Too Cute: Tiny Moose Calf Frolics In Backyard Pool In Precious Video

Have you ever seen a baby moose? One Alaska resident caught the sweetest footage of one of these creatures hanging out in their backyard. This adorable little animal even took a dip in the kiddie pool! Your heart is sure to melt when you watch the video below. @s.lee.907 #moose #calf #baby ♬ original sound – estwne In this precious clip, the baby moose ran around the kiddie pool a couple of times, almost as though they were unsure whether or not to get in. However, this animal’s playful enthusiasm eventually got the best of them. It wasn’t long before they climbed right into the water with a splash! As soon as the critter got their feet wet, though, they quickly got back out of the pool. Perhaps they didn’t want to get pruney hooves! Many commenters thought the footage of this baby moose was pretty cute. However, a couple of users wanted to know where the animal’s mother was. In one of their replies, the person who posted the video explained that the mama moose was there the whole time. “Mom is close by,” they wrote. “Baby was running towards her.” In another video, the Alaska resident captured a lovely moment between the moose and her baby. This time, the parent watched over her child carefully as the little one took a dip in the kiddie pool. While the calf stood in the water, Mom took a drink. What a treat to watch these majestic creatures enjoying some bonding time together! @s.lee.907 #moose #baby #calf #pooltime #summervibes #Alaska #Pool #momandbaby ♬ Sparks – Coldplay There have been quite a few moose sightings in this person’s backyard, and they’ve been fortunate enough to catch many of them on camera. If you scroll through their social media presence, you’ll find plenty more captivating videos of these animals. It must be so amazing to look out your window and see these beautiful creatures outside! You can find the source of this story’s featured image here. Wise Food Storage | Vacuum Sealing Food

Vacuum sealing food will change the way you store your food. With just a few easy steps, you can store and have your food last longer than usual. It's really not a complicated procedure, if you follow the steps I have on this post, you'll be vacuum sealing your food in no time! Wise Food Storage | Vacuum Sealing Food Did you know that when you vacuum seal food, it stays fresh 5 times longer than other conventional storage methods? Because vacuum sealing removes the air from the container (reducing oxidation), foods such as beef, poultry, fish and even vegetables can have an extended freezer life– up to 3 years! I've laid out a quick explanation of how to go about using your vacuum sealer to safely and quickly store your food. Let's get started!   Supplies you need for vacuum sealing food: vacuum sealer (I use the Foodsaver) vacuum sealing bags vacuum sealing roll – (to make my own bags) scissors food for storage   Step 1 I'm going to use my vacuum sealer to store my chocolate chia survival bars as well as some beef jerky I made recently. The chocolate chia survivor bars are small, so I'm going to use one of the small vacuum sealing bags. The vacuum seal bags are smaller, so I'm going use these for the chia survival bars.   Step 2 Make sure you have your vacuum sealer plugged in. Grab your bag of food and place the open end so the edge of the bag is lies in between the two foam sealing pads. This is where the suction happens so don't push the edge of the bag all the way into the machine. Put the bars in the bag so they lie flat. Place the open end in the vacuum sealer. Close the lid.   Step 3 Lock it down! Press the tab on the right down until it clicks. For the FoodSaver I'm using, you'll have to press fairly hard. Lock the lid. Press the lever down all the way until it clicks. It should be this far down when it's completely locked. Press the Vacuum Seal button. It will start vacuuming out all of the air.   Step 4 Pull the tab up to unlock your bag and check the seal to make sure there aren't any wrinkles or holes. When it's done, pull the lock lever all the way up to open the lid. Remove the bag and marvel at your sealed bag of goodness. Be sure to label your storage bag with a name and date.   Refrigerator Pickles | A Homesteading Guide To Pickling https://t.co/4GcjH1VymM pic.twitter.com/dGFkIfiuaE — Homesteading (@HomesteadingUSA) January 20, 2016   Now I'm going to use the roll to make a custom sized bag for the beef jerky. Step 1 Lay the roll out along side the beef jerky to measure how long your bag will be. You will want to leave 3 inches from the end of the jerky to the edge of the bag. Use the vacuum seal roll to create a custom size bag for over sized items. Lay the roll out along side the jerky to cut to the right size. The roll I have is marked every 3 inches. This is super helpful in eyeballing the extra space you need around the food to get it sealed properly. Use your scissors to cut the size you need.   Step 2 You now have two open ends, so before you put anything inside, you'll want to seal one end. Place one end just as you did before – make sure the edge sits in the opening created by the two foam seals. Close the lid. Lock the lid. Press the lever down all the way until it clicks. This time, press the “Seal” button. Release the lever to the “open” position. Check your seal.   Step 3 Place the beef jerky inside the bag you just made. Get ready to vacuum seal it! Label the bag with the name and date. Place the open end in the vacuum sealer. Lock the lid. Press the vacuum seal button. Looking good! Check the seal for air pockets and wrinkles. Vacuum sealed chocolate chia bars and beef jerky! A great way to store food, safely.   Some helpful hints: Avoid overfilling the bags in order to ensure a suction and seal. If you are sealing items with sharp edges, wrap the food/item in a cloth first (paper towels work too), then seal. If  you are wanting to store fruits and vegetables, you'll need to pre-freeze the fruits and blanch the vegetables before you vacuum seal. Mysterious Orange UFO Spotted Near U.S. Army Base

