Protesters have apparently determined that the most effective way to protest President Donald Trump’s changes at The Kennedy Center is by doing an interpretive dance around the building. Yes, really. In a video that surfaced on Wednesday on X, some 30-plus people all walked in a single-file line outside the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, moving in sync as they waved their arms up and down in the air like birds to music playing in the background. At one point in the clip, the group stopped walking and began waving their arms in a circular motion. They then waved like a person would wave to a crowd, played an invisible violin, and then took a stance apparently like they would to defend themselves from being punched.  Videos of the protest were all very strange and many people on social media caught wind of it and mocked the silliness of the performance protest. Do these people have jobs?” one person wrote. Another added, “HAHAHAHAHA libs are dancing at the Kennedy Center to protest the Trump takeover.” While a third wrote, “LMAO. Liberals are protesting to ‘save’ The Kennedy Center.” A fourth added, “NEW: Anti-Trump interpretative dance. Yes, seriously.” One person even pointed out the line of buses that could be seen in the video and wrote, “Protestors at Kennedy Center are so CRINGE! BTW…..Who paid for those buses?” One of the organizers of the protest, dancer and educator Kelly King, called The Nelken Line performance, “symbolic in that we’re moving in unison. And there’s something just compelling to see a straight line of movers dancing this way in a march,” NPR noted. “They were unsure of what they were going to encounter with us,” she added about the security at the center. “And as I spoke to them individually and they saw what we were doing, they realized that we were certainly not a threat. And I think perhaps by the end they were entertained.” King told the outlet that the group decided to protest due to concerns that after Trump’s takeover as chairman of the board, diversity like what was represented in their dance might not continue. However, a spokesperson for the Kennedy Center said, “There have not been changes made to the Center’s dance programming nor are there any changes planned.”  The protest comes after Trump’s announcement that he had terminated most members of the Board of Trustees at the Kennedy Center — including Chairman David Rubenstein — and had taken over the role himself, as previously reported. In a move of desperation, two Ohio Democrats introduced a bill to mock pro-life conservatives, titled the “Conception Begins at Erection Act.”  This bill, proposed by Democratic state Reps. Anita Somani and Tristan Rader, is less a serious legislative proposal and more a pathetic attempt at political commentary. According to the legislation, Ohio men could face fines of up to $10,000 for the sin of ejaculating without the intent to conceive. This is what Democrats have been reduced to on the important political issues of sex and conception. Instead of offering substantive counter-arguments to the pro-life movement, they’ve opted for what can only be described as legislative clowning.  “If you think it’s absurd to regulate men, then you should think it’s equally absurd to regulate women,” Somani said, arguing that protections for unborn babies infringe on a woman’s bodily autonomy. As America longs for strong values and leadership, Democrats remain focused on defending the slaughter of innocent babies and targeting traditional family values. As Daily Wire host Michael Knowles pointed out, “The bill specifically targets heterosexual couples” as it includes exceptions for sperm donors and members of the LGBTQ community.  The exceptions are what make this bill discriminatory and illegal. The Israeli government has developed a plan for receiving the bodies of hostages Kfir Bibas, Ariel Bibas, Shiri Bibas, and Oded Lifshitz. The bodies are expected to be handed over by Hamas to the Red Cross, which will transport them to Israeli forces inside the Gaza Strip. A short ceremony will be held with a rabbi, when the bodies will be placed in coffins draped in Israeli flags. The bodies of four hostages who were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz will be transported in military ambulances to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv for identification. The Israeli government confirmed on Wednesday that it received the list of names of the hostages that will be returned. Once the bodies are identified, families will receive final confirmation of their loved ones and can proceed with the burials. The causes of death are also expected to be investigated. Dr. Chen Kugel, who will lead the identification process with a team of experts, said identifying the bodies of hostages who have been in Gaza for over 500 days may not be possible. “We can use X-rays, weight data comparisons, dental records, and DNA analysis,” Kugel told The Jerusalem Post. “We will do everything possible, but for the slain hostages that have been held for an extended period, identification is not always feasible.” The bodies will first have a CT scan, which will produce a detailed internal image, which specialists will examine and compare to any prior medical records. DNA samples will be sent for laboratory testing, and dental features will be compared to any existing records. The entire process can reportedly take up to two days. “Tomorrow’s upcoming phase is complex and sensitive, and we will make every effort to ensure that the slain hostages are brought to burial as quickly as possible,” said Dr. Hagar Mizrahi, head of the Medical Directorate at the Health Ministry. The Hostages and Missing Families Forum plans to not broadcast any propaganda spectacle during its gathering Thursday in Hostage Square in Tel Aviv. Hamas has paraded living hostages on stages and dragged them through large crowds during handovers. Israeli media outlets have also chosen to not broadcast any Hamas propaganda spectacle after speaking with officials and the families of hostages. Under Jewish law, a body should be buried as quickly as possible, often the same day of death. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video message on Tuesday in Hebrew, in which he said Thursday will be a “very difficult day for the State of Israel.” “A wrenching day, a day of grief,” Netanyahu said. “We are bringing home four of our beloved hostages, deceased. We embrace the families, and the heart of the entire nation is torn. My own heart is torn. So is yours. And all of the world’s heart should be torn, because this demonstrates who we are dealing with, what we are dealing with — with such monsters.” He added that he is determined to ensure that “such a thing never happens again.” “This news cuts like a knife through our hearts, the families’ hearts and the hearts of people all over the world,” The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said in a statement. “They weren’t just names — they were beloved people, with families who cherished them, with dreams and futures stolen from them.” Both the Lifshitz and Bibas families released statements expressing sorrow, but stating they are waiting for final confirmation after the identification process. “For 502 days we hoped and prayed for a different outcome,” the Lifshitz family said in a statement. “However, until we receive absolute certainty, our journey is not over, and even afterwards we will continue to fight until the last hostage is returned.” The Bibas family asked for people to “refrain from eulogizing” their loved ones “until there is confirmation following final identification.” Lifshitz, 84, was a journalist and peace activist who helped found Kibbutz Nir Oz. He was known for transporting sick Gazans to Israeli hospitals. His wife, Yocheved Lifshitz, who was also taken hostage but released in the November 2023 deal, said her husband “fought for the Palestinians his whole life; they betrayed him and took him into hell.” The news of the death of 32-year-old Shiri and her two young children has sparked international outrage. Kfir was nine months old when he was kidnapped and Ariel was 4. Footage of Shiri’s terrified face while holding the two redheaded boys went viral after October 7, making the family a symbol of the horror terrorists inflicted on Israeli civilians during the attack. In November 2023, Hamas forced Shiri’s husband, Yarden Bibas, to record a video announcing the deaths of his wife and kids. Yarden, who was released earlier this month, has reportedly clung to hope that his family is alive. Hamas also released the names of the final six living hostages set to be released from Gaza on Saturday. The list includes Israeli citizens Omer Shem Tov, 22, Omer Wenkert, 23, Eliya Cohen, 27, and Tal Shoham, 30, all of whom were captured by terrorists on October 7. Hisham Al-Sayed, 36, and Avraham (Avera) Mengisto, 39, who have both been hostages in Gaza for about a decade, will also be released. So far, 19 of 33 hostages have been released during the first phase of the ceasefire, along with five Thai hostages who were released as part of a separate deal. Seventy-three hostages remain in captivity, all of but three of whom were abducted on October 7. The fate of those not slated for the first phase has yet to be negotiated. According to the ceasefire agreement, negotiations for phase two were set to begin on February 3, the 16th day, but discussions have not yet commenced.

At least two people were killed Wednesday morning when two small planes collided midair near an airport in southern Arizona, local authorities said. According to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration, “two people were aboard each plane involved in the collision,” The Associated Press reported. Authorities in Marana, located about 25 miles northwest of Tucson, confirmed at least two fatalities. The airport has no air traffic control tower but was planning to construct one before pandemic-related setbacks caused delays. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash but has not yet provided details on whether airfield infrastructure issues or other factors played a role. Authorities have also not confirmed whether weather or mechanical failures contributed to the collision. Additional updates, including the identities of the victims, are pending as law enforcement continues notifying the individuals’ families. Local agencies have urged anyone with firsthand information to contact them directly, emphasizing that witness accounts can help piece together what led to the midair collision. This week’s incident marks the second fatal crash in Arizona within a short span. Last week, one of two pilots died on a private jet in Scottsdale owned by Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil after the aircraft went off the runway and collided with a business jet. The tragedy is one of four in just the last month, including a Delta aircraft that overturned upon landing in Toronto and a commuter plane in Alaska that crashed in remote terrain. In January, a fatal collision involving an American Airlines passenger plane and an Army helicopter in Washington, D.C., claimed 67 lives, while the next day saw the crash of a medical transport flight in Philadelphia that killed seven and injured 19 others.

