Trump Introduces RFK Jr. At Rally, Announces Creation Of New Presidential Commission

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump introduced Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at his rally in Arizona on Friday just a couple of hours after RFK Jr. announced he was suspending his campaign and endorsing Trump. Kennedy walked out on stage to a roaring crowd and fireworks while Foo Fighters’ “My Hero” blasted through the arena like a rock concert. “Tonight, I am very pleased to welcome a man who has been an incredible champion for so many of these values we all share,” Trump said. “For the past 16 months, Robert F. Kennedy Junior has run an extraordinary campaign for President of the United States. Had he been allowed to enter the Democrat primary, he would have beaten Joe Biden.” “His candidacy has inspired millions of Americans, raised critical issues that have been too-long ignored, and brought together people from across the political spectrum in a positive campaign grounded in the American values of his father, Robert Kennedy, and his uncle, President Kennedy,” he added. “I believe they would both be very proud.” UNITE AMERICA.#RFKJr #trump pic.twitter.com/f5NXgxdRJs — Robert F. Trump announced that in honor of Bobby, he would create a new commission to investigate and release information about presidential assassination attempts. “In honor of Bobby, I am announcing tonight that upon my election, I will establish a new independent presidential commission on Assassination Attempts,” he said. “They will be tasked with releasing all remaining documents pertaining to President John F. Kennedy’s assassination and other events in question, and they also will conduct a rigorous review of the attack last month in Butler.” PRESIDENT TRUMP: Soon after I was nearly assassinated in Pennsylvania last month, Bobby called me to express his best wishes. RFK Jr. Explains Why He Decided To Drop Out, Endorse Trump

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s rally in Arizona on Friday night where he explained why he decided to endorse the former president. Kennedy’s remarks came after he announced earlier in the day that he was suspending his campaign and being removed from the ballot in swing states because he did not want to help Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris by staying in the race. He said that he got a call from Trump on the night that Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, by a would-be assassin. “We had a very good talk, and then he invited me to come see him the next day, and I went to Minneapolis and saw him,” he said. “We met again a couple of weeks later in Florida, and we talked not about the things that separate us because we don’t agree on everything, but on the values and the issues that bind us together. And one of the issues that he talked about was having safe food and ending the chronic disease epidemic.” “Our children are now the unhealthiest, sickest children in the world,” he continued. “Don’t you want healthy children? And don’t you want the chemicals out of our food? And don’t you want the regulatory agencies to be free from corporate corruption? And that’s what President Trump told me that he wanted.” Kennedy said that Trump signaled he wanted to end censorship from the political Left in the U.S. Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. “We know that a government that can silence its opponents has license for any kind of atrocity,” he said. “And can you think of any time that you can look back in history and say that the people who were censoring were the good guys? They’re always the bad guys, because it’s always the first step down that slippery slope to totalitarianism.” RFK Jr. said that Trump would “protect America’s freedoms” and “make America healthy again.” WATCH: .@RobertKennedyJr takes the stage in Arizona! ? pic.twitter.com/qXb3TjJOcJ — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) August 24, 2024

‘Sound of History’; CBS Swoons Kamala’s DNC Speech Was ‘Feat of Political Athleticism’

Despite co-host, Obama family friend, and Kamala Harris donor Gayle King getting an early start on the weekend, Friday’s CBS Mornings still had plenty of partisan lunacy reacting to the final night of the Democratic National Convention and describing Kamala Harris’s speech that “echo[ed] Obama” and “[brought] down the house” with “[t]he sound of history” and “a feat of political athleticism.” Later, CBS’s Major Garrett found a way to beclown himself by zooming out on the campaign and describing her as “the new person” and “challenger” like Bill Clinton in 1992 and Barack Obama in 2008, making Trump the incumbent in an election where abortion, he asserted, “will be the most underlying, most pivotal, most motivating issue” that will decide the election (and not the economy, inflation, border, etc.). As always, the teases gave us something. Here was featured co-host Vladimir Duthiers: “Vice President Harris brings down the house as she formally accepts her party’s nomination for president of the United States.” Leading the show’s coverage from the DNC, co-host Tony Dokoupil said Harris “echo[ed] Obama that” her story “is only possible in America and on the