On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Rissa Miller and I conducted an on-site investigation at the recently renovated Yorktowne Hotel (Hilton Hotels) at 48 E. Market St. in York, PA.Before the on-site investigation, Beyond Horizons Remote Viewing was given the task of conducting remote viewing sessions - Target 8434-7193 for Lon Strickler regarding the ‘Hilton Hotel Paranormal Investigation – June 2024.’ This is the only non-specific information provided to the team.ParticipantsDeleece Cook - Telepathic ReadingManuel Ulliac - Remote ViewingTaliesin - Remote ViewingCharlotte – Remote ViewingDeleece Cook later conducted an individual telepathic review of the location to provide more information before the on-site investigation. All the remote viewing and telepathic information was then provided to Lon Strickler and Rissa Miller.  ----- Yorktowne Hotel Investigation Rissa Miller and Lon Strickler July 10, 2024 Rissa Miller’s Report Advance Notes Before the visit, Lon forwarded only the coordinates of the location to RV coordinator, Deleece Cook, who remotely tapped into the space’s energy. She picked up several ghost signatures in the building, but nothing malevolent, though one was sassy, and one was sad. Deleece picked up a newer, spunkier entity named Jane and sent Lon a drawn image of what looked VERY similar to the border around the rooftop lounge. Deleece’s notes described it more as a balcony looking over a street. This is one of Jane’s preferred locations. Jane & the Lounge Areas On the day of, Lon & I started at the rooftop lounge. Both instruments in use went off in the same areas, indicating an entity might be present (EMF meter and visual energy camera). Her presence was first lit up in the hall by the bathrooms, then out in the main room, then onto the rooftop outdoor area. Notes from psychic - Jane was not an old ghost like the other two. She may have lived as recently as the 1960s-1970s. She has a lot of energy and curiosity. She has likely interfered with electronics, or broken things like plates because she’s just young and curious. Not young like a child, but like a younger soul, a person who did not like old age. It was said that Jane did not grow up in York but came here to marry someone suggested by her family. But she loved it in York and had dined at the Yorktowne as a living person. It held good memories for her. Jane may be visible to others as a shadow in the lounge or lobby, but where there should not be one. She is responsive to her name. She likes it when the lounge areas (lobby and rooftop) are busy; she likes people, music, and activities. She may also be noticeable when there is an orange blossom perfume scent (when there shouldn’t be one). Please note, that Jane has enough energy to move things. She is not dark-intentioned and has no cruelty, but she is very curious and may move things because she wants to explore - or because she wants to be part of what is happening at the hotel. Jane can show up anywhere in the hotel. Unlike the Ghost of Hospitality or the Nanny Ghost, she is not locked into one region. She is what investigators call a “walk-in” - she walked into the hotel as a ghost and decided to stay. She is bound to space by her own choice. Jane is an intelligent haunting, meaning she can and does interact. 8th Floor - The Ghost of Hospitality This floor is home to the hotel’s longest-running ghost story and is well within the public domain. There are many versions of the story of this entity, but the one that matches an actual obituary is about a cigar salesman who “lived” at the hotel in the 1950s. He was unmarried and came from Philadelphia. Herman Eugene Abrams, “Eugene” to friends, was a full-time salesman and spent so much time with the staff of the Yorktowne, that he considered them his family. He went into a heart attack in the lobby and died at what we now think of as Wellspan-York Hospital. But he returned to the Hotel to stay forever. Eugene is a formal, old-school gentleman. He is seen dressed in formal attire from the early to mid-1950s. He wears a hat and is known to tip it if you see him as he walks by. His usual room was always on the 8th floor and that is where he most often stays. Sometimes he goes out into town, and you know he’s coming or going because the 8th floor button will light up. Also, he does smell like cigar smoke, so if anyone smells cigars on the 8th floor in the currently nonsmoking hotel, it’s just Eugene. He does not know how to speak or move things around; he conducts himself as a gentleman would. Lon and I had some activity in the lobby of the 8th floor right by the elevators and for a moment, both had a whiff of cigar smoke (Lon did not know the story going into the investigation and had never visited Yorktowne). EMF meter had readings by the lobby, but not in the hallways. This long-standing story is still relevant and held up to investigation, and the distance-psychic reader also picked up on Eugene. Eugene is an intelligent spirit. Violet and the 4th & 5th Floors Another less well-known, but in-the-public-domain ghost story about