“Finding Out I’ve Been Pregnant For Months Without Knowing”

One mom was completely shocked to find out that she was expecting another child — and that she’d been pregnant for months without knowing it! Kenna Bangerter shared an emotional video on social media after taking the test. At the time she was beginning to suspect that there might be a baby on the way, but her husband was skeptical. They were both blown away when the test was positive! Not only was Kenna pregnant, but the results seemed to indicate that she had been so for a while without knowing it. Apparently, the line on the test was very dark. These two were so overwhelmed by the news that they burst into hysterical laughter! @kennabang Ive bever cried laughing so hard watching something back omfg #pregnancyannouncement #imcrying ♬ original sound – Noah Kahan Commenters found the couple’s reaction pretty relatable. Many people shared that they, too, experienced uncontrollable laughter in the face of life-changing pregnancy news! “Omg!!” said one user. “That was my same reaction when I just found out myself a couple weeks ago.” Another added, “This was me and my husband when we found out, we literally couldn’t believe it and just laughed the whole time.” At first, this mom thought she was sick from traveling. Screengrab from TikTok Kenna shared in another post that there was a reason she’d been pregnant for so long without knowing about it. While traveling with her family, she and her young son became extremely sick. She thought it was just a case of “Bali belly.” When her symptoms didn’t go away, though, she started to suspect there was something else going on. Once she took the pregnancy test, she went to the doctor. They confirmed that Kenna had actually been pregnant for eight and a half weeks without knowing it! Sadly, the mom was feeling so sick that she couldn’t follow through on the rest of her travel plans with her loved ones. Still, she’s very excited to welcome her third child into the world! Complete List of Saxon Albums And Discography

Saxon was formed in 1977 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England. Saxon released their self-titled debut album in 1979. The lineup that brought them into prominence included Biff Byford (vocals), Paul Quinn (guitar), Graham Oliver (guitar), Steve Dawson (bass), and Pete Gill (drums), though there have been several lineup changes over the years. Saxon quickly became known for their powerful live performances and strong musicianship, characterized by fast-paced, guitar-driven heavy metal. The band achieved substantial commercial success with albums like Wheels of Steel (1980) and Strong Arm of the Law (1980), both of which are regarded as classic heavy metal albums. What's The Oldest Human Burial In The World?

What's The Oldest Human Burial In The World?

At what point in our evolution did humankind start to grapple with the concept of death and mark our mortality with graves? It’s hard to tell without the knowledge of a time-traveling philosopher, but we can learn a lot from the archaeological history of early human burials. Some of the earliest evidence of intentional burials comes from the Qafzeh Cave in Israel, home to 25 human graves spanning tens of thousands of years. The bodies are widely believed to have been intentionally buried here, owing to the dozens of funerary objects at the site, such as seashells and relics tinted with red ocher. The oldest of the skeletons dates back to at least 100,000 years ago, according to a 1993 study, although other papers have suggested they might be as old as 130,000 years old. This dating could be considered to be surprisingly early as it’s long before the Upper Paleolithic (roughly 50,000 to 12,000 years), a period when evidence reflects how human behavior became notably more complex in the form of abstract thinking, symbolic behavior, and technological development.Burials are often thrown into the class of “advanced” behaviors, along with things like creating artworks and wearing personal ornaments, as it hints at an awareness of abstract concepts, individual identity, and impermanence. However, the truth is perhaps not so clear-cut (a bit more on that later). The burials at Qafzeh Cave were Homo sapiens, but elsewhere in the surrounding region we can in equally old evidence of burials by our sister species, Neanderthals, who may have been intentionally burying their dead around 120,000 years ago.The Qafzeh Cave is found here in the Jezreel Valley of Lower Galilee, north Israel.Image credit: RnDmS/Shutterstock.comIn Africa, there’s concrete evidence of human burials that date to at least 78,000 years ago. A 2021 study identified the burial of a young Homo sapien child in a cave near the coast of East Africa in modern-day Kenya, providing clear evidence the burial was intentional. If you’re a fan of science documentaries on Netflix, you might be aware of the sensational show UNKNOWN: Cave Of Bones. It focuses on the work of paleontologist Lee Berger in South’s Africa Rising Star Cave which claims to have found evidence that an extinct human relative with a tiny brain called Homo naledi buried its dead over 240,000 years ago. It’s a fascinating watch, but hasn’t convinced many other researchers. A peer review of Berger’s articles found that the evidence was “incomplete and inadequate,” and it has been broadly rejected by the wider scientific community.Burials might be just a small part of the wider picture, however. Today, many cultures around the world practice funerary rituals that don't leave a trace by effectively ridding the physical body from Earth, most notably cremation and the scattering of ashes (or yeeting them into space). There are also "Sky Burials" practiced in Tibet and other parts of Asia where human corpses are left on a mountaintop to decompose or be picked apart by scavenging vultures. Both these practices are steeped in ritualistic complexity, yet they leave little trace, let alone any physical evidence that will last thousands of years to be studied by future humans.  It’s also worth considering burials don’t always indicate some “deep” understanding of mortality. It’s easy to imagine that burials started as a way to keep corpses away from scavengers or help to control diseases and smells associated with decomposing bodies. Nevertheless, the question of when humans started burying their dead is central to our understanding of ourselves as it marks a key milestone in the development of cognitive abilities, social complexity, and perhaps even our understanding of death. In an excellently titled 2016 article on "Love and Death in the Stone Age", author Mary Stiner concluded: “[B]urial may reveal the first demonstrably ritualized bridge between the living and the deceased in human evolutionary history."

