Line a puff pastry with hot dog pieces for a mouthwatering dish that’s sure to impress

The culinary world of food is one that is filled with wonder. Knowing how to craft taste-bud arousing dishes requires special attention to detail and a desire to satisfy at every bite. The artistic professionalism of a cook goes beyond the act of cooking itself and is revered in the recipe book instead. It is... This Nigerian farmer is helping curb world hunger by growing crops in the air

Hunger is a very real problem around the globe. This year, almost 7 million people have died of hunger already. Why do people still die of hunger when there’s more than enough food in the world? Well, considering that there are places in the world where basic needs like housing and clean, drinkable water are... Hegseth Sends Marines to Augment National Guard to Quell L.A. Riots

Troops from the California National Guard have arrived in Los Angeles as rioting continues there. The primary role of some 2,000 National Guard troops President Donald Trump pledged to deploy is the protection of federal property and federal employees.   The National Guard troops “may perform those military protective activities that the Secretary of Defense determines are reasonably necessary to ensure the protection and safety of Federal personnel and property,” the White House explained as it announced the deployment of the troops.  In addition to the National Guard troops, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced Monday evening that he would be sending 700 active-duty Marines to Los Angeles “to restore order.” Due to increased threats to federal law enforcement officers and federal buildings, approximately 700 active-duty U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton are being deployed to Los Angeles to restore order. We have an obligation to defend federal law enforcement officers – even if Gavin…— Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth (@SecDef) June 9, 2025 California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass criticized the president’s action, and California state Attorney General Rob Bonta on Monday called it “unnecessary, counterproductive, and unlawful.” While the role of National Guard troops is somewhat limited to protecting federal property, Julio Rosas, a former Marine Corps reservist and author of “Fiery But Mostly Peaceful,” says the presence of the federal troops frees local law enforcement to focus on keeping the peace and “puts manpower back into the streets.”   Trump reaffirmed his commitment to send National Guard troops to Los Angeles on Monday, writing on Truth Social, “We made a great decision in sending the National Guard to deal with the violent, instigated riots in California. If we had not done so, Los Angeles would have been completely obliterated.”   Trump sharply criticized California Gov. Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, writing in the post that the two Democrats should be thanking him for sending the troops.   Both Newsom and Bass have been critical of Trump’s action to deploy the National Guard on his own authority and without their request. But Cully Stimson, a senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation, says the president does have the authority to federalize National Guard troops, pointing to an old memo from the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel.   The president has “inherent authority to use troops for the protection of federal property and federal functions,” according to the memo issued in 1971.   Rosas, a national correspondent for The Blaze, arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday night and estimates a couple hundred protesters were on the streets. After covering many of the riots in cities across America during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, Rosas says the rioters are “running the same playbook” he saw five years ago. “They’re overreacting to something,” Rosas said of the rioters, who began demonstrating Friday in response to Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations targeting illegal aliens in the city.   The rioters become “violence, so naturally authorities respond,” he said, adding that then rioters complain about the response from law enforcement and claim that police are “’being too violent’ or ‘that it’s unjust,’ or you know, whatever, bull—-.” “This is a riot. It’s not mostly peaceful,” he added. Rosas shared footage early Monday morning of rioters pulling a dumpster fire into the street and reported that law enforcement is using rubber bullets against violent rioters.   Anti-ICE rioters in LA started a dumpster fire and pushed it into the street. Some in the crowd are adding stuff to keep the fire going. pic.twitter.com/pn439EkF5K— Julio Rosas (@Julio_Rosas11) June 9, 2025 The post Hegseth Sends Marines to Augment National Guard to Quell L.A. 10 Things I Saw at Washington’s WorldPride Parade

