Trump to Review Cutting Government Contracts with Harvard

The Trump administration is reviewing cutting all federal government contracts with Harvard University due to concerns about antisemitism and racial discrimination, a senior White House official shared with The Daily Signal. The General Services Administration is assisting all federal agencies in a review for termination or transition of their federal government contracts with Harvard University and affiliates. “We recommend that your agency terminate for convenience each contract that it determines has failed to meet its standards, and transition to a new vendor those contracts that could be better serviced by an alternative counterparty,” a letter to government agencies says. “Going forward, we also encourage your agency to seek alternative vendors for future services where you had previously considered Harvard.” Harvard and its affiliates have more than $255.6 million in contracts, according to the Department of Education. This is the latest development in President Donald Trump’s battle with Harvard after the university refused to comply with executive orders banning diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in education. The Trump administration stripped Harvard of its ability to enroll foreign students on Friday, accusing the school of failing to heed the law. Harvard filed a lawsuit against the administration the same day in response to the Department of Homeland Security revoking the school’s certification to host international students. A federal judge on Friday issued a decision temporarily blocking this latest action against Harvard, meaning that for now, foreign students can continue attending the university.   In April, the Trump administration announced was moving to freeze $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in contracts to Harvard. The review of Harvard’s government contracts aligns with the administration’s directive that all federal contracted services uphold and advance agency strategic priorities, according to the senior White House official. “As you know, being a counterparty with the federal government comes with the deep responsibility and commitment to abide by all federal laws and ensure the safeguarding of taxpayer money,” Josh Gruenbaum, commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service within GSA, wrote in a letter to federal agencies. “As a fiduciaries to the taxpayer, the government has a duty to ensure that procurement dollars are directed to vendors and contractors who promote and champion principles of nondiscrimination and the national interest,” Gruenbaum continued. Harvard continues to engage in racial discrimination in its admissions process and in other areas, as evidenced by the Supreme Court case Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, Gruenbaum said. In Students for Fair Admissions, the Supreme Court rebuked Harvard’s policy and practice of discriminating on the basis of race. At the time, admissions rates were: 56% for African Americans; 31% for Hispanics; 15% for whites; and 13% for Asians. “Since then, troubling revelations have come to light regarding Harvard and its affiliates’ potential discriminatory hiring practices and possible violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,” Gruenbaum wrote. “Harvard is suspected of engaging in a pattern or practice of disparate treatment in hiring, promotion, compensation, and other personnel related actions.” The General Services Administration is also reviewing incidents of antisemitism at Harvard. For instance, an anti-Israel protester charged for assaulting a Jewish student was awarded a $65,000 fellowship by Harvard Law Review. Another protester who was charged served as Harvard Divinity School’s Class Marshal for commencement. “Harvard’s ongoing inaction in the face of repeated and severe harassment and targeting of its students has at times grounded day-to-day campus operations to a halt, deprived Jewish students of learning and research opportunities to which they are entitled, and profoundly alarmed the general public,” according to Gruenbaum. GSA looks forward to assisting agencies in terminating or transitioning contracts, Gruenbaum said. ‘White Supremacist Adjacent’: James Comey Exposes the Left’s Nefarious Strategy to Silence Opponents

