Records Reveal How ‘Bidenbucks’ Could Affect Battleground Nevada

At least four federal agencies likely will be involved in helping to mobilize voters in Nevada, based on President Joe Biden’s executive order on elections, which some critics call “Bidenbucks.” Through a public records request, The Daily Signal obtained copies of letters from Nevada Secretary of State Francisco V. Aguilar to federal agencies regarding implementation of Biden’s executive order.  Executive Order 14019, which Biden signed in March 2021, directs every federal agency to be active in boosting voter participation and to partner with nonprofit organizations in doing so.  Previous records obtained by The Daily Signal as well as watchdog groups show these private actors partnering with agencies or communicating with Biden White House officials on the order. These actors include left-leaning groups such as Demos and the American Civil Liberties Union, the Brennan Center for Justice, the Southern Poverty Law Center, billionaire financier George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, and Fair Fight Action, founded by Stacey Abrams, who lost twice as the Democrat nominee for Georgia governor. On Oct. 27, Aguilar, a Democrat elected as Nevada’s secretary of state in 2022, wrote top officials in the federal Labor, Health and Human Services, and Veterans Affairs departments, as well as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, a subagency in the Department of Homeland Security.  Aguilar’s request was for each federal agency to act as a voter registration agency in Nevada, which, he writes, is pursuant to Biden’s executive order.  “Your partnership in this designation will greatly benefit Nevada’s voters by distributing voter registration applications, assisting with qualified voter registrations, and ensuring completed applications are transmitted to County Clerks/Registrars,” his letter to each of the four agencies says. Aguilar’s letter also cites Section 7 of the 1993 National Voter Registration Act. The section requires that states offer voter registration opportunities at certain state and local offices, including public assistance and disability offices.  That section of the U.S. statute known as the “motor voter law” also says that “states may designate as voter-registration agencies nongovernmental offices (such as private colleges) or federal government offices,” according to the Justice Department. In his letter to Labor Secretary Julie Su, Aguilar specifically asks the department to designate its American Job Centers. Those centers were established in 2014 to offer training referrals, career counseling, job listings, and other employment-related services. A spokesperson for Aguilar did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment before publication time. The White House previously announced that the Labor Department would encourage states to designate the more than 2,400 American Job Centers as voter registration locations. A subagency at the Department of Health and Human Services, the Administration for Community Living, announced it would create a “voting access hub” to connect with older adults and those with disabilities who want to vote.  The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced it would provide materials and assistance in both registering and voting for tens of thousands of inpatients and residents, including inpatients at VA medical centers. “We are exploring the opportunity to become an NVRA-designated agency in Nevada,” Veterans Affairs spokesperson Susan Carter told The Daily Signal, referring to the National Voter Registration Act.  “Currently, VA only has three pilot NVRA designated agencies in the state of Michigan,” she said. Spokespersons for the other three federal agencies involved did not immediately respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment on this report. The House Administration Committee, which has oversight of elections, earlier subpoenaed 15 members of Biden’s Cabinet regarding the implementation of the president’s executive order.  Republicans object to Biden’s order, noting it could prompt federal employees to violate the Hatch Act, a law that prohibits partisan political activity using government time or resources, as well as the Antideficiency Act, which prohibits federal agencies from spending public money on matters not authorized by Congress.  Biden administration officials have argued that the president’s order is about promoting voter accessibility and ensuring that voting is easier for Americans. The House Committee on Small Business has investigated the Small Business Administration’s efforts to register voters, holding a hearing June 5. In March, SBA announced a memorandum of understanding with the Michigan Department of State, the chief election agency for the battleground state, to facilitate voter registration efforts ahead of the election cycle this year. Forgotten Cat with a Forgiving Heart Showers People with Affection When He Receives What He Has Wished for

