‘Nobody Asked You’: Hip-Hop Producer Tells Celebs To ‘Shut Up,’ Stop Endorsing Politicians

Hip-hop artist and producer Pharrell Williams said during a recent interview that he has no interest in getting involved in politics — and he sometimes gets “annoyed” by the whole scenario when he sees other celebrities throwing around endorsements. Williams spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about “Piece By Piece,” a Lego animated biopic about his life and career in the music industry, and the topic eventually turned to his personal political views. “I am much more of a federal employee. I believe in merited civil service,” he said. When asked to elaborate, he explained that he felt more in common with the federal employees who had no loyalty to a party — whether Democrat or Republican — but just showed up every day to work for the people. “You show up to work every day, you serve your country. I’m more of a humanitarian. I like people trying to help people. Not sure I’ll ever vote far right,” he said, laughing. “I won’t do that.” “But I don’t really do politics,” he continued, noting that he had thrown his support behind education initiatives and projects that helped minority entrepreneurs. “Those are the things I lean into. I’m not an activist, but I believe in action. But I do believe in activists, and you need everybody.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! Williams was then asked about recent disputes involving certain campaigns using the music of artists who did not share their political views — and that was where he appeared to draw the line. “I don’t do politics,” he said again. “In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for]. There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you.’ When people get out there and get self-righteous and they roll up their sleeves and s***, and they are out there walking around with a placard: ‘Shut up!’ So, no, I would rather stay out of the way, and obviously, I’m going to vote how I’m going to vote. I care about my people and I care about the country, but I feel there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, and I’m really about the action.”

Houthis Strike Israel with Hypersonic Ballistic Missile, Sparking Escalation

In a major escalation of the Middle East conflict, Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for launching a hypersonic ballistic missile that struck Israel early Sunday morning. The missile reportedly hit a military target in Tel Aviv, marking the first time the Houthis successfully deployed such a weapon against Israel. The missile, which flew over 2,000 kilometers before hitting its target, evaded Israel's sophisticated defense systems, including the Iron Dome and Arrow anti-missile systems. Hypersonic missiles, which travel at speeds exceeding Mach 5, are notoriously difficult to intercept due to their high velocity and ability to change trajectory mid-flight. Despite attempts by Israeli and U.S. naval forces to intercept the missile, it successfully reached Israeli airspace, with fragments later discovered in the central Israeli town of Modiin. #BREAKING : The Houthis announced an attack on Tel Aviv with a new hypersonic missile. The missile traveled more than 2,000 km from Yemen to Tel Aviv in 11 minutes, passing close to two American destroyers and a French frigate, without being detected.#Houthis #TelAviv… pic.twitter.com/MjG9loTyf1 — upuknews (@upuknews1) September 15, 2024 This attack comes as tensions continue to escalate between Israel and Iranian-backed forces throughout the region. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that air-raid sirens were triggered across central Israel following the missile's launch. However, the IDF reported no casualties, as the missile struck an open area, fragmenting mid-air. Despite the lack of immediate damage, this incident underscores the growing capabilities of the Houthis, who have long been viewed as a proxy force for Iran. The Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah, have been involved in a protracted conflict with Saudi Arabia and its allies since 2015. Their growing military arsenal, reportedly supplied in part by Iran, has allowed them to extend their reach beyond the Arabian Peninsula. Just last year, the Houthis claimed to have tested their first hypersonic missile, a development widely believed to be influenced by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, which unveiled its own hypersonic missile, the Fattah II, in 2023. Videos of a ballistic missile launched from #Yemen, that fell a few kilometers from Ben Gurion Airport in #TelAviv, in the Ben Shemen forest area. The possible target could have been the Geyzer power station located 6 km from the airport, or the airport itself.#Israel #Houthis pic.twitter.com/L297hbURyF — Capt (IN) Vikram Mahajan (Veteran) (@vikrammahajan) September 16, 2024 In a statement following the attack, a Houthi spokesperson warned of further strikes against Israeli military and civilian targets. This announcement coincides with the upcoming anniversary of Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, a date the Houthis have previously used to justify their military actions. The Houthis have launched hundreds of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones towards Israel in recent months as part of their "support for Gaza". The international community, including the United States, has condemned the attack. U.S. naval forces stationed in the Red Sea were unable to intercept the missile, raising concerns about the limitations of conventional missile defense systems against emerging hypersonic threats. The failure to stop the missile despite multiple interception attempts has prompted Israeli and U.S. military officials to reevaluate their defense strategies in the region. Meanwhile, Israel has bolstered its naval presence in the Red Sea, deploying warships and anti-missile systems to prevent further strikes. The Houthis have previously launched missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets, including an attempt to hit the strategic Red Sea port of Eilat earlier this year. These attacks are part of a broader effort by Iranian proxies to destabilize the region, as Iran continues to support groups like Hezbollah and Hamas in their confrontations with Israel. The introduction of hypersonic missiles into the conflict marks a significant escalation, with the potential to further destabilize an already volatile region. As Israel braces for more attacks, questions remain about how it and its allies will adapt to the growing missile threat from Yemen and other Iran-aligned groups. Woman Releases Song Called “Jeff Goldblum” About Jeff Goldblum… And Guess Who Responds!

