Solar Eclipses ‘On Demand’ Mark New Era for Scientists Studying the Physics of Our Sun

Using a pair of satellites, the European Space Agency is set to be able to create artificial solar eclipses on-demand to study one of the most important features of our Sun. Lost in the sheer brightness of the star, the corona, or crown of the Sun, is hotter and larger than the Sun itself. GENDER INDOCTRINATION: 16 States That Force Transgender Lessons on Kids

It’s easy to grow desensitized to the threat of gender ideology in schools. It seems every day there is a fresh new outrage about kindergarteners getting indoctrinated into “trans joy” and school clinics offering transgender “medicine” for minors. President-elect Donald Trump’s historic reelection victory represented a loud rebuke to the transgender movement—after all, one of his most effective ads slammed Vice President Kamala Harris, Democrats’ presidential nominee, as being “for they/them,” while Trump is “for you.” But this noxious ideology still has a stranglehold in many institutions, backed up in some cases by official state policy. In fact, no fewer than 16 U.S. states have curriculum standards that force teachers’ hands on the issue, according to an important new report from The Heritage Foundation. The report, “Gender Ideology as State Education Policy,” highlights the state-level education standards and frameworks of 16 states that encourage gender ideology, which the report defines as “the subordination or displacement of factual, ideologically neutral lessons about biological sex with tell-tale notions such as ‘gender identity,’ ‘sex assigned at birth,’ and ‘cisgender.’” This ideology rejects biology and tradition, promoting vague notions of identity that often rely on rigid sex stereotypes that feminists have rejected for decades. Jay Richards, director of Heritage’s DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family, and Daniel Buck, senior visiting fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, analyzed the state-level education frameworks of all 50 states. Richards and Buck asked whether the frameworks “encourage a distinction between sex or sex organs, and gender, the latter of which is undefined or treated as a social construct?” The analysts also asked whether the policies promote the notion that sex is merely “assigned at birth” and whether they use terms such as “cisgender,” “transgender,” and “nonbinary.” These tell-tale signs reveal the promotion of gender ideology, which not only contradicts basic biology and tradition but also poses a real danger to impressionable children. By telling little boys that they may really be girls, schools prime them for experimental medical interventions that leave kids stunted, scarred, and infertile. The fact that medical societies endorse these interventions—despite the lack of evidence that they improve children’s lives and in the face of evidence that they carry severe side effects such as the risk of cancer in teens—is a scandal of epic proportions. Even simply teaching children that “gender identity” may be different from biological sex carries the risk of setting kids on a destructive path. These lessons are rightly controversial, and parents should be able to remove their children from any such indoctrination. Below is a list of states and the specific state policy requiring each to teach gender ideology. Obama ally pushes Raskin plan for Congress to nullify election, install Harris: 'Insurrectiony'

