Stewart Gushes Over Mamdani In Pre-Election Puff Segment

Late night comedy’s all-out effort to drag Zohran Mamdani across the finish line in New York City’s upcoming mayoral election continued on Monday on Comedy Central with its most direct bit of campaigning. The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart welcomed Mamdani to tell him how much “I love hearing” about his campaign and to claim that he has been surprised establishment Democrats have not fallen in line behind him. Stewart insisted that he is not “blowing smoke,” but he clearly was, “And what I love hearing about this is, one of the things that has been so frustrating in our politics is so much of it has been defined over these last ten years as the negative case against someone, and finally—and I think this is not blowing smoke -- I think you've made an affirmative case for people. I think the enthusiasm that they have for you is because you have made an affirmative case that's not about protecting something that is going to be lost or a bad man that’s over there.”     As for Mamdani’s intra-party critics, Stewart added, “It is about an idea that you have, and it surprised me that the Democratic establishment did not embrace that energy. And is that something that has bothered you? Is getting better? I mean, Hakeem Jeffries, with a brave, brave endorsement, I thought, 24 hours ago—what has that been like for you?” Mamdani’s “affirmative case” is basically being the middle schooler who runs for student government promising no homework and free ice cream all day, every day. There’s also the Hamas propagandizing that, somehow, Stewart never managed to bring up in a 30-minute interview. As for Mamdani’s response, he took the free opportunity to pat himself on the back, “You know, I think it is interesting in many ways, because our politics and the media that covers it is often focused on the question of endorsements. And it is part of what gave Cuomo the sense of inevitability in the primary. He just seemed to pick up all of these different endorsements. And I think what we showed in many ways was that the days of endorsements deciding elections, those days have come to the end. It is the people who built up a campaign. And, you know, I appreciate having Congressman Jeffries, his endorsement, and I appreciate more than that when we have spoken, it's been about, how do we deliver for our shared constituents?” Turning to Trump, he continued, “Because it’s, you know—these are the same New Yorkers, whether we are representing them in city hall or Albany or D.C., and like you said, we have been telling them time and again that all we have to offer is not Trump. But this is also the city that created Trump. We have to reckon with that. And when you think about—” Stewart then interrupted, “Did you hear, there was an audible gasp? ‘This is the city that created Trump’ and everyone was like, ‘Oh, my god, that's right!’ Are we Dr. Frankenstein? Nooooo! Nooooo!’" Yes, but instead of Trump, New York and the late night comedy shows should be more worried about giving the rest of us Mamdani. Here is a transcript for the October 27 show: Comedy Central The Daily Show 10/27/2025 11:30 PM ET JON SETWART: And what I love hearing about this is, one of the things that has been so frustrating in our politics is so much of it has been defined over these last ten years as the negative case against someone, and finally — and I think this is not blowing smoke — I think you've made an affirmative case for people. I think the enthusiasm that they have for you is because you have made an affirmative case that's not about protecting something that is going to be lost or a bad man that’s over there. It is about an idea that you have, and it surprised me that the Democratic establishment did not embrace that energy. And is that something that has bothered you? Is getting better? I mean, Hakeem Jeffries, with a brave, brave endorsement, I thought, 24 hours ago — what has that been like for you? ZOHRAN MAMDANI: You know, I think it is interesting in many ways, because our politics and the media that covers it is often focused on the question of endorsements.  STEWART: Right. MAMDANI: And it is part of what gave Cuomo the sense of inevitability in the primary. He just seemed to pick up all of these different endorsements. And I think what we showed in many ways was that the days of endorsements deciding elections, those days have come to the end. It is the people who built up a campaign. And, you know, I appreciate having Congressman Jeffries, his endorsement, and I appreciate more than that when we have spoken, it's been about, how do we deliver for our shared constituents?  STEWART: Right. No! No!"