the Hotel is the Nanny Ghost. The legends say that on the 4th floor, she appears to comfort children and babies who are upset. She is said to be gentle and kind, not at all frightening. In her presence, fussy little ones are said to calmly go to sleep. Again, Lon did not know this story going into the investigation. Deleece, the psychic noted a sad female presence in this area of the hotel. Psychic notes - The name Violet came through strongly. As well as a uniform, like Violet worked at the hotel as a maid or in some other capacity. Her hair is dark and cut into a bob, like would have been stylish in the late 1920s, and her attire, as described, matches that timeframe. It’s very possible Violet did not marry or have children of her own, but very badly wanted a family. She absolutely LOVES babies and children and feels tenderly towards them. Dark Theme - There was also the feeling she may have been a victim of rape and had a miscarriage. I could not find any police reports in old newspapers to verify this. However, it’s not likely an unmarried woman would have reported such a crime in the 1920s. There is also a likelihood Violet died young, like in her 20s. Possibly from a crime or severe/fast-acting illness. But like the others, the Hotel was her home, so she came back to stay there. There were strong equipment hits around the maids’ closets on the 4th and 5th floors. Like almost as high as the meter could go. If there was room 507 (it’s where the closest is), that would be the hottest spot on these two floors. Violet is an intelligent spirit but reserved. She will not show herself readily and prefers young children to most adults. She has not been known to speak or interact very often. Ballroom In the ballroom, there was some meter activity but nothing specific. Lon and I both wondered if there is residual energy for all the events there. Most likely there were happy memories, like parties and dancing. It wouldn’t surprise us if late at night, residuals of such events show up. Overall Observations There are ghosts at the Yorktowne, but they’re not malevolent and don’t seem to have any requests or demands. From what I was told by Rissa, the management had requested an investigation because much of the previous interactions between the known spirit energies and staff/guests had waned since the multi-year renovation of the hotel. We were asked to give our impressions as to why this occurred. On-Site Investigation At the beginning of the investigation, Rissa and I took the elevator to the roof area. The location includes a bar/restaurant as well as an outside promenade. The balustrade (The exact design described by Deleece) completely encompassed the promenade. Rissa and I both remark that we felt a female presence as we disembarked the elevator onto the floor. It was obvious to us that this was Jane’s energy greeting us. She is a boisterous spirit, demonstrating her desire to interact with us. As we descended from the roof to the guest levels, Jane remained with us. It seemed that she was directing us to a location that she wanted us to concentrate on. Rissa was very aware of some of the known history and energies that have interacted with guests and staff during the past 100 years. As we made our way to each subsequent floor, there were indications of spiritual energy, especially on the 8th floor (Herman Eugene Abrams and the cigar odor both Rissa and I pick up on). There were also a few other impressions sensed during our walk-through, particularly the odor of burning wood, possible portal activity between descending floors, and the constant presence of Jane. When we reached the 5th floor, both Rissa and I experienced a heightened sense of the past. Deleece had mentioned in her report that the number 507 was significant to Jane. I believe that 507 referred to a room number. As we got closer to the area where a possible Room #507 would have been located it was obvious that was now a housekeeping storage room or closet. But there was a deep sense of dread and pain at the door of this housekeeping storage room. As I approached the door and touched the original molding the word ‘violence’ immediately came from my mouth. At the same exact time, Rissa stated ‘Violet.’ We both received a message, though I believe both Violet’ and ‘violence’ were relevant terms under the circumstances. I instantly ‘sensed’ a female figure, of short, petite stature, and wearing a one-piece dress/uniform. She was African American with very short black shiny hair. She was in distress and pain. I saw a stream of blood flowing down her left leg. I then saw her lying on her right side with her legs extending out of the room into the hallway. I felt her intense pain. I felt her shock. I felt her ‘death.’ I feel that this was the Nanny that Rissa had told me about. I truly believe that Jane was telling us the Nanny’s story… and her demise. Because of the times when this occurred, which I feel was either in 1927 or 1928, the violent death of an African American woman, by whatever means, would have been silenced. But Jane wanted us to know. I make these assumptions based on my intuition and ability to interpret spiritual energy. In the time since our investigation, I have not been able to gather any other intuitive evidence from the location, not even remotely. It was as if my instant connection to this terrible act was suddenly turned off. I would surely like to find tangible evidence of the assault, but I realize that this may not be possible. Final Notes: I was truly privileged to have been allowed to work with Rissa. We had only talked and texted before the Yorktowne Hotel on-site investigation, but I quickly felt comfortable with her when we met that day. I am very appreciative to have become acquainted with an experienced, capable, and intelligent colleague. I look forward to future collaboration with Rissa. A Wiregrass region of Alabama resident recalls a loud ruckus that occurred one Autumn night when the neighbor's dogs went ballistic, seemingly attacking or defending against an unknown beast.The following account was forwarded by a colleague:"I've lived in the Wiregrass area my entire life, so I'm familiar with some of the cryptids in Alabama. Although I live within city limits, the area behind my house and neighborhood is extremely forested so much—so that deer often hang around back there, as I've seen many of their tracks. A few years ago, my brother and I were in our backyard, which has direct access to the forest. The rear right side of our fence line was filled with thick bushes and small trees. In the center of our yard is a large workshop/garage, and to the right of that is a tree with a rope swing that our dad set up, which is where we usually spent our time. It was early autumn when this event happened.As we were sitting around and goofing off, all the birds and other little critters suddenly went silent. At the time, I didn't know that this usually means a big predator is nearby. We didn't notice the silence at first, but then we heard the sound of branches breaking, which made us turn toward the noise. I could barely make out a big white body moving in the brush, which scared the hell out of me because I didn't know what it was. I got my brother's attention, and we saw that it had drawn closer. Both of us were terrified, so we slowly made our way back to the porch. Whatever it was stopped moving and just watched us. Once we got inside, we refused to go back out, but we didn't explain why to our parents.I wouldn't be posting about this if not for what happened an hour ago. I was sleeping in my bed when I was woken up by the neighbor's dogs. They're all pretty big and usually don't bark during the night, but this time, all three were barking at once. One of them sounded like it was yelping in pain while it was clear the other two were fighting something. I didn't want to go out on the back porch because I was too scared (plus it was 3 AM), so I opened the window in my room and tried to look outside. There are a few interesting descriptions and encounters included in these accounts.1994 – No Location: "This story happened about 30 years ago. My husband, daughter, and I packed lunch and got two horses and a pony for my 3-year-old daughter and we were planning a picnic in the state forest to go to a large pond to do a little fishing. When we got there, we tied the horses to the scrub bushes, unpacked our fishing gear and lunch, and sat at the edge of the pond.As I looked across the pond I told my husband that we should go on the other side because there was a grassy area for the horses and pony to eat grass. So we packed back up and rode to the other side. When we got there, my husband said “Did you see that guy behind the tree watching us”? I thought he we just trying to freak me out. We fished and ate our lunch and I realized I left my pliers where we were before. So I told my husband I was getting back on my horse to go get them. I did.When I was going back to them, I saw the man. He seemed to be skinny and I could only see his balding head and a hand. He just stared at me and I started back. When I got back to my husband and daughter. I said “Pack up we are out of here! I saw the guy.” Nothing bad happened, thank God, but when it came to my daughter, nothing was going to. I totally forgot about that. I never went there again to even ride my horse." L-----No Date – San Diego, California: “Sunrise in Pacific Beach, San Diego and there were 3 of us. No one else gave a glance. First came a huge group of, playful dolphins. Then there were humanoid-looking sea people forming a larger, circle. They had very long arms, and it looked like they were performing salutations to the rising sun. I know they saw me. I think it was only for my eyes. Hare Aum!" T-----No Date - Andaman and Nicobars Island, India: "When I was in 7th grade, my family went for a vacation in Andaman and Nicobars Island in India to meet one of my aunts as she was ill. Then after some time my elder brother went for a walk along the sea suddenly the water level started rising and it was around 9:00 PM at night. Suddenly we saw someone's shadow in the water it was dark so we weren't able to