One Nation Under God: America Needs Christian Ideas

In a recent episode of the Holy Post podcast, co-host and pastor Skye Jethani criticized the conservative conviction that “policies should favor Christian ideas.” Instead, he proposed that Christians in government should pursue policies that promote “flourishing and goodness for everyone.” To be a Christian and simultaneously claim that Christian ideas are incapable of producing a flourishing, free, and good society — how small a faith must that require? What ideas does Jethani prefer to Christian ideas? Secular ideas? Satanic ideas? Jethani is not the only one with this view. He is among a chorus of evangelical pastors, pundits, and academics who seem more concerned with policing conservative Christians than with confronting the godless, suicidal death cult that is assailing our nation from the Left. The Left embraces the mockery of God’s created order for marriage between one man and one woman. The Left celebrates aborting unborn babies in the name of “reproductive freedom.” Since 1973, 65 million boys and girls have died by the violence of abortion to the applause of Democrats. The Left also champions mutilating, sterilizing, and castrating children. Mentally ill, confused, and vulnerable girls and boys are being irreversibly damaged in the name of “gender-affirming care” to the cheers of LGBTQ ideologues. And on the heels of Leftist rhetoric, mainstream politicians call women “birthing persons” and “chest feeders,” radicalized schoolteachers and administrators force girls into locker rooms with boys, and drag queen strippers throw cash at toddlers. Faced with all this, some Christians urge silence — worried their churches or platforms might be labeled “too political,” “offensive,” or “unempathetic.” When I was preparing to be a lifeguard, my training went a little something like this: if someone is drowning, do not jump in the water and drown with them. Throw a life preserver, extend a shepherd’s crook, or make a skilled save while ensuring your own safety. Pull the swimmer out of the water to save their life. Like the sinking swimmer, the Left does not need affirmation as it drags our country down its suicidal path — it needs firm rejection from the Church and its shepherds. Sinners cannot be saved in their sin, but must be called out of it. The Church must offend flesh, confront darkness, and model a holier way as a city on a hill and a light in the darkness. The “love of neighbor” is the whole truth spoken in love, an invitation to repentance, and the promise of newness of life in Christ. The Holy Post and others’ avoidant, “empathetic” approach to political engagement does not offer a broken culture a solid refuge or a light in the darkness. It does not throw a life preserver, but jumps in to drown with the sinner. Willful silence from platforms and pulpits in the face of cultural evil condemns Christian audiences to ignorance, and the fear of man makes a fickle, fruitless flock. That’s not compassion: it’s apathy cloaked as empathy. The same fruitless result is reached when evangelical thought leaders obscure simple Biblical truths in mind-numbing “nuances” and an overly “winsome” delivery — believers are left clueless, unequipped, and vulnerable, and cultural evils go unchecked and unchallenged. A Christian government and a Christian cultural consensus cannot save every soul in our country — only the Holy Spirit’s work of regeneration and faith in Jesus Christ can do that in a person. But together, both can create a nation where objective truth, moral order, and God’s good design provide “flourishing and goodness to everyone.” America needs Christian ideas. Unborn babies, children, marriages, and families need Christian ideas, and unbelievers need the truth, love, joy, compassion, goodness, dignity, charity, freedom, moral order, and righteousness inherent in Christian ideas. If the belief that Christian ideas should govern society makes us too extreme for the cool kids’ table at the Holy Post, so be it. If proclaiming Biblical truth about the sanctity of life, children’s innocence, godly marriage, and the created dignity of the sexes is deemed “too political,” then again, so be it. The Church is not called to cultural appeasement — it is called to “destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). The answer to our nation’s cultural schism is not a thoughtless kumbaya with the Left. It is revival — revival in our Churches, revival of a Christian cultural consensus, and revival of governance rooted in Christian ideas. Wedding Proposal “Prank” Turns Into The Most Wholesome Moment

While bride Breanna Ricker was planning her wedding, her bridesmaid came up with a silly prank. She had been waiting for her own proposal forever. She thought it would be funny to begin Breanna’s procession with a fake wedding proposal. The prank was on schedule and perfect. The bridesmaid was paired with her real-life boyfriend for the procession. As they entered the venue holding hands, he stopped and dropped to one knee. He reached into the inside pocket of his suit, but instead of a ring, he brought out a single flower. Handing it to his girlfriend, she responded with a frustrated pouty look and some serious side-eyes. After the prank wedding proposal, they continued down the aisle to their places in front of the altar. @breanna.ricker Nobody else we’d want to share our day with! We love you both so much! #bouquettoss #fiances #proposal #fyp #weddingtiktok ♬ Marry You – Bruno Mars While the bridesmaid was busy plotting out her prank proposal, the bride and her boyfriend were plotting behind her back. When it came time for the tossing of the bouquet, Breanna held fast. She turned purposefully and walked directly to her bridesmaid. Handing off the bouquet, Breanna gently turned her bridesmaid around to face the crowd of female attendees who had been awaiting the bouquet toss. If this were a movie, there would be some dramatic music here. After she completely turned, the crowd of women parted to reveal her boyfriend on one knee. This time, he had a real ring. Image from TikTok. The bridesmaid was totally surprised. SHE SAID YES! Breanna was jumping and smiling as the now-engaged couple hugged to seal the deal. What begins as a silly prank goes full circle to become the stuff of major life memories. Breanna was willing to share her own special day with her bridesmaid, and it was awesome. Please share. “My Cat’s Reaction To Me Talking To Her Through The Ring Camera For The First Time”