Levin: Today’s Congress Is an Example of Why FDR Was Given Trade Deal Authority in 1934

In 1934, Congress gave famed Democrat President Franklin Roosevelt the authority to adjust tariff rates without its approval so that presidents could deal with times just like those President Donald Trump faces today, Constitutional Scholar Mark Levin explained Sunday. “Look, you don’t have to love tariffs. You might not even like tariffs,” but they’ve been used by Democrat and Republicans alike since the country’s founding, Host Levin noted Sunday in the latest episode of “Life, Liberty and Levin,” presenting a list of all the presidents who have wielded tariffs: “Tariffs were used by presidents of every party in every period of American history to try and give a breather to allow our industries to develop, because other countries, in many respects, were taking advantage of our country, as Donald Trump talks about all the time.” “The president, under Article 2 [of the U.S. Constitution], is in charge of foreign policy – that includes trade,” Levin said, going on to cite specific authority Congress granted Pres. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR): “In 1934, Congress passed the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act, which gave President Franklin Roosevelt the ability to change tariff rates by fifty percent and negotiate bilateral trade agreements without additional approval from Congress.” “Why? Well, you look at Congress right now,” Levin explained: “The Democrats closed the government. The Republicans have very small majorities. The Framers understood this. This is why, in national security and foreign policy issues, the president is commander-in-chief – with some input from Congress, no question. “But, quick decisions, emergency decisions, fundamental decisions, you have an executive branch. Congress still have the power to pass legislation, has the power of the budget to withhold monies for certain acts by the executive branch – but, sometimes, decisions have to be made.” “So, to me, there was no non-delegation issue, this 1934 act, or to the Supreme Court,” Levin concluded. The Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act (RTAA) gave FDR the unilateral authority to adjust tariff rates, as well as to negotiate bilateral trade agreements. Between 1934 and 1939, Roosevelt used his RTAA authority to obtain trade agreements with 19 countries, helping the U.S. recover economically from the Great Depression. “Through the RTAA, Congress set the framework for international trade negotiations and empowered the President to exert American leadership in the international trading system,” the United States Trade Representative explains: “The RTAA served as an integral step in America’s transition from economic crisis to global leadership.  FDR believed that a complete and permanent recovery depended on strengthened international trade to increase domestic growth and demand.”

