It’s taken Clair Obscur Expedition 33 just one day to hit a huge sales milestone

I really didn’t expect at the start of this week that anything would come close to drawing my attention away from the Oblivion Remaster. Yet here I am, sitting here with my jaw on the floor at just how big the launch of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has been. The debut game from French studio Sandfall Interactive, this gorgeous turn-based RPG is firmly in the conversation for Game of the Year - but great quality doesn’t always translate into great sales. However, Sandfall appears to have achieved both. Despite its inclusion on Xbox and PC Game Pass, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has already hit a major sales milestone, just one day after it launched. Nintendo Switch 2 May Be History's Biggest Console Launch

The last time Nintendo launched a sequel console, it didn't do so hot. The Wii U is one of the biggest names in "console flops", so when the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed, it had a handful of detractors.

How to use dialogue-only subtitles on Netflix, and why you should

How to use dialogue-only subtitles on Netflix, and why you should

Regardless of what streaming service I might use, I don’t hit play on a movie or TV show until I’ve enabled subtitles, even if I understand the language. It’s not just that I suffer from mild hearing loss. Volume settings and the actual audio quality of some titles get in the way of hearing what the characters are saying. The dialogue is extremely important, and I don’t want to keep rewinding to figure out what they said. That means I’m just like about fifty percent of Americans who watch content with subtitles most of the time, a statistic that Netflix quoted in its newest feature announcement. The streamer just introduced a new subtitle option that many people will appreciate, including me. Netflix will start showing dialogue-only subtitle options on some shows. This will probably replace the current captioning option most of us use, which covers all the sounds in a movie or TV show, not just the lines spoken by the characters. Continue reading... Apple found a clever new way to promote Genmoji

Apple found a clever new way to promote Genmoji

Amid growing controversies surrounding Apple Intelligence, Apple is adjusting how it promotes its AI features around the globe. In New York City, the company recently replaced billboards for Genmoji with ads spotlighting the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera capabilities. On its website, Apple has also subtly reworked the language around Apple Intelligence, now stating its devices are “Built for” the platform. But while Apple is dialing back Genmoji promotions in the US, Brazil just received a one-of-a-kind campaign that’s as unexpected as it is local. In Varginha, a small city in the countryside of Minas Gerais, best known for an alleged alien encounter in 1996, Apple unveiled a billboard with the slogan “Você imagina. O Genmoji cria.” It translates to "You imagine it. Genmoji creates it." The ad features a custom Genmoji inspired by none other than Varginha’s infamous ET. According to Apple Brazil, Genmoji is being promoted globally, but Varginha is the only city to receive a custom figure honoring its local lore. The campaign celebrates Genmoji’s expanded accessibility in the country, following Apple Intelligence’s recent support for Brazilian Portuguese. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5pg9sywQnE For those unfamiliar with the story: In 1996, three residents of Varginha claimed to have seen a strange creature with red eyes. The incident made international headlines and turned the city into a hotspot for UFO enthusiasts and meme culture alike. Even Brazilians tend to treat the story skeptically, but we embrace the hype, memes, and alien pride that came with it. Apple’s billboard is cleverly placed near a park commemorating the alleged extraterrestrial sighting, tying the tech to the town’s quirky legacy. Genmoji is one of several features within Apple Intelligence, which also includes Writing Tools, Summarize, ChatGPT integration, Image Playground, and more. To use Genmoji, open the emoji tab in iMessage, select the Genmoji option, and describe the figure you want to create. Apple will generate a few playful options for you to try out.