There are a lot of fantastic celebrities out there, but Bebe Barry has a clear favorite. Like many others, she absolutely adores Jeff Goldblum. Unlike most of us, however, she wrote a song all about her love for Jeff Goldblum. There’s even a music video! You can imagine, then, that this singer/songwriter has worked hard to spread the word about this new song all over social media — and with much success! This silly song perfectly (and humorously) pays homage to the versatile actor, taking note of the different characters he has played over the years. Eventually, Bebe admits she was never that into dinosaurs, referencing his role in the Jurassic Park movies — she just loved Goldblum. Experience a part of this song in the video below! @bebethebarry Approved by @Jeff Goldblum himself #newmusic ♬ original sound – Bebe Barry Lots of folks have shown love for the catchy tune, but the best reaction has to be from the man himself… Jeff Goldblum! His wife, Emilie Goldblum, also shared the song on Instagram, noting that she “just had to use this song because I can’t stop singing it!!!” Jeff Goldblum Creates Catchy Song in Honor of the Iconic Actor and He Couldn’t Love it More! TikTok You might be wondering: “How long did it take for Jeff Goldblum to discover this song?” According to Bebe, Goldblum left the above comment within 24 hours of the song being out! How cool is that!? “Jeff Goldblum is the human embodiment of Jeff Goldblum,” a fellow fan of the actor points out in reaction to Bebe’s song, with another adding, “Yeah I can fully see the fam singing this to him and having the best time. This is amazing.” @bebethebarry Its all I ask ♬ original sound – Bebe Barry “It’s Goldblum-ception,” a third fan writes. “A Goldblum singing a song about Goldblum to Jeff Goldblum who has been listening to your song about Goldblum… It’s Goldblums all the way down!” You can listen to the entirety of Bebe Barry’s song, Jeff Goldblum, on music platforms (e.g. Spotify, Apple Music) right now! Dog Adorably “Demands” Live Music From Pianist Mom

Billy is a rescue dog who traveled from a Texas rescue to his adoptive home in Vancouver, Canada. His new family is teaching Billy to talk using a system of interactive buttons. Billy has two obvious favorite words: ” hungry ” and “music.” Hungry is self-explanatory. He’s a dog, and they’re eating machines. The dog has a very particular taste in music, though. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Billy (@billy.the.talking.puppy) Billy prefers classical and orchestral music. He doesn’t like radio music, either. He wants his music live — all day, every day. His favorite musician is his mom, who plays classical works on the piano for the spoiled music aficionado. Billy signals her with play requests by tapping the piano bench or pawing near the foot pedals. If that doesn’t work, he goes to his word board and presses “music.” Images from Instagram here and here. Sometimes, the family invites a local string quartet to play for Billy to satisfy his desire for live orchestral music. Billy is being introduced to new instruments, which sometimes make weird sounds. The first time Billy heard a cello, he was a little surprised. It didn’t take him long to settle in and get comfortable. Always trying to make Billy feel special, they dressed him in a puppy tuxedo and took him to a Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra practice session. He loved it! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Billy (@billy.the.talking.puppy) Billy is a mix of several breeds, including a German shepherd, husky, chow chow, Australian shepherd, and pittie. No one knows where he gets his taste for music from, but he certainly loves it. His owners have tried to give him piano lessons, but he never practices and prefers it when his mom plays for him. Please share this with others who will appreciate this dog’s taste in music. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here and here.
