Worst Media Outburst of the DNC, Night Two: Wagner Claims Trumpers Fear Harris Will End ‘White Patriarchy’

It’s a challenging task but we here at NewsBusters are going to try to sift through all the crazy, angry and ridiculous observations made by leftist journalists every night of the Democratic National Convention coverage and pick one for Worst of the Night. So without further ado, the Worst Media Outburst for Tuesday night goes to MSNBC anchor Alex Wagner for excitedly proclaiming the idea of a President Kamala Harris has to be “distressing” if you are “a part of the white patriarchy like Donald Trump” and his “supporters.”     “So nobody’s ready to write the epigraph for the Trump years, but I do think, you know, it’s a powerful suggestion, right? That Barack Obama is the future. That Kamala Harris is the future and that Donald Trump is the past. And indeed, that demographic reality lies at the core of so much of Donald Trump’s power over his audience, right? The idea that a multicultural inclusive America is actually the road we’re heading down, and that the sort of white patriarchal society that allowed Donald Trump to profiteer as much as he has is going into the rear view, right? That’s a powerful, distressing idea if you are part of the white patriarchy like Donald Trump.  And the supporters who see change, who see people like Barack Obama, who see people like Kamala Harris, you know, multi-ethnic, multi-racial progressive leaders, and are scared of that vision, right? The idea that this might be the norm. And that Trumpism and MAGAism are the things of yesterday, veering their heads for one last gasp? Man, that’s powerful stuff.”— MSNBC host Alex Wagner on night two of MSNBC’s live coverage of the Democratic National Convention, August 20.     MONDAY'S WORST OF THE NIGHT       Anchor Linsey Davis: “Former President Donald Trump is expected to go campaign in Howell, Michigan tomorrow. Many people are aware that a month ago, in Howell, KKK protesters marched in the streets with the white robes on and suggested that they support Donald Trump. I’m curious if you make anything about that connection and him going in particularly to Howell tomorrow.”Governor Gretchen Whitmer: “Well, you know, anyone who’s doing a little bit of research might have said ‘that’s really a bad idea, look at the optics.’ You’re showing up where the KKK was just at the same time you’re in Michigan. I mean, this is a— I think — a troubling strategy that we see from the other side to divide us and to scare us and to stoke fear and anger.  — ABC’s Your Voice/Your Vote: Democratic National Convention, August 19.    Please return to this space for the rest of the week to find out who had the most obnoxious take of the night.

SHOOT TO KILL? NPR Airs Adam Kinzinger Comparing Trump to Enemy in Trench Warfare

Leftist media outlets like National Public Radio may not have forgotten entirely about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but it doesn’t enter their brains when “Republicans for Harris” compare Trump to an enemy in mortal combat. In this case, it’s Pelosi-Picked Panelist Adam Kinzinger. In a “Republicans for Harris” booster story on Tuesday’s Morning Edition, NPR reporter Ben Giles touted how Kinzinger says America's democracy is under threat this fall: “Do we want our kids and our grandkids to be raised in a democracy that is as healthy as the one we were raised in or not? And I think I do.” Then it turns to talk of trench warfare: BEN GILES: On a Zoom call to rally more Arizona Republicans to Harris' cause, Kinzinger acknowledged there's plenty to disagree with the vice president about when it comes to policy. But those concerns are secondary to what he called the imminent threat of a second Trump term in the White House. ADAM KINZINGER: If I'm sitting in a trench and I have an enemy that's 5 meters away and I have an enemy that's 40 meters away, well, I'm going to focus all my attention on the guy that's 5 meters away from me. That's my threat. And that's what we're doing now is that threat to democracy. That 40 meters away are the things we disagree about. We can deal with that later. Kinzinger, who was an Air Force pilot, is talking about shooting the enemy five meters away, not the 120 to 150 meters that was the Trump’s shooter's location. But Giles moved right along to cooing over how the Republicans for Harris list in Arizona grew to a hundred: “In Arizona, the effort is growing by word of mouth. When the state coalition of Republicans for Harris launched more than two weeks ago, it boasted about 40 members. Membership doubled in about 48 hours, according to the Harris campaign, and now has about 100 Republicans backing the vice president.” Kinzinger is scheduled to speak at the Democrat convention on the final night on Thursday.

