WATCH: Sierra Ferrell Surprises AT&T Stadium With Joe Jonas For Duet Of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One”
This is your sign… never skip the opening acts.
Last night, Sierra Ferrell, Jelly Roll, and Post Malone brought the house down in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium. The trio has been all over the nation for their Big A** Stadium tour, and for Post Malone, I am sure this hometown show was beyond special.
However, Malone was not the only North Texas native in the house last night. Before the “I Had Some Help” singer took the stage, there was a guest appearance during the night’s first act. Sierra Ferrell kicked off the show and brought out Joe Jonas to help her cover a country classic: Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One.”
The song by Twain was written and recorded in 1997 by her and her then-husband and producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange. Lange helped Twain pen the tender love song after their relationship faced criticism from the public, and the single, which appeared on her third studio record, was a public proclamation and celebration of their love for one another. The song was sent to pop radio in 1998 and was a huge hit; even today, music critics still praise the romantic lyrics that appeal to pop and country music lovers.
Sierra Ferrell is known for covering a wide variety of songs and nailing each one. She can now add “You’re Still The One” to the list as a nearly flawless cover. Adding a male vocalist adds depth to the song with an additional perspective. Jonas honestly knocked this duet out of the park.
I was a little skeptical when I woke up and saw that this crossover happened during her set, but their voices paired so well together, leading to beautiful harmonies and an overall angelic-like performance.
You never know what artist you’ll discover or what guest you might see during a show’s opening act, and Sierra Ferrell is not one you want to skip in general, so anyone who missed this should have major regret today.
Check it out.

This is not Joe Jonas’ first time dipping his toe into the country realm. Earlier this year, the “Burnin’ Up” singer released a country duet with Ashley Cooke and was recently spotted at Bluebird Cafe in Nashville for a surprise performance ahead of his new album’s release. Could he be the next pop-gone-country star? Given that Sierra Ferrell does not play the radio game, his teaming up with her for a performance feels like he’s taking serious steps to acclimate himself with talents that country fans are loving.
Ed Sheeran also recently spoke out on Call Her Daddy that he hopes to make the crossover one day, but is taking his time to do it right and fully immerse himself in country music before making the genre switch.
“I’ve made country songs in the past; they’ve just never come out. I have to do it properly, and once you transition to country, you can’t transition back. Once you’re there, you’re there.”
Seems like everyone is trying to go country these days, eh? As Lainey Wilson said, “Country’s cool again.” But let’s be real… it was never not cool. The post WATCH: Sierra Ferrell Surprises AT&T Stadium With Joe Jonas For Duet Of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
