The following article includes graphic language and images posted by the man identified by authorities as the suspect in a Minneapolis, Minnesota attack on a Catholic school.  — The man who shot and killed two Catholic children and injured 17 other people at a Minneapolis Catholic school has been identified by authorities as “Robin Westman,” a transgender-identifying 23-year-old who posted radical videos in the hour before his attack. This individual identified as a woman and changed his name from Robert Westman to Robin Westman in 2020, as The Washington Free Beacon’s Peter Hassan reported. Court filings show that Westman’s mother signed off on the name change, since her son was a minor, and the documents state that Westman “identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification.” On Wednesday morning, around 8:30 am, Westman fired through the windows of the Annunciation Catholic School’s church in Minneapolis as students attended daily mass on their first day of school. He killed two children, ages 8 and 10, injuring 17 others before he shot himself in the parking lot, according to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara. (Photo by Stephen Maturen/Getty Images) Video footage obtained by The Daily Wire shows that YouTube user “Robin W” posted a disturbing video on Wednesday morning with the caption, “so long and thanks for all the fish.” That video shows an individual thumbing through a notebook filled with Russian and English journal entries, as well as pictures of guns, diagrams of his attacks, and a transgender “defend equality” flag sticker. Throughout the video, he mutters, whispers, and giggles in a disturbing fashion. As the video concludes, Westman appears to thumb through the pages of his notebook as he whispers, “I can’t deal with this anymore … I can’t do this anymore … I have to go, I have to go…” Here’s part of the chilling video that “Robin W” posted this morning, before it was removed by YouTube, obtained by @realDailyWire. He then whimpers and mutters twice in a whisper, “My family. My family,” as he pans to a page that concludes, “The End,” and says, “I’m so sorry.” He shows his room, whispering, “I’m all packed up … I don’t know what else to say. It’s over. It’s over. It’s all over.” He then mutters something about whether he will make it “to tomorrow,” before whispering, “Pray for me, I love you all.” This was just one of many disturbing moments in the videos posted to the account, which YouTube removed on Wednesday afternoon with the help of the FBI, O’Hara confirmed. On Wednesday afternoon, FBI Director Kash Patel shared that the FBI is “investigating this shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics.” “There were 2 fatalities, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old,” he said. “In addition, 14 children and 3 adults were injured. The shooter has been identified as Robin Westman, a male born as Robert Westman. Hasson (@peterjhasson) August 27, 2025 Westman was carrying a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, and killed himself after firing “dozens of rounds” at innocent children, according to O’Hara. Police believe the shooter fired all three weapons, and said that he barricaded the students and staff in the church by placing a wooden plank against some of the side doors, in an attempt to prevent them from fleeing. One adult and six children are in critical condition, according to the Hennepin County Medical Center, although Chief O’Hara said the children wounded in the shooting were all expected to survive. Westman is the second trans-identifying killer to target school children in recent years. A trans-identifying shooter killed three children and three adults at Covenant Christian School in Nashville in March 2023. President Joe Biden’s FBI would claim that it withheld the shooter’s 100-page journal in the name of public safety, suggesting that the manifesto would lead to “conspiracy theories” and “inaccurate information.” The Tennessee Star published the shooter’s entire journal, and the writings revealed that the shooter was obsessed with ideas of transgenderism and white privilege, and frequently wrote about her autism and depression.