Democrat former presidential candidate Rep. Phillips laments rushed process to nominate Kamala Harris

The second-place finisher in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), regrets that his party did not follow a more democratic process to nominate Kamala Harris after Joe Biden dropped his bid for a second term last month."My core principle is that competition is the vitamin of democracy and that, yes, we should have run a different process from the beginning, which was simply to invite other candidates. That didn’t happen," Phillips told Breitbart News at the DNC on Monday.'We should be enhancing competition, encouraging debate, welcoming candidates, not suppressing and not discouraging.'Phillips also hinted to Nexstar that he feels vindicated for primarying Biden, sounding the alarm bells last fall that the 81-year-old president needed to step aside in favor of younger candidates."'I told you so' has never served me well, and I think we can all relate to that in our personal and professional relationships," Phillips said.In an interview with Fox News Digital, Phillips admitted that his primary run angered many of his fellow Democrats, but he insisted that many of those relationships have since been mended."I’ve had a lot of wonderful reach outs and hugs and high-fives from a lot of interesting corners of the party," he told the outlet."Just on a very personal, human level, it feels good, kind of like being back at the popular table in the cafeteria," he shared with Nexstar. At the DNC, Phillips expressed gratitude that Biden ultimately left the race and even suggested that Kamala Harris is the right candidate to replace Biden. Phillips just wishes the DNC delegates had gone about nominating her a different way."It worked out well this time, but that won’t always be the case. And we were this close, this close to what I’d call another democratic disaster, and I want to be wary of that in the future," he explained to Breitbart News."Generally speaking, yes, we should be enhancing competition, encouraging debate, welcoming candidates, not suppressing and not discouraging."Though some in his party apparently had misgivings for some time about a possible second Biden term, Phillips was the only person to openly challenge the president. Phillips' campaign, however, never gained much traction as Democrat primary voters overwhelmingly stuck by Biden. At a particularly low point in the primary process, Phillips held an outdoor coffee event in New Hampshire in January — and not a single prospective voter attended."Sometimes if you build it, they don’t come," he reportedly joked at the time.In the end, Phillips dropped out of the primary in March, having garnered just five total delegates to Biden's 3,900. Even in his home state of Minnesota, Phillips ran a distant third place behind Biden and "uncommitted."Harris did not even participate in the primary and did not earn a single primary vote. Yet, almost as soon as Biden dropped out, state delegates announced their support for her. Still, Phillips is pleased with the results. "I think, in light of what did transpire, there’s no better outcome that we could have hoped for than the one that actually transpired," he told Breitbart News on Monday."I knew it’d probably cost my career, probably cost some friendships, probably cost my standing in this party — and it did. But I’m celebrating today because the objective, at least half of it, has been achieved," he added to Fox News Digital.Like Blaze News? Federal government did not properly track up to 320,000 unaccompanied minors: 'No assurance' they are 'safe from trafficking'