A few weeks after his message about “86”ing President Donald Trump, former FBI Director James Comey once again revealed the Left’s nefarious strategy to silence its opponents by referring to the Republican Party as “white supremacist adjacent.” It’s not enough for the Left to cry “racism” against the GOP. No, the Left has launched a systematic approach to compare conservatives to the Ku Klux Klan and suggest they represent a terrorist threat—and James Comey is breathing oxygen into that preposterous and dangerous narrative. MSNBC host Jen Psaki asked Comey about fighting domestic terrorism, then turned to discuss the Trump administration “testing the system.” She asked if the former FBI director thinks “there are laws that should be put in place that would help better manage” various threats. Comey didn’t advocate legal changes, but he highlighted what he called “cultural impediments to doing this work.” “Let’s say you work in the FBI,” Comey began. “You know that one of the two political parties is, let me put it nicely, white supremacist adjacent—at a minimum. And so, why would you want to throw your career on that side of the line and be summoned to Capitol Hill to be asked, ‘Why are you pursuing these innocent groups?’ And so, we have a cultural impediment to working effectively that should get more attention than it does.” I think this exchange is rather revealing. You see, I remember when members of Congress called in then-FBI Director Christopher Wray to answer for a particularly notorious abuse involving “pursuing these innocent groups.” The FBI Catholic Memo The FBI’s Richmond office had written a report about “radical-traditional Catholics,” citing none other than the Southern Poverty Law Center. The SPLC gained its reputation by suing Ku Klux Klan groups into bankruptcy. That’s a noble cause, but when the SPLC ran out of Klan members to target, it began adding conservative organizations to the same “hate map” it used to expose the Klan. Now, the SPLC’s “hate map” includes conservative Christian law firms like Alliance Defending Freedom, immigration reform groups like the Federation for American Immigration Reform, parental rights groups like Moms for Liberty, and groups of doctors who oppose the Frankensteinian transgender experiments often euphemistically referred to as “gender-affirming care.” It even branded an LGB group—Gays Against Groomers—an “anti-LGBTQ hate group” because Gays Against Groomers opposes the SPLC’s transgender agenda. Critics have long slammed the SPLC for exaggerating “hate” to scare donors into ponying up cash and to silence political opponents. The SPLC has a $730 million endowment and offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands. In 2019, a former SPLC employee revealed that workers called it the “poverty palace” and called the “hate” accusations a “highly profitable scam.” For more on this, you can check out my book “Making Hate Pay: The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center.” Yet the scam seems to be paying off, and not just financially. As I wrote in my second book, “The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government,” the SPLC had a large impact in the Biden administration: advising the Justice Department and the Department of Education, getting an attorney nominated to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and getting cited by the FBI. SPLC President Margaret Huang bragged about the administration asking the SPLC for advice on combatting “domestic terrorism.” That seems darkly ironic, considering that a convicted terrorist used the SPLC “hate map” to target the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C., for an attempted mass shooting. The SPLC condemned the attack, but kept the council on the “hate map,” anyway. Does Comey really want to be taking the side of the SPLC on this? On Catholics, in particular, the SPLC has a horrific track record. When it branded the Ruth Institute—a Louisiana pro-family nonprofit—an “anti-LGBTQ hate group,” it quoted (as evidence of hate) Ruth Institute Founder Jennifer Roback Morse, who was in turn quoting the Catechism of the Catholic Church. That’s right, if the SPLC were to be consistent, it would have to put the entire Catholic Church on the “hate map.” This is the major scandal to which Comey is referring. In his mind, it is a “cultural impediment” when Republicans demand answers after the FBI cites the anti-Catholic SPLC in demonizing Catholic groups. SPLC Goes After Turning Point USA Of course, his remarks came right after the Southern Poverty Law Center branded Turning Point USA, the largest conservative youth organization in the country, an “antigovernment extremist group,” placing it on the “hate map” with Klan chapters and claiming the group supports “white Christian supremacy.” This is all part of the SPLC’s modus operandi—smearing its political and ideological opponents by association with the Klan and “white supremacy” and attempting to exile them from polite society, all while making a buck by scaring people into sending them money. The truly scary thing is that James Comey appears not to agree with Christopher Wray, who said he was “appalled” by the FBI Catholic memo. Comey seems to think the outrage over the memo was the real scandal—and that outrage revealed how the Republican Party defends “white supremacists.” Thank God he’s no longer calling the shots at the FBI. DOJ Probes Google–Character.AI Partnership Over Antitrust Concerns

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Federal investigators at the US Department of Justice have launched an inquiry into Google’s partnership with Character.AI, examining whether the arrangement may have skirted antitrust laws, according to a report published by Bloomberg on Thursday. Sources familiar with the matter told the outlet that regulators recently approached the tech giant, raising questions about the structure of its agreement with Character.AI. The focus appears to be on whether Google may have deliberately designed the partnership to avoid triggering a formal merger review process. Under the deal, signed in 2023, Google secured a non-exclusive license to use Character.AI’s large language model technology. As part of the collaboration, Google also brought on board the startup’s co-founders, Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas, both of whom previously worked at Google. A spokesperson for the company addressed the inquiry, stating, “We’re always happy to answer any questions from regulators,” and adding, “We’re excited that talent from Character.AI joined the company but we have no ownership stake and they remain a separate company.” Character.AI did not offer a response to a request for comment, and the Justice Department declined to provide any official statement on the matter. According to Bloomberg Law, the investigation is still in its preliminary phase and may not necessarily result in formal enforcement action. However, even absent a formal merger filing, the DOJ retains the authority to assess whether the arrangement could harm competition. The deal with Character.AI mirrors a broader trend among major tech players seeking strategic alliances in the fast-growing generative AI sector. Microsoft, for instance, reached a $650 million agreement with Inflection AI earlier this year, acquiring access to its models and onboarding many of its staff. Similarly, Amazon last year hired the co-founders and several team members from AI firm Adept. Both moves have attracted the attention of regulatory bodies. Google, meanwhile, continues to face multiple legal challenges from US authorities. The Justice Department has initiated two separate lawsuits aimed at breaking up its market power, one focusing on its dominance in online search, the other targeting its digital advertising operations. CBS Claims You Can't Trust Company That Uses American Security To Deliver Gaza Aid