ABC, CBS’s Nightlies OMIT Government Worker Union's Call to End The Shutdown

With The Great East Wing Calamity Cycle apparently behind us (zero seconds on ABC, CBS, NBC’s 10/27 nightly newscasts), one would think that the legacy networks would move off of their Democrat-coded shutdown coverage and relay increasing pressure in favor of the clean Continuing Resolution languishing before the Senate. Alas, this was not the case. The new Democrat pressure comes via the American Federation of Government Employees, the nation largest government worker union, which endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024. Per NBC News: The country’s largest union representing federal workers is calling for lawmakers to pass a short-term spending measure to immediately end the government shutdown, urging Democrats to abandon their current position and join Republicans in supporting a stopgap solution. “Both political parties have made their point, and still there is no clear end in sight,” American Federation of Government Employees President Everett Kelley wrote in a statement first shared with NBC News. “It’s time to pass a clean continuing resolution and end this shutdown today. No half measures, and no gamesmanship.” This is a significant piece of pressure on the Democrats and yet, no mention on the nightlies. Watch ABC’s report in its entirety, note its continued Dem-coding, and note the major omission: ABC WORLD NEWS TONIGHT 10/27/25 6:38 PM DAVID MUIR: Tonight, Day 27 now of the government shutdown. Tens of thousands going without pay, including air traffic controllers. They’re now setting up food banks at the airport. Jay O'Brien on The Hill for us. O'BRIEN: Tonight, tens of millions of Americans feeling the pain of this 27-day-long government shutdown like never before. Air traffic controller shortages triggering delays in Los Angeles and a ground stop in Austin. More and more air traffic controllers calling out sick, forced to work without pay.  TSA WORKER: All right. Drive safe. Have a good day. O’BRIEN: Food pantries now popping up at airports for struggling federal employees. TSA WORKER: We have a food bank. O’BRIEN: For TSA workers. That's got to be alarming to see. TSA WORKER: It's- it’s sad. It's unfortunate because they have to go to work. And they're not being paid. And they're doing a critical safety function for all of us. O'BRIEN: And tonight, fears of a looming hunger crisis as S.N.A.P. food assistance, a life line for roughly 42 million low-income Americans, is set to run out by the end of this week. In Michigan, Simone Wilks, a single mom of two young boys, worries how her family will get by without federal food assistance. SIMONE WILKS: My stomach dropped because I'm like, I’m already struggling. I'm already stretching food. It has been days where the kids will eat and I'll just survive off water. You know, because that's what I’ll have to do in November. O'BRIEN: At this pop-up kitchen serving unpaid federal workers in Washington, D.C., we met dozens fearful the shutdown could drag on for weeks. You don't have a lot of faith in congress to end this? FEDERAL WORKER: I do not, as much as I would hope that they would end it, I don't see it ending anytime soon. O'BRIEN: David, the Senate returned to Washington tonight, but there's no deal in sight to end this shutdown. Meantime, the House of Representatives is out on recess for the fifth straight week by order of the Speaker. Remember, Members of Congress by law are still paid even when the government is shut down. David. MUIR: Jay O’Brien live up on The Hill for us. Jay, thank you. Those TSA employees that Jay O’Brien interviewed? They are represented by the AFGE. And yet, there was no mention of the union call for an end to the shutdown anywhere to be seen. Instead, ABC runs a Democrat-coded item centered on hardship and suffering, intended to shift blame away from Senate Democrats who voted to shut the government down in the first place. For added emotional manipulation, there is the bit with the SNAP recipient under duress. CBS’s item by Caitlin Huey-Burns runs along similar lines- centered on federal employees and SNAP recipients, with no mention of the AFGE. This is a prime case of anti-news- wherein the public is given bits and pieces of narrative as the networks omit key details that might shift their thinking on any given issue. In other words, propaganda. Same as always. For the record, NBC ran no item on the shutdown. However, they were the only legacy nightly to cover the deranged bounty, advertised on TikTok, on Attorney General Pam Bondi’s head. Which CBS and ABC also omitted. Click “expand” to view the aforementioned report in its entirety, as aired on the CBS Evening News on Monday, October 28th, 2025: JOHN DICKERSON: The dark clouds of the government shutdown are spreading. MAURICE DuBOIS: It is now day 27, no negotiations are scheduled and Caitlin Huey-Burns reports federal workers and people who depend on government help are about to feel more pain. CAITLIN HUEY-BURNS: The turbulence of the government shutdown is getting worse. Many air traffic controllers will miss their first full paycheck tomorrow and flight disruptions are rising. More than 8800 lights were delayed nationwide yesterday. Landing in Washington, D.C., World Central Kitchen, Jose Andres' food charity often deployed to war zones and natural disasters, today it provided free meals for furloughed federal employee. But one free meal won't help the more than 40 million Americans, 1 in 8, who rely on federal food assistance. The USDA declared that “the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 1st.” Erin Anis never thought she’d need SNAP benefits. But three bouts of cancer and a double knee replacement left her unable to work.  Having those resources, what does it mean for your life? ERIN ANIS: Everything. It means everything to me. HUEY-BURNS: What exactly do you think you would need you're going to do? ANIS: I will have to ask my children to help me. That's an awful feeling. HUEY-BURNS: How so? ANIS: For them to have to help me. It's tough to think about sometimes. HUEY-BURNS: She will also turn to her local food pantry. Shila Ulrich is CEO of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, and says she expects demand to increase. SHILA ULRICH: People are scared. It’s a moment where people don't know and  understand what is about to happen, whether or not they will get those benefits should the government open back up or when. HUEY-BURNS: Anis says she just wants lawmakers to talk to each other and find a solution.  ANIS: This should not be a political issue. This should be a human privilege to be fed. HUEY-BURNS: And the USDA says it will not tap into a contingency fund to pay for SNAP benefits because they say that's reserved for things like natural disasters. Now- there is a Republican proposal in the Senate to help pay for this program but, John and Maurice, it's unclear whether and when that would get a vote. DICKERSON: Caitlin Huey-Burns, thank you so much.