By Matthew Byrd | Published on August 27, 2025 Screenshot: Cineverse Comment 0 Share New Share Screenshot: Cineverse If the first trailer for Return to Silent Hill (director Christophe Gans’ return to the Silent Hill franchise) gives you strong Silent Hill 2 flashbacks, take comfort in knowing that you’re not losing your mind as you find yourself mysteriously drawn to a small town that exists at the edge of reality. Not only are the trailer’s visuals clearly intended to evoke some of the more memorable moments from the 2001 game, but the film’s creative team has made it clear that this project is essentially an adaptation of that sequel. Even the film’s synopsis is eerily close to the description of that iconic horror gaming experience: When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of his lost love, James finds a once-recognizable town and encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new, and begins to question his own sanity. In many ways, it makes perfect sense to base a new Silent Hill movie on Silent Hill 2. In case you didn’t know, Silent Hill 2 is considered to be a masterpiece of horror gaming that challenged the core concepts of video game storytelling in ways that have rarely been replicated. The game’s minimalist, environment-driven narrative gets under your skin with a pure form of psychological horror bolstered by unique interactive concepts. Often, the game will “read” your actions and base beats of its story on what it believes you will fear most and its analysis of the psychology behind your actions. It may just be the greatest video game story ever told, and it introduced a few concepts that have since become staples of the Silent Hill franchise (most notably the very Hellraiser-coded creature known as Pyramid Head). An excellent remake of Silent Hill 2 released just last year only proved the game’s longevity and versatility. Fans have long asked for a Silent Hill adaptation that more closely follows that game, and it’s kind of amazing that it’s taken this long for us to get one. Yet, there are a couple of things about Return to Silent Hill‘s use of that source material that feel a bit… odd at the outset. First off, Christophe Gans (referred to in the trailer as “visionary director Christophe Gans”) previously directed 2006’s Silent Hill: a movie that drew praise in many circles for doing its own thing rather than staying absolutely true to the source material. It’s interesting to see Gans and crew tout the authenticity of this movie when he previously found surprising success going his own way. It will certainly be interesting to see how he interprets material that is, in many ways, not intended to be strictly interpreted. And that may just be the biggest question mark about this project at the moment. Silent Hill 2 is a notoriously complex beast that will seemingly be quite difficult to translate to a medium that can’t quite replicate the interactive elements at the heart of its story. It should also be noted that Gans has previously made some rather odd comments about his views of the Silent Hill franchise, including his assertion that the first film had to have a female protagonist because the characters in the game act very “motherly” by doing things like crying and caring for children. Without diving too deep into those thoughts, let’s just say that they represent an unconventional view of the material. After an illegal immigrant truck driver killed three in a Florida traffic crash, the Trump administration plans to crack down on trucking companies who hire non-English speakers, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy told The Daily Signal.  Harjinder Singh, the illegal immigrant charged in the killing of three people in an Aug. 12 car crash on the Florida Turnpike, answered just two of 12 questions correctly when being tested for English language proficiency by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.  Duffy is holding blue states who allowed Singh to obtain and maintain a commercial driver’s license accountable.  But he’s also looking into ways to hold to account trucking companies that hire drivers who don’t speak English in violation of federal law.  “We are going to use every tool available to us to make sure those who violated our rules, the law, are held to account,” he said in response to a question from The Daily Signal aboard the new NextGen Acela train.  .@SecDuffy is unpacking how to punish trucking companies who hire non English speakers, he told @DailySignal.“We are going to use every tool available to us to make sure those who violated our rules, the law, are held to account.” He said this after an illegal immigrant truck… pic.twitter.com/TNIwYo1mIM— Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell (@TheElizMitchell) August 27, 2025 The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, a division of the Transportation Department, has had long-standing English-language proficiency requirements.  Under Duffy’s May 20 guidance, commercial motor vehicle drivers who don’t comply with the English-language proficiency requirements will be placed out of service. Within the first 30 days of the guidance being in effect, 1,500 commercial drivers were taken out of service.  Duffy said the Transportation Department is working to “unpack” what’s going on with trucking companies to “make sure that we can have better rules in place.”  Americans on the road should feel safe, which isn’t possible when some truck drivers can’t read English-language road signs, Deputy Transportation Secretary Steve Bradbury told The Daily Signal.  “You should expect that anyone who’s driving an 80,000-pound rig, that they are well-qualified, they’re well-licensed, and every aspect of the law was followed before they got that license,” he said.  Another threat on the roads is violation of cabotage laws, Duffy said, which prohibit foreign-based carriers from commuting into the U.S., dropping off a load, and then picking up a new domestic load for delivery within the U.S. “What’s happening now is, those truckers are picking up 1, 2, 3, 4, or more stops in our country,” Duffy said. “It’s illegal, and we’re unpacking that as well, but we are going to use every tool available to us to make sure those who are violating the law are held to account,” Duffy said.  The post Duffy Vows to ‘Use Every Tool Available’ to Hold to Account Trucking Companies Who Hire Illegal Drivers appeared first on The Daily Signal.

The mayor also doubled down on support for local control over the city. “What we want is local control of our public safety ecosystem, and that includes deployment of officers. And we want federal officers that work in coordination with us—DEA, ATF, FBI—who, as the chief just mentioned, work with us on major crime issues all the time, and our officers are familiar with working with them, and they have been helpful in the field,” the mayor said.