For months much of the world, including the U.S. legacy media, demanded that Israel allow more aid into Gaza, and now that it has done so, the Tuesday edition of CBS Mornings is not satisfied. According to co-host Gayle King and correspondent Debora Patta, you simply cannot trust a new group that uses American contractors for security to deliver the aid, even as Patta admitted the usual system simply didn’t work. King set the scene, “A controversial new aid group began operations in Gaza today. The so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is backed by the U.S. and Israel and uses American contractors for security, but the U.N. and other critics say this group could lead to the displacement of even more Palestinians. Recently, Israel has been blocking most aid to Gaza as it works to destroy Hamas and free the hostages. Debora Patta has the latest.”     After highlighting 5-year-old Jalal Al-Shaikh, Patta got to the GHF, “Under pressure from its allies, including the U.S., Israel began allowing in a trickle of humanitarian aid last week. The newly set up U.S. and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation also says it began distributing food yesterday. It’s unclear how much or where, but its director, Jake Wood, resigned over the weekend, saying they could not adhere to humanitarian principles of neutrality while fulfilling their mission.” Patta tried to back up Wood’s concerns by claiming, “It's a criticism that's also been leveled by the U.N. amid concerns the foundation could be used by Israel to depopulate the north of Gaza by concentrating aid distribution in the south. The situation is so desperate that this mother and child are scavenging for food.” There are two fundamental riddles to the Gaza aid question. First, is just how truthful is the U.N.? Patta cites them as an unimpeachable moral authority. However, it was exactly one week ago, that United Nations Under-Secretary-General Tom Fletcher created a global sensation when he told BBC Radio that if aid wasn’t let into Gaza immediately, then 14,000 babies would die in the next 48 hours, when the actual report he was citing said there would be about 14,000 cases of acute malnutrition over the span of a year in children six months to five years old . In short, he literally spread fake news. The second problem is how do you distribute aid and make sure that it actually gets to the people who need it without Hamas stealing it? Although the word “Hamas,” never crossed Patta’s lips, she did point out the old system simply wasn’t working, ‘“Even when they bring aid, nothing reaches us,’ said Islam Abu Taymiyyah, ‘we’re like stray dogs collecting food from trash. If we don't, we starve.’” CBS admits the U.N.-dominated system wasn’t working but basically demands the U.S. and Israel adhere to it anyway because the alternative might be too pro-U.S. or Israel. That is the definition of madness. Here is a transcript for the May 27 show: CBS Mornings 5/27/2025 8:13 AM ET GAYLE KING: A controversial new aid group began operations in Gaza today. Debora Patta has the latest. DEBORA PATTA: The harrowing cell phone footage of this 5-year-old Jalal Al-Shaikh Khalil trudging through rubble, the makeshift shelter engulfed in flames after an Israeli strike hit the school where she and her family fled to escape the war in Gaza. The little girl survived. Her mother and five siblings did not.  When she returned to the scene of the attack, she found her sister's abandoned flip-flop and broke down sobbing. "They all died," she wept, "After a rocket fell on top of them.  Under pressure from its allies, including the U.S., Israel began allowing in a trickle of humanitarian aid last week. The newly set up U.S. and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation also says it began distributing food yesterday. It’s unclear how much or where, but its director, Jake Wood, resigned over the weekend, saying they could not adhere to humanitarian principles of neutrality while fulfilling their mission.  It's a criticism that's also been leveled by the U.N. amid concerns the foundation could be used by Israel to depopulate the north of Gaza by concentrating aid distribution in the south. The situation is so desperate that this mother and child are scavenging for food.  "Even when they bring aid, nothing reaches us,” said Islam Abu Taymiyyah, “we’re like stray dogs collecting food from trash. If we don't, we starve."  For CBS Mornings, I'm Debora Patta.