Washington, D.C., was host of the “WorldPride” Parade on Saturday. Here are some of the people and things I witnessed as I covered the event for The Daily Signal. 1. Corporate Presence Many companies in the hospitality or travel industries had floats in the parade. Some of these companies included United Airlines, Hyatt Hotels, and E-scooter sharing company Lime Micromobility. 2. Different Countries Represented This year’s parade marked the 50-year anniversary of gay pride events in the city, with a “WorldPride” theme. Floats were decorated to represent many countries, including Iran, which practices Sharia law, under which homosexuality is illegal. Other countries included China, Switzerland, and Norway. 3. Children Participating Many children were involved in the parade, often seen handing out LGBTQ paraphernalia to members of the crowd. 4. ‘Furries’ Many marchers appeared to dress up like animals, some with tails, masks, and claws. Others wore animal ears with no clothing except leather straps. 5. Drag Queens Individuals dressed in “drag” costumes appeared in the parade as well as in the crowd. 6. Police and Firefighters Members of the police force and fire departments appeared in the parade, marching with flags or driving fire trucks along the parade path in support. 7. Anti-Trump Flags, Banners, and Signs Parade attendees walked with props to make their disdain for President Donald Trump clear, often with obscenities printed on them. 8. Local Groups Local government agencies like the Department of Health as well as representatives from the National Education Association walked with signs or rode on floats. 9. Obscene Costumes Many people at the parade were scantily clad, with some wearing no clothing except “Speedos.” Others wore outfits boasting rainbow colors, sparkles, skirts, and other designs. Some photos could not be included here. 10. Religious Groups Some local Christian churches showed support for the LGBTQ community, with church members participating in the parade or with signs planted at the churches along the parade path.   All Photos: WorldPride Parade, Washington, D.C., June 7, 2025. Glenn Beck reveals the TRUTH behind LA’s 'Mad Max' riots and media cover-up

Last weekend, Los Angeles went up in flames as violent anti-ICE protests erupted across the city, prompting President Trump to deploy 2,000 National Guard troops. Like deja vu, the mainstream media is orchestrating a Summer of Rage 2.0 cover-up campaign, claiming the protests are “mostly peaceful,” even as cars are set ablaze and concrete slabs are hurled at police officers and federal agents. On the latest episode of “The Glenn Beck Program,” Glenn reacted to the media’s whitewashing and shared the truth about what’s really going on in L.A. Comparing footage of the protests to “an audition reel for 'Mad Max Fury Road,'” Glenn recounts “a guy in black block gear just yeeting a concrete slab at federal agents,” “a dude in a Che Guevara crop top trying to set a police car on fire,” and a “cloud of tear gas” engulfing the crowd. He compares the media’s “mostly peaceful” narrative to saying, “The Titanic mostly floated except for that little part at the end when it didn't.”The media is also claiming that the protests are “spontaneous and grassroots” when protesters’ professionally printed signs that read “printed” and “paid for by” the Party for Socialism and Liberation tell a wildly different story. And even though rioters wave flags from all the “dirt bag communist countries that are failing and the terrorist states,” news anchors continue to portray them as “terrified everyday Americans.”The truth?“Seventy-five percent of the spontaneous rage fest [was] funded by tax dollars.”“All the politicians [who] are cheering” for these L.A. protests” are “the same people that spent the summer of 2020 letting your city burn down,” “while everybody on CNN was talking about hope and healing,” says Glenn. “This is communism. This is somebody trying to overthrow the United States of America."“This all started apparently because we were going after these poor illegals that are here just because they're poor and they're just looking for a better life,” says Glenn sarcastically.Except ICE’s list of arrests paints a different picture.Of the 100+ people arrested during the immigration raids in Los Angeles over the weekend, the majority had criminal records. Take Rolando Enriquez, a 55-year-old Filipino national, as an example. His criminal history includes California convictions for theft, assault, burglary, and rape, specifically for sexual penetration with a foreign object and assault to commit rape. There’s also Jose Gregorio Medranda Ortiz, the Ecuadorian national, whose criminal history includes a conviction for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.Victor Mendoza-Aguilar, a 32-year-old Mexican national with convictions in Pasadena, California, for possessing unlawful paraphernalia, possessing controlled substances, assault with a deadly weapon, and obstructing a public officer, was another who was arrested in the raids. The list of illegal immigrants with egregious criminal records nabbed by ICE over the weekend goes on and on.And yet, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is “deeply angered” by the arrests.“These tactics sow terror in our communities and disrupt basic principles of safety in our city. My Office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organizations. We will not stand for this,” she said in a statement released on June 6.“You've just taken the rapists off the streets ... but no, no, no, that's sowing terror in the streets,” scoffs Glenn.California Governor Gavin Newsom’s response was equally pathetic. Yesterday, he posted the following to X: — (@) The idea of “staying peaceful,” however, is laughable when you consider the video footage that’s emerged capturing protesters hurtling rocks at law enforcement and setting vehicles on fire.To see the footage and hear more of Glenn’s analysis, watch the video above.Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling, thought-provoking analysis, and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.
