Multimillionaire TV host and movie star Whoopi Goldberg lashed out at poor people during Monday’s edition of ABC’s The View. She was irate that poor people would dare to be upset about having to pay high prices for basic goods and vote against President Biden because of it. She told them to ignore inflation and suggested that if they didn’t‚ and former President Trump returned to the White House‚ he would have them put in “camps.” Goldberg lamented that “people's faith in the country is waning” and that it was “pissing me off” because Biden was trying to save the country from Trump. “Because‚ in fact‚ here's a reason Joe Biden ran the way he did. There's a reason he’s running for democracy now‚ because that’s really what’s at stake‚” she bloviated. Becoming unglued‚ Goldberg demanded that poor people stop worrying about paying their bills and suggested‚ without evidence‚ that Trump was going to put them in concentration camps: You’re worried that you can't pay your bill? My bold prediction for 2024 is one many Republican political analysts won’t want to hear. Christian conservative voters are going to have a “Genesis revelation" — namely that politicians will speak “Christianese” to get their votes‚ all while rejecting the most basic definitions and principles found in the first book of the Bible. When the Pharisees asked Jesus about paying taxes‚ he told them‚ “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s‚ and to God the things that are God’s.” That instruction was a reminder that civil government has authority over certain areas of public life. But Jesus’ words also made it clear that public officials’ authority is limited. Progressives disagree. They assume that if the Son of God can control the weather with His words‚ then Joe Biden can do the same with his pen. Most Christian conservatives can spot this god complex on the left‚ but I’m not sure how many see it spreading on the right. Chris Christie‚ presidential hopeful and former governor of New Jersey‚ claimed recently that his personal position on same-sex marriage has changed. He told voters at a campaign event in New Hampshire that his parents and Catholic faith informed his view that marriage is between a man and a woman. But after pressure from his children‚ changing social norms‚ and his claim that Pope Francis is allowing “blessings” for same-sex couples‚ he now believes that a “marriage” can be composed of two men or two women. Christie is not the only Republican who would need support from Christian conservative voters who can’t pass the “Genesis test.” Several self-described conservative politicians subscribe to definitions of gender and marriage that directly contradict the Bible. Neither the political left nor right seem to grasp that‚ for many Christian voters‚ our faith isn’t a brand or trendy belief system. It is the true north of our moral compass. Put simply‚ on issue after issue‚ the GOP’s most socially conservative voters are being represented by people who don’t share their values. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley recently told CBS News that parents should be allowed to “handle” medical decisions for children who feel they were born in the wrong body. Haley made two mistakes in that interview. One was her failure to push back on the CBS reporter’s use of the phrase “assigned female at birth‚” the left’s preferred framing for a child’s biological sex. The second mistake was her reflexive appeal to parental rights that missed the mark for a crucial reason: Sex is determined at conception and cannot be changed with language‚ laws‚ drugs‚ or surgeries. This is the way Republicans should speak about the issue of transgenderism in the public square. Too often‚ however‚ conservative politicians sacrifice truth to appeal to liberal sensibilities on culture war issues. Even President Trump‚ the presumptive GOP nominee‚ failed to clearly state that a man can’t become a woman during an interview last year with Megyn Kelly. Christian conservatives must understand that the politicians who can’t stand for truth when it comes to human biology or the natural family are in no position to lead a cultural revival in the public square. Representative Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) recently broke up with her fiancé‚ but they were still together when she showed up at a prayer breakfast in South Carolina last year‚ and she made a joke about premarital sex in a room full of Christians. The crowd who heard the joke laughed uncomfortably‚ but the Christian conservatives I follow online did not. They also don’t take it lightly when conservative politicians get caught up in cheating scandals or divorce their spouses after coming to Washington‚ D.C. The voters who allow their faith to inform their political decisions aren’t bigots. They just take the Bible seriously‚ especially when it comes to the policies and cultural norms that have clear biblical connections. This is why Christian conservatives are to the right of the party when it comes to matters of sex‚ sexuality‚ and family.How can elected officials who cheat on their spouses be counted on to promote healthy marriages and strong families? Neither the political left nor right quite seem to grasp the fact that for many Christian voters‚ our faith isn’t a brand or trendy belief system. It is the foundation of our worldview and the true north of our moral compass. It is also why we understand that the declaration “Jesus is Lord” is a political statement that upsets both wings of America’s political bird — precisely because it means Caesar is not. Christians watching the secularization of the Republican Party must begin to prepare themselves for what comes next. The entire political landscape in this country will change if Christian conservatives exit the Republican Party or stop voting in large numbers on the national level. But the coming separation has as much to do with the private sector as it does politics. Politicians who don’t recognize the role big business plays in degrading our culture will sell out Christian voters at a moment’s notice. They will defend media companies like Disney and Nickelodeon if they even think a few jobs may come to their district. Promoting “pride parades” and drag queens to toddlers is a small price parents have to pay for conservatives who have convinced themselves they actually can serve both God and money.