A glowing orange object cruising silently through the night sky near the U.S. Army’s Fort Campbell base, straddling the Tennessee-Kentucky border. The sighting (see video below), which occurred just after midnight on New Year’s Day in Clarksville, Tennessee, has reignited questions about the nature of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) and mysterious drones increasingly reported worldwide. The video, posted to Reddit alongside a detailed eyewitness account, shows what appears to be a luminous, oval-shaped craft moving at a steady pace. According to the author who shared the footage, their father—an Army veteran with nearly three decades of experience—was outside enjoying fireworks when he noticed the unusual object. The witness, who was summoned outside to observe, initially thought the orange light might be a hobbyist drone capturing New Year’s Eve festivities. However, upon closer inspection, they noted, “The apparent altitude and distance at which it was flying made me second-guess that assumption.” Despite years of familiarity with the planes and helicopters routinely flying over Fort Campbell, he admitted to being baffled by the strange sighting. This event follows a string of reports about unexplained drone-like objects over U.S. airspace, part of a broader pattern of similar sightings worldwide. In December alone, sightings of UAPs—or unidentified aerial vehicles—were reported in states as far-flung as Arizona and Pennsylvania, as well as internationally, from rural England to South America. These objects, often described as maneuvering with an agility that far exceeds current drone technology, have fueled speculation about their origin—whether foreign surveillance, advanced domestic experiments, or something even more extraordinary. Samsung Ballie might be the coolest AI robot we see at CES 2025

Samsung's playful Ballie AI robot made an appearance at CES 2025, reminding us how cool such a smart home device might be. It also reminded us that Samsung first introduced the Ballie concept in 2020 and that we've seen it since. We never got release dates from Samsung, as this seemed to be the kind of CES product that might never become commercially available. That's changing this year, as Samsung set a 2025 release date for Ballie. The actual date isn't available, but Samsung seems committed to launching the robot commercially. After what I have seen so far, and without actually getting a hands-on experience, I have to say the prospect of having an AI robot like Ballie at home sounds pretty great. Continue reading... Tiny plants reveal big potential for boosting crop efficiency

Scientists have long sought ways to help plants turn more carbon dioxide (CO₂) into biomass, which could boost crop yields and even combat climate change. Recent research suggests that a group of unique, often overlooked plants called hornworts may hold the key.

A new way to determine whether a species will successfully invade an ecosystem, including the human GI tract

When a new species is introduced into an ecosystem, it may succeed in establishing itself, or it may fail to gain a foothold and die out. Physicists at MIT have now devised a formula that can predict which of those outcomes is most likely.
