The Rovaniemi Court of Appeal increased the compensation liability of the man who received the longest prison sentence by 300 euros. Otherwise, the sentence previously given by the district court remained unchanged.

A GIRL UNDER THE age of 16 was the victim of a brutal gang rape in Oulu in November 2021.
Three men successively had unprotected, vaginal sex with the girl. The men who committed gross child rape took advantage of the girl's state of intoxication. They also watched each other's act in the same room.
The district court sentenced each man to more than five years in prison, and they appealed their sentence to the Rovaniemi Court of Appeal. However, it did not produce results. The prison sentences remained unchanged.
The crime took place at the apartment of Osamah Ibrahim Habeeb AI Yasari , 31, who received the longest prison sentence of 7 years . He also had sex with the girl numerous times before and after the gang rape. The man lured and persuaded the girl to commit the acts by giving her money and marijuana.

SOME of the acts were harsh, and they caused the girl pain. In addition to gross child rape, the man was guilty of a gross drug crime, assault and buying sexual services from a young person.
Abdulrahman Bash , 26, received a 6.5-year prison sentence for aggravated child rape. The day after the gang rape, he had unprotected sex with the girl in his own apartment.
When measuring the punishment, the court also took into account the man's conditional prison sentences, which were ordered to be executed.
Othman Ghadif Khalaf , 25, received a 5.5-year prison sentence for aggravated child rape.
THE MEN have to pay the girl jointly and severally 15,000 euros in damages.
In addition to that, AI Yasari has to pay the girl EUR 9,000 in compensation for suffering, pain and distress. The Court of Appeal slightly increased his liability for compensation. Bash, on the other hand, has to pay the girl 1,500 compensation for suffering.
The male trio also has to pay the girl's court costs of thousands of euros.
The verdict given by the Rovaniemi Court of Appeal last week is not legally binding.