A new disturbing report from the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General found that the federal government has not been properly tracking the whereabouts of approximately 320,000 unaccompanied migrant minors. As such, it cannot guarantee the children are not being subjected to trafficking and exploitation. The August 19 report from Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, whom former President Donald Trump nominated, revealed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been unable to monitor the status of hundreds of thousands of children released from the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Health and Human Services custody. 'Without an ability to monitor the location and status of UCs, ICE has no assurance UCs are safe from trafficking, exploitation, or forced labor.'Unaccompanied minors who cross the southern border are apprehended by Customs and Border Protection and then transferred to HHS, which is responsible for finding and vetting sponsors for the children. In theory, these sponsors are supposed to be close relatives of the minors; however, under the Biden-Harris administration, the immigration system has become so overwhelmed that HHS employees are pressured to make placements quickly, and therefore, sponsors are not thoroughly vetted to ensure they are actually related to the child. In 2021, federal employees blew the whistle on the department, claiming that it was putting children in "dangerous" situations, including likely placing minors with traffickers. One of those HHS whistleblowers, Tara Lee Rodas, previously testified that the agency "lost immediate contact with" 85,000 unaccompanied alien children. A July report from the Wall Street Journal revealed that the Biden-Harris administration "repeatedly overrode the concerns of lower-level workers" and housed the children with guardians who had previously been rejected as sponsors. The recent report from the inspector general found an "urgent issue," warning that "ICE cannot always monitor the location and status of unaccompanied migrant children who are released from DHS and HHS custody." According to the report, of the 448,000 unaccompanied minors from fiscal years 2019 to 2023 transferred from ICE custody to HHS, 32,000 failed to appear for their immigration court hearings. Additionally, as of May, ICE did not serve Notice to Appear documents to more than 291,000 minors."Although we identified more than 32,000 UCs who did not appear for their immigration court dates, that number may have been much larger had ICE issued NTAs to the more than 291,000 UCs who were not placed into removal proceedings. By not issuing NTAs to all UCs, ICE limits its chances of having contact with UCs when they are released from HHS' custody, which reduces opportunities to verify their safety. Without an ability to monitor the location and status of UCs, ICE has no assurance UCs are safe from trafficking, exploitation, or forced labor," the report read.ICE told ABC News that the interim report's findings may be "misleading and may be misconstrued because they fail to acknowledge key facts." According to the agency, it does not issue NTAs to unaccompanied children "until after they have been placed with sponsors who have been vetted by HHS."Rob Law with the America First Policy Institute responded to the inspector general's report on social media, writing, "The day after the [Democratic National Committee] endorsed amnesty for human traffickers, the DHS Inspector General confirms that Biden-Harris handed over ~320k unaccompanied alien children back to the traffickers. This is FAR WORSE than the 85k lost UAC previously reported by NYT."Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Tim Walz a ‘gutless fraud’ who praises a 'HITLER-promoting cleric'

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) may act as though he was a leader on the battlefield, but he’s actually only a leader when it comes to the “sickest parts of our culture.” “The mutilation of children’s genitalia, he’s a leader. Without parental notification, he’s a leader. Abortion on demand, without limits, even parental notification, he’s a leader. Tampons in the boys' room, he’s a leader,” Mark Levin says, disgusted. However, when his unit was being deployed — he turned and ran. “A gutless fraud, that’s what he is,” Levin says, before noting that it gets worse. Walz isn’t only on the front lines of stashing tampons in the boys' bathroom but of aligning himself with radical Islamists as well. “You have the American Muslim Society you have in various states, like in Minnesota, which is where this Imam comes in,” Levin begins. Imam Asad Zaman, Levin points out, is a Hitler-promoting cleric. “He has been embraced by Walz. Walz gave him $100,000 of taxpayer money in Minnesota. And they’re up for another $25,000 — and he hasn’t stopped it,” Levin says. Walz also called Zaman a “master teacher” at an Islamic Center event. “I would like to first of all say thank you to Imam. I am a teacher, so when I see a master teacher, I know it,” Walz said at the August 13 event. “One of the things I’ve had the privilege of is seeing the things in life through the eye of a master teacher,” he continued. “A master teacher who’s a Hitlerian,” Levin charges. “Who’s promoting the extermination of the Jews, who has ties to the most radical elements in the Islamist movement. This imam, who he must know to be of this mindset, of this ideology, the imam doesn’t hide.” “This guy wants to be vice president of the United States,” he continues. “Out of all the people Kamala Harris could choose, she chooses this sick bastard.” Want more from Mark Levin? To enjoy more of "the Great One" — Mark Levin as you've never seen him before — subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Federal judge rules 11-year-old Virginia boy can play on girls' tennis team, citing 'social isolation and stigma'