A Huge Event In Its Past Made Uranus Tilt Sideways

A Huge Event In Its Past Made Uranus Tilt Sideways

Uranus is filled with surprises and mysteries to solve. As well as probably containing a lot more methane than we thought, there are a few other strange things we found about Uranus when scientists first started looking into it. For instance, why is Uranus (and fellow ice giant Neptune) so far out in the solar system – and why is Uranus so weirdly lopsided? The planet likely formed around 4.5 billion years ago, as gravity caused dust and gas to clump together into the swirling collection of mostly fluids. In their current positions, as far out as they are, Uranus and its fellow ice giant Neptune would not have been able to pick up enough material to form. Instead, scientists believe that the ice giants were formed closer to the Sun where this protoplanetary material was more dense, before migrating outwards to their current positions. During the planets' formation, they likely helped create the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, sending rocks flying inwards as they migrated.Unusual among the planets and the two ice giants, Uranus also appears to orbit the sun on its side.     "Uranus is the only planet whose equator is nearly at a right angle to its orbit, with a tilt of 97.77 degrees. This may be the result of a collision with an Earth-sized object long ago," NASA explains. "This unique tilt causes Uranus to have the most extreme seasons in the solar system. For nearly a quarter of each Uranian year, the Sun shines directly over each pole, plunging the other half of the planet into a 21-year-long, dark winter."Though the leading hypothesis is that Uranus took a colossal pounding from an object roughly twice the size of Earth.“Uranus spins on its side, with its axis pointing almost at right angles to those of all the other planets in the Solar System," lead author Jacob Kegerreis, PhD researcher at Durham University, said in a 2018 statement following research simulating such an impact. "This was almost certainly caused by a giant impact, but we know very little about how this actually happened and how else such a violent event affected the planet.“Our findings confirm that the most likely outcome was that the young Uranus was involved in a cataclysmic collision with an object twice the mass of Earth, if not larger, knocking it on to its side and setting in process the events that helped create the planet we see today.”There are alternative possibilities, perhaps explaining why Neptune did not suffer a similar collision in the early days of the Solar System. It's possible that Uranus had a companion, a large moon that slowly nudged the planet into its current tilt as it drifted away, though simulations show that the satellite would only have to be about a thousandth of the mass of the planet itself. Our own Moon is also drifting away, and impacting the spin of our own planet as it does so.For now, the colossal impact remains the leading hypothesis. We will only find more evidence by looking closer at Uranus, and maybe using a probe.

Column: The Washington Post's 'Rambunctious Rah-Rah' Coverage of Tim Walz

The Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos, but it reads like it’s owned by the Democratic National Committee. Consider the bias by omission. On August 9, Washington Examiner reporter Gabe Kaminsky found an uncomfortable story. “Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, on at least five occasions as governor of Minnesota, hosted a Muslim cleric who celebrated Hamas‘s Oct. 7 attack last year on Israel and promoted a film popular among Neo-Nazis that glorifies Adolf Hitler.” After Hamas terrorists slaughtered 1,200 civilians, Imam Asad Zaman wrote he “stands in solidarity with Palestinians against Israeli attacks.” The group Zaman leads, the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, said in a statement it “reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli occupation.” A few days later, Kaminsky obtained exclusive video of Walz praising Zaman as a “master teacher.” He proclaimed, “I would like to first of all say thank you to imam. I am a teacher, so when I see a master teacher, I know it.”   In response, the Harris campaign put out a statement that Walz does not “have a personal relationship” with Zaman, which is plainly false. When it comes to appearing with leaders who endorse Hitler and terrorism, Walz’s fervent words of praise were enough of a political indictment. The Washington Post is a Democrat rag, so it can’t touch this. Search for Asad Zaman on their website, and you will find three stories on a Minnesota mosque bombing in 2017. In one, Zaman was quoted as saying “Hate is not okay….We need an America where people are safe with their neighbors.” “Hate is not okay,” said the man who celebrated the Hamas slaughter of October 7. By contrast, a search for “Trump” and white supremacist and anti-Semite “Nick Fuentes” gives you 404 stories. One story centers on Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell warning anyone meeting with anti-Semites is unlikely to ever be elected president. Instead of covering the story of Walz’s gushing praise of a pro-Hamas and pro-Hitler imam, the Post on August 14 carried a story headlined “As ‘Coach Walz,’ VP pick left an impression as a gung ho, hands-on leader.” If you found the Post story online, the headline was even more positive: Tim Walz as football coach: A rambunctious, rah-rah joker “Coach Walz was like Coach Taylor,” one player said, referencing to the beloved fictional coach from the series “Friday Night Lights.” “Only a bit kinder and nicer.” Reporter-activists Ben Strauss and Ben Terris found all the good news they could muster from the old days at Mankato West High School. “In interviews, more than 10 players and coaches who overlapped with Walz universally described him as a high-energy coach who specialized in rah-rah speeches and an avuncular and hands-on leader who didn’t mind a practical joke and helped transform a woebegone program into a state champion.” Could the Post find anyone who didn’t like Tim Walz? Did they get someone to organize a Walz Fan Club for this story so he could be “universally described” as a terrific guy? It’s reminiscent of 2012, when Washington Post editor David Maraniss churned out a 600-page book on Barack Obama that eviscerated Obama’s autobiography as filled with phony stories. But the Post avoided that. It only published an excerpt on the front page of a Sunday sports section about Obama’s love of basketball, and how it helped him “find his way toward blackness.” The Washington Post isn’t trustworthy in informing the voters. It is trustworthy in underlining positive Democrat narratives and squashing the negative ones.
