Work is a gift from God. Sometimes you have to remind yourself of that in this fallen world, where work can feel stressful and frustrating. In the Garden of Eden, before sin entered the world, God gave Adam the responsibility of working to take care of the garden (Genesis 2:15). This shows that work is intended to be good. God meant work to be a blessing, not a burden. Often, the way God provides for you is by giving you abilities and opportunities to work and earn an income to buy what you need. But work is much more than a way to earn money. It’s also an important way for you to express your creativity and contribute to the world by fulfilling your purpose. No matter what kind of work you do, your work is sacred when you work faithfully to thank God for his faithfulness to you.