It’s amazing all the ways you can use a Ring camera. For example, someone once used a family’s front door camera to help save pets from the raging fire that was inside. Then there are the more lighthearted, fun reasons to have these cameras around. The best example stems from a fact that is true for so many pet owners: We can’t be around our four-legged friends 24/7. Nothing can fully make up for this, of course, but having a way to check in on them helps. Best of all, you can even talk to your pet through the camera! That said, not every pet is going to react the same way. When a woman named Abigail decided to talk to her cat through the Ring camera for the first time, she had no idea how she’d react. Watch the video below to find out how it went! To give you an idea, Abigail says that her cat was “shook.” @abbbshawty she was shook #fyp #ringcam #catsoftiktok ♬ Little Things – Adrián Berenguer When This Cute Cat Hears Mom’s Voice Through the Ring Camera, She Isn’t Sure What’s Going On! One moment, Abigail’s cat is casually taking sips of her water. And in the next… there’s Mom’s voice! But where is she at? Because the cat is so used to her mom’s voice coming from above her, she initially looks up. Once it’s clear that Mom isn’t actually up there, she moves to the source of the sound. Needless to say, this sweet cat was both baffled and amazed. Folks online who have seen this cat’s reaction are nearly as “shook” as she is over this magical moment. “Imagine you’re drinking water and your cup randomly starts talking to you,” someone hilariously pointed out in the comments. Others added, “She said… God? Oh I mean mom?” and “Little angel instantly looked up for you.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here! Your Kids’ Heroes Don’t Have to Be Perfect

From the moment I was born, my parents began instilling the lesson that I can look up to people who are different from me. Though Christa McAuliffe’s Roman Catholic beliefs differed from my parent’s theological convictions, they so admired the courage and tenacity Christa evidenced during her journey to become the first civilian to travel to outer space that they named me after her. Some people think they can only emulate someone who has an identical worldview. How can I have a role model who thinks, believes, and behaves differently from me? If I can’t agree with everything someone believes, why should I set that person up as a role model for my family? As a Christian, isn’t that condoning unbiblical behavior? As I look at Scripture, I see a different story—God continually puts nonideal candidates like prophets, priests, and kings into positions where they’re setting examples for those under them. There’s room to learn from and honor people who are different from us. And parents can show the children following in their footsteps how to benefit from a variety of role models. Here are three lessons you teach your children when you give them diverse heroes. 1. We honor God by honoring his creation. Each person is made in God’s image and thus has value and dignity. One of the ways we honor God is by honoring what he has made. A practical way to do this is to see the inherent value in his creation. Though sin has marred every aspect of the world, we can still catch glimpses of what the Creator saw when he declared it “very good” (Gen. 1:31). When parents honor people who are different from them, they teach their children that every person has value. A person’s value doesn’t hinge on whether that individual has the same values or political party as they do, but on the fact that God in heaven fashioned them and called them good. If you only give honor to people who think and believe like you, what are you teaching your children about the value of humanity? 2. We develop humility by cultivating a teachable spirit. I’ll never forget the time I sat under what I perceived as a terrible lecture given in a horrible manner, when I noticed a skillful public speaker listening attentively. My pride was instantly slain. This scenario stands out in my mind because I observed someone demonstrating a teachable spirit by learning from a person I (arrogantly) perceived to be beneath his level. His response showcased the beauty of Christlike humility. In the same way, we model humility to our children when we actively look for ways to learn from everyone around us. Rather than assuming people who think and act differently have nothing to teach him, a humble person recognizes there are areas of his life that can only be improved as he learns from the input and critique of those around him. We model humility to our children when we actively look for ways to learn from everyone around us. If you only learn from people who think like you, how are you training your children to respond to critiques from anyone who thinks differently?  3. We exercise discernment without demonization. There’s been a disturbing trend in recent years of relegating anyone who thinks and acts differently to a list of defamed and demoted humans. It happens in both believing and unbelieving spheres and has served to make the index of acceptable role models alarmingly slim. We see a different approach from God. I’m consistently shocked by the people God puts into positions of prestige in the Bible. For several weeks now, I’ve been engrossed in the life of Jonah, a runaway preacher. Despite repenting of his rebellious feet and circling back to preach repentance as God told him to, Jonah still had a fractious heart. Do you know what floors me about this story? God made Jonah the preacher for one of the most successful revivals ever. God didn’t condone Jonah’s selfishness or anger but used him despite them. I’m consistently shocked by the people God puts into positions of prestige in the Bible. As believers, we must exercise discernment and distinguish between sin and righteousness—and teach our children to do the same. There’s a way to discern with grace, remembering that every person, including ourselves, exhibits a complicated mix of good and evil. Even the person you consider the worst human on the planet has strengths you can learn from and attributes by which you can be edified. Take a page from the book of Jonah and praise Jesus for not limiting his work to perfect people. Otherwise, we’d all be excluded. If you demonize every person you disagree with, who will be left for you to learn from?  If we, as parents, honor God’s creation, display Spirit-enabled humility, and practice grace-filled discernment, we’ll not only set a Christlike example for our children but also see God work through these diverse role models to change us to be more like him.