On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) vouched for giving President Donald Trump “some space” to negotiate an end to the Ukraine-Russia war despite his scathing rhetoric about Ukraine. Trump has blamed Ukraine for the ongoing conflict and called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has complained of not being included in peace talks with Moscow and suggested Trump falling for Russian disinformation, a “dictator without elections.” During a press briefing at the U.S. Capitol, a reporter asked Thune if he was concerned about Trump’s comments given the majority leader’s record of supporting Ukraine and Russia calling into question Zelensky’s legitimacy. “I think what I’m in support of is a peaceful outcome and result in Ukraine,” Thune said in response. “And I think right now the administration, the president, and his team are working to achieve that. And I think right now you got to give them some space, honestly. This is something — this war has ground on now for three years. There’s been a lot of cost, a lot of death, a lot of injury associated with it and I think it’s in everybody’s best interest — Ukraine, Russia, Europe, the United States — if they can bring about a peaceful conclusion to the war. And so that’s what this is about right now, and I think most of us want to support their efforts as they move in that direction hopefully to a successful outcome.” Another journalist then asked Thune if he would call Zelensky a “dictator” as Trump did in a post to Truth Social, to which the Senate majority leader replied: “Well, like I said, the president speaks for himself. Leland Dudek was an obscure bureaucrat at the Social Security Administration who dedicated his career to stopping fraud. But when he worked with the Department of Government Efficiency to do just that, he came close to being fired. “At 4:30pm EST, my boss called me to tell me I had been placed on administrative leave pending an Investigation,” Dudek wrote on LinkedIn. “They want to fire me for cooperating with DOGE,” he wrote in a now-deleted post obtained by The Daily Wire. Then, a stunning reversal occurred. Acting Social Security Commissioner Michelle King, was fired. And Dudek was reinstated — to take her job leading the massive agency on an interim basis. The Washington Post reported that King was fired after refusing to let DOGE access agency data. But it has not been reported that Dudek was facing punishment for cooperating with them. Dudek, a career civil servant, is an example of how there are a few fiscally conscious longtime government employees, and how the Trump administration and DOGE can maximize their impact by joining forces with people who know where the bodies are buried. The LinkedIn post said “I confess. I helped DOGE understand SSA. I mailed myself publicly accessible documents and explained them to DOGE. I confess. I moved contractor money around to add data science resources to my anti-fraud team. I confess. I asked where the fat was and is in our contracts so we can make the right tough choices.” “I confess. I bullied agency executives, shared executive contact information, and circumvented the chain of command to connect DOGE with the people who get stuff done,” it continued. “Everything I have ever done is in service to our country, our beneficiaries, and our agency.” The Social Security Administration and the White House did not return requests for comment. The Social Security commissioner was traditionally appointed to six-year terms and would continue on between presidential administrations. But Joe Biden destroyed that precedent when he fired the person who Trump appointed in his first term. Biden’s Social Security Commissioner, Martin O’Malley, seemed to view agency employees, perhaps even more than taxpayers and beneficiaries, as his constituency. He signed a last-minute deal with the employee union in November 2024 granting them telework through 2029, then resigned days later to run for chair of the Democratic National Committee, leading King to assume the top role on an acting basis. Now, Dudek will serve in that role until Trump’s nominee, Frank Bisignano, is confirmed by the Senate. The Social Security Administration is a prime opportunity to use data to find government waste and fraud, from illegal immigrants using other people’s Social Security numbers to people pretending to be disabled to get benefits.

ABC News attempted to stir the pot with a Tuesday piece talking about the anxiety being caused in immigrant communities — even where the immigrants were in the United States legally — but Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said he could see what they were really up to. In some places, the piece alleged, false alarms had caused panic among immigrant families. In others, real raids had resulted in fearful families keeping their children out of school. “And in Alice, Texas, a school official incorrectly told parents that Border Patrol agents might board school buses to check immigration papers,” the piece continued. Instead of simply going about their daily lives, the article claimed, immigrant families have been struggling with the fear and anxiety that comes with “separating facts from rumor” over the raids. The ABC News piece failed to mention that Border Czar Tom Homan has been very clear about his preference to work directly with law enforcement to first target those who had broken laws in addition to entering the United States illegally — and the raids were primarily the result of sanctuary cities and states refusing to cooperate.