Despite spending years complaining about threats to democracy, Democrats are scheming to thwart the collective will of the 77.2 million Americans who voted for President-elect Donald Trump in a fair and free election. In a Dec. 26 op-ed for The Hill titled "Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now," David Schulte, a Chicago investment banker friend of both Barack Obama and failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, joined the former Democratic president of the New York City Bar Association, Evan Davis, in echoing Rep. Jamie Raskin's (D-Md.) February call for Congress to block Trump from taking office. The Democratic duo accused Trump at the outset of being an "oath-breaking insurrectionist" — not against the government but against the Constitution — then tried standing up this allegation on the unsuccessful attempt by Democratic lawmakers to convict Trump in early 2021 for supposed incitement of insurrection; on the say-so of the Democratic appointees on the Colorado Supreme Court; and on Democratic Jan. 6 committee members' partisan rhetoric. Apparently convinced that their appeals to the perceived wisdom of fellow Trump-haters was sufficient to justify their scheme, the duo argued that it was still possible to void the Electoral College votes of the American people when sent to the president of the Senate — failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris — and to give the Washington establishment the unearned win they so desperately crave. According to Schulte and Davis, the U.S. Supreme Court's 9-0 decision in Trump v. Anderson concerning Democrats' attempt to keep Trump off the ballot in Colorado does not prevent Congress from rejecting electoral votes on Jan. 6 on the basis of a supposed 14th Amendment disqualification. 'Watching Trump's most fanatical opponents argue that they have the right on January 6 to reject his Electoral College victory is one of the funniest things ever.' Schulte and Davis accused the conservative majority on the high court of "overreach" when indicating that "there must be new implementing federal legislation passed pursuant to the enforcement power specified in the 14th Amendment" and claimed that the Supreme Court does not have a say about the counting of Electoral College votes "because the rejection of the vote on constitutionally specified grounds is a nonreviewable political question." The Democratic duo then identified the way by which the 2024 election could be stolen and Harris installed as president. The Electoral Count Reform Act of 2022, a rewrite the Electoral Count Act of 1887, identifies two grounds for a congressional objection to an Electoral College vote. The first objection calls into question whether the votes by electors were "regularly given" and whether the recipient was an eligible presidential candidate under the Constitution. The other basis on which Congress could object is if the document submitted by a state governor identifying the electors was defective. Schulte and Davis figure the way to go would be with the first objection. "To make an objection under the Count Act requires a petition signed by 20 percent of the members of each House," wrote the Democratic duo. "If the objection is sustained by majority vote in each house, the vote is not counted and the number of votes required to be elected is reduced by the number of disqualified votes. If all votes for Trump were not counted, Kamala Harris would be elected president." While Democrats may have the numbers in both the House and the Senate to make their objection known, numerically, this strategy is little more than the wishful thinking of anti-democratic radicals. Rep. Raskin contemplated going this route during a Feb. 17 panel discussion at a D.C. book store. Raskin correctly and begrudgingly predicted at the time that the U.S. Supreme Court would rule that Trump could not be disqualified from Colorado's presidential primary ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, calling the imminent decision an "abdication of [the court's] very clear duty to disqualify Donald Trump." Raskin said on camera, "[The justices on the Supreme Court] want to kick it to Congress, so it's going to be up to us on Jan. 6, 2025, to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he's disqualified." While apparently open to the idea, the Democratic congressman noted that the repeal of the people's will at the counting of the Electoral College votes "really could lead to something akin to civil war." Raskin indicated further that after lawmakers disqualify the would-be president-elect, "We need bodyguards for everybody in civil war conditions all because the nine justices — not all of them but these justices who have not many cases to look at every year, not that much work to do, a huge staff, great protection — simply do not want to do their job and interpret what the great 14th Amendment means." Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer responded Thursday to Schulte and Davis' op-ed, writing, "Surprised it took so long but the Left is back at trying to subvert the election." "You people are sick," tweeted Eric Trump. BlazeTV host Steve Deace wrote, "This ... feels very insurrectiony." "Oh, look. Democrats want to steal the election and invalidate the will of the American people," wrote Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Trump. "Threat to Democracy." "Hey look insurrection," tweeted BlazeTV's Auron MacIntyre. "If people just standing outside the capitol can go to jail for years then journalists absolutely can." Journalist Glenn Greenwald noted, "Watching Trump's most fanatical opponents argue that they have the right on January 6 to reject his Electoral College victory is one of the funniest things ever. I hope it spreads." Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Trump to restart family detention, worksite raids as part of mass deportation strategy: Homan

