were known.” Al-Shabaab was named a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department in March 2008. The group pledged loyalty to al-Qaeda in 2012. According to the Counter-Terrorism Guide for the Director of National Intelligence‚ “Since 2014 al-Shabaab has killed more US citizens than any other al Qa’ida affiliate‚ and as of 2022‚ was its wealthiest component.” “Many within the Biden administration‚ including [Homeland] Secretary Mayorkas‚ have repeatedly assured us that the vetting process at the border is comprehensive and complete‚” retired ICE field director John Fabbricatore told The Daily Caller. “However‚ we continue to witness alarming instances where terrorists are able to freely roam the United States for months after being released at the border before their criminal and terrorist histories come to light … his situation is greatly endangering our nation‚ and it is clear that our safety is dependent on enforcing our immigration laws and securing the border.” “The overburdening of the Border Patrol with the excessive amounts of illegal border crossers has forced faster processing times‚ which doesn’t allow for a more vigorous initial investigation into a [migrant’s] background‚” he continued. “The background checks currently being run only initially search out criminal history in the United States‚ not outside its borders. It could take days‚ weeks‚ or months to connect derogatory information coming from other databases.”

Cher Denied Petition For Conservatorship Over Her Adult Son

Recording artist Cher’s temporary emergency conservatorship request for her 47-year-old son‚ Elijah Blue Allman‚ has been denied by the court. The judge turned down Cher’s proposal saying that Allman “has managed his finances” and “has an apartment‚” plus “ has remained drug free” after submitting “several drug tests‚” per People. Allman was in court with his legal team and his estranged wife Marieangela King‚ while Cher appeared remotely. Her legal counsel was there in person. Cher’s lawyers argued that Allman should have a conservatorship because of his schizoaffective disorder‚ which led to him being placed in several 5150 holds‚ the term for getting someone with a mental illness to be involuntarily detained for a 72-hour psychiatric hospitalization‚ in the last year. “I don’t question Cher’s concerns being driven by concern for her son. I don’t think [Allman] questions that‚” the judge said‚ ultimately determining that the reasons presented were based on “fears” but not on definite outcomes. “That in and of itself is not basis for the court to appoint a probate conservatorship. I have not seen the evidence to grant a temporary‚ emergency conservatorship as of today‚” the judge said in the ruling. Cher had previously petitioned to become the sole conservator of her son’s estate in December‚ claiming that he is “substantially unable to manage his financial resources‚” as The Daily Wire previously reported. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP The 77-year-old international pop star said her petition was “urgently needed … to protect Elijah’s property from loss or injury” because he is “currently unable to manage his assets due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.” Cher’s petition also mentioned Allman’s estranged wife‚ saying she should not be considered to fill the role of conservator. The document noted that “their tumultuous relationship has been marked by a cycle of drug addiction and mental health crises.” Allman filed an objection to his mother’s petition claiming “no reason exists for the appointment of a conservator” because “there is simply no emergency that requires it.” While he admitted that he “struggled with addiction and spent money in ways that have not always been the most responsible” in the past‚ he reported being on “a path to sobriety” and “under the care” of a doctor.
