DEVELOPING: Security Forces At Air Force Base Return Fire In Reported Shooting
Security forces at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland (JBSA) reportedly returned fire on at least one drive-by suspect early Saturday morning.
“JBSA officials announced that the incident took place at around 4:30 on Saturday morning at the main gate of the Chapman Training Annex,” FOX San Antonio reports.
It’s unclear how many shooters were involved or the amount of shots fired upon the base.
The shooters are not believed to have a military affiliation.

Per Fox News:
“There was no active threat to the installation … and our security forces responded to mitigate the threat,” spokesperson Stefanie Antosh said, noting that the suspect or suspects did not try to breach the gates.
San Antonio police officers also arrived at the scene to assist in the investigation, Antosh said.
A motive for the shooting is not known.
The JBSA-Chapman Training Annex entry gate was closed and reopened at around 9:30 a.m. local time. Drivers were advised to use an alternate gate located north of primary on Ray Ellison Boulevard.

FOX San Antonio noted:
JBSA also confirmed that although the off-base shooting did prompt a response from security personnel, the shooting was not a threat to the base.
No soldiers or personnel were injured in the incident.
No Injuries to U.S. Servicemembers occurred as a result of the Incident, with the Shooters having driven away in a Black Sedan following the Firefight. The Attack has been deemed an “Off-Base Incident” and is being Investigated by Local, State, as well as Federal Law Enforcement.