President-elect Donald Trump's incoming border czar, Tom Homan, revealed additional details about the administration's mass deportation strategy. In an interview with the Washington Post published Thursday, Homan stated that the administration plans to reintroduce family detention and worksite raids.'We can't lose the faith of the American people.'The Biden administration ended family detainment in 2021, either repurposing or shutting down the few Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities designed to provide dorm-like accommodations to illegal aliens with children.Additionally, a federal judge ruled that minors can remain in family detention facilities for up to 20 days only. That limit, coupled with the slow deportation process, has impeded ICE's ability to remove families with children.Under the Biden administration, the agency has prioritized deporting illegal aliens who are more easily removable. Homan told the Post that he believes Trump will be able to speed up the deportation process and noted a need for the administration to construct family detention centers."How many beds we're going to need will depend on what the data says," Homan stated."Here's the issue," he said. "You knew you were in the country illegally and chose to have a child. So you put your family in that position."Homan explained that families will have the option to be deported together or split up, allowing those legally in the U.S. to remain while other family members leave."We need to show the American people we can do this and not be inhumane about it," he told the Post. "We can't lose the faith of the American people."Homan reiterated that the mass deportation plan would be a "targeted" campaign aimed at illegal aliens who have committed additional crimes in the U.S."I don't see this thing as being sweeps and the military going through neighborhoods," he added.Homan also noted that the administration plans to bring back worksite raids, a practice that President Joe Biden ended."We haven't really worked out the plan for worksite enforcement," he stated. "We know that employers are going to be upset."Homan vowed to launch a separate mission to locate the missing children who were placed with minimally vetted sponsors in the U.S."I think some of these children will be in forced labor, and some will be in the sex trade," Homan told the Post. "I think some will be perfectly fine. We just want to make sure."He explained that parents who illegally entered the U.S. and then sent for their children to join them should be placed in deportation proceedings."I'm not saying take them into custody," he remarked. "We'll let them get the child and put them in proceedings with the child, so they can go to court and plead their case as a family."Like Blaze News? NBA, NFL return to traditional 'merry Christmas' messages as American culture is finally being embraced again

NBA, NFL return to traditional 'merry Christmas' messages as American culture is finally being embraced again

Netflix and Disney's ESPN saw a return to normalcy with simple Christmas messages, as the two sports brands battled for viewer supremacy on the holiday. While the idea of a war on Christmas has been seen as something of a meme in recent years, bans on Christmas trees and "Christmas-themed items" still happen on occasion. If football and basketball fans are tired of hearing "happy Holidays" instead of "merry Christmas," both the NBA and NFL seemed keen to focus on "merry Christmas" this year in order to garner fuzzy feelings instead of viewer outrage. The NFL's first broadcast on Netflix came with focus on Christmas, particularly the message of "merry Christmas."Stars like Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson even ran around like a lunatic with a Santa coat on, while Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce sported theirs in the locker room.Chiefs coach Andy Reid then appeared as Santa Claus himself to wish all his players a "merry Christmas."All of this was presented officially by the NFL. Yes, the league wants ratings — and it worked. For the Chiefs' game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, Netflix saw its second-most popular live broadcast, with viewers from over 200 different countries.According to the Mirror, the platform had its highest concurrent viewership on Christmas Day in four years, with one-third of those viewers tuning in to the football game. Arrowhead Stadium, Christmas Day 2023Photo by Kirby Lee/Getty Images'I love the NFL. But Christmas is our day.'The NBA was clearly looking to compete, and since basketball historically is the go-to sport for Christmas Day in the United States, the league pulled out all the stops. Although the viewership numbers aren't yet known, the NBA had high hopes by pitting LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. After a thrilling two-point victory, James made it clear that the NBA was in it to win."I love the NFL. I love the NFL. But Christmas is our day," James told an ESPN reporter, reciprocating a "merry Christmas" of his own.Lakers guard Austin Reaves, who scored a historic triple-double, had his own "merry Christmas" message pushed out on official NBA channels after the game.Disney-owned ESPN took advantage of childhood memories during its broadcast as well, invoking Mickey Mouse and all his friends for what seemed like an awfully unfair pickup basketball game for whoever had Pluto or Chip 'n' Dale on their team.In the end, Mickey's Christmas wish came true, the tree was lit, and Santa flew away, leaving the Disney characters to ball on their own personal Christmas court. It goes without saying that major sports leagues know that falling back on wholesome messaging can win back audiences, but only time will tell if the NBA can beat its 4 million viewers from last Christmas. That number was more than 10 million in 2018, per Sports Media Watch, but the likelihood of that number being reached unfortunately seems like a pipe dream for the league.Like Blaze News?