BREAKING: Leftist Snobs at NPR Sue Trump, Claim THEY Embody First Amendment

The “public broadcasting” elites argue with a straight face that removing any taxpayer subsidies is a violation of the First Amendment. On Monday morning, National Public Radio filed a lawsuit claiming that President Trump’s executive order telling the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to withhold funds from NPR is “a clear violation of the Constitution.” The lawsuit says Trump's order violates both "the expressed will of Congress and the First Amendment's bedrock guarantees of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of association." NPR and PBS refuse to engage in the allegations of 24/7 liberal bias. The White House laid out chapter and verse about the tilt, and NPR CEO Katherine Maher put out a statement accusing Trump of "retaliatory, viewpoint-based discrimination." Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!  In his servile press release of a story, NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik briefly mentioned the Trump White House put out a memo insisting NPR published articles "insist[ing] that COVID-19 did not originate in a lab" and "refused to cover the Hunter Biden laptop story." Then came the unintentional humor: NPR's Maher rejected such ideological characterizations, pointing to such statements by Trump to argue he was seeking to exact illegal retribution for their news coverage. "This is retaliatory, viewpoint-based discrimination in violation of the First Amendment. The Supreme Court has ruled numerous times over the past 80 years that the government does not have the right to determine what counts as 'biased,' Maher said in her statement Tuesday. "NPR will never agree to this infringement of our constitutional rights, or the constitutional rights of our Member stations, and NPR will not compromise our commitment to an independent free press and journalistic integrity." These people define aggressive leftist propaganda as journalistic "independence" and "integrity." Folkenflik claimed Trump's executive order on CPB is "part of a larger assault on the news media writ large." Criticizing journalists (and refusing to fund their slanted product" is an "assault on the media." But it's "integrity" in action when the news media wage a "larger assault" on Trump and the Republicans, even to the point of lawfare aiming to put them in jail.  These people have a funny definition of what the First Amendment is. These taxpayer-funded networks retaliate against conservatives for daring to win elections after they've been smeared as threats to democracy. Our opposition to these partisan "public" networks is the embodiment of democracy and a vibrant display of the First Amendment.

Red states get it: Economic freedom beats blue-state gimmicks

After enduring state and local COVID policies that wreaked havoc on the economy, followed by historic inflation that delivered a resounding election victory to Donald Trump, you would think that state and local politicians would learn some economic lessons. Apparently not. Politicians from blue and red states seem to be getting their lessons from very different schools. If blue states don’t begin to understand how economics work, they are going to continue to see their power centers dwindle. In red states, politicians want to enable economic freedom. Property taxes, which impose a heavy, lifelong burden on real estate owners, have been a subject of several politicians looking to improve the opportunity to participate in the American dream of home ownership. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is looking at a state constitutional amendment to potentially eradicate property taxes in the state. Reviving the American dream Cliff Maloney, CEO of the strategic grassroots organization Citizens Alliance, explained to Blaze News the significance of this lesson: When you think about it, you never truly own your home. If you miss just a few tax payments, they’ll seize your property that you saved for and worked so hard to make a home. That’s not freedom — that’s essentially just rent to the state. Our internal data shows that out of the 510,000 Americans we’ve talked to, more than 82% said property taxes are a major concern. They're infuriated that while they're being forced to cut their own budgets to survive in today's economy, local governments refuse to do the same. While not going quite as far as DeSantis, Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) is also trying to deliver some tax relief to property owners, with others in the state working to figure out how to get rid of property taxes in the long term. Maloney also mentioned that Citizens Alliance's door-knocking and advocacy efforts in New Hampshire “led to abolishing 14 taxes and fees, which has produced a dramatic influx of businesses moving to the state from other nearby states that have a higher tax burden.” All of this stems from smart economic lessons. Lessons that very blue states have failed to learn. Democrats haven’t learned anything After witnessing the inflationary effects of COVID-era stimulus checks — a result that was highly unpopular politically — one might assume politicians would steer clear of repeating the same mistake. That’s not the case in New York, where Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) is laughably handing out “inflation refund” checks, a move even other Democrats are calling a political gimmick — not to mention a bad economic move. RELATED: How California’s crisis could lead to a big political shift Carsten Schertzer via iStock/Getty Images In Virginia, former Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger, now running for governor, has pledged to raise the minimum wage to $15, another form of market intervention that creates barriers to employment and increases costs. In Minneapolis, city leaders are considering adding a 2% fee to hotel rooms in an effort to boost tourism — because, apparently, making hotels more expensive is always a good way to get more people to your city. The people have spoken Given the importance of the economy to Americans, it’s no surprise that Americans are moving from blue states to red ones. Maloney shared: We've had the unique opportunity to talk to a lot of new residents during our door-knocking campaigns, and in doing so, our data uncovered that 69% of new residents moved for financial reasons. In 41% of these cases, this was because they were no longer able to afford the skyrocketing cost of living in blue states, while 13% were because of new, better-paying job opportunities. If blue states don’t begin to understand how economics work, they will continue to see their power centers dwindle. Math doesn’t lie. People are taking their capital and spending power to the states where the math works.

Another Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 gaming GPU cable has melted, despite precautions

In worrying news for gamers, yet another burned-out Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 cable has been reported. While the GPU power port itself seems undamaged, a burned-out MSI cable, specifically designed to help ensure a firm and fully seated fit for the power cable, has received the full scorched earth treatment. This is the second MSI RTX 5090 cable to burn out under similar circumstances in just a few months. While the RTX 5090 is certainly one of the best graphics card options out there for performance, the high power draw of these Nvidia GPUs appears to be occasionally causing some fairly dramatic failures that typically leave the card destroyed.