issues, her promise to voters is change and opportunity” with a sense of “security and dignity and balance” restored. Senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang proclaimed that, with Harris officially accepting the party’s nomination, “[t]he sound of history in the making” rang out in the United Center with Harris “vow[ing] to fight for the future.” CBS News contributor and former Obama official Joel Payne obviously loved the speech, but how much? Well, he dubbed it “the perfect game” to borrow a baseball analogy, adding in another that “last night was a feat of political athleticism” with a speech that was “difficult” after having “navigated” “valleys...to keep” the Democratic “coalition together” since President Biden quit the race. “It was a patriotic speech. It was a speech that was very strong on defense, a lot of pride and talk of democracy,” Dokoupil replied. This queued Payne up to gush Harris “reclaimed the freedom mantle” and “[rode]...the emotion and the energy of the crowd”, adding she showed “political athleticism” in particular when discussing the Israel vs. Hamas war. The second half-hour had another trademark Dokoupil man-on-the-street segment. This time, it was with DNC attendees, which revealed they “actually don’t really need a detailed platform to feel that they already know exactly what she stands for.” Here were two key passages (click “expand”): DOKOUPIL: When Hillary Clinton ran for president in 2016, she had more than 200 different policy proposals, a level of detail Joe Biden matched with a 110-page policy pitch in 2020, both packed with lots of interviews. JOE BIDEN: We have to bring the middle class back. We have to have a health care policy that makes sense. HARRIS: How are you doing, Hannah? DOKOUPIL: Harris, by contrast, hasn’t done a single major media interview or even added a policy section to her campaign website, and that’s perfectly fine, at least for these Democratic delegates. WOMAN: Everything is happening really fast. Give her a minute, and you’ll hear everything that you need to hear. DOKOUPIL: They say voters already know exactly where she stands on reproductive rights, and she started rolling out some economic policies, too. Beyond that, they’re not worried. WOMAN #1: She has been at the White House for four years. She knows the policies, she’s been doing on-the-job training for four years. That’s the kicker. WOMAN #2: She’s not going to move far off the policies where we are now, if she moved it all as far as President Biden hatch, after all, she was his vice president. DOKOUPIL: And yet — she’s not going to take all the policies of the Biden administration, right? WOMAN #2: No. DOKOUPIL: More than a third of Americans say they don’t know where Kamala Harris stands. HARRIS: We will chart a new way forward. DOKOUPIL: And when you get down to specific issues, neither do a lot of the people who voted to nominate her. Energy policy? Is she for all the above? Is she for limiting oil and gas? What? WOMAN: Is she for all that? DOKOUPIL: I don’t know. WOMAN #1: Well, I don’t need either. WOMAN #2: You know, I think what we’re looking at is trying to figure that out. DOKOUPIL: What’s her position on marijuana legalization? MAN: I’m waiting. I’m waiting to hear with you on the same on those issues. DOKOUPIL: But whatever the policies of a potential Harris administration, many folks here are certain they’ll be better than the alternative. MAN: We can’t go back to Trump. I think the values of democracy, that I put time and effort to become a citizen, to defend and protect. I feel that’s an insult what happened. (....) DOKOUPIL: Two points, of course, that I grant on the Democrats’ behalf is that the other side, well, they have put a mosh pit of policies together over the years, about as fixed as a plate of Jell-O, and then, on the other hand, if she were to roll out all of these detailed policies right away, that would be suspicious as well, who wrote them? The reality is, policy is hard. It takes time to get there, and ultimately, what these voters, these delegates, told me is that they know she’s going to have to work with Congress. It’s not clear who’s going to control those Houses of Congress and the reality is, if she has an idea of what her values are, shares it with the voters and tells you where she wants to go, the details are going to get worked out later. This led into Garrett with his analogy that Trump has been turned into the incumbent with Harris — despite being the sitting Vice President for nearly four years (and Trump out of office for that long) — the “challenger” akin to Clinton in 1992: [T]hat speech last night clarifies one aspect of this campaign, who is the challenger and who is the face of incumbency? Joe Biden was the face of incumbency until he dropped out. Kamala Harris, with that speech said, I’m the challenger. I’m the new person, and I have to introduce myself, explain who I am, what I am in a way that Bill Clinton did in 1992 when he was the challenger, Barack Obama did in 2008. She did not give the incumbent administrative speech. She gave I’m the introducing speech. I’m the challenger. This is what frustrates the Trump campaign so much. This arrow of incumbency, has that which incumbency is not just a job title, it’s a state of mind, and it shifted in Trump’s direction. Trump is now the hyper familiar face of American politics for now, going on 10 years, and he’s trying to get out of that. And this convention was a way for Harris to say, I’m the challenger. We have possibilities. There is something new. Asked by fill-in co-host Jericka Duncan if policy still matters, Garrett replied that “it does matter” and offered the second screwball take: “[T]his election will be the first national presidential campaign post the end of Roe vs. Wade. On that directional matter, Harris is clear, and I believe that will be the underlying, most pivotal, most motivating issue in the country.”       