see properly but it was a human-like creature dark in color and had long hands, no hair, and a body like a female. There was some kind of flesh between the fingers, a big head but a small chin and there was nobody in the water at that time it was creepy when we saw it as it was coming closer and closer. The water level gradually started increasing. Then some local boatsman came and told me and my brother to run by saying something in his local language." A-----No Date – No Location: "I’ve had an experience when I was younger. I didn’t get pulled under but I saw her and she looked really evil with sharp teeth but jumped into the water when I turned my flashlight on. I was so scared. My cousin was there with me and he said he saw the same thing I did but OFC nobody believed us. That was basically it. It was just a few seconds. From the moment I turned the flashlight on and she noticed us she was gone and she wasn't as pretty as any of the mermaid movies I had watched. The side of her hips kind of had fins too and the tail looked slimy and kinda gross. My cousin and I looked at each other and we realized we saw the same thing and we were spooked and ran away." S-----1930s - Jamaica: "This is very true. My grandfather used to drive his boat up the Ryeah Coby River early in the mornings. He said that when he reached the big cotton tree and had a cursing oil lamp on the front of his boat you could see when the light lights up the rocks, you see the mermaids jumping off in the water when the light hits the rocks. This is way back in the 1930s when they used to wear lampshade dresses those big dresses that look like a lampshade. My grandfather also said they don't look like what's in the movies, pretty ladies with fishtails. They look like a fish creature but like a humanoid with a fishtail. Like the scene in Harry Potter. A father, son, and their dog are hiking on the Appalachian Trail. That evening they stopped to spend the night at a shelter. Then, an encounter with an unknown being occurs. Later, the realization sets in!I received the following account:"My event was in the mid-eighties, including my son and our dog Ginger. When we had our encounter we were at a shelter on the Appalachian Trail in Amherst County, Va. It was the Cow Camp Gap shelter. It was early December and very cold. It would get below 10 degrees that night.I am comfortable in the woods and teaching my son skills needed to survive is a LIFE SKILL like swimming. It's good 'father-son' time.We arrived at the shelter shortly before dark and made a fire for warmth and hot food. The shelter faces south and has a spring-fed stream separating the shelter from the AT. The AT runs with an old narrow road separating and climbing north to the top of Cole Mountain.My son and I were in good spirits sitting, talking, and playing with Ginger.Ginger saw the figure coming out of the late twilight walking north. It was a surprise that anyone would be at that location since the closest house was a hard three or four miles from the shelter. The figure came within 100 feet. The thing was tall and wore a dark brown "fur coat". I was aware of Ginger's barking changing to something I had never heard from her before that event, or after. Without thinking I called out to the figure to come over and have some hot drink. That's when things got very difficult to explainFirst, the creature turned to face us. Its face looked human in shape but not human in appearance. It turned its whole body. When the creature looked at us, Ginger's barking changed. Her hind legs appeared uncontrolled. Her sounds were not barking sounds but a gurgling noise. She was in great pain! I momentarily focused on Ginger reaching down to her which did not stop her suffering! I looked to the creature who returned to continuing its long, athletic strides, taking it out of sight very quickly. Ginger resumed barking her aggression warning, but not the same as before the thing had turned to face us.My son said, "Dad, what just happened to Ginger"? I was thinking what did that thing do to Ginger when it was 100 feet away? I was not fearful and Ginger was a "handful of Golden Retriever."We spent a cold night with Ginger at alert the entire time. When we made our way to the warmth of my car the next morning Ginger curled up with my son in the back seat and slept the three-hour drive home.It would be eight years later before I returned to the area. Ginger refused to follow me off Cole Mountain south towards the Cow Camp Gap shelter. When I got close to the woods half a mile north of the shelter, Ginger sat with ears perked refusing my efforts to get her to come to me.I decided I would not go without Ginger.Fifteen years later while on a Sunday drive to the town of Buena Vista, Virginia, a small town about fifteen miles from the AT shelter, I would have a conversation with a teenage waitress. I mentioned my frequent visits to the Mt. Pleasant Trail area. She said I should be careful and not go alone to Cole Mt., because about the time she was born, her uncles had seen something while they were deer hunting that had scared them so badly they would never hunt or go back to that area. When an unnamed “senior administration official” briefed reporters last Friday about national security adviser Jake Sullivan’s trip to the People’s Republic of China—to meet with Foreign Minister Wang Yi—there was one significant word he never used: genocide. “I expect these meetings will cover roughly the same format as we have in previous rounds, discussing key issues in the U.S.