“Discovering A Hidden Room In My House That I Bought Over A Year Ago”

If you bought a house over a year ago and suddenly found a hidden room, you’d probably do some cussing, too. This is your warning that there were some colorful exclamations of shock and disbelief. Zara Braley bought herself a 1846 farmhouse about a year ago. She is busy discovering more interesting things about her house. From the looks of the outside footprint, it’s what we would call a “More-On” house. That’s where you start with a small house and add a little more on here and a little more on there. The result is an interesting bit of architectural mystery. That is how Zara found an entire hidden room with a window she had never noticed from the outside. @zara_braley Shoutout to my brother who came over with a head lamp and sense of adventure to find out what was behind the door in my bedroom…perks of having an old house you never know what you’ll find on a random Tuesday night #oldhouse #maine #hiddenroominmyhouse ♬ original sound – Zara It began with the floor-to-ceiling bookcases. They were large and cumbersome and came with the house. Rather than move them, Zara left them in place for a year. Finally moving them, she discovered a door hidden behind them. Opening that door led to another door that seemed locked from the inside. The Plot Thickens… Exploration led them to a hidden staircase to the hidden room. Technically an unfinished attic space, the room is quite large and loaded with possibilities. Noticing a window, Zara went outside to find out why she had never noticed the extra window. @zara_braley Part 2 for everyone asking how I didn’t notice the window #hiddenroominmyhouse #oldhome ♬ original sound – Zara She found the window on the side of the house above a small alcove addition. Part of her yard is behind a fence in her neighbor’s yard. Commenters are encouraging her to have a property survey done. The odd placement of the fence and the lack of access to parts of her home’s exterior are concerning. To stay in the loop of this adventure, follow Zara on TikTok. Her basement has mysteries, too. Liberal Group Targets 11 House Republicans Over Medicaid Provisions in GOP Bill

Liberal Group Targets 11 House Republicans Over Medicaid Provisions in GOP Bill

Fallout from the House Republicans’ budget reconciliation bill continues as a liberal advocacy group, Protect Our Care, is spending big on political ads against 11 GOP lawmakers in battleground districts. The digital ads are a key component of the liberal group’s $10 million “Hands Off Medicaid” campaign that claims the targeted Republicans helped deliver “the biggest cut to Medicaid in history.” The 11 Republican members of Congress targeted by the ads are Reps. David Schweikert of Arizona; David Valadao, Young Kim, and Ken Calvert of California; Nick LaLota, Andrew Garbarino, and Mike Lawler of New York; Brian Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mackenzie, and Rob Bresnahan of Pennsylvania; and Dan Newhouse of Washington state. The House version of the reconciliation bill would extend President Donald Trump’s 2017 first-term tax cuts as well as provide additional funding for border security. Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, is not one of the targeted GOP lawmakers, perhaps because he has criticized the bill, though not for the same reason as Protect Our Care. Davidson posted on X: “Deficits do matter, and this bill grows them now. The only Congress we can control is the one we’re in. Consequently, I cannot support this big deficit plan.” Outgoing Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk echoed the criticism. “I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,” Musk told CBS News. But House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., defended the bill, telling Fox News that he had “sent my good friend Elon a long text message explaining it can be big and beautiful.” Republicans are unable to codify DOGE cuts that took place in discretionary spending as the reconciliation bill only deals with mandatory spending, such as major entitlement programs like Medicaid. One of the ways House Republicans sought to save money was to make needed Medicaid reforms. The bill includes provisions that would create new work requirements for able-bodied Medicaid recipients who are between the ages of 19 and 64 years who don’t have young children. It also would remove ineligible recipients, such as illegal immigrants and other noncitizens, from the Medicaid rolls. But the bill also undercuts sources of federal revenue by fulfilling a Trump campaign promise of eliminating federal taxes on tips.  “More than 13 million Americans could lose health care—seniors, veterans, and children with disabilities,” the liberal group’s ad begins. The campaign claims that the GOP bill seeks “to give another huge tax break to billionaires and big corporations.” Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., has cautioned Republicans about taking major swings at the popular federal entitlement program, noting that there are now Republican voters who are on Medicaid. He has said he favors work requirements, however.  “Benefit cuts is where a red line would be for me,” Hawley explained to The Washington Examiner.  “I mean, a work requirement, that’s something that probably unites Republicans,” the Missouri senator said. Ultimately, the ads’ effectiveness will likely depend in part on how much of the Medicaid cuts the Senate ultimately agrees to. Protect Our Care was founded by Leslie Dach, who served in the administration of President Barack Obama as senior counselor to the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Its president is longtime Democratic strategist Brad Woodhouse, a onetime communications director for the Democratic National Committee. High school teacher's license suspended over inappropriate notes in students' yearbooks and devil costume in class

An investigation into a teacher accused of saying "hail Satan" while wearing a devil costume in class led to more allegations that he had written inappropriate notes in yearbooks of his high school students. Jesse Ruiz taught math at Mesa High School in Arizona before he resigned from his post in November over his behavior in class. He has since agreed to a negotiated settlement that would suspense his teaching license for two years. 'What really tipped it over for me is he kept telling him no, and the teacher kept persisting.' As the Blaze reported previously, a student in the class expressed his discomfort about the incident from October to KPNX-TV. "Some people thought it was funny, some people didn't like it, some people were like 'whatever,' they just blew it off," said Nathaniel Hamlet, a sophomore at the time. He said that Ruiz waved the pitchfork over students' heads and said "hail Satan" to some. It bothered Hamlet because he is a professing Christian. "I said, 'Don't do that to me,' and I pushed [the pitchfork] away, maybe three or four times, and he still said it and still did it," Hamlet recalled. Hamlet told his father, who had been a Mesa Public School board candidate, and he complained to the principal of the school. "I was livid because I am a Christian as well, obviously," said the father to the station. “What really tipped it over for me is he kept telling him no, and the teacher kept persisting.”Ruiz had claimed that he had dressed up as a part of Halloween spirit week along with another teacher, who had dressed up as an angel. He was placed on administrative leave soon afterward. RELATED: Grade school teacher fired after admitting having bipolar disorder and psychosis, supporting satanism on social media Photo by Jacek Boczarski/Anadolu via Getty Images After Ruiz resigned and had his license suspended, Chris Hamlet told KPNX-TV that he thought the teacher could redeem himself after two years. But then he heard about other accusations against the teacher and changed his mind. Ruiz reportedly made inappropriate comments to students in their yearbooks. Some examples included: “[T]hanks for all the free Canes HEHE. Gay Sex ... LOL.” “I am gonna miss the f**k out of you ..."“You should have run away from home or we should have kidnapped you,” to a female student."I think about every day and especially when I found a new ... or some new eye candy ;) on Instagram," to the same student."That was the big red flag right there," Chris Hamlet said about the allegations. "This is the pattern, and it's very dangerous. They should have stopped him at Skyline. He should have never got to Mesa. ... I think they need to pull his license. He has no business teaching children."Ruiz will need to complete a course about professional boundaries after the suspension before he's allowed to teach again. Like Blaze News?