On a more positive note, the fact-check lead off the second hour, including one major talking point of the left that the Trump tax cuts were (only) for the rich. The others concerned the national debt and tariffs (click “expand”):     HARRIS: He doesn’t actually fight for the middle class. Instead, he fights for himself and his billionaire friends, and he will give them another round of tax breaks that will add up to $5 trillion to the national debt. (....) DOKOUPIL: On that first claim that Donald Trump wants to pass tax cuts for the rich, adding $5 trillion to the national debt in the process, that’s misleading, according to our CBS News confirm team, which is a term, of course, that could be applied to a lot of our political speech, but I digress. Here’s how they got to that label. Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts did indeed lower taxes for the rich, aka high income earners. But here’s the thing, it also lower taxes for most households. So, in the short term, most people, not only the rich would benefit from these tax cuts being extended. All of that, by the way, according to the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation and the nonpartisan, Tax Policy Center. Now, Kamala Harris’s claim about the national debt going up, she was right about that, although it increased by $4.6 trillion, not $5 trillion she rounded up by a couple hundred billion on this, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. All right, let’s take a look at the next one. HARRIS: All the while, he intends to enact what in effect is a national sales tax, call it a Trump tax, that would raise prices on middle class families by almost $4,000.00 a year. DOKOUPIL: So here’s what’s happening here. Donald Trump supports tariffs on foreign goods, and Kamala Harris says that those tariffs would end up costing American families. She calls them a tax. So, is it a tax? Well, that’s a partially true claim, according to our CBS News confirm team, and here’s the context they provide. Economists tell us that consumers would feel this tariff because the cost would be passed on and the prices would definitely spike for normal household goods, but Harris’s numbers are off. That 10 percent tariff combined with a 60 percent tariff on Chinese imports will cost about $1,800.00 per household in 2025. Significant, yes, but not $4,000.00. All of this, according to the nonpartisan, Tax Policy Center. The Obi-Wan factor: 5 celebs whose cancellation made them stronger

A classic “Star Wars” line speaks volumes about today’s culture. Two, actually.“I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” Han Solo warned in “Star Wars,” a sentiment that applies to virtually every part of America in 2024.Wallen’s fans recognized both his contrite nature and the two-tier approach to his 'crime.' A Biden family member? Move along, nothing to see here. A beloved country star? Get ‘em!The other? “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine,” Alec Guinness’ Obi-Wan Kenobi told Darth Vader moments before the villain did just that. And, spoiler alert, Vader regretted it.The modern left has tried to cancel several prominent personalities in recent years. Yet, one by one, they not only survived but came back stronger than ever.In no particular order.Bari WeissThe New York Times scribe famously fled the paper in 2020 via a scathing open letter. The left-leaning journalist had had enough of the Old Gray Lady’s extreme bias. The newspaper, in turn, refused to defend her against fellow employees. They called Weiss a Nazi, a racist, and more. The paper likely figured Weiss would wish she had clammed up and took the abuse.Hardly.Weiss picked herself up and joined the Substack revolution. Her newsletter quickly became one of the platform’s most popular feeds. And she wasn’t done.Weiss went on to create The Free Press, a news outlet dedicated to news, not narrative. The platform became so successful, the New York Times ran a snippy profile on Weiss and her new creation earlier this month. The newspaper that couldn’t defend her against gross accusations now sees her as more than a rival. Her Free Press is a threat to its news monopoly.Joe RoganThe Spotify superstar already stood atop the podcasting world in 2021. And then the usual suspects — as well as a posse of aging rock rebels — allied to bring him down.Rogan took an adversarial tone to the left’s pandemic response. "Wait," he said. "Why can’t we talk to vaccine critics like Dr. Robert Malone? Should young, healthy