-China bilateral relationship and advancing counternarcotics cooperation, military-to-military communication, and [artificial intelligence] safety and risk discussions,” this official said. “Mr. Sullivan,” the official said, “will raise U.S. concerns about China’s support for Russia’s defense industrial base, the South China Sea, and various other issues.” “And I expect they will also discuss cross-strait issues,” said this official. Three days later, White House national security communications adviser John Kirby gave reporters an on-the-record briefing on Sullivan’s trip to China. His description of what Sullivan would discuss with Wang was virtually identical to the description given in the background briefing. Kirby—like the unnamed official who gave the background briefing—never used this word: genocide. Now, go back to Dec. 6, 2021—two months before the 2022 Winter Olympics were scheduled to begin in Beijing. In her briefing that day, as this column has noted before, then-White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced that the Biden administration would engage in a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics. They would do so, she explained, because the People’s Republic of China was engaging in genocide. “The Biden administration,” she said, “will not send any diplomatic or official representation to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games given the PRC’s ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang and other human rights abuses.” So, has China stopped perpetrating this genocide? This April, as this column has noted before, Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a press conference to mark the release of his department’s 2023 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. “Rohingya in Burma, Uyghurs in Xinjiang—each victims of genocide and crimes against humanity,” Blinken said in that press conference four months ago. “The United States will continue to raise our deep concerns directly with the governments responsible.” The report on China that Blinken released that day said: “Genocide and crimes against humanity occurred during the year in China against predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang.” “Significant human rights issues,” it said, “included credible reports of: arbitrary or unlawful killings by the government; enforced disappearances by the government; torture by the government … “ The day before President Donald Trump left office, as this column has noted before, then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a statement declaring that the Chinese Communist Party was engaging in an “ongoing” genocide against the Uyghurs in Xinjiang. While continuing to engage in this genocide, China has hauled in massive amounts of money from the United States. Since January 2021—the month of President Joe Biden’s inauguration—the United States has imported approximately $1.6658 trillion in goods from China, according to the Census Bureau. At the same time, this country has exported only approximately $524.100 billion in goods to China. That has resulted in a Biden-era bilateral trade deficit with China of approximately $1.1417 trillion. By contrast, China has reduced its holdings of U.S. government debt during the Biden administration. In January 2021, entities in the PRC owned $1.0952 trillion in U.S. Treasury securities, according to the Treasury Department. As of this June, they held only $780.2 billion—a decline of 28.7% under the Biden administration. Nor does China respect freedom of religion. “Authorities continued to require CCP members and members of the armed forces to be atheists and forbade them to engage in religious practices,” said the State Department 2023 report on religious freedom in the PRC. “Regulations require clergy to pledge allegiance to the CCP and socialism,” it said. “According to reports, the government maintained a near-ubiquitous system of high-technology surveillance of religious sites,” it said. “[Nongovernmental organizations] and media outlets continued to report deaths in custody and that the government tortured, physically abused, arrested, disappeared, detained, sentenced to prison, subjected to forced indoctrination in CCP ideology, and harassed adherents of both registered and unregistered religious groups for activities related to their religious beliefs and practices,” said the State Department report. A better president than Biden would have instructed his national security adviser to tell the Chinese Communist Party leaders: Stop your genocide of the Uyghurs and your attacks on religious liberty—or we will stop all imports from you.