Shocking texts allegedly reveal sinister plan by teacher and her boyfriend to groom, sex traffic her student

Shocking text messages allegedly have revealed a sinister plan by a Nebraska high school teacher and her boyfriend to groom and sex traffic her 16-year-old student.Police said 36-year-old Elizabeth Jamie Love and her boyfriend, 42-year-old Jarid "Jack" Krause, were arrested Friday.'It's a huge risk. We might not find the right girl for us.'The Phelps County Attorney’s Office charged both suspects with one count of sex trafficking of a minor (a Class IB Felony). Love also was hit with a charge of sexual grooming by a school employee (a Class IV Felony). If convicted, Love and Krause face up to life in prison and a lifetime on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.Love and Krause were booked into the Phelps County Jail and held on bonds of $250,000 cash each, police stated. Police noted that Love had been a transition coordinator and educator in the Educational Service Unit No. 11 for several years, during which she traveled to as many as 15 schools in the south-central part of Nebraska. The Holdrege Police Department said in a statement, "The investigation into Ms. Love and Mr. Krause began after a current high school student, whom Ms. Love was instructing through her employment as a transition coordinator and teacher in ESU-11, reported inappropriate interactions with the couple over the past few weeks."RELATED: Ex-middle school teacher — guilty of 21 counts of sex crimes against daughter's underage babysitter — learns her fate Police said the investigation began Oct. 14 after reports of possible sex abuse of a 16-year-old student. Authorities said Love communicated with the teen through text messages, Facebook Messenger, and non-school email addresses.Citing the arrest affidavit, People magazine reported that the alleged victim is a girl who told investigators she and Love "developed a close relationship, which has evolved into talking about things going on in [her] life beyond the normal scope of a speech therapist/educator."The alleged victim said she had worked with Love since she was in seventh grade, according to the affidavit. Court documents said the teen told investigators she considered moving into Love's home in Holdrege on weekdays so she could attend a school in another district. The student said she was in Love's car in August when Love had a phone conversation with Krause, the affidavit stated. During the phone call, Krause said he wanted to have sex with Love, and Love later told the student she "would be willing to share" Krause, according to the arrest affidavit. The student said she was supposed to attend the state fair with Love that day, but the conversation made her so "uncomfortable" that she called her aunt to pick her up, court documents said.During an alleged incident on Oct. 11, Love picked up the teen from her home and took her to Love's house, court documents said.People magazine reported, "The student alleged that while she was there, Krause led her to an upstairs bedroom and made a request she believed was for sex."'We'll find the girl that appreciates us for what we are and provide. Someone who sees the value of our family and one that loves us both more than anything.'The outlet added that the alleged victim declined Krause's advances and asked to leave. The affidavit said the student left the house and began walking home until Love picked up the teen in a car and drove the alleged victim home.Nebraska-TV reported, "The affidavit said the girl told investigators Love apologized to her, told her not to tell anyone, and gave her $100 in $20 increments."When police later interviewed Love, the educator insisted the payments were not intended as "hush money" but rather a gift to help the girl purchase a new cell phone, according to court documents. Citing text messages revealed in the affidavit, People magazine reported that Love and Krause "spoke about the student as early as April, before seemingly planning to proposition the student for sex in August" and to determine "if she's not feeling it." The affidavit also said the couple discussed developing a "code phrase" to use that would "help [Love] know if she's interested or not."Another text message revealed in the affidavit indicated Love told Krause she hoped the proposition "works out" and added that "if she doesn't want to, then I'll keep looking."Krause messaged Love about "[finding] our person," according to the affidavit."We'll find the girl that appreciates us for what we are and provide. Someone who sees the value of our family and one that loves us both more than anything," Krause wrote to Love, according to court documents. The affidavit claimed Love then asked Krause if they should "start the paperwork for foster care."According to court documents, Krause replied, "Do you think it's time for that? It's a huge risk. We might not find the right girl for us."The arrest affidavit said Love responded, "I know. But I also don't have to take them all. Even though I want to. Haha."ESU-11 administrator John Poppert told Blaze News that Love was placed on administrative leave "as soon as the ESU learned of the allegations.""The ESU has cooperated fully with the Holdrege Police Department investigation," Poppert noted. "The administration also contacted the ESU’s attorney. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement, and we thank them for their efforts in this matter."During the investigation, the Holdrege Police Department received assistance from the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, Kearney Police Department, Minden Police Department, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Nebraska Department of Justice.Police said investigators have yet to find any evidence that Love had inappropriate interactions with other current or former students. The investigation is ongoing.Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Holdrege Police Department at 308-995-4407.The Holdrege Police Department and the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to Blaze News' request for comment.
