Massachusetts residents say that immigration is the top issue facing the state‚ a recent poll has found. The poll‚ performed by the MassINC Polling Group‚ asked 1‚002 Massachusetts residents what they believe is the most important issue facing the state‚ leaving the question open-ended. A plurality of Massachusetts residents‚ 21%‚ said that immigration and migrants are the biggest issues facing the Bay State‚ with housing coming in second at 15%. Taxes‚ government spending‚ and welfare came in as the third biggest issue facing the state at 12%. Inflation and the cost of living‚ meanwhile‚ tied government spending in third place at 12%. The vast majority of respondents‚ 67%‚ said that the situation was either a crisis (28%) or a major problem (39%)‚ with Democrats showing significant concern over the issue. Among Democrats‚ 21% called the issue a crisis and 40% called it a major problem. The poll was conducted online between March 21st and 29th‚ surveyed 1‚002 Massachusetts residents‚ and has a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points. Immigration broke the top 10 most pressing issues among poll respondents in Massachusetts for the first time in August 2023 when it moved into fourth place with 10% of respondents dubbing it the Bay State’s biggest issue. Massachusetts is not the only blue state that has become concerned about the effects of Biden’s open border. Another recent poll found that likely voters in Colorado say that immigration is the top issue facing their state as well. The poll found that 14% of likely Colorado voters said immigration is the top issue facing the state‚ with homelessness coming in second at 12%. The Massachusetts and Colorado polls correspond with a wider national trend‚ with 36% of voters across the country saying that immigration is the top issue facing the country‚ while inflation came in second place. A recent Harvard-Harris poll also found that Biden’s lowest issue-specific approval rating is on immigration‚ a trend that has persisted for four consecutive months. The poll results come as the United States faces an unprecedented crisis on our southern border‚ with officials recording about 9 million nationwide encounters and 1.7 million estimated gotaways since President Joe Biden took office. The figure poses a sharp contrast with the 415‚000 total reported gotaways for 2018‚ 2019‚ and 2020 under the Trump administration.

A North Las Vegas teen walks home at night when he encounters a child-like 'shadow being' running toward him. But mind you we didn't live very far maybe a mile or two.Fast forward to me leaving and I was on my way home. I had a nice buzz but I definitely wasn't impaired to the point of having my vision or motor functions affected in any way that I can blame that is.The streets were wide and almost no cars to be seen‚ I know as a woman it's different but as a guy‚ I actually took comfort in cars passing at this time because of that small window. If that makes sense‚ I felt I wasn't alone walking when they were passing. The journey was eerie but I made it to the entrance of my neighborhood‚ Unfortunately‚ my house was basically at the opposite end of this winding road yet still a straight shot so I had just a little ways to go‚ but nonetheless‚ I knew these streets and safety was on the horizon.The houses are fairly sized and as I'm walking down the sidewalk‚ between each house theirs basically an alleyway of darkness. In the day it would be a walking path perhaps to the backyards with you know‚ electric meters on the walls of the house and AC units. Anyways at night‚ these alleys are almost pitch black when you look far enough.As I'm walking down the sidewalk I can't help but glare in between each house and start getting in my head and tripping myself out from my imagination. I try to slow my roll mentally since I am alone and stay on route. No cars have passed in a while thus no comfort. I continue like this down the street until my house is finally in sight down the way. Obviously‚ I felt a bit better with my destination in view. Then a car comes north from the direction of my house and I'm on the right-hand sidewalk with the road to my left so I thought‚ 'Sweet.' Another human to see me home be it for just a moment.It was when this car passed me and after the flash of the headlights‚ I saw what I saw. Already looking towards the street after the car passed on my left something grabbed my attention in the corner of my eye crossing the street towards me. The street lights were those yellowish ones so the street was lit just enough.At first‚ I thought it was a dog so I glanced directly at it. And what I saw initially‚ if I had to describe it‚ was what almost seemed to be a black silhouette of a little boy trotting towards me. I don't know if you saw those typical little statues of toddlers like in a garden section of a store‚ curly hair and all on a swing or whatnot. But if I had to describe the black silhouette it resembled that little boy.I'm an avid gamer so I'd assume I know when to lock in. So when this thing caught my eye I raised a brow after the car passed. It was when I did a double-take to confirm‚ that is when I freaked. I remember turning directly towards it‚ after the glare of the headlights. For but just a second or two‚ enough for me to analyze‚ there it was a shadowy little boy trotting towards me with no features‚ around 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall. The moment‚ and I mean the moment‚ I consciously accepted this was happening I gasped‚ already turning my body‚ and yelled as I took off a full sprint