At the City University of New York (CUNY), where anti-Israel agitators took over the school’s Graduate Center Library in May, university police say they are too understaffed to protect Jewish students this fall. “The university is going into this under fire – they have no idea what’s going to happen. There’s no preparation,” a CUNY officer told the New York Post, adding, “There have been no meetings about any of this. Ever since the encampment ended, everyone went on vacation. There’s no ‘Let’s prepare for September.’” “It’s going to be bad. Our numbers just aren’t there,” an officer acknowledged. “If there’s a spontaneous protest that we don’t have any knowledge of, we’re going to be outnumbered – just by the sheer number of students enrolled, we’re outnumbered. There’s no retention anymore with our police,” the officer said. “Our academy class used to be 100-to-150. We’ve got five now – five in the academy class. We haven’t seen many that are proactive. We had hoped that heading into the school year that universities would be better prepared than last year.”

When something unusual is spotted in the sky, there is usually a clear explanation — but not always. That is certainly the case for what Virginia residents saw in the sky just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday. More specifically, it took place in the sky over the Williamsburg area. According to multiple witnesses, a mysterious black ring appeared in the sky. As a result, there are quite a few photos and videos of it. Still, even the photographic evidence hasn’t brought about any confirmed explanation for what caused this black ring. It simply appeared one minute and then vanished entirely just minutes later. That being said, based on similar situations, there are some guesses to be made about the situation. Facebook “I still think it’s something alien…” Virginia resident Renee Fisher writes, sharing some photos they managed to capture, “but Google says smoke ring, cloud formation, ring of birds… everything but alien space portal.” In the past, similar black rings were caused by fires and explosions. Still, according to the James City Country Fire Department, there were no reported incidents at that time that would explain this mystery ring. Odds are, we will never get confirmation on what caused this mysterious black ring. Though, it seems most people won’t mind.
