Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is among the handful of GOP senators who hasn’t endorsed Donald Trump for president in the 2024 election. The Kentucky senator explained what he expects from Trump before he provides his endorsement. “I think that it’s important that if he wants to get my vote and my support, wants me to be more active in this, that he’s gonna have to be more vocal on things like the lockdowns that I opposed, like the civil liberties abuses that I opposed, like the debt, which frankly has been bad under Republicans and Democrats,” Paul said. “I’m looking for a little bit more before I make a final decision. I’m supportive of Donald Trump, but whether or not I take an active role, endorse, go out and campaign for him is something that’s yet to be determined,” he added. WATCH: Sen. Fauci told lawmakers that he never tried to steer scientists toward a specific conclusion about the origin of the virus. “I think he’s being disingenuous is the nicest way I can say it,” Paul said Tuesday. Perhaps no one on Capitol Hill has been more critical of Fauci than Paul. Paul told Spectrum News that the people of Kentucky support his focus on the pandemic. “Without question,” Paul said. “There’s also people in Kentucky who still are very upset that our governor actually went in and our mayors went in and said let’s take down the license plates of people in church, let’s close down the restaurants, let’s close down the gyms.” The pandemic contributed to the deaths of more than 19,000 Kentuckians, according to officials. Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., has defended his policies, saying he made the best decisions he could with the information he had. Todd Young Daily Caller reports: Romney, Young, Collins and Murkowski have all said they would not be voting for Trump in 2024. Republican Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford directed the Daily Caller to a tweet to convey his endorsement. “Congratulations to Donald Trump for an overwhelming victory in the Oklahoma Republican primary. Oklahomans want a secure border, a growing economy, lower inflation and a government that does not attack our domestic energy or our values. On to November!” the tweet reads. The Caller followed up to ask for a stronger and clearer endorsement, but Lankford’s team did not respond. A Moran spokesperson told the Caller, “Sen. Moran has a long-standing tradition of not endorsing candidates for public office.” Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley endorsed former President Donald Trump’s 2024 bid in late May in a statement to the Daily Caller.

A while ago, I started picking up on something…. Before they called him “Convicted Felon Donald Trump” the Legacy Media and even some in the so-called Alternative/Independent Media constantly referred to Donald Trump only as “Ex President Trump” or “Former President Trump.” Even the guys over at TrendingPolitics who generally do great work have fallen into the trap of calling him “Former President Trump”: Why is TrendingPolitics referring to Donald Trump as “FORMER President Trump”? That’s a Liberal Media spin job! My entire life, the Media NEVER referred to an ex-President as “Former President _____”. It was always just “President ____” even when out of office. My whole life I always remember Presidents being called “President ____” their entire lives, even when out of office. As a young child, I recall asking people why that is, and the answer I remember being told is that it is out of respect for the office. Once President, always President — at least in terms of the honor of the office. And that’s how I’ve always remembered it my entire life….at least until Donald Trump came around and left office in 2020. Suddenly, he was ONLY to be referred to as “Former President Trump”. It struck me as so very strange, but so much so that I actually started to question if I had just been remembering things wrong. You know, like my own personal little Mandela Effect. Maybe we always called them “Former Presidents” and I just remembered it all wrong. So I finally decided to go back and check for myself. Turns out I wasn’t wrong at all. Turns out in every instance I could find, even when they had been out of office for many years or even decades, it was always still “President”. President Bush. President Obama. President Carter. I am not remembering things wrong…. I’m not having a Mandela Effect moment…. It’s simply true. All other Presidents retain the title of President, while Donald Trump is only allowed to be called “Former President Trump” and now of course “Convicted Felon Trump”. So the next time you hear someone call him “Former President Trump” take a moment to kindly correct them and educate them on the historic use of the title President.  You can even send them this article if you like!
