Whoopi: We Don’t Allow Lies on The View

Whoopi: We Don’t Allow Lies on The View

On Monday, Whoopi Goldberg had the gall to claim without evidence on ABC’s The View that she and her co-hosts were unbiased. The View, which has been previously caught spreading misinformation, attempted to identify as a source of factual information. Sunny began the segment by quoting Dan Rather, who was fired by CBS in 2006 for presenting unauthenticated documents in a news report: “Enough with both sides-ism. When one side lies intentionally and repeatedly, they are no longer entitled to the benefit of the doubt.”     Goldberg weighed in saying that a journalist’s main job is to make sure the facts are clear to the people watching. She acknowledged that there are some people that have doubts about networks spreading true information, but she was not one of them. “The media has pretty much always been fair to each side,” Whoopi drastically professed. She stated there is no bias in The View, “we have to tell you both sides.” But The View has been known to make back-breaking contortions to defend Democrats at any given chance. Whoopi continued to dig a hole “You all don't think the same way so you want to hear what other people say, but when they're lying, we can't have it.” Her sufficient support for The View being unbiased was because “Alyssa [Farah Griffin]’s here” and “Ana [Navarro]’s here.” Both are ardent Democrats, not just Biden voters. “We can't allow, on this show, to have things said that we know for a fact are not true” Whoopi confidently asserted despite the numerous times The View has been caught lying. The View, classified as “news” under ABC, was forced to issue three dozen legal notes in 2022 alone. Whoopi concluded by encouraging the audience to “Demand folk’s fact check what they're telling you because what they’re telling you is important.” Click "Expand" to view the transcript: ABC The View 6/24/2024 11:10:03 – 11:11:50 (…) SUNNY HOSTIN: Can I just add one last thing? What was interesting to me is Dan Rather weighed in on X and he said -- he compared our time now to the Nixon era which was a little scary for me, but he said, “Enough with both sides-ism. When one side lies intentionally and repeatedly, they are no longer entitled to the benefit of the doubt.” WHOOPI GOLDBERG: And we should keep in mind, too, that the people that need to hear this are the people who are running the networks that are okaying this because this idea -- it's like they say to you now, you can only work within this perimeter, but if the facts don't -- if the facts are not clear to people, that was what a journalist was there to do, to say, in fact, this is what went on, and this is how we checked. Now we all have -- we have been given doubts that people don't know how to do this. The media has pretty much always been fair to each side, and now when we've gone to this place where you only hear this -- see, we have to tell you both sides. That's why Alyssa's here. That's why Ana's here, because we don't all think the same way, and it's like you all. You all don't think the same way so you want to hear what other people say, but when they're lying, we can't have it. We can't allow on this show to have things said that we know for a fact are not true. That's what it used to be. That's what it needs to go back to being, and that's where y'all come in. It's okay to feel how you feel, but demand the truth. Demand folk’s fact check what they're telling you because what they’re telling you is important. (…)

Hollywood business owners install planters to keep out homeless tents and promise to defy city order to remove them

Fed up business owners in Hollywood, California, pooled their resources to do something about the homeless tents that were driving away customers, but the city demanded that they stop immediately. The owners said that they paid to install planters after a two-year battle against homeless encampments threatened their businesses. 'The mayor should be embarrassed because it’s disgusting how many small businesses have fled and left.' At the beginning of June, city officials finally cleared out the encampments. In order to prevent them from returning, the owners installed planters and garden beds that would allow customers to walk through. They said that they tried numerous times to get help from law enforcement and city officials but were ignored. Instead of supporting the owners, the city is reportedly demanding that they remove all the planters by Monday morning. “We’ve literally watched all our neighbors leave,” said Monheim Microphones owner Andrew Monheim to KTLA-TV. “I think one of the saddest things right now is small business retention. The mayor should be embarrassed because it’s disgusting how many small businesses have fled and left.”The city sent a notice to the owners on Friday telling them that the planters were obstructions and needed to be removed by Monday or city workers would clear them out. 'You should be proud to have tourists walking down the street instead of defecation and p*** on the ground.' Monheim is furious at the city. “You should be proud to have tourists walking down the street instead of defecation and p*** on the ground,” he said, addressing the officials. “You should be proud to have money coming in and flowing through your city.”Paul Camarata, the owner of the legendary music studio Sunset Sound, had been denouncing the lack of effort from city officials for years. "It's been a frustration for me and all my employees," he said. "They were blocking our entrance, blocking our trash can removal. Obviously, not conducive for the clients that come in here to see what's going on and they've got to wade through it driving in."Camarata told KABC-TV that he spoke to the mayor, and she assured him that the homeless tents would not return. Monheim went on to say that he would not comply with the order to remove the planters, and he might even lock them down with chains in order to prevent city workers from removing them. "They will not move on Monday," he said simply. The interview with Monheim was published at KTLA's YouTube channel. Like Blaze News? Biden campaign chair indicates Florida is not a battleground state in 2024