people take an experimental vaccine? And if Rogan’s doctors said to take ivermectin as part of a 'kitchen sink' approach to battling COVID-19, why not?"Rogan didn’t get every pandemic-related item right. Neither did any corporate media outlet, and Rogan never claimed to be a news source. But by questioning The Narrative(TM) he drew the ire of Neil Young and, by extension, the left. Young yanked his music from Spotify, demanding the company release Rogan. Fellow AARP icons Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash, and David Crosby followed suit. The left, smelling blood in the water, unearthed old footage during which Rogan used the N-word. He said it without malice and never taunting a person of color, but the lowlight reel forced a rare apology from the comic podcaster.Things looked grim, and the liberal press piled on.Except Spotify CEO Daniel Ek stood by Rogan. And, when the smoke cleared, the podcaster renewed his contract and returned to outside platforms like iTunes and YouTube, drastically expanding his cultural reach.Rogan later spearheaded a comedy revolution in Austin, Texas. His Comedy Mothership is the city’s unofficial stand-up hub, and major talents like Roseanne Barr, Tyler Fischer, Tom Segura, and Tony Hinchcliffe relocated to Austin to partake in Rogan’s free expression revolution. The 2024 Rogan is bolder than ever, exposing media bias and pushing free speech from his Spotify perch.Shane GillisThe husky stand-up forged his fame via his self-deprecating delivery and apolitical musings. He even caught the eye of Lorne Michaels, the guru behind “Saturday Night Live.”Gillis signed on to join the show’s 45th season, giving the show a voice that wasn’t part of the doctrinaire left.He had arrived, but social justice warriors begged to differ. They found some of his old podcast routines featuring crude Asian imitations. Gillis was gone, having never set foot on “SNL’s” hallowed stage. Some SNL regulars fade into the Hollywood woodwork following their show exit. Surely Gillis would fare the same, if not worse.Except he refused to slink away.Gillis leaned on YouTube, his loyal fan base, and social media to rebuild his brand. And it worked. He became part of the comedy rebellion, stand-ups who refused to play by the left’s rules. He was neither conservative nor liberal. He was ... funny. And his star just kept rising.Need proof? SNL swallowed its corporate pride and invited Gillis on to host an episode earlier this year. That, plus a starring role in the Netflix comedy series “Tires,” proved Gillis out-hustled his critics.Megyn KellyThe Fox News superstar left the channel in 2017 for a cushy daytime gig at NBC. Her self-titled talk show struggled in the ratings, leaving her vulnerable on two fronts. Her Fox News fame had left a permanent target on her back. Weak ratings meant the Peacock network’s investment wasn’t panning out.So when during a discussion about "offensive" Halloween costumes Kelly wondered aloud why blackface was out of bounds, the left pounced. Kelly’s apology wasn’t enough. That gave NBC an excuse to cut ties with Kelly even though the network was on the hook for part of her remaining salary. It seemed unlikely Kelly would slink back to Fox News, and the blackface “scandal” meant no mainstream outlet would take a chance on her. She turned to podcasting, marshalling her velvety voice and hard-news chops to lap the competition. It worked. The show caught fire, attracting major news players and celebrities alike. The podcast grew and grew, catching the eye of SiriusXM suits. The satellite service snatched “The Megyn Kelly Show” up, acknowledging its power in an increasingly cluttered media landscape. Why? Kelly’s brand of reportage is smart, sophisticated, and backed by facts. She slices through corporate media lies and offers transparency at a time when it’s sorely needed. She even snagged a voice gig on “Mr. Birchum,” the Daily Wire’s irreverent cartoon series to cap her improbably comeback.Morgan WallenThe country music star angered the left by defying COVID-19 protocols early in the pandemic. And, as a straight, white country crooner, he checked more unwelcome boxes on the identity politics ledger. In February 2021, TMZ leaked footage of a drunken Wallen uttering the “N-word.” He didn’t target a person of color, it was just dumb talk amongst friends. Very dumb talk.Wallen’s career evaporated overnight.Radio stations boycotted his music. His representatives cut ties with him. Country music awards shows blocked him from attending their galas.Wallen apologized, went to rehab, and appeared genuinely forlorn about the matter.Few stars have fallen that far, that fast, for a word uttered away from the stage and without malice. Months later, we’d learn that first son Hunter Biden repeatedly used the N-word in text messages.Zero repercussions.Wallen’s fans recognized both his contrite nature and the two-tier approach to his “crime.” A Biden family member? Move along, nothing to see here. A beloved country star? Get ‘em!Wallen gingerly crept back into the spotlight, and his fans were waiting for him. And how.“Morgan Wallen Dominated The American Music Industry In 2023 Like No One Else Could,” screamed the Forbes.com headline.