In an age of madness, the unbreakable spirit of Katie Hopkins soars

In an age of madness, we need fearless people. The United Kingdom, a country that has slowly slipped into authoritarianism, has found a maverick in British comedian and political commentator Katie Hopkins. Her unapologetic truth-telling and hilarious politically incorrect jokes have gotten her deported from Australia, detained in Africa, threatened with jail time in England, and nearly beheaded by jihadi terrorists. But Katie remains unbowed.“I choose all of it and more. If I’m arrested when I return home, please know I choose it because this is the time, and we will be dragged through more coals, but this is the time to be alive," she says.On a recent episode of “The Glenn Beck Podcast,” Katie shared the wildest stories from her extraordinary life and explained why she refuses to stay silent. South Africa, 2018After realizing that the genocide of white South African farmers at the hands of black gangs was going unreported, Katie did what most would never even consider: She moved to South Africa and lived on white farms for three months. With a trustworthy camera and security crew, Katie filmed a documentary capturing the truth about the horrendous plight of white farmers in South Africa — a place she says is a far cry from the “multicultural glory pot” the media and global governments pretend it is.“At night in South Africa on white farms is where the monsters come,” she tells Glenn.“Gangs of black men armed with weapons that were laid down by whites during the time of apartheid” come to torture and kill white farmers and their families in ways Katie says are too barbaric to describe. The entire “targeted campaign” is “aided and abetted by black police forces.”Although she entered the country “securely and secretly,” a month into her stay, Katie began releasing the documentary footage. “Because I was determined to be heard,” she says. The African National Congress, privy to her whereabouts and purpose, then began “chasing” her as she traveled between farms.“By the time I went back to the airport, the ANC had caught up with me,” she tells Glenn. When she tried to board the plane back home, she found that her passport had been flagged. Airport officials confiscated it and detained Katie. Knowing that if she was taken to a South African jail, she would never come out again, Katie’s security detail was prepared to “open fire on the South African police.”But luck or divine providence was in her favor that day. The police chief was off duty, and Katie was eventually allowed to board the plane and return home.Australia, 2021In 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Katie was granted a special visa exemption to appear as a contestant on the reality TV show “Big Brother VIP.” Upon arrival in Sydney, she was placed in mandatory 14-day quarantine in accordance with the country’s lockdown mandates. They sent “Australian military men to get me off the plane to put me in a quarantine prison for 14 days,” she says. The rules enforced upon her were beyond severe: “I was not allowed a key. I was not allowed to touch the front door of my hotel room. I was not allowed to come out for food,” she tells Glenn.“When they delivered the food, they would knock on the door. I was given a little egg timer. ... I had to turn the egg timer, wait six seconds (because obviously COVID would know), and then I was allowed to go to the door to get my food.”Three days into her quarantine, Katie had reached her limit. She went “full-blooming Winston Churchill mode” and livestreamed a YouTube video to 3 million viewers, calling for the Australian people “to rise” up against the country’s COVID tyranny.Being a comedian, Katie joked, “I am going to strip myself naked. I’m going to cover myself in vegetable oil, and I’m going to make a run down the 29th floor, and I’m going to grab a member of that military, and I’m going to drag him into my room, and I’m going to do terrible things to him."Even though no such thing happened, major media outlets, including Al Jazeera, CNN, and BBC, reported that Katie indeed violated a military officer.“Within a moment, my life went very dark indeed. So they turned off the water, the lights, no more food,” she says, adding that the Australian government then denied having issued her a travel visa, framing her as “an illegal immigrant.”“Eventually two minibus full of men came, rounded me up, put me in the back of a white van, took me to the airport, and walked me onto the plane,” she recounts, noting that her passport now has a giant red “DEPORTED” stamp on it.But the craziest part came next. After her deportation, Katie went to a tattoo shop and had the red deported stamp tattooed on her rear end. “And then I sent the picture of my ass to the deputy prime minister of Australia,” she laughs. To hear more of Katie’s wild tales and her take on the Pakistani rape gangs in the U.K., Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Donald Trump, and other topics, watch the full interview above.Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling, thought-provoking analysis, and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.