A forgotten cat with a forgiving heart showered people with affection when he received what he had longed for. DreamsicleRebekkahAn orange-cream cat was cast out of his home and left to fend for himself on a busy street, where his future became uncertain.Despite being neglected and unwanted, this forgiving feline continued to show affection, clinging to the hope that a kind passerby would one day stop and offer him the love he had always longed for.Rebekkah, a volunteer rescuer for Little Wanderers NYC, was feeding street cats when she noticed a friendly stray trotting up to her. He was skin and bones and looked as if he hadn't eaten in days. He was hungry for food and affectionRebekkahLife on the streets had been tough for Dreamsicle, the cat. Despite being severely neglected and often bullied and chased away from his food by the neighborhood tomcats, he remained sweet and gentle, content with a simple meal and a few chin scritches.Realizing that Dreamsicle didn't belong on the streets, Rebekkah's parents offered to take him until a long-term foster family came along. He walked up to his rescuer for attention and petsRebekkahDreamsicle was exhausted from the constant hunger, harsh elements, and the daily struggles he had to endure. "He was limp when I picked him up from the street," Rebekkah told Love Meow. The moment he stepped into the house, he seemed to come alive, exploring his new surroundings with renewed energy and curiosity. Dreamsicle was an instant love bugRebekkah"He knew he was safe once he heard the sound of a can of cat food opening. He snarfed it down, had a can or two more, and napped for almost a full day."Before long, Dreamsicle blossomed into a true social butterfly. He eagerly greeted new people with his charming good looks and lovable meows, always craving attention and affection. He adores every person he meetsRebekkah"He is a chatterbox and a love bug. He wants to be pet and cuddled, and he loves to investigate new spaces. He likes to show off his tummy (we are working on making it fatter)."Gail, a foster volunteer, opened her home to Dreamsicle, excited to spoil him with all the comforts and luxuries that come with being a pampered indoor cat. GailDreamsicle quickly discovered the joy of playing with toys, pouncing and chasing after them with boundless energy. He also learned to enjoy long naps, lounging on a chair and basking in the warm sunlight without a care in the world."He loves people and wants to be with you all the time. He doesn't know a stranger," Gail shared with Love Meow. He's learned to enjoy long naps and lounging by the windowRebekkahDreamsicle adores both humans and other cats, always wanting to join in the fun and snuggle up in bed with them. He rolls on the floor, revealing his belly in a playful attempt to win over his feline friends."Every person who has met him has been so impressed by his resilience and joy in spite of his past," Nora of Little Wanderers NYC told Love Meow. Kamala meets with a man in a dress while Putin and Kim Jong Un conspire?!

While Russia’s Vladimir Putin is getting friendly with all of America’s enemies and holding meetings with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, the White House is executing a much different strategy. Vice President Kamala Harris invited the cast of Bravo’s “Queer Eye” to visit the White House to celebrate Pride Month. “Queer Eye” is a show where gay celebrities give straight men makeovers. Harris then posted videos of their visit, one featuring the caption: “The cast of @QueerEye joined me at the White House to discuss the hard-fought progress the LGBTQI+ community has made in the past 20 years. Thank you for a meaningful conversation, for giving my office your stamp of approval, and for being fabulous.” One video featured a member of the cast standing behind the podium as if giving a press conference answering questions about his hair. Glenn Beck can’t believe that these are the people in charge. “Here he is standing behind the podium at the White House, and then he does a deal with the vice president where he knocks on her door and she opens it up in the West Wing and she’s like ‘Hello,’ and he’s like ‘Surprise’ and they come in, he’s wearing a dress and heels and everything else,” he says. “Don’t lecture me about women,” he adds, shaking his head. Black belt family members hear screams next door to their studio, rush over to rescue female from attempted sexual assault

A family of taekwondo black belts on Tuesday heard screams next door to their Houston-area studio, hurried over, and ended up rescuing a female from an attempted sexual assault.Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez hailed the heroic act on X, calling the family of five a "group of good samaritans" who "rushed to safe [sic] the day."Hannah An told KHOU that when they opened the doors, she 'saw a man on top of a woman, and the woman was on the ground.'Gonzalez added that "deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in the 6800 block of Fry Road. Upon arrival, instructors from the Yong-In Tae Kwon Do dojo had a male pinned to the ground. During the course of their investigation, deputies learned the instructors were notified of yelling next door. The instructors went next door where they observed a male attempting to sexually assault a female. They were able to pull the female away from her attacker. The male then turned to attack the good samaritans. By utilizing their training and discipline, they managed to stop the assault and hold him. Deputies obtained charges for attempted sexual assault and unlawful detention on behalf of the survivor and assault on behalf of the instructors."The family consists of Grandmaster Han An — the dad — as well as Hong An — the mom — and siblings Hannah An, 22, Simon An, 20, and Christian An, 18, KHOU-TV reported. They all hold at least 4th-degree black belts in taekwondo, with their dad boasting an 8th-degree black belt.Simon An told the station his family members were coming back from lunch around 4 p.m. when they heard screaming coming from the Cricket Wireless store, which is located near to their training center in the Cypress area.Hannah An told KHOU that when they opened the doors, she "saw a man on top of a woman, and the woman was on the ground." Simon An told NBC News the attacker's hands were “in [in]appropriate places” as the female tried to fend him off.Grandmaster An immediately took down the male suspect, KHOU said, adding that Simon An and Christian An stepped up as well.'My dad is strong. He expected us to protect him,' Simon An added to NBC News. 'He had a lot of trust in us.'Of their dad's skills, Simon An told KHOU that his father "just kept him in the corner, he just kept pushing down." Hannah An called it "automatic self-defense, automatic taekwondo style," KHOU reported.Simon An told NBC News that "the intruder was trying to run away — scratching, biting, anything he could do," but Grandmater An held down the attacker for 10 minutes until law enforcement arrived.“My dad is strong. He expected us to protect him,” Simon An added to NBC News. “He had a lot of trust in us.”Hannah An shared with the station that she and her mother, Hong An, took the female to their training center: "Making sure that she's OK because she needed that after that experience, after that situation that happened out of nowhere."Gonzalez told KHOU that 19-year-old Alex Robinson was arrested and charged with attempted sexual assault, unlawful detention, and assault on the instructors.Robinson appeared in probable cause court overnight on the sexual assault charge, the station said, adding that a defense attorney asked for a low bond, claiming Robinson is indigent and has mental health concerns. The judge set his bond at $100,000, KHOU said. The following day, the station said students surrounded Grandmaster An, who didn't seem rattled by the experience: "I'm very proud of my family."Hannah An told KHOU she isn't dwelling on the "heroes" accolade, either: "I thank everybody who's calling us that, but still, I think anybody can do it."Simon An added to the station he's grateful his family's martial arts skills could help: "You wouldn’t really expect it in an everyday situation, but when the time comes, it’s very valuable."You can view KHOU's interview with members of the An family here. Florida school district employee faces termination after she let her son play on girls' volleyball team