A U.S. district court judge ruled that a young boy who allegedly identifies as a girl shall be allowed to play for the girls' tennis team at his school.A Hanover County middle school in Virginia is the subject of U.S. District Court Judge M. Hannah Lauck's decision that a young boy was excluded from a team on the basis of sex.Judge Lauck declared that the plaintiff "established that the [school] Board excluded her, on the basis of sex, from participating in an education program when it denied her application to try out for (and if selected, to participate on) her school's girls' tennis team."The child, who is being labeled as Janie Doe, had the lawsuit filed on his behalf with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia.'This is child abuse & the parents belong in jail.'The ACLU is alleging the school discriminated against the child by not allowing him to play on the team despite successfully trying out. This is in spite of the fact that Virginia law prohibits biological males from competing on girls' and women's athletics teams since the Save Women Sports Act was passed in 2021. The judge added, among other claims, that the child would face "social isolation" and "stigma" if not allowed to play with girls, in part because it would become clear that he wasn't actually a girl:"Because Janie Doe faces a litany of harms ranging from medical regression, social isolation and stigma, financial and logistical burdens, and the dignitary harms of either 'outing' her as transgender or communicating that transgender students are not welcomed or encouraged to participate in school athletics at all, Janie Doe has made more than a clear showing that the discrimination has harmed her," Lauck wrote, according to Fox News. The judge was reportedly appointed by former President Barack Obama, per OutKick, and the injunction means the child can play on the girls' team as the lawsuit moves forward in court.Women's sports activist Riley Gaines commented on the story, expressing shock while claiming the child has been on puberty blockers since the age of 7:"These parents put their SEVEN yr old son on puberty blockers. They fraudulently changed his birth certificate to female. Now, an Obama-appointed judge has ruled that he can play tennis with the girls," Gaines wrote on X. "This is child abuse & the parents belong in jail."The child has "identified as a girl since she was 7 years old," the Washington Post stated. Additionally, he was "diagnosed with gender dysphoria, has been placed on puberty blockers, and legally changed her name and birth certificate to reflect her sex as female," the outlet also reported.Like Blaze News? Trump ‘open’ to giving RFK Jr. role in his administration

Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump stated Tuesday that he would be “open” to giving Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (I) a role in his administration, should he win in November.RFK Jr.’s vice presidential nominee, Nicole Shanahan, recently said that the two candidates in the 2024 presidential campaign are considering either remaining in the race to “establish ourselves” as a third-party alternative or dropping out and throwing their support behind Trump, Blaze News previously reported.'If he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.'“There’s two options that we’re looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump or we draw somehow more votes from Trump,” Shanahan remarked during an interview on the “Impact Theory” podcast.“Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump,” Shanahan continued. “We walk away from that, and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision.”Shanahan noted that it is “not an easy decision” but that what she has heard from the Trump campaign recently has been “very positive.”In a statement released after the podcast interview dropped on Tuesday, Kennedy said he has “always” been “willing to talk with leaders of any political party to further the goals I have served for 40 years in my career and in this campaign.”He noted that his priorities include “reversing the chronic disease epidemic, ending the war machine, cleaning corporate influence out of government and toxic pollution out of the environment, protecting freedom of speech, and ending politicization of enforcement agencies.”During Trump’s Tuesday campaign stop in Michigan, CNN’s Kristen Holmes questioned the former president about a potential Cabinet position for RFK Jr.“Have you considered him for a role in the administration, and what role would that be?” Holmes asked Trump.“Well, we haven’t, but I would love that endorsement because I’ve always liked him,” Trump responded. “I like him a lot. I respect him a lot.”Trump added that he “probably would” consider RFK Jr. for a role in his administration. “He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time,” Trump continued. “I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.”He noted that he would be “honored” by RFK Jr.’s endorsement. When asked whether Republicans would support a decision to include RFK Jr. in his Cabinet, Trump responded, “I like smart people, and Republicans like me.”Donald Trump Jr. told Glenn Beck on Wednesday that he is “open and welcome to the idea” of RFK Jr. taking a position in his father’s presidential administration. He noted that RFK Jr. “could be a really great asset.”“I love the idea of giving him some sort of role in some sort of major three-letter entity or whatever it may be and let him blow it up,” he stated. “I think that’s what we need.” — (@) Like Blaze News?