While speaking to John Heilemann, Biden campaign chair Jen O'Malley Dillon expressed the view that North Carolina is a battleground state, but Florida is not.North Carolina was solid red in presidential elections from 1980 through 2004 before going to Obama in 2008. But the state has since voted for Republican presidential candidates from 2012 through 2020. 'Florida is not in play in 2024.'The Sunshine State has previously been a swing state during presidential contests. It went to Republican George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004, then to Democrat Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, and then to Republican Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020."For decades, Florida was the largest, most-important battleground state in presidential elections. Today, even the Biden campaign acknowledges that those days are over. Florida is not in play in 2024," Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis tweeted.DeSantis decisively won re-election in 2022 by nearly 20%. He launched a Republican presidential primary bid in 2023 but ultimately dropped out and endorsed Trump in early 2024 after a lackluster performance in the Iowa caucuses."Florida is in play for President Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot," Biden campaign battleground states director Dan Kanninen said in a statement, according to the Tampa Bay Times."We're not naive about the challenges ahead, but we're building the foundation of Democratic success, not just for this cycle, but for the years and decades to come," Florida Democratic Party chair Nikki Fried said in a statement, according to the outlet. "Don't count Florida out."Later this week, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are slated to face off for their first debate of the 2024 election cycle. The debate will be moderated by CNN's Jake Tapper and Dana Bash in Atlanta, Georgia.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Judges partially block Biden's student loan forgiveness plan over constitutional challenge from 11 states

Judges partially block Biden's student loan forgiveness plan over constitutional challenge from 11 states

Two judges sided against the student loan forgiveness plan pushed by President Joe Biden based on a challenge from Republican-led states on Monday. Biden promised during his 2016 campaign to transfer student loan debt from those who borrowed money to all taxpayers, but eleven states filed a lawsuit accusing Biden of usurping the power of Congress. 'Kansas’s victory today is a victory for the entire country ... This is not only unconstitutional, it’s unfair.' U.S. District Judge Daniel Crabtree in Wichita, Kansas, blocked parts of the plan moments before U.S. District Judge John Ross in St. Louis, Missouri, issued a preliminary injunction against the plan. Biden's plot was scheduled to go into effect on July 1. Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach praised the rulings in a written statement. “Kansas’s victory today is a victory for the entire country,” wrote Kobach. “As the court correctly held, whether to forgive billions of dollars of student debt is a major question that only Congress can answer. Biden’s administration is attempting to usurp Congress’s authority. This is not only unconstitutional, it’s unfair. Blue collar Kansas workers who didn’t go to college shouldn’t have to pay off the student loans of New Yorkers with gender studies degrees.”Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey posted about the decision on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "The Court has granted our motion to BLOCK Joe Biden’s illegal student loan plan," Bailey posted. "Congress never gave Biden the authority to saddle working Americans with half-a-trillion dollars in other people's debt. A huge win for the Constitution."'This unconstitutional handout is costing taxpayers billions.' Republican Rep. Stephanie of Oklahoma reminded people that the student loan forgiveness plan would have massive financial consequences for the budget. "Biden's student loan giveaway is not free and this unconstitutional handout is costing taxpayers billions," she said on social media. She added an article from CNN reporting that the plan would contribute to a 27% budget shortfall, according to the Congressional Budgeting Office. One survey from Bankrate found that 18% of Americans said student debt will have a major influence on their voting choices in November, while the rate increased to 29% among those who had outstanding student loans. Former President Donald Trump has excoriated Biden's student forgiveness plans and called them "vile" and illegal. Like Blaze News?