A woman in Florida may soon be fired from her job with the Broward County school district after she apparently allowed her son to play on the girls' volleyball team at his high school.Last November, Jessica Norton was one of several members of the faculty and staff at Monarch High School near Fort Lauderdale to be reassigned to jobs at "non-school sites" after then-Superintendent Peter Licata discovered that a boy may have been playing on the school's girls' volleyball team, as Blaze News previously reported. 'I saw the light in my daughter’s eyes gleam with future plans of organizing and attending prom, participating and leading senior class traditions, speaking at graduation, and going off to college.'That boy turned out to be Norton's son, though she routinely refers to him as her "daughter." She also indicated that his name and gender have both been legally changed, and Florida law does permit minors to legally change their gender on birth certificates and driver's licenses so long as they have parental consent, according to the National Center for Transgender Equality. However, another Floridian law, the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, signed into law in 2021, forbids biological males like Norton's son from joining sports teams reserved for women and girls. Not only did Norton apparently violate this statute by knowingly permitting her son, now 16, to play on the girls' team, but she also allegedly kept his gender listed as "female" on school records and checked "female" on a form asking about his sex at birth.Norton was an information management specialist at Monarch as well as the school's junior varsity volleyball coach, though whether her son played on her team or another volleyball team is unclear. She was then transferred to a district facility where she was assigned janitorial tasks in defiance of a district collective bargaining agreement which requires her to be given clerical work comparable to her original position, she alleged.Meanwhile, an initial district investigation into whether she violated the FWSA failed to clear her of wrongdoing, escalating her case to a professional standards committee. In March, that committee recommended that Norton receive a 10-day suspension, but then-Superintendent Licata and current Superintendent Howard Hepburn overruled that decision and recommended termination instead. The Broward County School Board was scheduled to consider her termination at a meeting on Tuesday, but that agenda item was pulled a few days before. No explanation for the last-minute change was given.Nevertheless, Norton and her husband, Gary, attended the meeting where Norton proceeded to sing her own praises. "I don’t have to tell you about all the heart that I bring to the Monarch High School community. The public statements of support that you have received on my behalf tell the story of who I am and what I have meant to countless students, colleagues, and families at Monarch High School," she gushed. She also congratulated herself on how well she has handled the investigation into her alleged FWSA violation. "For 203 days, I have been forthright and honest," said the woman who calls her son a girl, "and have not been treated with a shred of respect or simple decency."She even cast herself as the "hero" in her son's transgender drama. "It’s all right if I’m the villain in [the administration's] story because I am the hero in my daughter's story," she averred.Norton also spent considerable time explaining how her son was "flourishing" at Monarch High while masquerading as a girl. "I saw the light in my daughter’s eyes gleam with future plans of organizing and attending prom, participating and leading senior class traditions, speaking at graduation, and going off to college with the confidence and joy that any student like her would after a successful and enriching high school experience," she claimed. That "light was extinguished" when her son was "outed" as transgender last fall, Norton insisted. "Not one person in the District who is responsible for her checked-in on her safety or well-being," she complained. "They claim to care about all students but they didn’t care about my child."Norton's fate with the district is now scheduled to be considered at the school board meeting next month. Her son, whose identity has not been released, currently attends virtual school. Norton also has two older children. Their genders are unknown.Like Blaze News?