The authorities have said that they were able to locate a missing 16-year-old girl from Ohio after receiving unlikely assistance from the popular online video game World of Warcraft. The girl was reportedly discovered at a residence in Florida‚ according to CNN.The FBI apparently reached out to the Marion County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday asking for help in finding the missing girl. The Marion County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook concerning the incident‚ writing that 31-year-old Thomas Ebersole had been arrested for "Traveling to Meet a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity‚ Interfering with Child Custody‚ and Sheltering an Unmarried Minor."Investigators discovered that the teen's account for World of Warcraft — one of the largest online multiplayer role-playing games — was active at a residence in Dunnellon‚ Florida. The game is unique in that it allows potentially millions of people to inhabit the same virtual space‚ developing their characters and interacting with one another.The authorities eventually discovered that the residence where the teen's gaming account was active belonged to Ebersole‚ whose own World of Warcraft account was also active at the time.CNN reported that Ebersole denied knowing the teen girl at first‚ but he eventually admitted that he had traveled to Ohio to meet the girl and bring her back to Florida‚ according to the Facebook post."Ebersole also stated he was in a romantic relationship with the juvenile victim and was going to hide her in his home with plans for her to become his wife‚" the Facebook post continued. "Ebersole provided Detective Osthed with Discord (an internet-based communications application) messages that further outlined his plans to meet the victim in Ohio and engage in sexual activity despite knowing that he was committing a crime."Ebersole was ultimately taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly traveling across state lines for the purpose of meeting a minor to engage in sexual activity‚ interfering with child custody‚ and sheltering an unmarried minor.The 31-year-old was subsequently taken to the Marion County Jail‚ where he is currently being held without bail. He is set to appear in court on February 6. The left is triggered by Vivek Ramaswamy. Liberals just can’t understand how he‚ especially as a person of color‚ could possibly refuse to denounce white supremacy – the modern version of white supremacy‚ that is. Pat Gray plays a recent clip showing Ramaswamy “being pushed into a corner on race issues again‚” but thankfully the candidate handled the ambush with expert articulacy. “When you were talking to reporters last night‚ you called white supremacy a myth. When someone asked you about Dylann Roof‚ you said you didn't know who that is. Have you looked up what happened in 2015?” asked Dasha Burns‚ citing the mass murderer who shot and killed nine African-Americans on June 17‚ 2015‚ in South Carolina. “Yeah‚” Ramaswamy answered‚ confirming he knew about Roof’s crimes. “Invidious racial discrimination is wrong no matter how it happens.” However‚ “it's incumbent for us to define what white supremacy is‚” especially “what the popular understanding of these terms [has] come to mean‚” he continued. “Do you believe punctuality is a vestige of white supremacy … or the written word … or the nuclear family? These aren't my words; these are the words of intellectual proponents from Ibram Kendi to Ayanna Pressley to BLM that have said these are vestiges of white supremacy.” That’s all it took for Burns to lose her cool. “This is what you do‚ though. You choose straw men‚” she fired back‚ accusing him of cherry-picking his arguments. But Ramaswamy just hit her with more facts. “If you really care about actual crime against black Americans‚ let's get to the root causes of it‚” he said‚ citing “black-on-black crime” as the main source of the problem. “The Anti-Defamation League tracked a 38% increase in white supremacist propaganda last year‚” Burns spat back. “The ADL isn’t a particularly credible source‚” Ramaswamy said‚ before shooting down Burns’ next set of statistics from the FBI. “What they classify as a hate crime is itself a political judgment. I think that when you actually care about protecting life‚ if you want to say black lives matter‚ let's look at where black lives are actually being lost – it's in the cities at the heart of other black Americans and criminals.” That only made Burns even more angry‚ but Ramaswamy carried on with his usual eloquence. “My whole point is‚ racism has been a major problem for most of our national history‚ but we’re getting close to the promised land that Martin Luther King envisioned. General Motors' Cruise offered $75‚000 on Friday to settle a California regulator's investigation following an incident