After a rogue judge let two teenagers who brutally beat former DOGE employee Edward Coristine — a.k.a. ‘Big Balls’ — off the hook, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro is stepping in. She just announced federal charges against two adult suspects in the gruesome assault. 19-year-old Laurence Cotton-Powell and 18-year-old Anthony Taylor are now facing multiple charges, including assault and robbery. Edward Coristine, a 19-year-old Doge person who was working in the administration. “On April 3rd of this year, Lawrence Powell was sentenced for a felony attempted robbery. A judge sitting in the criminal part in superior court with no criminal background, made a decision to give Powell probation in spite of his conviction on a felony attempted robbery. Within 10 days he’s at it again with Ethan Levine and Edward Corstein.” A left-wing, activist judge has already let the two 15-year-old suspects off with a mere slap on the wrist, sentencing them to probation. This is utterly ridiculous, in light of everything we know about the gang of D.C. thugs. But, Pirro isn’t letting the two adult suspects off so easily. More from the Washington Examiner: Pirro named 19-year-old Laurence Cotton-Powell and 18-year-old Anthony Taylor as two of the alleged suspects in the August attack in a press conference Monday afternoon. Coristine’s assault brought crime in Washington, D.C., under a microscope, with President Donald Trump using the incident as part of his justification for declaring a crime emergency in the district. Last week, a district family court gave probation to two 15-year-olds who each pleaded guilty to their involvement in Coristine’s assault. The minors received no jail time. Pirro emphasized that Cotton-Powell had multiple criminal violations before the Coristine assault. Pirro railed against the district’s superior court for granting Cotton-Powell probation when he was sentenced for felony attempted robbery. “So, after a felony of attempted robbery, conviction, after a violation of probation, after a second crime; after a second conviction, after no compliance with [the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency]: the judges say, ‘Do better,’ and they let him go. And guess what? Within 10 days, he’s at it again with Ethan Levine and Edward Coristine,” Pirro said, referring to Cotton-Powell. Cotton-Powell was arrested in October 2024 on robbery charges, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Pirro said her office is not aware of any criminal history for Taylor. Ethan Levine was the victim of a separate assault that happened on the same night within the area of Coristine’s assult. Pirro stood between images of Levine and Coristine during her remarks at the press conference and said Cotton-Powell and Taylor are suspects in both attacks. The Hill reported: Demolition crews started the process of tearing down part of the White House East Wing on Monday to begin construction on President Trump’s planned ballroom. “It just started today, so that’s good luck,” the president said during an event in the East Room hosting theLouisiana State University (LSU) and LSU Shreveport national championship baseball teams Trump noted that there will be a knockout panel behind where he delivered the remarks in the East Room that will go into the new ballroom. “I don’t think it will be topped,” the president said, referring to the project. Videos and pictures of the demolition surfaced earlier on Monday. The Washington Post reported members of the Secret Service and others watched the demolition from the steps of the Treasury Department. The activity could reportedly be heard on the White House campus. The ballroom’s construction is slated to cost $200 million. The White House has said the 90,000 square foot event space would be constructed next to where the East Wing is located. It historically has served as a space for first ladies and members of their staff. The administration’s goal is to complete the ballroom before Trump’s second term wraps in 2029. Specifically, President Trump will be lengthening the East Wing in order to make space at the White House for the ballroom. Its design draws inspiration from beautiful Mar-a-Lago. The New York Post has more details: The East Wing, constructed in its current form in 1942, with a single-story predecessor dating to 1902, is one of the newest parts of the White House complex. The wing historically has housed the first lady’s offices and sits atop a bomb shelter. Trump is significantly lengthening the East Wing to the south to accommodate the new ballroom — with a number of trees already chopped down to make way for the addition. The idea for a new ballroom was inspired by Trump’s own massive gold-gilded ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, which can accomodate major events, including his most recent campaign launch. The East Room currently is the largest event space at the White House and can seat about 200 — or many more if standing squashed closely together, as often is the case for cultural heritage parties. “We’re gonna have a phenomenal ballroom, this is gonna be one of the best anywhere in the world.