toward my house. I kid you not‚ it felt like I was passing a house every two strides. I never ran so fast in my life.As I was running‚ trying to collect myself‚ I literally reminded myself what I was running from mid-run and yelled again and turned on the turbo. I just felt like it was right behind me up until this point. I was already running as fast as I could but my survival instincts said otherwise. I never looked back once. I ran all the way to my house and‚ thank god‚ they left the front door open for me. I slammed the door behind me. And there was my dad and brother‚ still awake reclined and watching TV.I'll be 29 this August‚ yet I remember this night vividly. Here are two strange camping experiences from Lake Petenwell‚ Wisconsin. The first involves a huge orb in the woods and the other describes a white cryptid canine encounter.&;quot;I used to go camping at Lake Petenwell‚ Adam's County‚ Wisconsin campground every year. One year‚ probably about 1988‚‚ a younger sister‚ 2 cousins‚ and I went for a walk after dark‚ maybe about 10 pm. We were young. My cousin and I were 9 years old and the other 2 were 8.There were some dirt walking trails in the woods around the campground. It was near the lake and two trails intersected with I little clearing maybe 6 feet on the sides of the trails. We could see a pontoon boat filled with people. Our young dumb selves figured they were a search party looking for someone‚ maybe even us because we were not supposed to be away from camp that late. I now know it was just people having a good time.As we were watching them‚ looking down the path going towards the lake‚ staying out of sight‚ a light orb came from through the woods right to us. We were frozen in place. It was bigger than a softball and smaller than a basketball. It came in circled us twice‚ probably 8 feet off the ground‚ and left. The whole thing was maybe10 seconds long. I can remember it so vividly like it happened yesterday.&;quot; FI received the following several years ago:Hi‚ just read your Wisconsin area story. I have a place in Adams County‚ Wisconsin by Lake Petenwell. It is a campsite of 5 acres. I was partying out there with 3 people around midnight two years ago. We had the stereo cranked up when something started to grunt/growl louder than the radio just out of sight behind a 35-foot camper. It repeated the sounds 3 times. I was ready to run for my life&;#33; I got to the stereo and turned it off but did not hear a thing after that. I had my spotlight and could not see or hear anything move away either. it sounded similar to an extremely loud bull snort mixed with a deep growl similar to the werewolf sound in the movies. It was so loud that even the people in the camper heard it&;#33; Just before this happened the whipperwills were going nuts.We no longer walk alone on the trails at night‚ only riding golf carts or STVs on the trails after dark. Then last year we had another incident. We went out for a cart ride and heard a loud bark. I thought it was the neighbor's dog‚ but no&;#33; It was a white wolf&;#33; It seemed aggressive with no fear and was circling the camper with 1 other dog. I have hunted at night and lived here my whole life and never heard anything like this first encounter. In 1977‚ a series of sightings of large 'brown things' were reported by military personnel at the Quantico Marine Base in Northern Virginia:Quantico‚ Va. (API) – Some Marine sentry’s standing guard here late at night are seeing some strange sights and hearing strange sounds. Is it a “Bigfoot&;#63;” Well‚ that’s what some of them think.The “thing” has made its presence known in the dark shadows of a tree line outside an ammunition storage area at the Quantico Marine Base in northern Virginia‚ said Sgt. Alan Pultz of base’s public information office. Marines who have seen or heard it have dubbed it the “Asa Monster.”A few Marines claim to have seen “brown things” walking on two legs. Others say they have heard strange shrieking screams‚ and some claim they’ve heard something climbing a fence.“I remember the night I saw it very well‚” said a Marine who asked that his name not be used. “It was about 2 a.m.‚ I was walking my post when I heard something in the woods. I stopped and looked in the direction of the noise.I could see a dark figure beyond the fence just in front of the tree line‚ so I shined my flashlight at it. I couldn’t believe what I saw. It was some type of creature that looked like a cross between an ape and a bear”.“The first thing I noticed was its large glaring eyes. Then I noticed it had arms and was covered with dark brown hair.”The Marine said he went for help but when he and the sergeant of the guard searched the area‚ “we found nothing except some very large tracks with a pattern that resembled those of a dog.”He estimated that the creature was between 6 and 8 feet tall and resembled an artist’s conception of a “Sasquatch” or “Bigfoot”.Noises heard by Marine sentry’s usually occur in the summer‚ said St. Kris N. Stolpa‚ sergeant of the guard of the physical security platoon.He said the noises have developed a pattern. “Occurring between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.‚ the noises will be there for two days and then go away for two days‚ in a continuous cycle.”Stolpa said one night one of his men reported a loud screaming noise but when he investigated‚ he heard nothing until nearly a half hour later. “It sounded as if someone were being mutilated.”Many of the Marines who claim they have heard strange noises are hesitant to believe there is no logical explanation for them.