that resulted in a pedestrian being dragged by one of its self-driving vehicles.According to Fox Business‚ GM's autonomous taxi service unit proposed a settlement offer to resolve the California Public Utilities Commission's probe into allegations that Cruise failed to disclose information involving the incident.In October‚ a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle operated by a human and thrown into the path of an autonomous Cruise car. The driverless vehicle dragged the individual 20 feet while attempting to pull over. As a result‚ both California and the National High Traffic Safety Administration launched investigations into the incident.According to the CPUC‚ an official for Cruise notified the commission's analyst the day after the incident but "omitted that the Cruise [autonomous vehicles] had engaged in the pullover maneuver which resulted in the pedestrian being dragged an additional 20 feet at 7 mph." The CPUS claimed Cruise misled "through omission" and provided "misleading public comments" regarding the company's dealings with the commission.Cruise responded to the probes in November‚ stating‚ "In the incident being reviewed by the DMV‚ a human hit and run driver tragically struck and propelled the pedestrian into the path of the AV. The AV braked aggressively before impact and because it detected a collision‚ it attempted to pull over to avoid further safety issues." "When the AV tried to pull over‚ it continued before coming to a final stop‚ pulling the pedestrian forward‚" the statement continued.In addition to launching an investigation‚ California also pulled the company's testing permits‚ prohibiting the autonomous vehicles from driving on public roads‚ Blaze News previously reported. However‚ it did express gratitude for his soon-to-be former employer and optimism about his prospects. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R) thoroughly dismantled on Sunday CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan for attempting to paint him as an "election denier."In the aftermath of the 2020 election‚ Johnson — and the majority of the House Republican caucus at the time — signed an amicus brief supporting Texas v. Pennsylvania‚ a lawsuit filed to the Supreme Court. The case alleged that Pennsylvania‚ Georgia‚ Michigan‚ and Wisconsin had violated the Constitution because those states changed their election procedures (citing the COVID-19 pandemic as justification) through non-state legislative means. The Supreme Court ultimately dismissed the case after finding that Texas did not have standing to sue.But in an interview Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation‚" Brennan tried to use Johnson's support for the case to smear him as an "election denier.""You were the lawmaker who circulated the legal brief ... which‚ by CBS editorial standards‚ makes you an election denier‚" she told Johnson.Johnson‚ however‚ put up a fight and ultimately forced Brennan to admit that she had not actually read the legal brief — but had only consumed opinions about it."That's nonsense. I'm not an election denier‚" Johnson said. "Did you read the brief? Did you get a chance to read what we filed with the Supreme Court?""Well‚ I have read extensively some criticisms of that‚ but —" Brennan admitted."You read commentary about the brief‚ but not what we submitted to the court‚ right?" the speaker followed up. Brennan‚ unfortunately‚ refused to answer the question‚ instead asking Johnson to affirm that Biden won the 2020 election‚ which he did before explaining why the court brief does not make him an "election denier.""President Biden was certified as the winner of the election. He took the oath of office. He's been the president for three years‚" Johnson said. "The argument that we presented to the court‚ which is our only avenue to do so‚ was that the Constitution was clearly violated in the 2020 election. "It's Article II‚ Section 1‚ and anyone can Google it and read it for themselves‚" he explained. "The system by which you choose electors to elect the president of the United States must be done by the individual states‚ and the system must be ratified with the state legislatures. That is language‚ plain language‚ out of the Constitution. "The Constitution was violated in the run-up to the 2020 election — not always in bad faith — but in the aftermath of COVID‚ many states changed their election laws in ways that violated that plain language‚" he continued. "That's just a fact. We presented that argument and those facts to the court. And it was never directly addressed because of the Texas litigation. But that was the only vehicle we had to present that issue squarely to the court."There is no word yet whether CBS News will label every Democrat who has challenged the election of a Republican to the presidency as an "election denier."
